What is Celigo?

Celigo is an iPaaS integration platform for companies to easily connect apps, sync data, and automate processes. Integration wizards, templates, and other tools help help business users integrate NetSuite to any application or data sources.

Celigo is available in four editions, and aims to meet the integration needs of all companies -- whether it is to implement a single use case to company-wide adoption of the platform. According to the vendor, the unique flow-based pricing is aligned to the business processes that are being automated rather than on endpoints - or applications - that are being integrated. The subscription model provides an easy path to add more capacity as companies need to connect more processes - starting with one free integration flow with the Free Edition.

Each edition includes access to the following:
*Data Loader: Tool for ad-hoc import and mapping of a data file into NetSuite, Salesforce, or other REST/JSON application
*Integration Templates: Access packaged integration flows that can be installed, configured, modified, duplicated, or deleted
*Assistants: API assistants for the most popular cloud applications to make it easier and faster to create integrations
*Advanced Capabilities: Orchestration (complex flows), EDI integrations, generating tokens for direct API calls, and building wrappers

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Celigo for every internal integration. It's used for sales orders, customer payments, Zendesk customer support tickets, shipment tracking, database data migration, email sends to customers, etc... It allows all our internal systems to communicate with each other instead of being siloed. For example, to proactively solve customer pain points and issues, we track all of our packages with AfterShip and then create Zendesk support tickets if there is an issue with the package transit. Our customers love the proactive messaging so they feel like we are taking care of them every step of the way.
Pros
  • Previewing data transformations and scripts in real time
  • Ability to retry data and manage errors when something goes wrong
  • Pre built apps for quick implementation
Cons
  • EDI transactions are difficult to setup and use
  • FTP transactions can be slow when using them for a lot of volume
Likelihood to Recommend
Celigo is great for transaction-based integrations (which is most), but not great for when you want to replicate data from one system to a database. For example, if you are trying to get all of your NetSuite data into a Snowflake database. However, if you are trying to get data out of NetSuite and create transactions in another system, it's perfect.

Celigo is our data uploader/edit of choice for our Salesforce instance. It was primarily used for a data migration and a lot of data cleanup. I has a much easier to work with interface that any other data loader I have used and provides errors in simple and organized fashion.

I have already recommended Celigo to several peers. It is perfect for data cleanup. It does not upsert a large amount of data as quickly as other programs but the way it handles errors of just putting them into their respective lines instead of a separate error file made the wait worth it for me.

Celigo stores templates all in one place making them much easier to find.
Celigo interacts with your database as you are working allowing you to pull picklist values right from your db

It excels in anything related to NetSuite integration as Celigo has done the main heavy lifting around that, which makes integrating with NetSuite a breeze. Having said that, it's a general purpose iPaaS integration tool, so would work for any system to system integration.

I would highly recommend Celigo for point to point systems integration, especially if NetSuite is in the mix. I would also recommend Celigo if an Integration App is readily available for the requirement needed as this will provide a quick turnaround for going live. I would not recommend Celigo if you are looking for an iPaaS that be used to integrate a plethora of systems in a large Enterprise. Celigo is more appropriate to integrate few systems, mostly data synchronisation between those systems.

Alternatives Considered
Celigo works well in the small to medium organisations where the need for integration is tactical to support business operations, when there's no appetite for large investment in the integration space, and when the integration team is minimal or non-existent. Celigo is easy to use and easy to support, even by non-technical users. Other platforms may work better in large projects or organisations where there's a need for an integration team to build and support the platform.

We use Celigo for a ton of stuff. Almost all of the use cases involve Oracle NetSuite. We started with Celigo as integrate Ariba and NetSuite. We now have integrations with Coupa, Service Channel, our Bank, out Credit Cards, etc.
Pros
  • Error Management is better than anything you can build on your own
  • Celigo makes visibility of your data between platforms very nice
  • Broad Capabilities. Anything with an API can be connected.
Cons
  • Documentation has gotten better over the years, but could improve.
  • Marketing efforts could be greater. Its a terrific product that people should know about
  • More webinars could be helpful to show how folks are saving time and money.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to connect NetSuite to some other platform or application, you should reach for Celigo. It is a true Integration Platform. I can write code and build integrations from scratch, but they will never be as solid as what Celigo already has built. Also, Celigo gives non-developers superpowers. In NetSuite, it can be used as an alternative to SuiteScripting.

  • We have doubled our revenue in the past 5 years. My Accounting staff headcount has actually decreased. We are able to process so much with Celigo/NetSuite.
  • Nothing gets missed. We use Celigo to pull invoice/order data from NetSuite and send to various customers. I set up the schedules and know those invoices get to the correct place. My A/R balance is 99% current.
  • Data accuracy is outstanding. We don't have human order entry errors anymore. I know my customers are getting what they ordered and we are processing their requests correctly.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but not bad. Once you get a flow or two under your belt, there will be no stopping you. You will start to see possibilities and ways to apply automation and integration throughout your business. It becomes fun to look for additional ways to save money, time, and improve accuracy.
Alternatives Considered
We demoed some of these other integration options. The learning curve seemed a bit steeper and the offerings less robust, so we did not pursue very far. I cannot speak to the others much. We have not had a reason to stray from Celigo.
