  • Reliability--Once correctly set up, there are very few things that go wrong with these.
  • Management--Although complex, which is how enterprise products are, the APs have a logical management feature set.
  • Industry-standard compatibility--There will be very few vendors who say that they don't support Cisco APs.
  • GUI--I find the few available GUIs are not up to the standard that some other vendors, such as Ubiquiti, or even Cisco's own Meraki range are.

  • First off, the overall physical design. Slim, light, and can be mounted anywhere. Blends into ceilings/walls and is easy to mount. (Clients are very picky with overall look sometimes).
  • Easy to deploy and configure, making the setup very quick, minimizing any potential downtime during installation and/or maintenance upgrades.
  • Fast and reliable at a decent price point for the clients.
  • From the tech side, there are no issues that I have ran into as of yet with these APs.

  • Works well in high-client-density environments.
  • Built strong to run for long periods in harsh environments.
  • Antenna selection makes them usable in all kinds of designs.
  • Excellent features and ability to be tuned.
  • The Cisco Catalyst 9120 Access Point is very different from traditional AireOS devices so there is a higher learning curve.
  • Bugs in some of the codes.
  • Getting it to join a legacy Wireless LAN Controller is harder.
