Our organization is not large enough to need these tools nor have the funds to pay for them. If we were larger we would add this to our operations as we can see their benefits. It may take us a little longer to deploy each device, but when its one or two at a time it's not that much effort versus if you were deploying 10 or more. These tools are for efforts of scale in saving time and resource budget.

No problems with any of the Cisco Catalyst Switch platform features within the enterprise environment. It is very handy to have access to licensed features such as Dot1Q tunneling out of the box. This helps significantly by making more complex deployments quick and easy. Possibly a positive and a negative, but the traditional IOS makes it easy to use for legacy users.

We are just now starting to work with some of the management tools they have available. At this point I can not really offer much on this yet.

We like that some of the models like the 3650 series support stacking. There are also many software apps to configure and make changes in the switches. There is a sufficient number of models to choose from depending on the requirements of POE, modules support, etc. The switches are also easy to manage in most cases.

Yes, In our organization we are managing many network VLAN segments and in this case, Cisco Catalyst 2960-X/XR is very handy and provides all its benefits of it. We have many overseas offices also and everywhere we are using the same product and via advanced customization to achieve better performance and most importantly reliable and stable network throughout.

Cisco Catalyst 3560-CX Series Switches perfectly fit our company's needs. We can leverage their manageable features to further adapt them to the specific needs of the production environment or small offices. What's important to me is that the device I configure works the way I want it to. Even if I use unusual, creative solutions, the 3560-CX works perfectly here.

Cisco Catalyst Switches provide really advanced customization -> we have some cisco catalyst switches with specific modlues for gigabit etheret or ten gigabit ethernet interface connections. There are also modules for for SFP. It is also superb that you can use 2 power supply modules, that can be connected to separated electrical parts.

Our organization does indeed benefit from Cisco's ability to bake in a lot of functionality into their products. Need some layer 3 functionality at a location with a 3850? Pay Cisco some money and activate that IP services license! Boom, now you have layer 3 without buying another piece of equipment. This alone makes Cisco a very attractive product for a lot of companies.

We used the advanced customization features to create a VSS between our dual Catalyst 6880s. This provided streamlined administration and monitoring.

The usage of the expansionports (for 10-gig interfaces) is a must, one could argue that it should be fixed ports, but when you build a stack maybe only one unit actually needs 10-gig. In regards to mangeability when you use the 9300 as distribution router it's really just a part of it's nature to fully use SNMPv3, SSH and so for management.

We are currently looking into getting the consultancy part of our company to get up to speed with automation. Configuring 300 switches would normally take a lot of time using the classic CLI but using python, templates and available APIs the amount of time spend configuring is significantly improved. Impressive.

Unfortunately our company didn't benefit yet fro; advanced customization and manageability, we currently use the cisco catalyst switches serie in a more traditionnal way, CLI, Scripts etc...
we are planning to modernize our deployments and exploitation soon, and maybe we will need to have a look at this in the near future.
