The Catalyst stack allows us to connect 8 switches, to be managed from one IP, it simplifies everything, before we need to connect on each switch, losing much time to know where is the problem, now, in 1 connection, we can inspect 8 devices in a single connection. We use 2960 with stack cables.

I can say that the Catalyst 9300 switches are more designed to be used in distribution or access switches. Even though they are quite powerful in terms of switching and reliability, they can't fight with the 9500 and the Virtual StackWise technology

We have no previous experience with any of the Catalyst switches. Later on, we found it necessary, and we had experience with Cisco and had found it a very trustable company, so we decided to go for the Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series Switches. They met our expectations and we are having a great experience with better management of high bandwidth and high-speed interconnections.

We actually replaced our old core switch Cisco Catalyst 6800 series switch with the Cisco Catalyst 9500 series switches, for the enhancement performance, DNA-ready for future era, and the upgraded throughput and to reduce the cost of power consumption and cooling. Even the cost of support is much better than the old switches.

Cisco has an excellent capabilities compared with other vendors, also the integration that Cisco has with the top IT solution in the market makes a big different. Other things that make the difference are the support documentation that you can find in the web and the quantity of vendors with the experience in Cisco solutions.

While we were evaluating new options for our core distribution, we looked at various other vendors. The selection process included Meraki and other well known contenders. We are happily migrating our wireless systems over to Meraki, but we felt the options for core switching from other vendors were not up to par with the offerings Cisco had.

We have been using 6500 and 4200 which were replaced by 9500 and what I personally liked there is no multiple blades combination and no supervisor deals as there were to many dependencies on them. I also recommend Cisco nexuses as they also give good performance mainly in data center but big office will also see benefit of having them.

The Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series Switches have run with zero issues, and you never a need to reboot them, which has been vital to us during complex server management projects and migrations. Other vendors' products generally lack in one of these areas.

The Catalyst 9400 was not out when we were looking at new core switches. We thought about using a Nexus 9k but neither were as good of a fit as the 9500. Between price and performance it was a no-brainer for us to look at the 9500. We have not nor in the future would we consider other brands for core switching.

Cisco has a large portfolio and variety of products, especially with switches and routers. Although Cisco has been a leader for this hardware for several years these kinds of things give the customer trust. Cisco has done a good job versus competitor. Cisco's switches are very reliable and stable. Competitors don’t have the same products.

La solución de stack deberia mejorar en términos de estabilidad. Since our organization is a fully fledged Cisco house, it made sense to stick to a product that we had the capabilities to install, manage and maintain. We initially had considered Cisco vs the Nexus series, however, due to price and fit for purpose the Nexus series overall was an overkill.

Other technologies are just switches without any intelligent feature and visions like Cisco is doing.
