Dayforce is our all-in-one source for Employee data, employee self-service, payroll, recruiting, and performance. We use Dayforce across the organization. It has helped us transition away from paper in many cases, and we're working on more. We have recently begun integrations with other software our company uses, and are using an API as well.
  • We really like the Dayforce App.
  • The system is very customizable.
  • Updates are done bi-annually
  • Reporting is a bit difficult, but has been getting easier. There is less help available by telephone recently. We are being told more frequently that reporting help is billable.
  • The recruiting module should be more customizable.
  • We no longer have a designated account rep, which is problematic.
It's great for our hourly staff to track their time, plus with working remotely, they can use the web clock instead of the physical clock. The system works better now that it dos not require Silverlight. That also opened up access to more on the app. I feel that recently, some defects have occurred with system updates. It seems that there are more and more defects after updates.

We currently use Dayforce to manage employee records, their files, and process payroll. We haven't utilized the entirety of Dayforce yet, but we are looking into implementing the onboarding and document management features first. At the moment, the majority of our companies use another system that assists with our payroll processing, but within this year, we would like to incorporate about 6 companies into Dayforce entirely.
  • Record keeping is fairly easy (compensation changes, Notes feature)
  • A whole library of how and what to do with processes within Dayforce (using DIG), including the support site with extremely helpful articles and posts asked by other users with similar questions
  • User-friendly for those not in an administration role (managers, employees)
  • While the support site is helpful and people assigned to my questions were great, I've struggled with communicating with people when it involved implementing something new into our production site. Response times were low, they had trouble understanding what we needed to be implemented, and didn't apologize for it. My guess is that because we're one of Ceridian's "smaller" clients. Regardless of the size of your client, we still would like proper service! This is so far the only feature I have had issues with; the majority of Dayforce has been easy to use and I can self-learn pretty easily.
I enjoy figuring things out on my own if I run into any errors and what's helped me was using the DIG or support site to help guide me in the right direction. There was an issue with payroll mapping and it involved benefits elections - I sent in a support ticket and they were extremely helpful and provided me with the correct articles to also attempt to fix it on my own. They also gave me the solution, but I thought it was quick and handy to access something so readily available.

HRIS system and timekeeping. Our old system was paper. DF put mostly everything in a paperless environment that is easier to track than before. Timesheets are a major plus to the paper system we had before. However, there are some items that remain on paper due to system limitations.
  • Pay policies.
  • timesheets
  • schedules
  • Mobile access.
  • FMLA and leave tracking, no formal system.
  • Attendance management. Points cannot be edited from AM; you have to constantly unlock timesheets to update points.
  • Attendance management link to forms for write-ups. Write-ups are still a manual form process. There is no link from AM to HR incidents.
  • Supports lack of urgency. Some cases drag out due to no response from support. Then you get flopped to another support person and have to start over at the beginning.
  • End-dated entitlements should not be seen on the ECP screen. New policies should not be seen until the start date.
  • An easier way to create forms. Drag and drop.
  • Write-ups should have workflows with digital acknowledgments from employees and managers.
  • Benefits - medical support orders should be able to lock employees' dependents so they cannot be removed from benefits.
  • Transfers - schedules and pay should auto-update to the new ECP info.
  • Headcount as a qualifier on pay policies.
  • Workflow visibility on forms. Easy way to see whose approval is still pending. When printing forms, workflow approvals need to show on the printout.
There are multiple items that are missing in functionality. FMLA and leave tracking is one of the bigger items. I don't see that has moved for several years in the AHA portal.

I use Dayforce daily to process payroll, follow workflows, update HR info, timesheets, time away, etc.
  • Payroll section provides up to the minute earnings
  • Ease of use for workflow forms-increases, terms, loa, etc
  • Customer support
  • Modifying reports sometimes requires assistance
  • doesnt recognize a primary manager at this time, which is needed.
Support is quick to resolve issues and make system updates. The payroll section is user friendly and far beyond other systems i have used. Continues to improve with what the times demand.

Using Dayforce has allowed us to bring information and processes together under one system - Recruiting, Hiring, Scheduling, Timesheets, Performance, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Reporting. Previously we had multiple systems that didn't all talk to each other and we had to use a lot of spreadsheets to report on data.
  • Workflow Designer - it's fairly easy to use and you can design your workflows to be as simple or as complex as you need
  • The new homepage - the HUB - is a nice addition allowing us to customize the information and the links for various roles
  • Custom reports - creating custom fields requires knowledge of SQL
  • An easier way to create and maintain master schedules would be appreciated. To use shift rotations for everyone would require creating thousands of shift rotations.
  • Being able to use custom forms on the mobile app. The majority of our onboarding uses custom forms and because of that, we can't use mobile onboarding. We've had to take a significant portion of our onboarding process outside of Dayforce.
  • Support - they consider an automatic email that acknowledges that your case has been received as meeting their SLA. It can take a long time to get someone actually assigned to the case; they seem to have a lot of turner in Support; and now they are pushing services that they used to include as part of Support over to their billable projects division.
If you have consistent schedules, not a lot of changes with employees (transfers, promotions, changes in schedules or hours), Dayforce would probably meet your needs. If you need maximum flexibility, you may struggle with Dayforce. Also, if you have some basic SQL and XML experience, you will be able to work through creating custom fields in reports and creating custom forms. Customers do much of the implementation and on going work in Dayforce so you do need to be prepared to commit time to implementing and maintaining the system.

We use Ceridian Dayforce to manage the HRIS and Payroll functions at 35 locations in 9 states. We are able to have both weekly and biweekly pay runs and utilize their On-Demand Pay option called the Wallet.<br>Ceridian is ever growing which is a good and bad thing. New features are continuously being added, but customer support can be lacking due to all the changes.<br>
  • On demand pay
  • Retro pay
  • HRIS
  • Tax Services
  • Customer support
  • Billing\invoicing
Ceridian Dayforce is very robust and has so many features, but each has its own charge. There are a lot of nickel and dime-type fees that can add up.
Tax services are very overwhelmed and understaffed. We have had multiple issues where tax issues have not been addressed for several months. These caused additional fees and penalties.

We've used Ceridian Dayforce for the last 5 years. We use both the Workforce Management and Payroll modules to process our hourly (weekly frequency) and salaried (semimonthly frequency) employees. Upon implementing the system, our processes are now more automated than before. This was important to us as we have a separate HCM system, we were looking to find a system that could interact well with it.
  • Interface well with Oracle HCM
  • Constant updates and upgrades are regularly roll out to clients
  • User friendly system
  • Support system is not the greatest. Tickets take a long time to be resolved. Most have been outsourced to outside countries.
  • Entitlement module is very difficult to setup and modified.
If a company doesn't have any complex policies, Ceridian Dayforce would work well. We found Dayforce cannot accommodate our labor costing needs. Though they have the module, but it's not allowing to refine it further. It is crucial to provide the implementation consultants all the info they need to set up the system from the get go.

Ceridian Dayforce is our Human Resources backbone. We have implemented it at each of our business units, and it connects us as one team instead of nine separate departments. We use it for the core functions: HR, Payroll, WFM, Benefits, Time & Attendance. We also use it for labor tracking, GL, reporting, recruiting, learning, performance, compensation, and engagement surveys. We are also in the process of rolling out use of Ceridian's succession planning and position management modules.
  • Payroll
  • Consistency-Stability-Reliability
  • HR System of Record
  • Customer Service
  • Variability (more than one way to accomplish something)
  • Attendance Management (module needs updating)
  • Mobile Experience (has come a long way, still has some gaps)
  • Recruiting/ATS (has come a long way, still has some gaps)
  • Tax Service (is not nearly as strong as their core customer service)
I can't think of too many scenarios where it's not well suited. Maybe it would be too much for a very small company. Maybe it's not the best fit for a company located in a country where Ceridian doesn't have its own payroll platform (list is shrinking). But for any company looking for efficiency and standardization in terms of payroll, HR, and even operational processes, I think you can't go wrong with Ceridian.

Our company is currently using Dayforce for our payroll, HR, workforce management, labor tracking, recruiting, benefits administration, and performance management. It has been a great experience. We are in the process of expanding it to eight other business units within the umbrella of our parent company. At Morgan, we plan to begin using Dayforce for compensation, onboarding, learning, and succession planning in the coming weeks and months.
  • Ease of use
  • Ability to automate processes and reduce paper use
  • Improved employee experience
  • Customer support when issues arise
  • Reports are tricky for new users
  • Some features still rely on Silverlight for functionality
  • Mobile functionality still being developed and improved
Ceridian Dayforce is perfect for a growing or maturing company that is looking to automate processes rather than relying on manual work, Excel sheets, and paper forms. It can help take your employee experience to the next level. If you are already heavily invested in a robust HRIS and Payroll system, switching to Dayforce couldn’t hurt, but the impact wouldn’t be as dramatic in many cases.

We use Dayforce for almost all aspects of our business - the biggest modules we utilize are People, Payroll, Recruiting, Learning, Benefits, Performance, and Compensation. Having an all on one system allows us to be consistent between all aspects of our HRIS function. We try to utilize the system in all aspects of the employee life cycle (from attracting talent, to making an offer, to hiring, creating merit increases, etc etc). We also heavily utilize the reporting aspects of the system to ensure that we are in compliance and doing the right thing with all of the previously mentioned modules. As a large employer it can be very difficult to keep things consistent and visible across the organization - using one platform for the vast majority of our HR functions allows us to more effectively do that
  • Payroll/Pay Policies are extremely effective
  • Reporting is strong, it's rare that I hit walls
  • Performance/Compensation are clear and easy to use for our employees
  • Ceridian Tax Services - sometimes they feel a bit inefficient
  • Learning has made some nice strides but because it is an outside integration you can feel its limitations
  • Schedules module is more manual than we would like
I think for any large-scale employer Dayforce is a great choice. In my opinion payroll/pay logic is the system's bread and butter so if that is a current deficiency I think Dayforce is an easy choice. Once that decision is made you also are able to get a lot of efficiency out of the other modules that I have mentioned

We also use Dayforce messaging to reach employees with company wide communication.

Payroll - Making pay easy. From the HRIS visibility to Timesheet integration in Pay Run Management, it is easy to see where and why people are being paid the way they are.
  • I love that everything is integrated within Dayforce - Payroll, Timesheets, HRIS, Reporting, and Recruiting... there are so many tasks in one place.
  • In addition, when you update something, you don't need to go to a separate system to recalculate since it's all there. I'm quite fond of how Payroll works for me.
  • Versatility of reporting
  • Sometimes it can be difficult to find where something is stored so that you can update something on the setup.
  • Reporting has gotten so much better, but another example is a struggle is trying to add a field to an existing report, particularly ones from Payroll or Timesheets.
The payroll tools are particularly close to heart for me. I feel that the features within Payroll are incredibly useful in auditing the pay [run] to ensure that employees are paid accurately. Often times, I'm just confirming that I can recreate manually a few employees' pay to confirm the setup is correct, which it most always is. I've primarily used Dayforce [Payroll] for mid-sized companies with between 3000 and 10000 employees, but I can see how this would benefit employers of a small sized company too. Since a company can customize Dayforce to their needs, it's really one size fits all. One thing to note is that during implementation, your company should KNOW what they want, and a general idea of the setup needed to get it. Preparation and pre-learning are key since the implementation specialists and as you go into Support, will basically let you lead - you tell them what you want and they try to implement it. There's no consulting on their part. No "do you think it is better to...". It shouldn't be a dealbreaker, just something to know going in.

Ceridian Dayforce is used to effectively manage our entire workforce. We utilize various modules to help better manage the entire employee Lifecyle. One of the greatest feature of Ceridian is the fact it's an all in one solution and you can customize the product be selecting the modules that are important for your business. In addition, the more you work and understand the Ceridian Dayforce system in it's entirety, the more powerful it becomes and the more powerful it grows over time as you understand what you are able to customize and build personally.
  • Give the ability to customize and self create solutions for your business.
  • The reporting capabilities have always been outstanding and the new visualizations bring that to another level.
  • The Dayforce overall payroll capabilities are world class.
  • The overall recruiting module has a lot of room for improvement. If you need details, we can chat but that is the single most glaring opportunity for improvement for Dayforce.
  • The billed service wait time of 8-12 weeks right now is very lengthy. I understand the labor market and growth of the company so I hope this drops significantly.
  • I'm excited to see the mobile benefit enrollment coming and I would like to have all onboarding be mobile as well and more user friendly.
I think to get the most out of Ceridian Dayforce you really need someone or multiple people that are willing to dive in and understand the system, push it, and learn what levers you can pull/push to get the results you are looking for. It's a tremendously powerful system, but unless you are willing to push it, you'll likely not get as much out as possible. I would probably recommend this for a mid to larger size company with multiple core users in a department. Last point, we have over 250 locations and Dayforce is built to handle a company our size and larger. It's a powerful tool.

We use Dayforce for Onboarding, Timekeeping, and Payroll Processing. Being able to have one program manage all these and more has been amazing. I love the education center and all the in-person trainings that they offer, in addition to having the Ceridian support team available for any issues that may arise.
  • Timekeeping
  • Payroll Processing
  • Employee Engagement
  • Onboarding
  • Some features are lacking the ability to filter employees.
I have used Dayforce for almost 6 years at two companies that could not have been more different. My experience with Dayforce at both has been great. From a large company in healthcare to a small hospitality company- Dayforce meets all our needs. I love being able to have everything in one system. Onboarding, timekeeping, managing TAFW, employee engagement, HR policies and signoffs, it really just does it all.

We use Dayforce for payroll, time and attendance, benefits and various other modules like talent management. The benefits module provides an easy and accurate annual enrollment annually. The other modules like talent etc. are great for smaller organizations but not for larger. Dayforce continues to release new modules items without necessarily fixing issues that impact day-to-day administrators.
  • Benefits
  • HUB
  • Compensation Module
  • Performance Management
  • Time and Attendance
  • Reporting
There are certain modules that have not been updated in years. Example: Performance module does not allow for HR Admin to view all comments or terminated goals. If someone terminates, their goals go away or if someone doesn't tag a comment correctly then HR can't view it. This is a legal liability and appears nothing is being done to correct. Time and attendance has major issues as well, if someone changes jobs their future holidays pay to their old job as they are calculated ahead of time. This causes major issues as well. Dayforce does a great job with the HUB tool allowing for customized landing pages.

Ceridian Dayforce is the core Human Capital Management (HCM) and workforce management (WFM) application used across our entire organization, spanning 13 different countries. We also use it for Payroll processing in the USA and Canada, and timesheet recording for payroll in other countries. It is the single Performance Management tool for the organization as well.
  • Fantastic reporting capabilities for HR
  • Excellent entitlement tracking when configured properly
  • Fairly intuitive user interface
  • Application support seems to be taking longer and longer.
  • Application training is improving, but has room for further growth.
Ceridian Dayforce is great for an SMB (Small to Medium Business), and I have successfully used it in an organization exceeding 6000 employees. The core HR functionality is great regardless of country, as I am currently deployed in 13 widely disparate countries. The capabilities for managing the different entitlements by country are second to none, but do require an excellent understanding of how to configure them appropriately - that is biting us now as we further expand our footprint, but that is an organizational issue and not on Ceridian.

Dayforce was implemented 3 years ago as a comprehensive HCM solution for our entire company. We currently use Dayforce for time and attendance, payroll, benefit management and HR. After reviewing other vendors, we felt that Dayforce was the only system that could deliver a fully integrated single record solution. We have visibility to our data that wasn't possible with our old provider.
  • I have used many systems in the past for payroll processing, and Dayforce is the best. It is easy to use and very fast.
  • It is a fully integrated system. It is nice to have a solution that has time up to date in payroll without any additional processing steps.
  • ACA management is very easy and 1095 generation is tied directly to benefits management.
  • Reporting is weak.
  • Benefits management is challenging.
  • Scheduling is time consuming.
Dayforce is very scalable and has made acquisitions easy. Dayforce offers a wide variety of solutions, but many of them are not as robust as competitors. The reporting tool does not provide an option to create custom sql reports, so there are time where you have to utilize professional services to get a custom report.

It is used by the whole organization and it addresses payroll and HR administration. We use the employee self service module and one positive thing is that employees are able to view their paychecks online now. We used to use UltiPro before and while it was more powerful it was more expensive.
  • Payroll processing
  • Easier reporting
  • Employee Self service
  • Slow loading bar
  • Mobile limitations
  • Implementation team does everything for you so you don’t really know how to fix something later.
Ceridian Dayforce is good for payroll processing but in terms of HR we had to buy other systems to do what ULTIPRO used to do before such as I-9 management onboarding performance reviews disciplinary actions. We were able to get rid of our ACA management software but more was promised to us during the sales meeting than the product really can perform.

Ceridian Dayforce is used in our organization for timekeeping (including overtime and sick and vacation tracking), payroll (including direct deposit and tax forms), and benefits management (including open enrollment, beneficiary delegations). The scope of our usage of Ceridian Dayforce is our operations based in the United States covering approximately 750 employees.
  • Tax forms
  • Open Enrollment
  • Direct Deposit setup
  • Electronic pay stubs
  • Time tracking - Not intuitive on updating a schedule
  • Leave tracking - Not intuitive on updating a schedule
  • Leave balances - Not always clear what's been added and used
Ceridian Dayforce is one of the large human capital management (HCM) system providers. I would expect most large organizations would have it on their shortlist if evaluating HCM providers. It has a variety of modules in the HR space. Our usage is limited to payroll and benefits for the United States. As an end user, I find it to be fairly intuitive and the integrations with other systems (SuccessFactors, third party benefits providers) in my experience has worked without issue.

I used it as an HR generalist, one of the biggest problems is how easily there are errors within the system. There could be more improvement on it being more user-friendly. I also used it on the talent acquisition side, and the system was unable to link to our ATS. Ceridian also did not have a reminder system that created holes within the system and stayed up with compliance.
  • Back button to bring you back to the last profile you were viewing.
  • Geo-fencing is impressive.
  • SSO
  • Easy look up to find even old employees.
  • Benefits functions on HR side, too much manual entry.
  • I know it’s for protection purposes but it gets annoying when you constantly need to input a security code texted to you.
  • Wish the onboarding progress page for managers can automatically update instead of being needed to manually update.
Looking up employee profiles was much easier to manage. Dayforce Is very suitable for big companies with a lot of employees that need to be managed and their profile is easily accessed. The biggest hiccup for me is The inability to automatically track the onboarding process when files have been uploaded. I also believe that the uploading file section can be improved and the titling of the files can be automatic instead of manually typing it in.

We use Ceridian Dayforce across the entire organization. We use the scheduling, employee records, hiring, benefits, timesheets, HR, people, messages. It is our employee portal in a way, where employees go to submit PTO, update their information, check their hours, paychecks, HR can check employees records, pay, hours, managers can approve timesheets, do benefit enrollment.
  • Timesheets
  • Benefits
  • Time off requests
  • Paystubs
  • end of year documents
  • Onboard
  • preboard
  • Applicant tracking system
  • no mass email campaign options
It is great for already hired employees. After you are already working with us to use the system is great for benefits, pay stubs, forms to fill out, time off requests. But prior to hire, we did not think the ATS system was ready for tracking applicants. There were many features such as bulk messaging applicants that were not available yet.

It is used across the entire organization. It has helped to automate and digitize a number of processes as well as streamline tasks and provide analytics.
  • Onboarding is wonderful! It took everything off paper for new hires and made the process fool proof
  • Performance has been a huge help. It keeps our employees engaged and builds a better employee/manager relationship
  • Scaling to size. I feel like our org is so slow because of the size of our organization built out. Speed would be a huge help.
  • It's glitchy all the time. Consistently kicked out of the system and having to reload.
  • The ATS has poor reporting and functionality.
Works well for employees from hire to completed pay cycle. Recruiting has many limitations and the Compensation module needs refining.

This is being used by the entire organization; primarily by Human Resources, Payroll, and Cost Control. We are utilizing some of the self serve features for all employees as well. Ceridian facilitates almost all of our payroll and HRIS needs. Payroll being accurate is one of the most important things a business needs and Ceridian Dayforce does it very well.
  • Payroll calculations.
  • Time Away from Work.
  • Custom integration.
  • Time & attendance input.
  • Reporting module is difficult to configure.
  • Forced updates breaks things sometimes - they are quick to resolve with customer service but it's a pain when things are pushed to production without sufficient testing.
Ceridian has been a net positive for our organization. We struggled a lot with implementation but most of those issues were on our end and not having the proper scoping requirements done up front. It's critical that you assign dedicated personnel to your implementation as there are a significant numbers of meetings and commitments required before go live.
The Time & Attendance module only supports individual time entries, not crew entries. We used a 3rd party software to facilitate entering crew time cards and then import them directly into Ceridian via SFTP. Very happy with the results.
If your organization requires a ton of custom rules like substitution pay, scaling rates based on experience, etc. Ceridian is a great choice!

Ceridian Dayforce is used for payroll across our entire organization. It is used in conjunction with WFM. It addresses our issue of multiple locations being on the same integrated system.
  • Alerts you to errors prior to processing.
  • Allows control of system configuration.
  • Provides real-time calculations.
  • The HCM processing transacting processing time needs to be faster.
  • Needs more layout continuity of among screens.
  • Support module is too cumbersome.
Well suited for organizations with multiple locations and/or multiple companies with different Federal IDs. Not suited for really small organizations with simple payrolls.
