Ceridian Dayforce is our comprehensive Human Capital Management (HCM) system providing us with HR administration, HR analytics, Employee/Manager Self Service, Payroll, Talent, Compensation Management, and Time and Attendance solutions. It is being used enterprise-wide to support our employees through the employment life cycle. We implemented in 2018 and the product has solved numerous HR challenges and centralized much of our HR experience into one platform for our employees.
  • Product innovation
  • Managing complex pay & time off polices
  • Service andsSupport
  • Integrated services and software
  • Position management and dynamic org planning.
  • Reporting design can be challenging and requires technical aptitude.
  • Lacks an integrated HR service center and ticketing capability.
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for employers with a high degree of complexity in their HR policies and procedures. It can handle almost any complexity that is thrown at it regarding divergent pay policies, union rules, time off plans, etc. We have been able to automate almost all of the manual work we were doing in previous systems to manage the complexity in our policies presented by heavy representation of our front line workforce by several different unions. Ceridian is also great for employers who desire a one-stop-shop for both the delivery of software and HR services. For example, payroll logistics and tax services are native offerings to Ceridian vs. outsourced to a 3rd party, thus streamlining your relationship between software and service providers in HR.

We use Ceridian Dayforce across our entire company. We have locations in BC and AB and employees in the USA. We complete all of our payroll processing through Dayforce and it makes payroll so easy. Many of the steps are automated, making many payroll and HR tasks more efficient. We are implementing the Performance and Compensation modules and they are going to help with tracking performance reviews on an annual basis. Dayforce will send reminders out when reviews are due so they will not get missed by managers. Dayforce has also made employee location tracking easier during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have been very impressed with how easy it is to use, and the knowledge base has been extremely helpful when learning new features. I would highly recommend using this program to any company. I have used it at 3 different employers now and I continue to be impressed.
  • The payroll module makes it easy to pay our employees accurately and on time.
  • The customer service representatives are amazing and extremely knowledgeable.
  • The timesheets make tracking time-off requests really easy for managers.
  • It would be nice to test other roles as an administrator without having to change that employee's password.
  • When editing the XML portion in the form builder, each time I save my changes it resets back to the first form. It would be nice if it would keep the form you are working on open.
I have used Ceridian Dayforce at 3 different employers. Each place used it differently. I love the punch clock option. It really makes time tracking easy for payroll purposes. Managers know when employees are at work or away. The compensation module makes giving raises or merit increases or bonuses easy for upper management to control. They can assign ranges or budgets for managers so they have limitations. You can also set up approval levels so that the increases must be approved by upper management.

We use this company-wide for all HR processes. It addresses our WFM, payroll, benefits management, performance management and more.
  • Payroll is very easy to process.
  • Benefit management is easy and integrates with vendors well.
  • Performance management is great.
  • We need a better leave management process. Ideally a new module would be great.
  • Auditing capabilities are very limited in the system.
  • Configuration changes can be difficult and without proper knowledge, Ceridian likely will charge you for anything you want changed.
Well suited to handle day to day payroll tasks, scheduling and time keeping, performance and comp mgt, employee records, etc. Dayforce could be better equipped to integrate with other systems, pay bands, etc.

It is used by the whole organization at different levels. It’s addresses payroll, HR management, and project hours tracking.
  • Support is great.
  • Having resources available.
  • Easy to use.
  • Timesheet linking to the employee's profile.
  • More reporting options.
It is best suited to organizations that are ready to adopt online options. I feel like the more you use it, the better the system is.

We have 4 affiliated companies within our production site. Each business has completely separate operations, pay practices, shift rotations and implementation dates. We use Dayforce HCM for payroll processing, onboarding and Time & Attendance. Ceridian Dayforce provides us with the flexibility required by ea. company.

The Mexichem Companies were operating completely separate for many years. When we transitioned to Dayforce Payroll, we are now sharing best practices and helping each other. While separate, we are now operating as a team! Our learning curve has been steep because of our separate implementations in Time & Attendance.
  • Flexible configuration
  • User Training
  • User Friendly
  • Support model
  • Implementation model (used external partners to implement)
  • Costly when changes need to be made
Before recommending Dayforce, I would have to gauge the technical proficiency of my peer.

Dayforce is highly configurable providing there is capital available to implement or make changes.Dayforce has training resources available to learn but I still have to consult support to configure correctly. Users must be knowledgeable.

We use Dayforce as our HR and Payroll system of record.
  • Houses all information in one place
  • Payroll process is fairly simple
  • It's not designed for a company as complex as ours and we have had to "make it work" in some cases
  • Does not handle employees working at multiple legal entities well
  • Many branches of the product that do not work well.

We use Ceridian Dayforce for many functions of our company. We use the following modules/solutions
Workforce Management, Recruiting, Learning Management System, Payroll, Time and Attendance, Human Resources and Benefits. These modules all work cohesivley together which makes the the job of administering these functions much easier and more efficient. Also, the Ceridian support team is great and provides great service when we encounter an issue.
  • Staying on top of HRIS tech trends
  • Great support team
  • The easy flow of data between modules
  • Provide more training opportunities for end-users
  • Make configuring workflows/forms easier for new admins
  • Transitioning from Silverlight to HTML has been hard to adjust - more support needed
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for any company, regadless of size or industry. Ceridian Dayforce provides the Admins with flexibility to configure the system to meet the company's business needs. I can't think of a situation where Dayforce wouldn't be an solution for a company looking for a HRIS.

Dayforce is used across the whole organization. We currently use it for Payroll Processing, benefits management, and time management. The system has sped up how we run reports and use that information to apply for the grants that keep our doors open MUCH faster. Payroll is something that used to take days and now is a few hours. Time management was non existent and we can now see patterns in work that we were unable to see before.
  • Payroll processing is smooth and efficient.
  • The system is very user friendly.
  • Mass rate changes are a pain to process. I find doing upload to be challenging.
  • When I went live there were many bugs but things I wouldn't be able to see until I ran the system for a while. The implementation team leaves too quickly. The amount of tickets I had to open was frustrating.
Dayforce is amazing for onboarding new employees. It has the capacity to have all the things necessary to walk a new employee through the steps. I find my employees (once in the system) find it very user-friendly. Entering time data is straight forward and them being held accountable for what is in the system has increased greatly. Mainly, Dayforce saves time and everyone can use a little bit more of that.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used across the whole organization. We instituted it last year and now everyone is using it. It addresses the problems of having a centralized internal portal for payroll and benefits. We have been needing something for performance evaluation, and through Dayforce we will have that ability.
  • Payroll.
  • Benefits.
  • Mobile app.
  • Commuter benefits.
I think it's a very useful tool that's well suited to most companies out there. I think a smaller company would not be suited for it, but a mid to the large-sized company would benefit greatly from having Dayforce. For companies that already have a solid system for benefits and payroll, it would be less appropriate.

We use Ceridian Dayforce across our whole organization, and we encourage employees to use the mobile app. I would say that we use 90% of the modules offered in Dayforce. Dayforce is a one-stop-shop with all of our employee information in one system, we do not have to enter duplicate information into different systems. Saving time in every department, across the board. For example; our Managers can easily see TAFW requests, create employee schedules and review their employee's Timesheets. When they approve the TAFW, it automatically shows up in the employee's schedule and/or Timesheets.

And for our HR and Payroll team, if we update an employee's file to show that they are on a leave of absence, the system automatically begins calculating benefit arrears. When the employee returns, the system then begins deducting the arrears from the employee's paychecks until the arrears are caught up. We don't have to create spreadsheets to track this information and we can trust the information.

  • Dayforce is fully integrated, a one-stop-shop! All employee information is in one system and moves quickly throughout it. This is particularly helpful when a wage change goes through in the middle of a pay period or when completing a retro wage change. You can see the change, including the retro change, right in the employee's Timesheet, which automatically feeds over into Payroll.
  • Dayforce makes benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment simple. The system remembers what benefit programs the employee has participated in and the employee's beneficiary information.
  • Dayforce is very customizable. You can create shift rotations, pay policies and attendance management policies based on the needs of your company.
  • Dayforce does not have a paycheck calculator and it would be great if it did!
  • Dayforce could do better with basic reporting, ie: 401(k), garnishments, etc.
I feel Dayforce can be adjusted to fit the needs for every different type of company. Dayforce is very customizable and a has a great integration of all things HR and Payroll. Even for our crazy laws here in California.

Ceridian Dayforce has been fully implemented at all levels of our organization. It provides a seamlessly integrated HR system for all facets of our employee's work life. With Dayforce, our workforce is engaged and rusts the accuracy of their payroll, benefits, and HR record. Our managers are able to efficiently manage their workforce and have data at their fingertips necessary to make business decisions.
  • Fully Integrated HRIS solution
  • Accurate payroll delivery
  • HTML migration
  • Improved integration with retirement plan
Of course, the larger the organization, the more Dayforce makes sense. But even with our 350 employees, it is the right solution. I don't see this being a good solution for a smaller organization of less than 100.

We are using Ceridian Dayforce for HR/Payroll purposes only at this moment.
  • WFM is very convenient
  • Running payroll is quick
  • Accurate entitlement policy, such as vacation balances
  • Report design should be more friendly to use
Whenever I terminate an employee from previous payroll and generate ROE, it is a bit challenging with vacation payout. Dayforce does not auto payout. I had to calculate and put "vacation payout" manually in quick entry.

Also, the implementation team should have more knowledge of both payroll and HR to map the program and the importance of all the data coming from other programs to Dayforce.

We used Dayforce across the whole organization. Is allowed us to house the data for our Canada and US entities. It significantly reduced the amount of administrative work our company was doing on a day to day basis. Our management team loved having access to their employee information (vacation, contact information).
  • Vacation integrated with payroll.
  • User-friendly.
  • Not highly customizable.
  • Implementation is a heavy process.
Dayforce is well suited in any environment where there is a lot of manual administrative work being done. The solution provides employees and their managers a lot of information at their fingertips. It simplified vacation tracking and ensures compliance. IT may be less well suited in a large organization that needs more customized fields.

We are currently planning to use the system across the entire organization. It will help us with talent management, recruiting, and payroll processing. Ease of use and user experience are the primary reasons for selecting Dayforce.
  • User-Friendly
  • Visually appealing
  • Customization of options for admin
  • Lengthy implementation.
  • Not fully understanding the business that you are implementing.
Dayforce is well suited for companies that are trying to improve their employee experience. Talent management, employee training, and employee engagement are key to the Ceridian platform with our company. It may be less appropriate for companies that are smaller and have less employees just due to the heavy implementation and customization of the system.

We have just implemented the system across our three plant locations. Right now it is mainly time and attendance, but in the next couple of months we plan on expanding to use the benefits, recruiting, and self-service modules.
  • Info all on one platform
  • Lots of potential for analytics
  • Always coming up with new and better uses to make HR better
  • Implementation was really rough with the team we had
  • It is a little pricey
  • Support hours aren't necessarily 24/7
Not every business realizes the functionalty and benefit that the whole package can bring.

It is being used by our line managers to schedule, by payroll to pay, and by HR as an HCM. It allows us to retain employee records and pay employees.
  • Pay our staff
  • Allows access to employee records
  • Allows staff to switch shifts
  • Recruitment module
  • Things don't always work as planned
Well suited for simplicity unless you want to pay for adjustments.

We utilize Dayforce across the full business. We use it to manage schedules within our assisted living communities for better coverage tracking. We’re starting to use it for performance and compensation management. The feeds for our benefit packages are great when they work. Getting them right has been a struggle.
  • Time and attendance
  • Talent acquisition
  • Benefit administration
  • Vendor feeds
  • Organizational structuring
Everything for payroll, taxes, and benefits in one connected module. Automated feeds are very useful and provides vendors with timely and accurate information. One of the drawbacks is that feeds are difficult to change if something in your internal processes needs to be modified. Make sure you get your feeds right to begin with.

We use it for payroll, benefits and HR onboarding for our new hires. It’s a great system that we’re able to use for multiple functions across the organization.
  • Multiple business functions
  • Easy to run off cycles to pay employees as soon as possible if any pay errors occur.
  • Stores a lot of information
  • System bugs need to be fixed, for example, sometimes certain forms in the onboarding don’t work.
  • Better formatting for reports, being able to run reports for all data such as PTO balances.
It’s great that you can check an employee’s pay instantly rather than having to run a preview and waiting for it to be ready to view. The employee self-service is great, giving them the chance to update their own information at any time. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand the messages and errors/warnings after you’ve imported a file so I think that can be improved to make it simpler for the user.

It is being used throughout the organization. Our employees use the self service and remote app. We use payroll , benefits, recruiting and onboarding.
  • The mobile app is a great resource and user-friendly. Our employees find it easy to use. I love the new enhancements.
  • The Education Center is a valuable tool. I can find about anything I need.
  • Overall the HRM solution is easy to navigate and learn.
  • In Recruiting when copying a job requisition, it would be helpful if the posting copied as well. At least to have the option.
Overall, the solution is a good choice. It is an easy to learn system for end users and employees. Personally, I like more hands-on during implementation. It was difficult to take over after implementation because I didn't fully understand the behind the scenes process. Would also recommend some short "best practice" videos to users.

We are an entrepreneurial business that is streamlining our processes and implementing best practice to push us into the right direction. We have only just started, but we are excited to see what Ceridian can do for our business in the long run. So far we have implemented the Payroll and HCM components and have recently implemented the recruiting module.
  • Mobile Dayforce app for employees reduces the paper paystubs. Employees have the ability to access the schedules and pay in real time on their personal devices.
  • Reduces paper - now that we have implemented the recruiting module, we no longer have paper applications or requisition forms. Everything is controlled and managed online.
  • Processes are further streamlined and managers are held accountable by the system through recruiting, onboarding, schedules.
  • Lifetime hours of employees on paystubs
  • Dollar amounts accrued and days on paystubs
  • A chat function
The performance management, compensation and development elements are fantastic in how they all integrate. Now we can remove paper and multiple spreadsheets which lead to human error. The more modules you have the more the data you can collect through the HR Metrics module.

We are using Dayforce across our whole organization. The modules that we purchased are recruiting, payroll, comp., benefits, talent and performance management, scheduling and advanced scheduling. Moving to Dayforce has fixed a multitude of problems that we were previously experiencing, the biggest one being a multitude of disjointed systems that didn't communicate with each other. We also had a lot of manual processes in place simply because our systems didn't allow us to automate it. With having everything in place we no longer have to go to multiple systems to find what we were looking for.
  • Understand their customers and listens to feedback when looking at new features.
  • During implementation, it seems like they throw a lot at you at the very beginning and we found that a lot of the times they were putting the cart before the horse.
Ceridian is great if you have an organization that is highly complex and needs a system that can be completely customizable. It's also very well suited for organizations that are in multiple states and/or countries. They have all applicable taxes and employment laws already in the system so you don't have to think twice about accurate data.

Here at Orvis all of our departments use Ceridian Dayforce to clock in and out of shifts as well as in and out of breaks and lunch. Most of the employees use it for keeping up with their schedules as well as requesting time off. Ceridian Dayforce also allows us to transfer between departments so management can see when each employee was in which department.
  • Ceridian Dayforce does well at allowing us to clock in.
  • Ceridian Dayforce Is great for keeping up with your schedule and requesting time off.
  • Ceridian Dayforce is also great for tracking what employees are working in which department.
  • once you have finished typing in your employee number it automatically enters without confirmation so it's easy to clock someone else in or out if you press a wrong number.
  • On occasion, punches don't seem to register but this is rare but ongoing.
  • Ceridian Dayforce will freeze up occasionally but closing it and reopening it works to fix that.
Ceridian Dayforce is only used for scheduling, clocking in and out, tracking peoples on the clock times and locations. It also keeps track of your previous time worked so you can look back to see when you worked previously. It really has no function beyond the schedule and the time clock functions.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used by the whole company for our HR needs. We use it for payroll, time off, clocking in and out, and benefits. They have a website and also an app that works very well together. It helps to have everything in one place and not have to use several different companies for each HR process. This way you login to one place and can take care of everything. Works very well.
  • It logs as you punch in and punch out.
  • You can see the history of all your punch ins and punch outs, and days you are scheduled to work.
  • It shows you allowed time off and how much is left.
  • It has pay-stubs.
  • It has your benefits info and enrollment.
  • The website doesn't work well in chrome, you need to use
  • Would like more stuff in the app
For pay stubs it's great, it has all the current and old info; it has your time off amount. It would be nice if it showed all the history of time off, when it was received, when it was used/applied etc. instead of just one number of how much is left. You can see a calendar of when you're scheduled to work, and holidays off. The website doesn't work in Chrome, not all the features are available, it would be nice if they made it work. The app is great you can see a lot of stuff right from your phone. Overall it's very good.

Used for time and attendance, payroll, and vacation tracking across the organization. It provides mobile access and visibility into timesheets for our hourly workforce.
  • WFM
  • Mobile - allows remote access for managers and employees
  • Customer support knowledge
  • Access to support
  • Third party remittances are not handled by Ceridian
It is great for capturing time and reducing some manual transactions associated with timekeeping, however there can be difficult with having their IC for system configuration understand needed requirements. Also, the responsiveness of the support organization is slow and solutions are not always sound.
