Cisco DNA Center is the network management system, foundational controller, and analytics platform at the heart of Cisco’s intent-based network. DNA Center addresses the demands of digitization, cloud, IoT, and mobility by eliminating IT complexity and facilitating alignment with business intent, unifying policy, automation, and assurance with integrated security.

Cisco states that they have 30 years of experience and an end-to-end portfolio provided to help customers manage technology transitions, with embedded security detects threats in mere hours instead of in months.

Cisco now offers a two-question, two-minute interactive tool to identify the Cisco products and services that can help users solve up to five network challenges.

Cisco DNA Center can be a pricey option to install. If customers are looking to just do Prime or PnP features, there are a million products, and most are cheaper. I would at least tell them the benefits that DNA Center provides with the PnP functionality, because it certainly provides a step above, but not enough to justify the price point. For Prime (or SolarWinds) functions, we are being promised most of the necessary features in version 1.4, so I would only recommend for that case on a roadmap from Cisco.

However, for customers who are looking for the benefits of SD-Access, I would highly recommend this product. Cisco got the SDN right on this one. The DNA Center pushes the configuration, but allows access to the switch in case you need to manually change something. The SD-Access deployment with the concept of the OOB network being the default VRF is absolutely outstanding. The DNA Center alleviates the strain of manual configuration, but provides the functionality with tested protocols such as LISP and VXLAN.

We have multiple switch stacks in multiple building and closets. We use DNAC to push out configs and policies. It is also very useful for troubleshooting wifi issues with Assurance. The product provides a single pane of glass approach to network management.

Cisco DNA Center is great for managing software upgrades across multiple device platforms and sites. It's also great for a quick at-a-glance view of the overall health of your network access, whether it be wired or wireless. It is not the best for smaller deployments, in my opinion. That might be overkill.

Best suited in an organization where you can benefit from day 0 provisioning which makes it easier to deploy the equipment and saving time and money in shipping. Less appropriate in small environments such as a single building. Overall Cisco DNA Center has been hard to implement due to the multiple layers required to make the system function properly but once implemented we are happy with the product.

Medium-scale to Large scale corporations, as it will tie up most of the infrastructure in 1 cohesive control center. Small to Medium-sized enterprises are a bit too small for Cisco DNA, however, if rampant growth is expected, it should be highly considered albeit the price for the initial investment is high.

The implementation of Cisco DNA Center has assisted us in automating configuration. When it comes to traffic management or network analysis, this is a fantastic tool. It comes in handy when we need to deploy quickly. It's extremely adaptable because it can integrate with other programs and devices. With the help of Cisco DNA Center, automation and quality assurance have become second-nature processes. Before launching this program, we had to actually think about security.

I highly recommend Cisco DNA Software to anyone who uses Cisco devices and products. It makes it easy to manage them and the integration is seamless. However, some legacy devices and even some of the latest third-party devices are not supported by this application. Troubleshooting for Cisco devices is easy but for third-party devices, it's a hassle sometimes.

The company backbone consist mainly Cisco devices and they work very well. Cisco DNA Center allows us to integrate them flawless. As my main concern is the security, CDC's integrated security modules provides me another angle on each end-point apart from other tools we use. Lastly, I save time with its automation features. I can define flows and manage them on a dashboard.

Cisco DNA Center is well suited for mid-to-larger businesses that want to start getting into SDN in an approachable way. Cisco DNA Center is obviously better suited for organizations that already rely on Cisco for most of their networking infrastructure needs, but can work with other devices as well to some extent.

DNA Center automation and assurance is highly recommended for scenarios where you have a certified architecture with Cisco devices, as it allows you to extend the visibility and automated functionalities from the LAN to the border with the WAN. On the contrary, I would only recommend DNA Center Assurance if you have equipment from multiple manufacturers since there would be no compatibility of the automation module with devices other than Cisco.

Also, if you have a lot of Cisco devices [distributed] in different and [distant] locations, Cisco DNA Center is a very good solution to automate the configuration, installation and monitoring [for] the [network] devices. As the number of network devices and end-points increases in the network, more centralization requirements occur. On the SIEM side, Splunk centralizes all the monitoring, visualization, and automation. Cisco DNA Center emerges on the hardware side with its automation and visibility increasing abilities.

Cisco DNA Center is suited for large scale, high budget environments that primarily use Cisco products and utilize a centralized management and monitoring strategy. If you only have a couple of Cisco switches, a smaller network, or a lower budget, this may not be the most cost-effective solution out there.

Very likely would recommend. The goal of keeping everything in the Cisco ecosystem is ease of use. You can count on their systems to work well together and mostly "just work". You pay the premium for such but that's life. After having all these devices connected to the DNA center, it would be tough going to any other vendor, which sounds like a smart business decision by them!

Automating customers' campus networks, redesigning their networks, and giving much more visibility on traffic flows. If you plan to implement, I suggest you follow the guide step by step and do not proceed on your own, else you'll face a lot of problems and you'll need lots of support from Cisco TAC.
