Ceridian Dayforce is being used across the whole organization. It is becoming a more robust system which is now housing our payroll, HRIS, recruiting, performance reviews and soon even more.
  • Ceridian is a user-friendly system.
  • As we implement more modules in Dayforce, managers are becoming more comfortable and familiar with the functions and the system overall.
  • Ceridian Dayforce allows for managers to stick to one system and limit the jumping around to perform different functions like reviewing timesheets, sending an offer letter and submitting a performance review- it's great!
  • The offer letter function is missing the timestamp. If an employee, manager or auditor asks for a copy of the signed offer letter, the only option is to provide a copy of the offer letter which still shows the Accept and Reject button- I would really like to see a change here very soon.
  • I would like to seamlessly move from Req to Req as I can from candidate to candidate without going back to the req screen.
Ceridian Dayforce is suited for a large company like ourselves to be able to create the flexibility needed for different scenarios like different guided processes or criteria. I'm not on the payroll side, however I understand it's been helpful to set up numerous punch policies, entitlement polices, etc under 1 company.

We use Ceridian Dayforce through out the company. We use it for all of our HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Talent. We purchased all modules.
  • It's all one platform.
  • It's configurable to your company needs.
  • The system follows the employee from hire to termination. All HR functions are done in Dayforce. No need to use another system it's all in one.
  • The implementation is very time-consuming. The way the data needs to be given to Ceridian needs to be more user-friendly.
The payroll through Dayforce is going to save my company at least one day of processing. Where we came from we had to process 9 payrolls because we have 9 legal entities. Now with Dayforce, I run one payroll.

Every employee in our organization uses Dayforce. It helps us solve wage and hour laws as well as compliance issues. We’ve also eliminated several manual processes such as tracking time off requests on paper and being able to view real-time time off balances.
  • Dayforce really pays attention to their customers' feedback through the support portal. Top voted issues are a priority for Dayforce to provide fixes or solutions to the problem.
  • Dayforce provides countless numbers of resources to their clients from implementation, post implementation and upgrades.
  • Better delivered reporting. It’s hard to export reports in Excel where the format is a copy-paste version of PDF. You’re not able to easily manipulate the file to filter for the information you need.
Dayforce’s WFM platform is very robust and user-friendly as well as easy to manage from an administration perspective.

Dayforce is the HR/time and attendance and payroll system for my company. We are rolling [it] out globally to get all locations in one central system.
  • Scheduling and timesheets
  • Native payroll
  • Ease of use
  • Global payroll
  • Management of Ceridian partners
Dayforce is perfect for US and Canada based companies with locations only in those locations. The produce is built and designed for those customers. There are several challenges and improvements that are needed for the global realm.

Dayforce is our HCM system. We use it for HR, benefits, and payroll. Dayforce has allowed us to deploy self-service to our employees and managers. The employees love the self-service features. They can view their current and past pay statements, view their schedules using the mobile app, make changes to their deposit accounts, change tax withholding, and view company sent messages. Managers love the ease of scheduling and submitting position and pay changes through self service forms. We recently rolled out Performance and Compensation.
  • I especially like the Payroll module in Dayforce. For the first time in my 20+ year career I am able to combine multiple FEINs in a single pay group. This is a huge step forward, allowing us to consolidate our pay groups for more efficient processing. Overall, the payroll module is great. I love being able to add my own pay definitions, create my own deduction codes, and run off cycle payrolls without having to call support.
  • I have been a Ceridian Tax Service customer longer than I have been a Dayforce customer. CTS is the best in the business. The year end reports in Dayforce make it easy to identify exceptions that need to be corrected now, making year end easier. Also, the tax functionality in Dayforce makes local tax compliance relatively easy.
  • I really appreciate having the test environment. This is a huge help! We use the test environment to build out new functionality, test the new releases, and for training and troubleshooting.
  • There is no way to confirm that New Hire Reporting was done properly. In other systems I have used I could refer to reports to verify the NHR was compete and accurate. Dayforce has no such reports. Also, I've been contacted a couple of times from states where the NHR was not complete. The state compared the SUI quarterly filing to NHR and fined me for omissions that they claimed had not been reported by Dayforce/Ceridian.
  • As much as I like the payroll module, it needs to move faster. We have a LOT of extra incentive payments that are calculated outside DF. This means we have to import into Quick Entry in Payroll. It can take up to 17 minutes sometimes to recalc payroll. That really slows us down at the end of our processing because we are reconciling and balancing every hour and dollar. If Dayforce would just MOVE and load faster and calculate faster we could reduce the time spent on payroll processing. Also, a common complaint overall is getting kicked out of the system, often multiple times a day, or even within the hour.
  • The salary proration for mid pay period new hires and terms and rate changes is based on a Monday through Friday workweek. That is not accurate in our case. I'd like to be able to have it prorate over 7 days in a work week or choose a different work week.
Dayforce is great for companies who want to build employee engagement and change the way they move employee data. If you don't like change, and want things to stay the way they are, Dayforce may not be for you. Be prepared to invest in training for the system admins and the end users.

We use Ceridian at 27 branches and 80 childcare sites to track HR and process payroll for around 2500 employees.
  • One source for HR and payroll data.
  • Love the ability to create custom topics and reports.
  • Really appreciate the ability to export data out through Data and the functionality of web services.
  • Would like the ability for users to do what if scenario with benefit enrollments. This feature was in HPL.
  • Sometimes support is a bit of a challenge in getting a fix back on time as well as the knowledge skill of some of the support staff.
Ceridian answers the need for a system in the cloud. Less IT resources needed to maintain application.

Dayforce is used organization-wide as our tool for payroll, compliance, tax services, and workforce management. The system solves our need for a UX focused, data-driven tool that helps us see the health and pulse of our company while overseeing day to day HR functionality for payroll, benefits, and general compliance issues.

Dayforce is well suited for complex payroll management including continuous calculation for real-time pay management with pay on demand. Forward-thinking updates and module changes. User-friendly HTML layouts with the upgrade from Silverlight. How you set up your environment is key to your success with Dayforce, you have to put the right people in the right positions to manage the flow and overall system experience.

It's used across the whole organization for scheduling, HR management, and payroll.
  • Scheduling -keeps it simple and organized. Easy for employees to access schedules and request time away etc.
  • Payroll - runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • HR management - keeps all of the employee information easily accessible.
  • From an employee standpoint allowing us to pick our mobile access. It was frustrating not having access to our statements on mobile.
  • I would hear a lot of supervisors complain that it was confusing but I think that's a lot to do with training on an individual company basis, not Ceridian's fault.
I think it's well suited for companies of all sizes. It's a one-stop shop for scheduling, HR management, and payroll. Once you get it running it's a well-oiled machine.

We use Ceridian's Dayforce product in the US, Canada & the UK for HR, WFM and Payroll.
  • Having all of the data in one place is a big plus for us.
  • Being able to use the same system for three countries has allowed us to standardize process, procedures and training.
  • Having a solution we can access from anywhere has allowed us to commit payroll remotely.
  • Tax processing needs work. While it's great that we can be mostly hands off, Ceridian will deduct taxes for resident locations regardless of whether or not we have nexus in those localities. We need to be able to make those choices before payroll runs.
  • Constant changes...but not always what you want to see changed. Get the basics stable, then add the bells & whistles.
  • Implementation was difficult. Three countries, three implementation teams...three different approaches. We're still unraveling and trying to streamline two years after full go-live.
Again - we love having one system for everything and everyone. Reporting on all that data can be difficult, though. If it's not in a topic, the individual pieces of data can be hard to get into a single report.

We currently use it for the U.S. and are in the process of implementing Canada. And with that said going global with Dayforce People it in the near future. Dayforce will allow us to report across the company for turnover and head count reporting, just to mention a few.
  • HR Reporting
  • Payroll
  • Self-service
  • Benefits needs to be better on the reporting side, it is hard to allow the benefits team to do their own report for audit and the many reports that are needed to out side vendors.
  • The speed of the system after they moved away from Silverlight
  • Developing rule for entitlements
I cannot give it a complete 10, due to the fact it is a growing system and implementation still needs to be improved on and other areas, we are implementing recruiting currently and feel we could of had more meetings to help our comfort level during the process. For the price, this is definitely the best on the market, and let's face to be ahead in the market like Ceridian is, you have to be constantly creating and improving. I would give Ceridian a 10 for listening to their clients.

[It's used] Organization wide. [Dayforce is] Used for recruiting, scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll.
  • 360 feedback - Ceridian listens to reviews from its customers
  • Mobile app - very simple to use and capable
  • Timekeeping - easy to navigate errors and easy to revise time sheet data
  • HR record maintenance - people module is still running on MS Silverlight
  • Payroll election audit data - can not track edits to payroll elections, which is where regular deductions are entered
  • Custom reporting - topic builder is not user-friendly and custom reporting fields are difficult to create without additional training and/or guidance from Ceridian support
For employee populations that are on the go, or must perform actions primarily via mobile, Dayforce is great because their mobile app is so easy to use and packs a lot of functionality.

Our company uses the Dayforce system for the day-to-day payroll and HRIS duties. It aides us in management of our greatest expense, employee compensation and benefits. With this program we can have a singular view or an enterprise view of any aspect within the system. From onboarding to offboarding, we have connected the system as our system of record, time management and compensation for the employees. It is the operations resource for daily management of the employees.
  • Many of our employees are shared between locations, and several with multiple jobs as well. The one system record prevents us from having confusion on employee data, benefits or compensation. The one system record aides in compliance with labor law.
  • The self-service function for the individual employees provides an opportunity for change, viewing or printing of their data without having to make an appointment with Human Resources. The self-service function cuts down on the HR department having to reprint check stubs or write income validations for employees. The employee can print it for themselves or view it on their data phone at their leisure.
  • Our regional managers can report findings that are company specific, based on the information we built during implementation. Our ability to customize fields and flow of employee data allows us to manage it the way we work/run the company.
  • The customer support portal is the most problematic area. There have been great improvements from the beginning to now, but with customer support - there is always room for improvement.
  • The system is costly, but it is a very robust system that is worth the cost if you work the entire system correctly.
It seems to me that Dayforce HCM is geared more to a larger company or a company with multiple sites. For a small company, this system may be too robust for their use.

Dayforce is used by our third-party billing entity that provides staff within our organization. Hospital employed leadership is, therefore, able to manage the payroll and recruitment needs for their positions. Dayforce has been a very simple tool that allows a complex medical center to share manage their resources effectively. Without the generation of shared access across multiple entities, there would be a severe disruption in our ability to process payroll for all team members and collect accurate salary cost data.
  • A very intuitive system that can be done with minimal training or timesheet understanding.
  • Customization so language and pay codes can be crafted to meet organization policy.
  • Allows for notification outside of the system to better stay on top of requests.
  • There are pop-up features when looking back or triggering any retroactive features that "increases clicks" and causes frustration
  • Some security features also make work redundant to change/update a timecard
  • More consolidated options for recruitment - these features are fairly elementary
Seems to be a very high functioning system. There have been regular updates in the 1 year I've been using it, and the updates provided by the system administrator have been timely and clear. Very simple to add users and hierarchy to better serve all end users. Great tool for any small to a large organization for their workforce management needs!

Dayforce is being used across the whole organization from scheduling and labor management at the restaurants, to HRIS, payroll and recruiting in the HR dept, this system has allowed our organization to process data in real-time for more accurate and efficient business practices.
  • All-in-one comprehensive system
  • Customer support
  • Staying on top of the most innovative technology and customer needs
  • Educating their customers on their system
  • They are switching from Silverlight to HTML and it is causing some slowness that I hope improves when all modules are on HTML.
Dayforce is well-suited for large companies, global companies and multiple pay groups. I think it is less appropriate for organizations that prefer to outsource their payroll.

Ceridian DF is being used for WFM, Recruiting, HRB, Payroll… we did not skimp out on any of the products. The only departments that use it daily are Finance and HR. The company uses it for employee portals and managers for manager duties. The business problems it addresses are the day to day HR and Payroll activities.
  • The payroll function is very intuitive. It’s easy to get through and the canned audit reports are very useful.
  • Timesheets and auditing are simple as well. It’s not rocket science when training new employees and managers.
  • The reporting features need a lot of work. If you need a specific report and want to customize, you will get errors and it is not fixable. You’ll literally have to pay for every report you need that is not a canned report.
Ceridian is well suited for Payroll in my opinion. I have not used it as any other function so it would be hard for me to say. But the Payroll module is very intuitive.

We use Dayforce across the organization. We use time and attendance, payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, document management. Very impressed with the one HR management software program. Dayforce scheduling is a big win for our organization of 2,600 employees; very helpful in keeping our budget in line. The software is comprehensive and [provides] easy administration for managers, administrators and employees.
  • Scheduling - supports our budget, allows employees to pick up shifts when they become available, allows employees to trade shifts. All big wins for our organization.
  • Managing measurement periods for ACA recording. Manages the legislative process with ease.
  • Employee benefits are managed through the feeds with our vendors. Dayforce offers a very impressive employee benefits module.
  • Dayforce is missing a home page that offers company documents.
  • As an non-profit organization, we pre-deducted our employee benefits. We had to change our process to accommodate the limitation of this functionality.
One HR management software that manages all our HR needs. We have managed our process in the past with 2 software companies, very problematic. Our previous software company had limitations within their software to manage the ACA process exposing our association to possible costly penalties.

Ceridian Dayforce was implemented in 2013 at my company, the system is used by all of our users in 23 different locations. We use Dayforce for payroll, benefits, core HR, time & attendance, and ACA and will be implementing performance management this year. As a multi-location company and an array of users' varied technical skills, Dayforce is simple to use and understand for our employees. Our administrators for payroll and HR/benefits have ease of use for their daily tasks.
  • Continuous improvement. Dayforce consistently updates features and provides enhancements, some are from client suggestions.
  • Training. Dayforce has great training materials provided via video or instructor led. These are so helpful for a refresher or if looking to implement a new feature.
  • Technical Support. When I have an issue, my support POC addresses issues timely and in great detail.
  • There are some challenges with custom reports, generally if they require an update like an additional field this is potential for a fee to do so.
Dayforce strives to perfect its system for their users and their experience. Frequently there are updates deployed to provide new features and enhancements as well as fixes to issues. Dayforce features available to you are generally your choice to implement, if it does not benefit your operations then you can opt to leave most features turned off.

Dayforce HCM is used across the whole organization for payroll, benefits, tax services, and HCM. We use the Dayforce Workforce Management module for scheduling and timekeeping. We have a very diverse workforce with employees in production facilities in the lower 48 states as well as remote areas of Alaska and on fishing and processing vessels in the waters of Alaska, Washington and Oregon. We also have a highly seasonal workforce as production varies with various fish and crab species seasons throughout the year.
  • Integrates with our recruiting system for high volume hiring
  • Mobile Application
  • Benefits ACA Year End Reporting
  • Custom configuration and parameter based set up that we can modify based on changing business needs
  • Reporting has some limitations and formatting issues, we are looking forward to the new reporting system coming out in the next few months
  • Dayforce does not support the methodology we use for benefits eligibility for seasonal employees under PPACA
  • We'd like to see faster turnaround times on our support tickets and change requests
Dayforce is well suited for a company with US employees that would like to have all of its payroll, tax services, benefits, recruiting, HCM, and workforce management (timekeeping) systems on one SAS system. The mobile app is a great feature. Dayforce does not have all of the multi-currency reporting functionality that other HCM systems have to support global companies.

We are using Dayforce across our whole organization. We went full involvement with the modules - WFM, Payroll, HR, Benefits, Recruiting, Self Service forms, Dashboards, Scheduling. It has helped us get one user record for employees across our organization and one spot for staff to look up information. It's also increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Payroll processing. It is a quick interface and no need to import records from other sources.
  • Dashboards. They provide a great look at organizational data.
  • Benefits. Simple easy to use interface for users to enroll.
  • Reporting - They are working on an upgrade but need to make it more open and not lock down filters and tables.
  • Load time on first log in - they are working on removing Silverlight but would be helpful to pull the components out before logging in.
  • More integration with recruiting and performance. They are newer modules but they need to be able to pull more information from existing employees.
Well suited for any size organization with complex rules. Especially geared for multi state and retail space but will work with any organization. Can be customized for multiple business process'.

We use Dayforce across 90% of our enterprise. We use Time & Attendance across the entire 90% and Scheduling & Task Management across 75%. As a specialty retailer in the Musical Instrument category, we sell very specific products to customers with very specific needs. That requires knowledgeable employees to be in the right place at the right time. Dayforce is key to making that happen.
  • Intuitive user interface that is easy to use for people with various technical abilities
  • Employees can view their time card in real-time on many different devices
  • Easily view task progress across devices and with downward visibility throughout the organization
  • Dayforce could use more robust reporting within the application, but have recently released a new Business Intelligence tool to fill the need
Dayforce is very useful in an environment where there is a fast pace and multiple access points such as retail, grocery stores, etc. Places of work that allow use of mobile devices will really allow the application to shine. Environments where there isn't reliable network access may prove difficult. Dayforce support staff is very responsive to customer needs and their level of support is strong.

Dayforce is being used throughout our organization for CoreHR, Payroll and Workforce Management. The platform has helped us to solve issues related to managing these business functions in disparate systems. Consolidating HCM functionality has alleviated significant support of legacy interfaces and simplified our environment for our user community.
  • Payroll processing across multiple countries. We operate in the US, Canada, and the UK. Dayforce is a single platform to handle it all.
  • Mobility is a trending requirement for our workforce. The DayforceHCM app allows our users to manage their time, time off requests and other payroll-related activities in the palm of their hand.
  • Ceridian does a great job of keeping their users connected through Insights and other events. The best resources for learning about how to grow through Ceridian are their clients.
  • The continuity between implementation approaches and post-implementation support could be much better. Post-implementation, we needed a lot of work done on entitlements. When we contacted support, the best practices that they endorsed in certain situations was not aligned with the approach taken by the implementation team. This caused a lot of rework.
  • Project management resources during our implementation were not consistent. We went through 3 project managers on the Ceridian side during implementation and it caused huge issues.
  • Implementation resources were not dedicated to our project alone. This caused problems for us. There a fair amount of turnover on the Ceridian team, exchanging resources to move to other projects. This was not productive for our team, as new resources were often not the right fit or had less experience than their predecessors.
The core of the system is the key in my mind - one database. Needs for integration between HR and Payroll have been alleviated, freeing up time for our leaders and team members to focus on their roles rather than how to operate the system.

We currently use Dayforce for employment tracking, benefits and payroll processing. This allows us to quickly and efficiently enter new hires into the system and pay them correctly as well as off-board our terminations with minimum effort. Our open enrollment allows employees as well as retirees to complete [open enrollment] on their schedule and from home or work.
  • Track employee time - employees can enter their time via their computer or mobile app.
  • Pay employees correctly and allow for adjustments on the fly - we often have different payout situations, and Dayforce allows our payroll team to pay accurately in a timely manner.
  • Allow open enrollment to happen seamlessly - Open Enrollment is always a concern for employees - especially those with children. Dayforce allows the employee to be confident their data will flow to the vendors as needed.
  • Pull data that is needed quickly and accurately - ability to pull accurate data for different purposes - once you figure out the topic the rest is easy.
  • Reports - clearer review of the topics.
  • Streamline imports, provide the client better access to importing data.
  • Response to support should be quicker than it currently is.
Dayforce is very good for a workforce that is often transitioning and it is good for companies with multiple locations.

Dayforce HCM is being used across our entire organization. We use the recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, timekeeping, benefits management, payroll and tax reporting [modules]. It helps unify data and keeps all departments working on the same platform.
  • Dayforce HCM is a single seamless solution for HR/Payroll management.
  • Dayforce HCM has levels of access allowing us to limit and permit as needed access to various levels of information within the program.
  • Dayforce HCM has a very comprehensive continuing training system.
  • Dayforce support is first class.
  • Dayforce HCM report building module is cumbersome and requires some computer language literacy to be accomplished.
  • Dayforce HCM General Ledger does not interface with our accounting system. Difficult to add accounts for new items.
  • Working with support has improved.
The implementation costs may limit the feasibility for a smaller payroll client. It may work best for 100+ employees. Multi locations and multi departments are no problem for Dayforce HCM.
