Multiple clients have used Lumen/CenturyLink for SIP handoff, and their experiences have been mostly positive with occasional interruptions and downtime. The use of SIP offers resiliency and failover, providing advantages over traditional PRI and voice trunks. The voice quality is dependent on the ISP/carrier, such as Lumen/CenturyLink, which has provided good and reliable service. While using Lumen/CenturyLink may incur costs and delays compared to other competitors offering similar services, Zach, the account representative, has been helpful in ensuring the best value for the clients.

One key use case of CenturyLink Enterprise Voice SIP Services is its organization-wide implementation as part of a distributed platform sold as a service. It is utilized for inbound and outbound voice PSTN services at the US-based HQ. The solution needed to be reliable, cost-effective, low maintenance, and support high availability. CenturyLink Enterprise Voice SIP has proven to be very reliable and more affordable compared to other phone companies. It offers the flexibility of modern VoIP services with old school telecom grade reliability. The service is used across the entire organization, delivering services to the corporate office and other locations via a hybrid VOIP phone system. This setup allows for handling calls without the need for standard copper phone lines or costly hosted services. Additionally, international calls can be made without incurring extra long-distance charges.

In terms of comparisons between CenturyLink Enterprises Voice SIP and Flowroute would be the display and formats. In my opinion, CenturyLink has an easier format and can make a difference when it comes to inbound and outbound calls. Of course, every company has its pros and cons but in this case, the pros outweigh Flowroute's.

I feel like you get better value for your dollar here. They always will let you know if there is a promotion going on or if they have a discounted rate depending on the number of users that you have in your environment. They also make it easy to negotiate rather than having to jump through all these hoops.

I have found a better solution is to run two different carriers through SD-WAN (such as Bigleaf or Velocloud MSR) and use a provider like BCMOne (formerly NexVortex) to manage the SIP. BCMOne/Nexvortex is an AWESOME SIP provider with better planning, deployment, and technical support. When paired with redundant internet paths on SD-WAN (BigLeaf or Velocloud) a very resilient solution is created.

CenturyLink [Enterprise Voice SIP] was the incumbent, so switching providers, particularly for our HQ was an overwhelming task for our small team. We did migrate from the legacy CenturyLink voice product EIPT to the new Voice Complete solution as well as upgrade our US and UK circuits along with a hardware upgrade of the managed PE routers in each location. We also decided to implement RingCentral in one of our very small international branches but the lack of features is problematic. We still have T1 service in our other international branches but are looking to go full cloud SaaS PBX there, likely through Microsoft Teams, which we already use for messaging. There are some complexities, as we can't port our numbers directly yet and need to set up an additional CUBE router for SIP. Eventually we hope to get to fully SaaS via Teams.

Compared to ATT and Verizon, we have gotten much better uptime and pricing is better as well. There is much less red tape when placing orders or getting quotes. Real, actual support is also much closer to the customer, rather than being full of AI assistants and off-shore tier-1 call center agents.
