Network connectivity to our students and staff, including VOIP phone services. They are an affordable replacement switch that can be slipped into IDF closes with very little pain or issues. They are easily managed and allow us to offer or maintain the level of connectivity a lab or classroom requires.

We use Catalyst switches in our core, distribution, and access layers. All business functions use these switches since they all connect via these switches. Since we run MPLS on our switches, virtualize and isolate the different business function into their own VRFs.

They are our main client access switches. They provide all of our inter office communications coupled with a router. We utilize Catalyst switches with PoE to power our phones, IP Cameras, IP Clocks, and a host of other items. They are very dependable. Rarely do we have issues with these switches.

We are a school system, so our end users do anything from just browsing the web, presenting content rich curriculum, streaming live or recorded media, assessments, and the list goes on. Catalyst switches play a very large role in keeping our end users connected to an always on world. If our users lose connectivity they are very vocal about the problem, so we want to ensure reliability in our network.

We use Catalyst switches for multiple functions within our company. We use Catalyst for our access layer switches to connect all of our end users quickly so that they can perform their duties. We also use these types of switches to aggregate services/devices in our locations that do not require more robust solutions.

Our switches provide Ethernet connectivity to conference users, students, teachers and leased companies. They are the backbone to wireless conference rooms, classrooms, classes, offices, and rental office space. Because of the spread out nature of our campuses we heavily rely on the central management capability of the 6880 and 6800ia switches. We also have a bell system and emergency announcements that require multicast with informacast. Multicast works well on these switches including intra vlan routing.
