Cisco BE7K was used by our organisation as a mid-size branch communication platform. With all the necessary UC apps included in one solution BE7K brought all the UC services that Cisco offers within one box, which really removed the complexity for us as end users.
  • All in one platform that includes all the Cisco UC services in one appliance.
  • All the services are ready to use and preconfigured.
  • Tools available improve productivity and user experience.
Cons
  • More cloud based services need to be added to the default service package.
  • Companies frequently require a small contact center within the UC environment. It would be nice to see a build it contact center in the box.
  • It would be nice to see some advanced AI based services (IVR voice recognition service) in the BE7K application list.
  • Call recording should be also built in.
BE7K is well suited for small/medium enterprise environments. It has all the necessary UC toll that is required for any modern knowledge worker. I don't see any other cases where it is not suited. The platform is amazing and suits any use cases whenever the Unified Communication is required.

For one of the retail banking [sectors], we are deploying [the Cisco] business edition appliance. It comes under 2 [variants] namely 7000M and 7000H. We have gone ahead with 7000H considering it is built for [video-intensive] purpose. Our deployment model ckmsiso of video equipment [devices, servers, IP phones, and routers] all of [the Cisco] make to give [customers] a rich experience.
  • Easy to manage platform
  • Cost effective
  • Enhanced user experience
Cons
  • Licensing seems to be on costly side[.]
It supports around 8 to 10 collaboration applications. It's [cost-effective] considering [one-time] deployment.Helps in increasing productivity. Easy to deploy and manage platform.

[Cisco Business Edition 7000] is being used by the whole organization as well as by our customers. This addresses the scalability to deploy a UC cluster. As this is a VM environment, this makes admin easy to manage.
  • Scalable
  • Easy to maintain and manage
Cons
  • [Cisco Business Edition 7000 could use a] session border controller feature
[Cisco Business Edition 7000 is] well suited for collaborations.

I've set up collaboration nodes for a few of our customers. Used this to support small-sized and medium-sized deployments. Small being under 1000 users and medium being a 3000 user set up. Application servers came pre-installed/pre-deployed, so that saved a lot of our time which usually would've been spent in downloading iso files copying them to datastores and setting up the nodes.
  • The fact that the nodes come pre-installed.
  • Easy to set up.
  • Saves a lot of installation, pre-installation time.
Cons
  • Integrated email notifications on hardware failure.
  • Expensive
Its well suited for small to medium scale deployments if the infra is in-house. Webex and other SaaS solutions are in demand these days and are cost-effective too, but if for some reason your deployments need a locally-managed data center, then go for the BE7K or the BE6K depending upon your requirement.

The entire company is using the BE 7K as a phone system and we have no plans of leaving.
  • Solid uptime.
  • Virtual environment.
  • ROI on purchase after several years.
Cons
  • Expensive to bring up.
  • Not open sip.
Cisco's 7000S is a solid option for businesses. Mainly it offers better-than-average opportunities for integration, and a superior list of cutting-edge features including voice, video and instant messaging all managed from a single dashboard. Their reputation for customer support is also of note. The company, however, does not advertise prices and does not offer an uptime service guarantee.
