Dayforce has changed the way we do work. We were 100% manual for all things recruitment, benefits, time off requests, performance reviews, compensation increases, attendance points and perfect attendance prior to the system. Even paychecks and statements were paper! 2 years after our implementation, NONE of this is paper based anymore. For the first time ever, we have employee self-service, which gives power and information to our teammates!
  • It is truly one system for all things HR. Every piece connects.
  • Dayforce is customizable and really understands that no two companies do things the same way.
  • Ceridian presents a lot of different opportunities for users and customers to connect, share best practices, and lean on each other vs. always being required to go through support or pay additional fees for help.
  • Support - I would really like to see true "support consultants" when getting help on a ticket. We get lucky sometimes and get a fantastic support rep, but often it seems that they don't really care about providing true help, just want the ticket closed.
  • User groups for all regions.
  • More user friendly training for manager levels vs. just for "super users".
Dayforce has been great for our company, where we went from nothing (just a payroll system) to a full blown HCM. It is user-friendly and relatively easy to understand for all levels of our organization...from forklift drivers to our CEO.

I would like to see Dayforce work on their performance and recruiting modules. Ceridian's model is based on continuous feedback, so the system currently is designed around that...which means no such thing as a PIP, and very basic ATS functionality.

Dayforce is being used across the organization for HR, payroll, benefits, time recording, recruiting, onboarding, and document management.
  • Time recording - Users are allowed to clock in/out through a mobile app which simplifies the time recording process for our mobile staff.
  • Workforce management - Through our implementation we established workflows that helped us streamline our internal processes.
  • On boarding - This feature allows our new employees to become acclimated to our organization prior to their first day on the job.
  • Scheduling mass number of employees - We schedule around 400 employees on a seasonal basis.
  • Because of the level of detail of this scheduling, it's a somewhat "clunky" process, but Ceridian is taking time to understand our needs and working with us to make the system better.
  • Recruiting - The recruiting module has been HUGE for us. Not only does it simplify the communication process for the applicant/recruiter, we are also able to send out offer letters and complete the background/I-9 process through their partnership with HireRight.
Fully integrated HR, payroll, time recording solution. Internal Ceridian team is committed to a strong partnership and problem solving.

Ceridian Dayforce is being used by our entire organization that encompasses 1200 employees in 18 locations over a 120 mile long service area. Dayforce allows us to house all of our HR and payroll processes to include recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, time, and performance within one application. Dayforce allows our organization to be virtually paperless.
  • Dayforce offers continuous pay calculations, with real-time data at any given point.
  • All Dayforce data is housed in one location, with simple workflows and no need for integrations.
  • Dayforce has a great mobile platform.
  • Currently, the Dayforce Compensation module only works with the primary job, and therefore doesn't yet meet our needs.
  • The recruiting module doesn't have a way to schedule interviews with candidates.
  • Incompatibility with Microsoft Silverlight.
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for a large company with many employees across centers and departments. We are an organization of 1200 employees, of which 90% are variable-hour, part time. Dayforce workforce management works well with staff in scheduling and shift trades. Time sheets are easily viewed and approved by supervisors, even on the mobile app.

Great for Payroll/WFM

[It's being used] Across the whole organization - mainly HR, Benefits, Payroll, and WFM. We were on an old Ceridian product and this updated our process and centralized it into one system. Looking to add additional modules eventually.
  • I like that the timesheets are directly connected to payroll. In all other systems we reviewed, there was still an import, even though it was all one system.
  • I like the possibilities of moving forward. We struggle as an organization to accept change, but I like that we have many possibilities if we can get the right people on board.
  • I like that I can maintain the system setup without having to call support for every single change we want to make.
  • I would like to see sections of trainings that are outside the box. The helpful hints and best practices. The system is so vast, we have no way of knowing if there is a better way of doing things. And if there are options we aren't currently using, we don't know what we don't know.
  • I would like to see the training information easier to access. I hate to have to pay for an additional membership because I want my manager to be able to keep up with payroll as my backup.
Some of our managers have a hard time accepting technological advances. It's hard for me to answer for a lot of the system.

Dayforce is being applied in a multitude of areas for our company. It’s become the one-stop-shop for our human capital management. Dayforce has helped us achieve greater efficiency with our processes and document management.
  • Recruiting
  • Customizability
  • Data Analytics
  • Reporting feature could be easier to use.
  • Not user-friendly for employees.
  • Configuring is difficult
  • If you're looking to encompass multiple facets of HR all on one platform, this is it!
  • If if you don’t have help configuring, best of luck.

We use Dayforce for WFM, timekeeping, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, performance management and benefits. It is used across the whole organization and has helped us greatly in improving efficiencies.
  • Ability to see and move candidates between requisitions
  • Ability for employees to enroll in benefits with no paper required
  • Aha! portal to submit and see new ideas
  • Communication barriers with support
Well suited for organizations that are expanding or have a multigenerational workforce who are open and willing to learn a new system and recognize the long term benefits vs. the short term challenges.

Here, at The SSI Group, LLC, we use Ceridian Dayforce across the organization. It is used more thoroughly in HR, Payroll, and Finance. Dayforce has helped us to streamline our Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance Management, and Employee Self Service. The Performance Management module has been one that is most resourceful for us.
  • Performance Management -- easy process to complete and review all associates. Can be customized to the needs of the organization.
  • Dayforce is finally sun setting our pain point -- Silverlight. This has given us poor performance as the tool needed to be used with IE.
  • Reporting -- Reporting has been a feature that is more difficult to use. Training helps, but it is still more difficult than most seem to be.
Dayforce has worked well for our company. They have been implementing new modules moving towards being a full HRIS and not just a payroll processor. With the addition of Dayforce analytics it has taken it to the next level for sure. The Predictive Analytics module in the tool is something every business needs to look at often to aid in their succession planning.

We use Dayforce to process payroll and use WFM for time collection as well as simple scheduling. We liked that the product was all in one and we can view paychecks instantly as we go throughout the pay period. It is being used by the whole organization.
  • Easy Navigation and use of the WFM and payroll side
  • Dozens of reports for users, managers and admins
  • Plenty of Notifications
  • Mobile needs some improvements such as timesheet approval and better shift swapping capabilities
  • Better functionality around shift swaps
  • The whole validate and lock idea is a bit cumbersome
My favorite part of the whole tool is that it is all-In-one meaning that as payroll admins we can view employees' paychecks on any day of the pay period and do audits as we go to ensure an accurate payroll. Some of the steps within the process of calculating payroll seem redundant and could be easier but overall it is a smooth process.

We use Time and Attendance across the US and Canada. Approximately 6,800 users. We went live on 9/16/19.
  • Mobile app for Time works really well.
  • Vacation bank forecasting is a nice feature.
  • On the timesheet - confusing to authorize the timesheet and then have to remember to save. Seems like 2 steps that are not clear to users. Leave it at one step.
  • You should show the time away requested through a timesheet on the calendar view.
  • As mentioned above, the different options for entering time do not work well together. It seems like they're separate modules which don't update each other.
  • Timesheet view is a bit cumbersome.
Well suited for a blue collar work force, a little less so for a white collar / professional environment where our non-exempts need to enter time but don't necessarily work shifts and don't use a punch clock.

Ceridian Dayforce is our company's payroll provider and is being utilized across our organization in the United States.
  • Allows us to process accurate, on time payroll
  • Allows payroll to be directly deposited into employee's bank accounts
  • Provides employees with an easy to use platform for recording time worked, requesting time away from work and viewing pay statements
  • I would like it if the processing time for saving transactions (particularly in the Payroll mode) were faster.
  • I would like the reporting function to be more user-friendly.
  • I would like a more efficient and skilled support experience which would include specific detailed responses to issues. Currently receiving very general responses in some instances.
Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for US or Canadian based employers and are working on becoming a global solution.

[It's being used for] Company-wide payroll, benefits and WFM. The corporate office oversees and processes the entire payroll process while each location manages time cards and compensation.
  • Integrating time and attendance with payroll
  • Communications about updates and issues
  • Payoll
  • Pricing, a little too much nickle and diming
  • Timelessness of issue corrections
  • Implementation of new ideas. AHA ideas sit forever.
It's great for basic payroll and WFM. It's harder for multiple locations with security levels in payroll.

We currently use Ceridian Dayforce at the organization I joined in July of 2019. I have always wanted to have everything utilized in HR in one system, and with Ceridian Dayforce we have it all: onboarding, payroll, benefits performance management, etc. We continue to add more features plus optimize what we currently use. The Ceridian teams are incredible to work with and provide excellent support in a very timely fashion. I could not be happier with the products provided with this HCM. Anyone who is not using this should really look at it!
  • Benefits: it is very easy to set up plans, and this is my first time with my company's open enrollment.
  • Onboarding is great, as we have been able to make our onboarding process paperless.
  • Payroll: I am a back up to payroll, so it was essential that I learn the process, and thankfully Ceridian Dayforce is simple and straightforward.
  • I think there is an opportunity in streamlining the learning process for new customers.
I think Ceridian Dayforce is well suited for many scenarios, and not to be vague or too broad but the teams at Ceridian are very adaptable and appear to have the desire to have a solution for a multitude of scenarios large and small! Very impressive!

We use many of the core modules; benefits, payroll, HR, reporting, recruiting, etc. We use Dayforce as our system of record and main reporting system. It supports about 650 employees, mostly end-users. Admin to about 15 employees.
  • I think it reports well. The templates provided are a great start for many custom reports. Support is also key to creating custom reports.
  • The onboarding tool is a good way for new hires to get acclimated to the company. The setup is very easy, yet has plenty of options.
  • Creating custom forms is a good tool. It allows us to tailor forms exactly how we need them for various reasons.
  • The benefits module works perfectly fine but I think it could use more detail and explanation around the setup. Especially when it comes to expressions. There aren't many docs that detail expressions and if you want help from support, it is sent to PS which costs money.
  • We don't currently use schedules, but I did with a previous company. I thought the setup was difficult and confusing.
It has many of the common modules that other systems have. I think it works well, but does still seem a little raw. I think some bugs need to get worked out before you roll out more new features.

We use it for time/attendance, payroll, and HRIS currently. We will be implementing recruitment and onboarding soon.
  • One system for all our needs. No need for two systems to run payroll.
  • Carrier feeds for benefits makes it more efficient to enroll employees.
  • Reports can be scheduled.
  • Support is too cumbersome. I would like to be able to email my questions and get it done rather than go through the hoops in creating tickets, logging in and needing to write a comment.
  • Too long for some easy fixes to be addressed.
  • Need more assistance with Tax services.
Less appropriate for smaller organizations. It's okay for bigger ones with easier pay codes.

Human Resources, Benefits, and Payroll use Ceridian Dayforce as our system of record for employees and our payroll processing system.
  • Identifies applicable tax jurisdictions based on employee addresses
  • Retros back pay changes
  • Cannot set up delivery packages to different locations, must be by pay group only, which doesn't work for all companies
  • Navigation is difficult to learn
Cerdian is well suited for payroll processing of retro adjustments.

The entire organization is using Dayforce but heavily within HR. It addresses timesheets, performance, payroll, recruiting, reporting.
  • Payroll - easily can view timesheets and edit
  • Recruiting - easy to screen and source candidates
  • Performance - easily accessed reviews
  • Reporting - very slow feature
  • Workflow Management - not easy on the eyes
  • Recruiting - sometimes adding more words to names actually includes more people instead of limiting the search
Dayforce all around is pretty simple to navigate. The only issue I would say is certain features like workflow are very slow.

We are using Ceridian Dayforce at the enterprise level. It is helping us solve compliance issues within WFM and Payroll.
  • Ability to comply with all of the various FLSA laws at the municipality level up through state level.
  • Single database for managing WFM/HCM/HRIS.
  • The path moving from selection to implementation and then to support is rocky. There are opportunities to improve communication and hand off as you move to support.
Dayforce understands retail and the challenges in this vertical. The complexities around the law from both FLSA to taxation and minimum wage are handled well by Dayforce.

We use Dayforce across our whole organization, however, certain parts are restricted by users. We use this software for Payroll, Benefits, and Time and Attendance. It addresses issues that would arise if we were to manual complete these options.
  • Dayforce Support is a great tool to help answer everyday problems that arise.
  • Dayforce is end user friendly.
  • It would be helpful to have details on all of the releases and the impact, to include pros and cons of the releases.
  • It would be nice have a dedicated payroll support person.

We have used Ceridian for payroll for some time. We added Dayforce last year but after implementing realized that we had not purchased Dayforce Core with all the HR components that we wanted. We are now signed for this and hope to be live by June. Our Glassdoor rating is bottom of the barrel and we look forward to not only being more efficient with our work but also building better staff clutter and engagement.
  • Great scheduling tool with information flowing directly to payroll for more accuracy.
  • App for staff to engage, communicate and find information.
  • Guidance and support in having a smooth professional payroll system that insures compliance on every level.
  • Tools to help create staff engagement and our culture.
  • Dayforce has really highlighted the importance of not only doing our payroll and HR efficiently, quickly and correctly but also the need to treat our employees are our best customers.
  • Would have preferred better communication and education before we initially purchased our first Dayforce platform. We needed someone in person to guide us through our choice and that was not made possible. We hired a private consultant who we paid to explain to us our needs and options.
  • Now that we understand our needs and what we can have with Dayforce Core we have to wait until June to be live.
We are a very small company in comparison to anyone we met at the Ceridian conference! I believe that even for a company like us Dayforce is hugely effective. We don't have the budget of a corporation where the payroll is more than our annual sales, but we need the efficiency, professional approach, knowledge of all the ways we need to be compliant, and tools to provide great HR just as much as any company. Matter of fact, because we lack the resources of large companies, we may need Dayforce even more than them! The cost becomes negligible when one unhappy staff member sues us or we are audited and find out that we had made a mistake that costs us an assessment bill.

It is being used across our whole organization. It has enabled us to automate our timecards and leave tracking systems. It has also enabled us to build and use custom reports to meet our specific and unique organization's needs. Lastly, it has allowed us greater flexibility when it comes to processing payroll.
  • Processing a basic payroll is relatively simple.
  • Ceridian Support handles most of the tax and compliance updates.
  • The ability to access the program anytime, anywhere is a huge plus for our users and administrators.
  • Changing even minor configurations (such as adding a new pay code) are incredibly difficult at times.
  • Leave balance interfaces are confusing/unclear to both users and administrators.
  • The implementation process can be overwhelming and very disorganized. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time!
What Dayforce does well, it does very well. For us, this involves a lot of automated calculations such as overtime. Processing a basic payroll is relatively easy and Ceridian's Support team is always available if you have a major, payroll-breaking problem.

While Ceridian offers a high level of customization, getting that customization set up and working correctly can be very, very difficult and time-consuming. This is particularly apparent with the Reporting and Payroll Setup modules.

4 of our 5 US divisions use it. The other division is on Workday and raves about it. Ceridian payroll is great, but a lot of the HCM functionality is useless since it can't ingest data from other sources. Ceridian is about 3 years behind the market on the Power BI dashboard integration, were about 3 years behind on comp, and are also a few years behind on mobile forms functionality.

Good payroll, mediocre to poor HCM. Ceridian's current value proposition is that it's already installed and lower cost than Workday. They have positioned themselves as a commodity, which is not a great strategy. Honestly, I have been disappointed so far. The only reason I'm still considering Dayforce is an excellent Sales Executive who listens and is trying to help.
  • Payroll services
  • Time and attendance
  • An excellent Sales Executive who is trying to help
  • Product development is behind the speed of the market
  • Its almost 2020 and the product owner for mobile is not allowed to commit a date for full mobile-first functionality, especially of forms
  • Dashboards are dependent on being all in with Ceridian, which means that growing/acquiring businesses cannot use them. They are late to market with the Power BI solution
Payroll, time, and attendance are excellent. HCM and insights, especially dashboards, are not.
