Canva is a versatile design tool that has been widely adopted by individuals and businesses for various use cases. Users have found Canva helpful in creating social media graphics, resumes, infographics, eBooks, and more. The platform offers limitless built-in templates and media options, making it easy for users to create cohesive and professional external marketing materials.

One of the key use cases of Canva is its ability to help businesses solidify their brand and expand their outreach. Sole proprietors and small businesses use Canva to create images for social media posts, e-mail headers, e-book designs, and PowerPoint slides. It is also used across different departments, including sales, executive offices, and marketing teams, to create content for announcements, event invitations, and community engagement opportunities.

Canva enables businesses to create high-quality designs without outsourcing, reducing costs for lean marketing teams. It is recommended to clients who don't have in-house graphic design capabilities. For example, restaurants use Canva to design menus, event posters, and print marketing materials. Businesses also rely on Canva to create marketing materials such as business Instagram and Facebook posts, logos, banners, and business cards.

Another prominent use case of Canva is in the creation of visual content for ministries and book projects. It allows users to present and promote their content in fun, vibrant, and high-quality visual formats. Canva is used to design blog banners, Amazon A+ banners, web banners, and social media images for book projects.

In addition to these use cases, Canva finds its application in designing ad mockups, graphs, infographics, handouts, flyers, social media visuals, email banners, and more. Its drag-and-drop editor along with various graphics options makes it easy for non-designers within an organization to create innovative presentations or promotional materials.

Overall, Canva's wide range of features and user-friendly interface make it a valuable tool for individuals and businesses alike, helping them create professional-looking designs without the need for extensive design skills or outsourcing.

Users commonly recommend upgrading to the pro option of Canva for social media managers and teams looking to ensure consistent branding across the Internet. Canva Pro is considered a cost-effective alternative to Adobe products, especially for smaller businesses with a lower budget. It is also suggested to try Canva for free to create custom designs and stay on brand. Canva is seen as an ideal tool for basic design work, logo creation, and creating social media graphics and web designs. Users suggest utilizing Canva to quickly generate images for digital campaigns and regain control over branding. Canva is recommended as the ultimate solution for companies without a graphic design department or individuals who want to create images quickly without relying on Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. For teams and companies that are not design-heavy, Canva Pro is recognized as an inexpensive and user-friendly option. Canva for Work is suggested for centralizing brand guidelines and creating social media posts or graphics. Users recommend accessing the tutorials provided by Canva for learning how to effectively use the platform and advise checking the license agreement for $1.00 stock photos before usage. While Canva cannot replace more advanced design software like Photoshop, it is still considered a valuable tool for those with basic graphic design skills. Lastly, users recommend ensuring that the team knows the appropriate colors and fonts to use and uploading logos in PNG format for easy integration.

I use it when designing posts for social media and flyers for promotions and events. It's very easy to use and has a TON of beautiful templates that help me expedite the design process. It's also very easy to customize elements - you can upload your own fonts, create branding guidelines, etc.
  • Functional and beautiful pre-made templates
  • Easy-to-use interface that's very simplistic
  • Different formats and designs for different needs - flyers, cards, social media posts
  • Only allows a certain amount of additional fonts to be uploaded
  • Many of the photos from the library cost additional, which can be frustrating
  • Organizing a large number of files/designs can be very tricky
It's very good for quick creation of social media posts and flyers, but wouldn't be practical for an in-depth design, like a detailed brochure or multi-page document. It's also very good at creating custom cards or stationary for day-to-day use.

As a content writer, I [use Canva daily] to make [lots of] impressive graphics. I mean, it's a fact; you will have to be consistently creative if you are in the marketing industry. It's a headache to come up with unique ideas every time that appeal to the consumers most. Canva helps a lot because it has thousands of free templates in every category. Overall, [...] Canva is not only for professional designers, [but] it is made for everyone.
  • It is easy to use and has thousands of free templates. You don't have to spend your money to get compelling designs.
  • You can download your designs in any format you want.
  • You can schedule your designs directly through it.
  • If you are a pro member, it will provide you a content planner feature also.
  • It provides many features to their pro members, such as background remover, design resizer, shadow effects, fonts, frames, etc.
  • Canva should have more stock photos and videos. It should add a lot of [3D] designs too.
  • I face an issue with its zooming feature. The size of some designs doesn't regain its normal position when I zoom out the designs.
  • The background remover feature should be improved. Also, it should be free because designers have to remove backgrounds a lot.
Cana is worth using if you are a newbie designer. Its subscription plans are not much high. You can make [Facebook] posts, brochures, [info-graphics], graphs and charts; [there] a lot more which I have used. [If] you are going to demand some [3D] designs, you will somewhat [be] [disappointed]. The [color] gradient also needs to be increased.

I absolutely LOVE Canva. As a solopreneur, I have to wear all the hats in my business and that includes graphic design, which is REALLY not my forte! Between social media content, pins for Pinterest, images for my website...if I didn't have Canva giving me the right dimensions for my designs, templates to inspire me, etc...I would truly be lost.
  • templates - their templates inspire my designs so much and save me untold hours
  • elements - Canva includes a lot of great graphics and picture frames that make my designs truly stand out in the crowd
  • dimensions - Social media image sizes change CONSTANTLY! Without Canva guiding me towards the right size I would have redo my designs over and over again!
  • Also...a super under-used feature of Canva is animation. Sites like Pinterest are wanting creators to post video pins now too and by animating my design in Canva, it becomes a video with the touch of a button!
  • Honestly, I think Canva has really got it right in most areas. I do wish there were more elements available at the free level as I like to keep my business costs down
  • Some of Canva's social dimensions get outdated from time to time. Staying even more on top of the platform changes would be awesome!
  • Adding more business categories for the templates would also be helpful! Most templates are geared towards other industries and sometimes I have to be a little extra creative to make them fit my needs
I am a tech-savvy business coach and I recommend platforms and tools to my clients and audience daily. I recommend Canva to most of my clients but especially to those who want to get started using Pinterest for their business. Creating Fresh Pins regularly (which is what the platform wants now) would take so much longer and be far more frustrating without Canva.

We use Canva to make quick images to share on social media.
The best part about Canva is that it automatically gives you the correct size layout depending what social media platform you need the image for.
  • Very easy learning curve
  • Many free templates to choose from
  • You don't need a ton of computer knowledge to make an image
  • Canva could make the searching easier for some different layouts
  • Canva could have a better way to empty the trash of items you no longer need
  • It would me nice to see some easier layering options.
When I had to get a quick image out of an upcoming event, I logged into Canva and within 5 min I had a quality image to share on social media.

Canva is a great tool to use for fast image content that doesn't require the skills of a graphic designer. We use Canva at multiple levels and departments to create content for publication across our website, social media, and direct communication. It's a great tool to have when you are short on time and want to get something out the door without using Photoshop. The ease of toggling between different layers, opacities, and image sizes is remarkable.
  • Create multi-layered graphics quickly using a simple interface
  • Set company colors and fonts so that every user has quick access to the brand style
  • Provides a large database of free-to-use graphics and templates
  • I'd like an integration that removes the background from an image in one click
  • There is no ability to collaborate on an image with someone else in real time
  • I would like to be able to resize a canvas once I've started working on it
It's well suited for small to medium businesses that don't have a full staff of designers available to create content at any time. It's a powerful tool to create content quickly for use on social media, in emails, on websites, and more. Power users of Photoshop and professional image software would likely find it extremely limiting. Large companies would be better off with enterprise-level software. Smaller companies would benefit greatly from the free option.

Canva is a fantastic tool in creative visual media that any professional might need. Finding new ways to present and promote your content is critical-- whether you are a marketing maven or an elementary school teacher. Your audience receives your content in fun, vibrant, high-quality visual formats. From posters to social media posts, it gives users every avenue to share their message in the way they want.
  • Inventive templates that update regularly.
  • Free and paid content, accessible to all.
  • Able to be used by students as well as adults.
  • Able to create multimedia content that is static or animated to suit your needs.
  • Courses to teach you how to create better content.
  • Limited download formats (jpeg, png).
  • Pricing for members who are not educators.
Canva is a fantastic resource for anyone who has limited time and resources but needs to accomplish many tasks at once. Through just this site, I am able to create classroom posters, header illustrations for my Google Classroom, a social media post welcoming students back, as well as a visually-attractive handout for parents to remind them of the most important facts heading back to school. I did not have to search the web for multiple sites, create multiple accounts, and learn multiple programs. It was all through Canva -- and the products were nothing short of spectacular.

Canva assists our executive recruitment firm to make the dated vacancy posts stand out. We create "photo advertisements" of our positions instead of the age-old normal, boring vacancy ads. Canva is used by all our recruiters as well as our social media manager.
We definitely stand out from the crowd with our ads. Canva makes our product eye catching!
  • Quickly convey a digital message.
  • Easily resize our projects to fit on various platforms.
  • Branding made easy and consistent.
  • Endless templates to get the project done without much thinking.
  • Brand Kits for different segments of our business.
Canva is perfect for people without graphic software or expertise. Canva is perhaps not ideal for freelancers as you cannot load multiple brand kits.

At Boley Centers, I use Canva on a daily basis to complete flyers, brochures, graphics, annual reports, newsletters and more! In short, Canva is a fantastic web-based solution for the non-profit world where high-priced design programs are not within our budget. It's simple and intuitive to use and has really stepped up my game!
  • High resolution results.
  • Fantastic templates.
  • Great font library.
  • Intuitive and responsive.
  • I wish Canva had more built-in collage options.
  • I wish Canva provided a flip book option.
Canva makes designing easy and inexpensive! I love the ability it provides me to create new logos, engaging graphics and multiple file formats. If I am in need of a fresh idea for a printed or digital item, Canva also has great built-in templates which I can use and make my own or use to spur my creativity. The quality of the final documents is high and I love using the program.

I currently use Canva to design a wide range of marketing materials and assets for my agency as well as clients I support through my care plans. It addresses every need since it has so many assets ready at my disposal. From digital marketing to print assets Canva delivers with an exceptional editor and elements to use within it.
  • Large selection of templates.
  • Robust editor with many tools to fine tune designs.
  • Generous selection of free assets.
  • Paid assets that you actually want to buy and at a reasonable price.
  • Can't think of any reasons as they provide so much already.
Canva is suited for all levels of users from beginner without design skills and also professional designers. It has a range of tools that beginners will learn to pick up quickly and it comes with a pretty robust learning environment if you need it. If you run a business or event planning Canva is right for you.

Canva is used by our graphics and marketing team for social media and printed pieces. I also use it as a Manager for creating presentations and slideshows for donors and board meetings. It is an affordable and easy-to-use tool that creates beautifully compelling graphic pieces for presenting our nonprofit.
  • Free templates.
  • Easy to learn and use.
  • Able to create many different formats of graphics and presentations.
  • I would like an easier way to copy elements from one creation to another within Canva.
Canva is well-suited to creating social media posts, graphics pieces for mailers, and presentations. It is not designed for more complicated or detailed graphics work, like editing or adjusting images, "photoshopping," etc. It works very well for small to medium-sized nonprofits without the budget to pay a professional graphics designer.

We use Canva to create social media assets for our clients. The Canva platform allows us to easily create, share, and store stunning and seamlessly branded libraries for each of our clients. The sharing tool allows us to bypass the time consuming process of having to email artwork for approvals.
  • Easy-to-use templates! When you need a graphic on the fly, you can usually find one that will work with very little modification needed.
  • The dynamic color picker is awesome! Upload your logo and it grabs your colors and builds your palette.
  • Wide variety of formats available to download your finished work. For those that don't use Adobe, it's an excellent solution.
  • I'd like to see a broader selection of fonts.
  • Canva doesn't display bleed marks, which can create some alignment challenges if designing for print.
  • Ruler marks on the drawing board would be a great addition
Creating a series of seamlessly branded social media graphics is as simple as a few clicks. Not the best choice if you're looking for a tool to design large-format graphics for print, such as banners, step-n-repeat backgrounds or other items that need to be formatted in CMYK or otherwise prepared for production.

Canva is used by our content team to develop professional-grade graphics for digital platforms quickly and efficiently. It is a great way to ensure quality and proper sizing for various channels. For longer-term projects we often use custom-designed graphics, but for getting the word out quickly, Canva is a great solution.
  • Automatic sizing for different social channels
  • Grids to guide novice designers
  • Ability to upload fonts and images to personalize your designs
  • It's easy to over-estimate your design ability
  • UI is a little...cluttered

Canva is used across the board for everything, and that's the beauty of it. It can be used for email marketing, creating menus, creating social media posts. Literally, anything that needs graphics or images, this is your one stop shop for everything. It has it's own graphics, fonts, colors, you can add your logo, create your brand colors, save brand fonts, so it makes branding your content even easier. There are so many templates to choose from and saves us time when putting together social media ads or posting to our website.
  • Great and easy to use templates for everything!
  • Beautiful illustrations to use for free (with paid subscription)
  • Group collaboration on projects. Easily save and send for comments from the team
  • Branding kit so you never have to search for fonts or colors, they're always right there
  • I'd like to be able to resize a project more easily, or have the ability to use instagram sizes that are outside the usual square post
  • I have only had it happen once, but it did crash on me once, which was upsetting.
  • it does everything I need it to, so its hard to find a third area for improvement. They're constantly updating.
Any situation where you need to create any kind of media, Canva is great for. I think it excels in building out items for a website, marketing email or social media posts. It is great for teams that work on design elements together because one person can trade-off to another mid-project and it updates that fast.

About half of staff uses [Canva] for 99% of all of our graphic design needs, from email blasts and headers to social graphics, website graphics, prospectus design and brochures.
  • It allows for people with limited graphic design skills to produce something sharp and clean.
  • It allows for people with graphic design skills to do about 90% of what they could do on a more dedicated, professional graphic design tool.
  • It allows for staff to work quickly on graphic design needs, eliminating for us at least the need to work with outside designers, to spend on outside designers and to spend time communicating with outside designers.
  • A few more advanced tools would allow for those with more advanced graphic design skills to do even more.
  • There are limitations on some tools that are probably in place by design, in order to make sure that those with limited graphic design skills can still produce something clean - these limitations will be frustrating sometimes to designers, but I understand why they're in place.
  • The folder / graphics interface could be improved.
Canva is really well suited to a small staff like ours, where we have no dedicated graphic design professionals on staff. I create the majority of our graphic design work - for landing pages, headers, email blasts, brochures, guides and more. My colleagues do also create whitepaper covers, thumbnail graphics and headers, despite not having much if any graphic design skills. They can also work from templates I've designed.

We use Canva to design various marketing materials, brochures, flyers, graphics, thank you cards, social media posts, etc. We do have an in-house graphic designer who uses a fancier software for more complex projects, however, Canva works great for the rest of us when her plate is full or we just need something that's quick and easy.
  • Lots of templates to chose from
  • Able to download in multiple formats
  • User-friendly
  • Easy to upload your own images/logos
  • Automatically saves your progress
  • Almost too many options, it can be difficult to know to where to start
  • Only has certain fonts - there is a big selection, but they may not match your brand standards
  • Free version of Canva is not as robust
Canva is a great tool if you want to quickly design marketing materials, but you don't have the expertise of an actual graphic designer, nor do you want to pay for one. Professionally, I've used Canva to quickly create sponsor thank you slides, one-pagers, web graphics, and even to help with formatting images. I had about 40 different company logos and I needed them all to be the same size/pixels for our website. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but I was able to create a simple template in Canva and drag and drop each logo, and then save/download each file to get what I needed. Canva allowed me to do this pretty efficiently, it would have taken a lot more time (with a lot more frustration) in a different clunkier program. Personally, I've also used Canva to create a vision board and it made the process fun, simple, and efficient.

Canva is used in creating blog banners, Amazon A+ banners, web banners, and some social media images for book projects we are working on at the time. It is so easy to use. There are times that we have a bottleneck with our design team and we can use Canva to help us bridge that gap by allowing non-design people to creatively make necessary images for projects. Having fonts, images, backgrounds, and other elements easily available is so helpful in the workflow with Canva. I can quickly share the ideas with supervisors so it gets quick review and editing. Super Easy!
  • Image selection
  • Ease to learn
  • Extra elements to add to images.
  • Easily hyperlinked
  • Ease of creating different formats (PNG, GIF, PDF, etc.).
  • Tons of fonts
  • Ease of sharing with others.
  • Finding the guides and rulers
  • Resizing of images, sometimes you cannot crop easily.
  • Organization of designs in the program.
We have found that it works best for us in the digital arena. Social media posts, Amazon A+ page items, etc. It allows for the ease of different variations which is so helpful.

We use Canva for all graphic design needs at our restaurant. Creating print marketing materials. Menus. Social media posts. Event posters. And more.
  • Graphic design templates
  • Social media post templates
  • Free and affordable graphics
  • Organizing photos (must pay for this feature)
  • Resizing graphics (must pay for this feature)
Canva is great if you need to create graphics/posters/social media posts and you have no graphic design skills. Their templates are really easy to use and have a great professional look and it's easy to plug in your own graphics. I'm always astounded at the professional look I can get with their help, mostly at no cost. Some of their graphics cost $1-2 to use, and some of their features like organizing your uploaded photos, or resizing your design, are paid features. But for the most part, you can do much of what you need for free.

I find scrolling through their templates to be inspirational and I get great ideas for my marketing. Although I do find there are a ton of duplicate templates that are almost exactly the same and sometimes none are exactly what I need (for instance, if I have a specific social media post idea in mind). I wish there were a way to "favorite" templates to come back to and use later.

I use Canva for most all of my design needs such as blog and Pinterest graphics for my blog posts and social media images for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I also use it for creating flyers, PowerPoint presentations, cards, and numerous other things. Anytime I have to create an image, either from scratch or based off of a previous image, I turn to Canva first. It is an incredibly handy tool with an enormous amount of templates, allowing everyone to be a designer. And they are always adding new features like stock images, making it a tool I constantly turn to and recommend.
  • TONS of templates so you don't have to create from scratch, but customize to your needs
  • TONS of pre-created "elements" for us like illustrations and shapes to give your graphics more oomph
  • Recently incorporating more stock photos making it a one-stop-shop for graphic needs
  • Lots of terrific features even for the free plan
  • It is a bit of a learning curve, particularly if you aren't familiar with design programs. But once you get the hang of it, you can do some really cool stuff.
  • It's nice to have the auto save feature, but sometimes I forget to "save a copy" for a new design and accidentally save over my original. That took me some time to get used to.
  • As a Mac user, I'm very used to Control Z or copy/paste functions, and they don't always work well in Canva, so it takes some adapting from current habits I don't often think about.
  • I completely understand them needing to make money, but some of the elements and illustrations they want you to pay for seem pretty basic at times or there are limited free choices. Once in a while, that trips me up.
I recommend Canva all the time to peers, friends, and clients! If you don't have a graphic designer on your staff or can't afford to contract all your graphic needs out out, Canva is a terrific solutions! Even when you have the money, it's also great for when you need to create something quickly and don't want to take the time to contract it out for a fast turnaround. And there are so many templates to choose from, and you can almost always find what you need or adapt it to fit your needs. At it's core, Canva allows pretty much anyone to be a designer!

I use Canva to create most of my marketing materials on my business Instagram and Facebook. I have also used Canva to create my logo, my Facebook banner, and my business cards. I use infographics and printable resources to give to my clients, which have also all been created using Canva. It’s a versatile tool used to solve several design challenges for the ministry.
  • User-friendly customer interface
  • Cloud-based storage solutions
  • Compatible with several devices
  • Tons of room for creativity
  • Integration with Procreate missing

Canva has become a staple as my go-to tool for graphics. I use the platform for a number of different clients for creating ads, blog post images, PDFs, business cards, and even some video. It is the by the quickest way to create both social media content and marketing materials with high quality images and graphics.
  • Large number of features for social sharing
  • One of the best image libraries I have ever found
  • Easy team collaboration
  • Good mobile app for working on projects from multiple devices
  • Ease of use to create and duplicate content in seconds
  • Images and elements can be free one day and costly the next
  • Limited ability to sort by free images or elements
  • File sizes can become quite large which will use up significant Memory
Canva is a must have for anyone working with graphics and design. It is such as easy and efficient tool that I couldn't imagine leaving Canva behind completely. Other tools may be more helpful when dealing with significant image manipulation and design creation for technical projects. However Canva will always be my preferred platform for quick social media and marketing material design.

Canva is used mainly by the marketing department to create ads for social media advertising. It makes it easy to create the content we need without the help of a professional. For our social media campaigns we usually just need some images with text on them, so Canva makes it convenient to create those ads.
  • Selection of icons to use
  • Drag and drop features
  • Sizing to fit different formats
  • Sharing with others
  • Need more stock photos to choose from
As a free user you have a limited variety available but still lots of options to create great images for all kinds of purposes. Social Media Managers, Bloggers, Marketing Department and more can take advantage of this easy to use. Anyone that finds Photoshop too complex will be happy with Canva as it is easy to use and figure out. If the company requires more complex artistic images then Canva might not be the right option to choose.

All of our marketing team uses Canva and it's become an essential part of our business. For all marketing materials, newsletters, social media posts, conference handouts, even images used in our landing pages, all rely heavily on Canva. Recently, we've tried to make our newsletters stand out by adding moving elements to the images. Canva's pre-built designs have made this so simple and effective.
  • A huge library of pre-built designs to inspire and guide users so you don't to have a degree in design
  • Easy editing tools and intuitive layout help (one click centering & alignment)
  • Great photo editing tools such as background remover and color corrector
  • Team-sharing, so multiple users can collaborate on projects
  • I found the team feature to be difficult to organize. I think it would be great to have folders for specific campaigns
  • The ordering feature is great, but there's been instances where the wrong Credit card was used. Can you update the checkout process to allow other payment options instead of the one on file? Also, the prices are pretty expensive compared to other printing services. It's more affordable to download the designs and get them printed elsewhere.
If you plan on doing any type of designing or using any imagery, Canva is a must-fave! Even in your personal life, I've used Canva to design resumes for my friends, party invitations, and cute Instagram stories. For work, it allows me to make my own material without putting in a request with our design team and waiting weeks for a small newsletter banner. The power is in my hands and I'm able to work smarter, not harder.

I am the social media manager for our school district. I use Canva to create website announcements, Instagram posts, Facebook posts, cover photos for all social media accounts, and more. I have also created hallway banners, promotional materials for events, and utilized some of their newer features that allow integration of videos into posts.
  • Social media posts
  • Promotional materials
  • The UI can be finicky and hard to use at times
  • Items don't always manipulate as you'd expect
It's not perfect, but it's the best I have found that does what I need to get done for my job. It's suited well for anything social media related. There is such a wide variety of templates available that even the beginner to graphic design can make some pretty captivating graphics with Canva. It's not appropriate if your main work duties involve creating spreadsheets and/or Word documents.

We use Canva in the marketing department to create imagery for social media, email newsletters, website graphics, etc.
  • The ability to remove a background is a game changer and you can quickly create PNGs without having to open Photoshop now
  • Text effects and curved text being added is also great, as this is newer. I am finding fewer and fewer reasons to have to open Adobe
  • It's very user friendly, especially for people who are just getting into design or if you need to make something quickly
  • Can save business colors and fonts with paid account for easy access
  • I love that you can choose colors from an image so you can match fonts or shapes to something in the images/logos
  • The ability to create videos and gifs is great and I love how you can create virtually any design from Instagram stories to PowerPoint slides and infographics to price charts
  • I wish it had the ability to blur or erase certain areas of an image or design
  • Sometimes trying to size things to make them align is difficult because certain shapes won't resize to be the same as others
  • I wish you could add more than one text effect
Canva is really great for social media and marketing purposes. But if you are looking for something where you need more detailed designs with 3D elements, you might need to switch to Adobe.

We used Canva to create social Media graphics. Our social media graphics tended to be repetitive in nature, but Canva helped us keep them fresh and interesting. It was only used by our marketing department. It was very helpful to be used when our more experienced graphic designer’s were busy.
  • Ease of use
  • Current on trends
  • Easy to adapt
  • Needs better organization
  • Needs better search functions
  • Needs an easy way to zoom in and out
It is well suited for a computer savvy person with good taste but no professional graphic design skills. It is less appropriate for a graphic designer needing a powerful tool.
