Overall Cisco does a very good job supporting all of their products. However, there is always the human element that plays a role in support. I have had some issues with the timeliness of the resolution and some people don't have the expected customer service skills or training. Which can be frustrating when you are getting pressure from your bosses.

If I am unable to locate the support I need to complete a task from the data sheets which are provided online I can utilize the other resources available to me. Some of those resources are the Cisco Connection Program Community where there are many questions asked for similar issues or by utilizing the TAC team as mentioned before. Either resource I am able to resolve any issues I experience.

So far we haven't had very many support issues with our Catalyst switches. When we have had issues TAC is always a pleasure to work with. They're prompt, knowledgeable, and take ownership of the case from open to close. Also, this isn't attributed to Cisco support directly. But because they are so widely known and have such a great market share you can find a solution to almost any issue with a quick internet search.

Product support is one area that Cisco leads the field in. Other vendors try providing technical support for their products. When I purchase catalyst switches I know that "IF" I where to have a problem with one of my Cisco Catalyst switches that I can either open a TAC case online or over the phone and a knowledgeable person will be able to help me with what ever the issue is.
