Just a switch!
- Ability to replace power supplies instead of replacing the whole switch
- Having redundant power supply
- It wont scale well when extra features are needed
- Unable to segregate clients on large deployments
- Long life span. They usually last 7+ years. Some even more than 15+ years.
- Very reliable. No need to reboot for long time.

A good evolution of a good access switch
- Better throughput to increase wireless AP density
- Modular uplink versions needed for SD-Access VRF support
- High ROI given the cost is low to purchase and minimal recurring costs, especially if you don't need or renew the Essentials or other license and stick with perpetual term licensing

- We use NFR so not really an impact. Being a Cisco shop we dont have any serious problems with ROI
- Customers love Cisco Catalyst switches as they perform great and capable of all fulfilling all customer needs. A single switch can perform as router/switch/poe/trunks/multicast (For overhead paging. school bell system etc.)
- With frequent IOS upgrades always ready to support day 1/ 0 day equipment. ROI impact is very positive.
