Before the pandemic the notion of softphone was far in the clouds. We know that they existed, but the company did not see a need in them. The desk phone was more than sufficient for taking and making calls from and too the users. Once the pandemic took fool effect and business need to change the way of working, allowing mobility and general working from anywhere except the office, the desk phone become obsolete and a replacement was needed. Cisco Jabber was the perfect choice. The tool presented it self in front of our team. Sleek designee, easy to configure, fast to use, compatibility with Cisco Finesse. It is was the perfect tool at the right time. At this moment our teams become completely mobile and can take and make calls to our users from anywhere there is a internet connection. Integrated with our systems, the tool contains all our users and you can find anyone with a stoke of a key and call them directly. Also a feature used by the team is authenticate users using the video call option. A great tool to use in the helpdesk environment.

We used Cisco Jabber softphone functions while working remotely and in the office to decompress the workspace. It is a great alternative to a hard phone, however, the lack of features compared to other communication tools showed more obvious during the pandemic, such as lack of easy multi-call or voice-to-text, features that things like Zoom and Teams bring out of the box. Would recommend it as a softphone but nothing else.

Using Cisco Jabber was a huge game changer during the pandemic (and beyond). Not only did this save time, phone calls, and trips to each other's offices, it improved communication amongst our team and across other departments. The functionality of this program is awesome as it also allows video conferencing as well as phone calls - perfect for working from home!

When in my office, I am able to place and receive phone calls from my computer, using my desk phone and office number. When working remotely, I am able to place and receive phone calls from my computer, using my office number. My location of work is transparent to those I'm collaborating with.

I am also able to have visibility of incoming phone calls to my coworkers, and answer their phones if they aren't available, no matter my location. Customer service is enhanced by this flexibility.

I'm not sure if it's Cisco Jabber, or the Cisco phone system, but the delivery of voicemail to my email inbox is an improvement to voicemail that has seriously improved voicemail technology.

I have been using Cisco Jabber since last two years and this is my go-to tool for calling both internal & external partners and chatting with Internal partners. The audio quality is superb, and I really like the feature of screen share which is why I do not have to jump to other platforms. Great UI & definitely recommended to use.

We also use it for video calls, although we are now using Microsoft Teams and Zoom more for this as our external clients use these platforms as their main collaboration platforms. We use other Cisco products are pleased with the overall conenctivity and seamless operation between them and Cisco Jabber.

I support and troubleshoot the problems faced by the users those who use Cisco Jabber phone to communicate various requirements to their clients. Cisco Jabber is a softphone that is used for inbound and outbound calling as well can be used for conference and call transfer. While troubleshooting i normally came accross various issues like phone is not able to connect to the server, also observed issue related to conference call. Cisco Jabber communicate to the call manager and their by call manager manages the routing and calling search space and where and how the call will get routed. Sometimes the new users follow incorrect method of login or the format of login is incorrect then also the phone unable to connect to the server. It communicates through TFTP.

In my organization, we use Jabber for calls, messages, and presence. This is the device we use to log in to Cisco UCCX Finesse too. We difficultly have a problem with it. Even login inside the company ou by MRA. If there is a problem, I may remind you about the login. It involves LDAP, and once a time, this integration fails.
