We use Dayforce for Onboarding, Timekeeping, and Payroll Processing. Being able to have one program manage all these and more has been amazing. I love the education center and all the in-person trainings that they offer, in addition to having the Ceridian support team available for any issues that may arise.

I have used Dayforce for almost 6 years at two companies that could not have been more different. My experience with Dayforce at both has been great. From a large company in healthcare to a small hospitality company- Dayforce meets all our needs. I love being able to have everything in one system. Onboarding, timekeeping, managing TAFW, employee engagement, HR policies and signoffs, it really just does it all.

We wanted a way to decrease the numerous platforms we were asking our employees to use, and this gave us one solution for all of it! We use Ceridian Dayforce for Payroll, Benefits, HR, Recruiting, Onboarding, Engagement, Performance, Compensation, and Learning. It has simplified our administration and access to our employees, as well.
  • The Hub is a great customizable landing page where we can post announcements, link to external links or upload files. It has been fantastic!
  • The electronic benefit enrollments through Dayforce have greatly simplified our benefit administration.
  • We love the connection between Performance, Learning, and Compensation. Everything connects together in the system, so you can reference what you need when you need it!
  • It would be great if they had a corrective action functionality built in. That is one thing that is really missing.
  • As an Admin, it would be very helpful to be able to log in as an employee to see what problems they are having in the system.
  • We would LOVE to be able to give high fives or some sort of recognition from one employee to another.
Good for larger companies who have a lot of services they provide for their employees. Not great for smaller businesses with less headcount or that only do bare minimum modules.

Lumos inherited Ceridian Dayforce during a company divestiture. I was hired due to my experience with Ceridian Dayforce with another employer, AdvanSix. AdvanSix is an integrated supply chain, Chemical Processing company with roughly 2000 direct hires and 200 - 400 contractors. All of which were tracked within Ceridian Dayforce. When the AdvanSix team was implementing Ceridian Dayforce, they were implementing Ceridian Dayforce modules to replace other applications. For example, HR, Talent Acquisition, and Benefits replaced ADP, Payroll replaced Kronos with Ceridian Dayforce, and the Cooperate education team replaced Sum Total with Ceridian Dayforce. This was a big project. I supported many of these teams. Since coming to Lumos, I have used this experience to automate several processes. At Lumos, we have increased the amount of metadata collected by utilizing Employee Data Mapping rules and employment properties, which in turn enhances our reports, and communications with downstream systems. Employee Data Mapping rules were used by AdvanSix to assign union rate tables to specific jobs on the employment record. At Lumos, we are always improving processes by creating custom forms, HR Policies, approval workflows, and notifications. If you have Analysts with experience in XML and SQL, you can bring a lot of improvements to processes and analytics quickly.

Ceridian Dayforce is flexible software; if your application support team is creative and compliant minded, Ceridian Dayforce will work for all industries. You get what pay for... hire Ceridian consultants for your implementation. I have experienced (24 years in HR) too many problems with software implementations using third-party consultants. Also, demand the 'A' team for your projects. It will cost you, but it is money well spent. The general application support is good but needs improvement with customer engagement related to, EDI file, Tax Services, and Garnishment support. They are slow to respond, have 'canned' responses, and generally take a long time to resolve issues.

We utilize Ceridian Dayforce for the time punching capabilities in the browser, on timeclocks, and on tablets. The Clock+ on tablets help our departments that do not have internet in their buildings. Some employees use Ceridian Dayforce mobile to punch in and out of the clock. These employees work in various locations in the county. We use Ceridian Dayforce's import capabilities to load in complicated Sheriff schedules and time away from work.

I love the different clocking capabilities between clocks, tablets, and mobile, but I do not like that not all reports are on one screen. Also, I don't like the fact that forms cannot be filled out on Ceridian Dayforce mobile.

I use Ceridian Dayforce for WFM, Payroll, Onboarding, Data Analytics, and Doc Mgmt. With the usage and enhancement of Ceridian Dayforce modules, I can automate many currently paper-based processes. We are able to reduce errors by automating the processes. The payroll module has been particularly very helpful in managing payments & taxes. We would be looking to include the Ceridian Dayforce Recruiting module in 2023 to have a one-stop shop for our employees and business processes for better data management and enhance our talent management system.
  • Employee Data Mapping Rules is a very strong and useful feature which automates and protects the employee HR records.
  • Ceridian Dayforce Education has been very helpful in understanding many processes which become sometimes difficult to understand/follow. ILT courses do provide good insights.
  • More ILT classes need to be opened. Sometimes, we need to take a course, and it takes months for the course to be available.
  • Reporting could be made more user-friendly. Providing custom fields examples and better ways to learn would be helpful.
As I mentioned earlier, Ceridian Dayforce makes automating processes very helpful such as Employee Data Mapping Rules. Where Cascading rules can be implemented, and anytime a change occurs in the EE HR Record, those rules will be implemented based on the qualifiers.

Ceridian Dayforce reporting could be made more user-friendly. Sometimes, it gets challenging to get the correct data if someone is not very skilled.

  • One system for payroll and time & attendance. No need to pass information between systems.

It integrates well with other systems. It's very innovation and can be easily set up for your company's needs.

We use Dayforce for payroll, time and attendance, benefits and various other modules like talent management. The benefits module provides an easy and accurate annual enrollment annually. The other modules like talent etc. are great for smaller organizations but not for larger. Dayforce continues to release new modules items without necessarily fixing issues that impact day-to-day administrators.
  • Benefits
  • HUB
  • Compensation Module
  • Performance Management
  • Time and Attendance
  • Reporting
There are certain modules that have not been updated in years. Example: Performance module does not allow for HR Admin to view all comments or terminated goals. If someone terminates, their goals go away or if someone doesn't tag a comment correctly then HR can't view it. This is a legal liability and appears nothing is being done to correct. Time and attendance has major issues as well, if someone changes jobs their future holidays pay to their old job as they are calculated ahead of time. This causes major issues as well. Dayforce does a great job with the HUB tool allowing for customized landing pages.

Ceridian Dayforce is the core Human Capital Management (HCM) and workforce management (WFM) application used across our entire organization, spanning 13 different countries. We also use it for Payroll processing in the USA and Canada, and timesheet recording for payroll in other countries. It is the single Performance Management tool for the organization as well.
  • Fantastic reporting capabilities for HR
  • Excellent entitlement tracking when configured properly
  • Fairly intuitive user interface
  • Application support seems to be taking longer and longer.
  • Application training is improving, but has room for further growth.
Ceridian Dayforce is great for an SMB (Small to Medium Business), and I have successfully used it in an organization exceeding 6000 employees. The core HR functionality is great regardless of country, as I am currently deployed in 13 widely disparate countries. The capabilities for managing the different entitlements by country are second to none, but do require an excellent understanding of how to configure them appropriately - that is biting us now as we further expand our footprint, but that is an organizational issue and not on Ceridian.

Dayforce is used by all employees, from frontline reception staff to ownership. As clients of Ceridian since 2007 and with ADP prior to that we always are seeking software partners that are willing to listen and grow with us to enhance both our staff and member experience. Any software that can save time, while instilling confidence to not always be in front of the pc, the more time we can spend helping members and our community lead healthier lives!
  • Single user experience allows for less duplicate entry, streamlined reporting and greater accuracy/compliance on all levels.
  • Flexibility in reporting.
  • Customer support portal.
  • XOXO client to client think tank to share ideas and brainstorm solutions and best practices. This program has recently been improved to BluePrint
  • Expansion of Mobile App capabilities
  • Increase collaboration with configuration centered on Compliance without redirecting to Professional Services for an additional product fee
  • Enhance Content Library in Learning Module to eliminate need to go to 3rd party vendor
Dayforce is a solution for any organization that cares about its employees, wants transparency, and desires to supply the best tools to make proactive decisions when it comes to work force management.

Dayforce was implemented 3 years ago as a comprehensive HCM solution for our entire company. We currently use Dayforce for time and attendance, payroll, benefit management and HR. After reviewing other vendors, we felt that Dayforce was the only system that could deliver a fully integrated single record solution. We have visibility to our data that wasn't possible with our old provider.
  • I have used many systems in the past for payroll processing, and Dayforce is the best. It is easy to use and very fast.
  • It is a fully integrated system. It is nice to have a solution that has time up to date in payroll without any additional processing steps.
  • ACA management is very easy and 1095 generation is tied directly to benefits management.
  • Reporting is weak.
  • Benefits management is challenging.
  • Scheduling is time consuming.
Dayforce is very scalable and has made acquisitions easy. Dayforce offers a wide variety of solutions, but many of them are not as robust as competitors. The reporting tool does not provide an option to create custom sql reports, so there are time where you have to utilize professional services to get a custom report.

We use Dayforce for a variety of HR process including Recruitment, onboarding, HR policy sign off, payroll & benefits administration, workforce management (including time away and employee job / status changes), scheduling, and reporting, We are also implementing performance and succession planning in 2023.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Recruiting module
  • Onboarding module
  • Support - their analysts are very knowledgeable about a particular area but often the issue we are trying to resolve involves expertise from a variety of areas and a fix in one areas breaks something in a another area (
Their implementation practices have come along way and they provide a guided configuration option that put the knowledge and control in the clients' hands to build what's appropriate for their company.

Ceridian Dayforce is used as our HCM platform. Users are able to see their paycheck stubs, view PTO accruals, see their benefits package, change or update tax forms, etc. As an employee, I use this every couple of weeks to review my pay, as well as any time I am taking PTO.
  • Nothing on the end user side, it is a poor experience compared to other systems.
  • UX/UI - it feels very dated and is not intuitive. Mobile is different than desktop and is very confusing.
  • Too many clicks to get anything done. Due to the dated design, it takes a lot of clicks to find the right place and typically ends in frustration when using.
Ceridian Dayforce is one of the worst HCM platforms I have ever used. It constantly has me reassociate to my organization, the UI/UX is terribly dated, and there is nothing intuitive about this platform. If I could rate this a 0, I would.

It is used by the whole organization and it addresses payroll and HR administration. We use the employee self service module and one positive thing is that employees are able to view their paychecks online now. We used to use UltiPro before and while it was more powerful it was more expensive.
  • Payroll processing
  • Easier reporting
  • Employee Self service
  • Slow loading bar
  • Mobile limitations
  • Implementation team does everything for you so you don’t really know how to fix something later.
Ceridian Dayforce is good for payroll processing but in terms of HR we had to buy other systems to do what ULTIPRO used to do before such as I-9 management onboarding performance reviews disciplinary actions. We were able to get rid of our ACA management software but more was promised to us during the sales meeting than the product really can perform.

We adopted Ceridian Dayforce to use as a central go-to for time-card punches, personal time-off submissions, benefits, earnings statements, etc. Trying to find one central software solution for all things employee and HR-related was key. This had high hopes.
  • Earning statements
  • W2 forms
  • Submit time off requests
  • From the employee's view, time card punching is very unclear; hard to tell what was submitted or punched and see any hour totals.
  • There needs to be space for benefit details; currently, we're still using an old system that was to sunset for all our benefits information.
  • Messaging is constantly erring. I'll get "2nd notification" messages when I never received a "1st". I'll also get message notifications, and find nothing at all has been received.
It has high potential, but the functionality seems old and outdated. It is not very user-friendly. Also, areas are hard to find (i.e., employee profiles, pay change forms, benefit change forms, etc).

Primary it is used to pay employees and remit the correct amount of statutory deductions to the appropriate government departments. The reports are used to record the appropriate salary expense in our financial statements. Other reports are used in our human resource planning.
  • Easy upload of hours and other payroll information for each pay
  • Easy to create custom reports
  • Analytics are useful
  • Employee self serve
  • All reports should have an option to download into Excel or csv
  • If a stop payment is done, then automatic adjustment to the employees pay
  • Ability to change the benefit calculation ourselves
Ceridian Dayforce is well-suited to be customized to the company's requirements. Some of the custom report creation can be easier.

Ceridian Dayforce is used in our organization for timekeeping (including overtime and sick and vacation tracking), payroll (including direct deposit and tax forms), and benefits management (including open enrollment, beneficiary delegations). The scope of our usage of Ceridian Dayforce is our operations based in the United States covering approximately 750 employees.
  • Tax forms
  • Open Enrollment
  • Direct Deposit setup
  • Electronic pay stubs
  • Time tracking - Not intuitive on updating a schedule
  • Leave tracking - Not intuitive on updating a schedule
  • Leave balances - Not always clear what's been added and used
Ceridian Dayforce is one of the large human capital management (HCM) system providers. I would expect most large organizations would have it on their shortlist if evaluating HCM providers. It has a variety of modules in the HR space. Our usage is limited to payroll and benefits for the United States. As an end user, I find it to be fairly intuitive and the integrations with other systems (SuccessFactors, third party benefits providers) in my experience has worked without issue.

I used it as an HR generalist, one of the biggest problems is how easily there are errors within the system. There could be more improvement on it being more user-friendly. I also used it on the talent acquisition side, and the system was unable to link to our ATS. Ceridian also did not have a reminder system that created holes within the system and stayed up with compliance.
  • Back button to bring you back to the last profile you were viewing.
  • Geo-fencing is impressive.
  • SSO
  • Easy look up to find even old employees.
  • Benefits functions on HR side, too much manual entry.
  • I know it’s for protection purposes but it gets annoying when you constantly need to input a security code texted to you.
  • Wish the onboarding progress page for managers can automatically update instead of being needed to manually update.
Looking up employee profiles was much easier to manage. Dayforce Is very suitable for big companies with a lot of employees that need to be managed and their profile is easily accessed. The biggest hiccup for me is The inability to automatically track the onboarding process when files have been uploaded. I also believe that the uploading file section can be improved and the titling of the files can be automatic instead of manually typing it in.

We’re using Dayforce throughout our organization for WFM, payroll, recruiting, benefits administration and (eventually) for learning. The decision to purchase Dayforce was driven by our need to automate our payroll process and maintain compliance on leave and overtime rules, among other things.
  • Track employee time and attendance
  • Automate the payroll process
  • Make self-service available to employees for a lot of HR functions
  • Dayforce Live training is disorganized; it has been very difficult to figure out what training should be done when, and by whom.
  • Some of the custom configurations that were promised to us during the sales process have turned out to be impossible in implementation.
  • The Ceridian implementation team seems to be rushing us through the process; we ended up having to hire an outside consultant to help guide us through the implementation and set more realistic expectations for the teams.
Dayforce would be great for a new business or one in an early growth mode. More established businesses with complicated organizational structures and unique pay schemes may find difficulty getting Dayforce to conform to those uncommon needs. Our highly mobile workforce and fluid org structure have proven to be quite challenging for the implementation team.

I was the main administrator of Ceridian Dayforce. I used it almost every second day in the last three years. Automatic payroll and time off policies were a big solution for all employees. I used it to process payroll, hire new employees, onboard, employee benefits, time off policies, multiple reports, and processing year-end.
  • Onboarding was simple.
  • Multiple types of reports.
  • Payroll and benefits administration.
  • Year end.
  • Recruitment.
  • Onboarding with different department.
  • Performance management.
In terms of payroll, Ceridian Dayforce is very user-friendly. A new user can learn quickly how to process payroll. The data entry and some features such as payroll preview or employee pay statement are available immediately on the main screen, which is very easy to check the data before you process the payroll.

It is great for already hired employees. After you are already working with us to use the system is great for benefits, pay stubs, forms to fill out, time off requests. But prior to hire, we did not think the ATS system was ready for tracking applicants. There were many features such as bulk messaging applicants that were not available yet.

It is used across the entire organization. It has helped to automate and digitize a number of processes as well as streamline tasks and provide analytics.
  • Onboarding is wonderful! It took everything off paper for new hires and made the process fool proof
  • Performance has been a huge help. It keeps our employees engaged and builds a better employee/manager relationship
  • Scaling to size. I feel like our org is so slow because of the size of our organization built out. Speed would be a huge help.
  • It's glitchy all the time. Consistently kicked out of the system and having to reload.
  • The ATS has poor reporting and functionality.
Works well for employees from hire to completed pay cycle. Recruiting has many limitations and the Compensation module needs refining.

We use Ceridian Dayforce for our entire association. We have different roles set up in the system for different levels of access. Our employees mainly use it to clock in/out, update personal information, view their earning statements, and W2's. Our managers use it to approve their staff's payroll. And our HR team uses it as well.
  • Cloud-based system that can be accessed remotely
  • One system for many HR functions
  • Support center that is easily accessible in case issues/questions arise
  • I have only had a handful of encounters with support specialists who weren't pleasant/helpful
  • Reporting is not the easiest feature to use
  • PPACA is not super easy to use either
Overall, I really like Ceridian Dayforce and would recommend it to colleagues. I feel like we have only scratched the surface of what we could use the system for and we are constantly learning new things that help increase efficiency within our department and association.

We use Ceridian Dayforce within our entire US offices. We use the HRIS system, time management, and payroll.
  • Honestly, nothing [in my opinion].
  • [It is] not user-friendly.
  • [In my experience,] implementation did not go well from the start.
  • [In my experience,] I can't even have my employees change their own address; if I do, they won't do it as Ceridian [Dayforce] wants them to and it will mess up something in their benefits.
  • [I feel] reporting is NOT good or easy.
  • [I] tried to set up onboarding and recruiting, but didn't work [for me], so we don't use it.
  • We wanted to use the mobile app, but because we didn't trust the system, we never had it implemented.
  • [In my opinion,] customer service is horrible. I pay to call my consultant first before I will try customer service.
[In my opinion, it is] not suited for manufacturing, may be better suited for retail.......
