The entire organization uses Dayforce. The “one stop shop” saves so much time! We have a pretty complex set up and love that it simplifies it. This product will help stop mistakes from manual entry into multiple softwares. Our company is made up of 10 EINs and our employees work across 5-6 EINs in any given pay period. To have a system with 1 employee ID that can calculate OT across all companies, allocating correctly to each company and reporting correctly on the W2s was a lifesaver. For all managers to see the same employee scheduled at all of the different locations in central place provides a great communication tool without having to track down the other manager. For Payroll and HR to see the same employee in one area and not have to reenter them three times is invaluable.
  • One ID for an employee.
  • You can customize the set up to meet your needs.
  • Truly EVERYTHING can be customized within Dayforce. You can have layers upon layers of seniority, company structure, timesheet rules, etc.
  • Everything you do is real time. This makes it so easy to see where your labor costs are at any moment. The second an employees shift closes by them clocking out for the day, the hours are loaded into their time sheets and the system knows how much the employee needs to be paid. Even better, the minute Payroll opens the pay cycle, the employee can ALSO see how much their pay check is going to be. This puts the responsibility back on the employee to verify that their timesheets are correct.
  • Support has improved, but it is still in need of improvement. The response time could be faster. Although on pay day they are spot on and help immediately.
  • To be able to log in as an employee and only see what they see would be unbelievable! Dayforce has an unbelievably great self service portal, but when an employee has an issue, it is difficult to help them because you aren't able to log in and see what the employee is seeing due to the fact that you have more powers within the system.
  • Report writing has gotten much easier, but it still needs a little bit of work. In order to write reports in the system, you still need to know quite a bit about the system.
Dayforce is amazing for organizations that are currently using separate systems for time/HR/payroll. To be able to put all our your systems into one is invaluable. To be able to make the system your own is invaluable.

Ceridian Dayforce is not only utilized by our HR Department, but across the whole organization. Ceridian has been able to assist our company with: .
  1. Employee Data
  2. Reporting
  3. Performance Tracking
  4. Talent Management
  5. Employment Maintenance / Management
Previously, our organization managed many HR changes via a paper file. Dayforce has truly overall allowed us, as an HR department, to track and manage employees' employment profiles seamlessly as well as with necessary compliance measures in place.
  • Transfer/Promotion: As a member of our HRIS team who manages employee data, transfers and promotions are my personal favorite. The seamless and quickness of processing these requests makes our jobs clean and easy. In return, we are allowed to make the quick adjustment due to business needs.
  • Employee Relations: Team Relate is something that Dayforce does particularly well. With the recent update to the Team Relate, we are able to really get a deeper dive into the comparability between a manager and employee. Allowing our managers to really focus on engagement and truthfully tie into attrition across the company. With our company pillars, this really is a fine touch in driving home and provide the resources for our managers to live out our company motto.
  • Reporting: Reporting allows for our organization to quickly provide Operational Leaders and managers with real time data that is crucial to manage employees / business needs / business analytic / performance base, etc. What especially nice about this feature, is that we are able to generate reports to specific roles as well as auto delivering reports to specific leaders within the company.
  • HR Profile/Employee Tracking: The cleanliness and easy access to employee profiles is really what makes the job of our HRIS specialist that much simpler. With everything located in one place and quickly visible, it is without guarantee that this function is anyone favorite who is consistently working in the system daily on employee's profiles.
  • Within the new People screen, we are unable to have access to the employee file. The employee file is something that is crucial to our managers as well as our HRIS team and something that we utilize daily. For now, we are able to go through the old "My HR" screen, however, still looking for a new upgrade to provide the file feature.
  • I would like to see labor distributions easily readable in People. Right now the locations need to be populated in order to see if there is a labor distribution available.
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited in our organization for all our HR needs: employee tracking, talent management, performance management, reporting, and more. I do not see Dayforce being able to provide what we need in a LMS platform as well as for offer letters being generated through Dayforce. Based on our specific company needs, we would need more customization.

Dayforce is being used across all of our North American operations (and possibly internationally). We primarily use it for payroll, audit trails and electronically storing HR information. In Canada we also use it for time keeping and will begin shortly to use it for attendance.
  • As stated in the previous answer we utilize both the time and payroll features of Dayforce. This cross-function integration prevents us from having to import time data from another platform.
  • It also keeps all data on one platform so that it all flows between the different features and functionalities. For example, changing someone's time-sheet and then recalculating in payroll is intuitive and avoids going into another system to make the change and re-importing whole loads of time data.
  • The integration also maximizes attendance usage, as time data is tracked continuously under attendance and is adjusted with any time adjustments in real-time. This makes attendance and time flow between one another seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Dayforce's continuous calculation in general is a great capability of the system to make adjustments when they are necessary and see their effects immediately.
  • Payroll-complementing features such as report building, third-party remittance, organizational/job mapping for workers comp and year-end filing also work smoothly.
  • While I have been helped tremendously by Dayforce's customer support line, I think I would prefer if resolutions were made during that same call if business time allows for it for both sides of the transaction. While deferring resolutions through ticket logging is generally ideal, a call in might--generally speaking--call for resolution during that call, even if its not immediate. This would only apply to urgent issues of course and ticket logging through the support portal for less immediately urgent issues generally works just fine.
Great for cross functional integration and excels at payroll and features related directly to that aspect.

Ceridian Dayforce is used by our company for both HR and for payroll and is currently being used for all US and Canadian based employees. We went live back in October 2017.
  • Pairing you up with a company like business to ask questions.
  • Account Reps are always there for you, even after you go live!
  • Their product support.
  • Training could be better.
  • Performance module is new, but Ceridian is open to change.

We use this as our primary payroll system. It is used in a large part of our organization and it is currently being implemented throughout all of our locations. This includes North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
  • The reporting is flexible and easy to create with preformed topics to get the information you need
  • There is online help to follow which is informative when trying to learn how to use the application.
  • Problems can be added to online ticket system and tracked with the support staff responding quickly via a phone call for or email depending on the severity.
  • New reports at the end of the year are a normal occurrence when doing new implementations. There needs to be more flexibility to get these done in the time required. Development should be available all year.
  • The removal of Silverlight needs to be replaced quicker for a better browser experience.
If your business is in North America, Ceridian works well. Functionality works well when implemented in this location. When doing a global implementation, currency is very important piece of information and that is missing when reporting data.

Ceridian Dayforce is used by our whole organization. We are currently re-looking into the set up and reconfiguring the system before rolling out other features(I.e. performance management, compensation , etc). The majority of our employees are call center employees so we are looking toward rolling out schedules.
  • Able to process payroll/haven’t missed a payroll
  • User friendly
  • We’ve been having a lot of issues with our benefit feeds and having to do them manually
  • Reporting isn’t that great and can be improved - some of the canned reports are structured weird and makes it difficult to sort
  • Lots of things that Dayforce “can’t” do that their competitors can do
  • Supporting portal has gotten better but can be improved - language barrier with tickets being routed overseas
  • Dayforce charges for everything - simple fixes and escalated tickets to professional services are always $2,000+ sometimes it’s just for adding a column to a report
We came from Paylocity—which I think worked fine for a couple hundred employees but once we grew to 1,000, it wasn’t practical anymore - Dayforce can handle volume compared to Paylocity. I think Dayforce has a room for improvement (when compared to other competitors and things they can and cannot do).

We use DF for HR and payroll. We used the original Ceridian for both areas, however, it was more time consuming for payroll. Dayforce has allowed improved efficiencies for payroll and better tracking.
  • Related to payroll DF does well in improving payroll efficiencies. The ability to import data into future pays , as well as, multiple pay groups, has been a huge improvement to help us get ahead.
  • The link between HR benefits and payroll has been immense help in streamlining the benefits process and getting It into payroll.
  • We are fairly new with the system and from what we've seen so far we like a great deal. We were initially told that DF would allow a bonus to be input into an EE's HR file and it would be rolled into payroll, however , that does not work without the system adjusting an employee's annual compensation. We were also told that if an employee changed to a different state and they didn't change their address to the new one until a few months after that the system would adjust the taxes retroactively. This also does not occur. HR is having problems that I can't provide enough detail on.
For payroll I believe it is well suited, but, based on my HR department's frustrations, it hasn't worked well.

It is the timekeeping and payroll system for our company. Non-exempt employees use the system to clock in and out every day. All employees use it to view the pay stubs.
  • Allow for some automation - example, paying certain employees a shift bonus that is coded within the time cards. Saves hours as it was manual before to obtain.
  • Payroll process.
  • All one system - from HR to time cards to payroll.
  • Reporting - it is getting better, but still requires some tech skills. We want to be able to pull any information in the system no matter what table they are in.
  • Entitlements could be a little easier to setup.
  • Professional services - gets frustrating at paying for any help.
The one system is a major plus with no separate mainframe.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used across the whole organization. This helps us communicate with all employees and managers on a daily basis. All information is connected and we are able to work together on processes.
  • Calculating pay across timesheets and paystubs.
  • Configuration of features. You can make it as unique as you need to.
  • Having information available throughout the organization.
  • The Schedule Planning > Shift Rotation screen is hard to use and time consuming. It would be easier if it had a filter option in order to find employees and update their shifts instead of scrolling and individually selecting each day.
  • The authorizations on the Timesheets screen is not linking properly to the Pay Admin Checklist screen and does not reflect authorized records . If the screens can be linked more seamlessly, it would improve our processes.
  • Reports do not always work.

Dayforce is well suited when needing to communicate across the organization and information is readily available.

It is less suited when transferring information from one screen to another and sometimes it does not link over properly.

Dayforce could be improved if more features were seamless.

We are utilizing Ceridian Dayforce (CD) across the entire organization. CD has addressed the multiple systems that we had in place and provide one source for data.
  • The integration of data by not having to enter redundant data in each of the available modules.
  • The workflows (WFM) are such an advantage when applying compliance and consistency in applying processes. Also, inclusion of Leaders awareness of what is being applied in their respective areas.
  • Payroll / timekeeping integration with the numerous pay policies that we have installed in our organization along with customized work schedules.
  • Every module and process should have options for customizable Alerts / Notifications that can be integrated with MS Outlook and Email.
  • The Attendance Tracking function can be programmed to be more User friendly - along with customized reports.
  • The Recruiting module can be enhanced to allow customized declined letters or correspondences.
I can see the Ceridian continues to improve their products and be proactive to Clients needs.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used for general employee timekeeping/WFM across the entire organization. But it is heavily used by our HR department. Dayforce addresses our business needs for an integrated benefits/HR/payroll platform to run our internal business operations.
  • Highly customizeable via multiple features that have high level of detailed setup configurations. For example, the Entitlement feature allows you to set up very granular rules and timing recurrences for when/how employees should accrue sick/vacation/floating holiday time.
  • Continuous calculation of payroll. All changes made in the system can be brought up to current for payroll with the click of a button.
  • Automation of HR related Dayforce functions. Using the Data Mapping rules, you can configure Dayforce to automatically populate data into employee profiles, cutting down on manual administration.
  • Reporting. Dayforce's reporting tool is rather basic in what is readily available and understandable by customers without Support intervention. To really get the most out of the reporting tool, you need to have a good understanding of writing SQL queries and how Ceridian's database is constructed, which is not readily disclosed.
  • Upgrade releases. There are constant system upgrades and hotfixes being applied in the system. They come constantly and it can be hard to keep up with the constant changes and new features, but there are also the bugs that arise with each new release or hotfix that can interrupt daily operations.
  • Platform stability and speed. Because Dayforce is currently being migrated away from Silverlight and to HTML, the platform is unstable and prone to freeze or crash after prolonged usage.
Dayforce would be well suited to a company with a good HRIS team that is ready to study up on the system prior to implementation. Dayforce's high degree of customization makes it a powerful tool with great potential but requires great care in configuration and a solid grasp of all of the various features and tools packed within the software.

Using Dayforce would most likely be overkill and less desirable for smaller companies, as it can be difficult to constantly update and change the configuration of the company as company size and business complexity scale.

We presently use Dayforce for payroll and time and attendance. We also have our benefits and self service for employees with Dayforce. Honestly we have had some issues, this is why we have been to the conference.
  • Employee Friendly
  • Report writer
  • Benefits area - too many manual processes.
  • Leave of Absence
  • One size does not fit all.
  • Contacts that you work on for the feeds.
We were on Ceridian Source 500 we believed going to Dayforce would help us with our processes. Honestly we have gone backwards and have more manual processes. We believe it was our implementation team.

We will be using Dayforce across our whole organization for payroll, timekeeping, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance, and learning management. We are combining several of these processes into one system, and replacing some very non-functional systems. Dayforce will address several system limitations that we currently face, especially the ability for managers to maintain and approve timesheets and time off requests from a mobile device. Also, we currently do not have an online method for hourly employees to request time off; this will be fixed by Dayforce.
  • One employee record! This greatly simplifies the functionality of the many different Dayforce modules, since they are all driven by the same employee record. No problems with lack of communication between different databases.
  • Continuous payroll calculation. Because of the integration with one employee record, any change to an employee master record or benefits enrollment is instantly reflected in the payroll calculation, which can be checked and re-checked at any time during the pay period.
  • Flow of information from Recruiting, to Onboarding, to the HR employee record. Because of the integration, when a candidate applies for an open position and begins to enter their name and address, they are starting to build their own employee record. This cuts down on re-keying of data, which reduces data entry errors.
  • Better training for the ad hoc reporting module. The only way to really learn this now is by trial and error. It would be great to have a more detailed user guide and some advanced training courses.
  • Paycheck calculator for employees to try "what if" scenarios. This has been on the back burner for a while; would love to see it rolled out.
  • The HR import functionality is too complicated. It should be easier to mass import changes to a group of employees.
Any company over 300 employees would benefit from using Dayforce, especially if you need to combine functions like payroll, benefits, recruiting, or performance management. I wouldn't recommend Dayforce to a company less than 200 employees. It is too complex for them to get the full benefit.

It is going to be used across the organization with Manager and Employee self-service, workflows in performance management and hopefully with a lot of training the compensation management.
  • Puts HCM in the hands of employees and Managers to make informed decisions.
  • They have been around for a while and typically score as one of the top HCM software companies.
  • They listen to their customers in providing a better tool.
  • Support can sometimes be difficult to receive.
  • When moving from the legacy product, HPL, not all of our history was being brought over.
  • As we have started implementation we are getting a lot of 'no's to our requests for help on the legacy product.
Its mobile app puts the information in the palm of your employees hand.

Ceridian Dayforce is used by all employees. We love how easy Employee Self Service is to use no matter if you sit by a computer or work in the warehouse!
  • Ceridian wants to be your partner and wants you to succeed.
  • Ceridian employees are exceptional individuals who after a short time become your friends.
  • Ceridian continues to improve their products and push new things out in order to make clients lives easier.
  • Customer Support in my opinion needs more training.
  • Integration needs to be looked at as we and many other companies struggle with integrations. They are not programmed correctly and we spend hours on checking and rechecking them. Please, please fix it.
I think Ceridian is little behind with few things, for example:
- Ultimate Software's Customer Support is very flexible and I could give access to parts of it where Ceridian's Customer Support is ALL or nothing
- Payroll Chat on Line is another thing that Ultimate has and that is monitored by Ceridian Payroll Exports. Payroll only has to chat with them to get answers quickly. It is the responsibility of the Ceridian Payroll Exports to open a ticket on behalf of the customer. How great is that!
- Reporting (Cognos Chat on line) is another great thing that Ultimate has and that is monitored by Ceridian Cognos experts - same as with Payroll the Ceridian Cognos experts open ticket on behalf of the company.
The are many others where I would propose for you to make changes/modifications to stay on top of it.

Dayforce is being used across our entire organization to process payroll and distribute paychecks to the divisions and employees. We replaced our payroll system with Dayforce in 2015 and have loved it since making the transition. The ERP we use doesn't work greatly with Dayforce at the current moment but we have some ways to work around the issues.
  • Dayforce does a great job of working with it's customers to solve problems. The support site is simple to use and the customer service rep that you are assigned helps you escalate issues if they aren't getting escalated quick enough through the support site.
  • Dayforce has been pretty easy for us to use beginning from day 1. I haven't gone through a year end yet as I just moved into the payroll manager role and am curious to see how it goes.
I would recommend Dayforce to any payroll or human resource professional that is looking to improve upon their current payroll process. Dayforce makes it easy to transition and works with you to accomplish the goals that you deem important.

It's being used for human resources (workflows, recruiting, HCM), payroll processing, and benefits management.

We replaced ADP for more functionality and access to data, as well as for creating workflows to streamline our current form based system of submitting changes from benefits and human resources to the payroll department. This is still under development. Access to employer and employee payroll data and continuous payroll calculations is extremely helpful.
  • Continuous payroll calculations that allow you to enter payroll adjustments and see what the paystub looks like in real time, as well as view updated payroll reports.
  • Ceridian's online support center allows you to submit incidents to pose questions or fix technical issues within the system.
  • Web-based access to process payroll from any internet location.
  • While there is a lot of data available, it is difficult to develop custom reports from an end user perspective without help from Ceridian.
  • Customer support should have dedicated teams that have an in depth understanding for client databases, so that they can more effectively provide support.
  • Navigating around the system is not always quick. Ceridian needs to look at how to make this quicker, regardless of the size or complexity of the database.
While my list of Cons talks about speed in navigating around and difficulties associated with developing custom reports, I think there lies an immense potential within Dayforce once these issue are resolved. This is because of the vast amount of data that lies in the system - that needs to be understood and tapped into.

Across the entire organization: Time and Attendance, Self Service, Payroll.
  • Keeping track of entitlement balances for vacation, sick time, floating holiday.
  • Payroll processing for multistate locations.
  • Identifying tax jurisdictions based on where employees Iive/work and attaching these to employee records.
  • Simplify report writing.
  • Include tax documents, amendments, and inquiries of tax notices in Dayforce and get rid of source tax online.
  • Simply adding positions and locations to employee record.
Well suited for adding new hires and terminations to HR records. Well suited for Workflow Management and for approvals and identifying who made the changes. Also well suited for self service to employees- to add direct deposit info, address changes, tax updates etc.

Ceridian Dayforce is used by our organization to process payroll utilizing WFM, Benefits and Payroll.

We process a payroll almost every day due to the laws in Alaska and since we have layoffs almost every day when their fishing contracts end, this creates a lot of commits in Ceridian and we are able to have next day direct deposit.

  • The ability to commit with next day direct deposit.
  • The ability to create W2c's as needed, even though I only needed to submit a few.
  • The payroll register has the data I need for researching taxes.
  • Report writing, being able to add the fields I want without knowing how to select a different topic table.
  • The My Pay Silverlight feature is faster than the new Payroll HTML feature.
  • Being kicked out of the system frequently.
We have a unique set up within our Payroll and WFM features for Daily, Case and Annual workers. These hours are not always calculated correctly when they import into Payroll and we frequently need to research the cause of why this occurred. Some of this of course if our own internal process.

Alliant uses the Ceridian Dayforce WFM product across our whole organization. This product addressed our time & attendance issues.
  • Ceridian Dayforce's team members listen to their clients needs and helps them find solutions.
  • Customer support can use some improvement. May mean needing to hire more support staff as their client base grows.
Dayforce WFM is simple to use for our employees and easy for us to maintain.

Dayforce is our human capital management solution that handled all of our benefits, payroll, recruiting, performance review, and compensation needs. Before Dayforce, too many of our processes were manual and disconnected. Now, we are making smarter business decisions because of the information that is now readily available to our supervisors, managers, and executive teams.
  • Single platform connectivity.
  • Very intuitive user experience.
  • Customization to specific business needs.
  • Pricing is linear.
Their range of products in the Dayforce platform is exceptional - I haven't seen another software in its price range that competes.

Our company is currently using Dayforce HCM for Payroll, WFM, My Plan, T&A, Recruiting, Onboarding and recently added Performance. We used the system to streamline many aspects of the company; however, in my opinion, going paperless as soon as we started with Dayforce was a huge win for us!
  • Listening to customers and considering feedback for future releases
  • Compliance is always #1
  • Continuing to change with the times and pushing customers to stay ahead of the curve as well.
  • Moving from Silverlight to HTML has been a process. We would love to see updates on the HTML areas as well as the completion of moving from SL.
Dayforce is well suited for any company, big or small. Ceridian has the capacity to take on any sized client and help make work life better.

We are currently using it as our HRIS system, Payroll, and ATS. It is being using with in all of the departments in the company. Ceridian payroll system calculates the H&W rates and the sick time used for SCA contracts.
  • Calculates the H&W rates for payroll.
  • Allows you to track time off requests
  • New Hire Data Entry flow
  • Searching or filtering by company name is not a current feature, but would like to see int he future.
  • Being able to have the signature embedded into the application if we needed to print.
  • Have the applicant acknowledgement embedded into the application if we needed to print.
  • Payroll and calculating the H&W rate and sick leave when used.
  • Time off requests and using the application system to capture new hire data.
  • We would like to have the system flow through using the guided process once we are able to get that functionality working when the company decided to use it.

We use Dayforce across our entire organization, utilizing the Payroll, Recruiting/Onboarding, Benefits, HCM, and mobile modules the most. Before Dayforce we didn't have a uniform HCM system or an applicant tracking system, so Dayforce has provided us with this benefit.
  • Helping us with our talent management.
  • Benefits administration is much more automated now.
  • Payroll system talks to the rest of the modules in Dayforce, linking employee information automatically.
  • I think stronger implementation teams would be a plus - I have run across errors that our implementation team built into our system, and speaking with other users at other companies, they had similar experiences with implementation teams who were hard to contact and didn't give correct information.
Ceridian Dayforce doesn't seem to work very well with voluntary benefits for our employees - we have a lot of issues with end dating that occurs that requires us to do a lot of manual editing. Dayforce is great for keeping all of our employees' information in one place and sharing that information across the different modules, from applicant to employee.

We use Dayforce for all North America employees. We have ~25k employees. Employees can access their payslips via the MyPay option which is very easy to use. We currently have integrations from our time and attendance modules for 44 factories. We also have integrations from WD for EE data. We use a third-party for benefits and therefore have integrations to Dayforce for benefit deductions and arrears balances. Implementing Dayforce allowed us to have one payroll platform. When we merged to be KraftHeinz, Kraft and Heinz had different payroll systems.
  • Dayforce makes it simple for employees to view their paychecks. Efficiency is essential to employees.
  • Dayforce allows payroll admins to view payrolls and slice and dice and review for accuracy very easily. This is critical to successfully executing payroll.
  • Dayforce reports can be used to perform analysis of issues or assist with payroll audits requested by internal or external auditors. These reports are key to successful audits and ensuring payroll accuracy.
  • Even though reports that exist are a strength, I think this is always an area for improvement. Adding reports always provides room for additional analysis to be performed which can lead to improvements in processes.
  • We have had multiple issues with arrears. When we have a solution turned on such as impromptu arrears, it resulted in a new issue which ended up being a defect which we are waiting on the hot fix currently.
  • I do not think it is easy to understand what features are provided in new releases and hotfixes. It would be great to offer demos or web casts to provide improved communication for features provided in new releases.
Dayforce is a good system to process payrolls. Thorough testing should be performed for complicated scenarios / companies. If companies like us have external inputs, that potentially leads to additional complexity that needs to be tested when fixes are put in for other customers to avoid creating issues like we have currently. After speaking to other customers at INSIGHTS, smaller companies who use multiple Ceridian modules have a much better experience.
