We use Cisco NX-OS for some of our cores at certain sites. We also use Cisco NX-OS at some of our data server environments. NX-OS addresses the high availability, high modularity, and high performance needs for these type of environments in our organization.
Cisco NX-OS is best suited in data center environments, or in other parts of your network ,that require providing connectivity to servers and applications that will benefit from high redundancy, high bandwidth, and high packet forwarding appliances.
We use the product for our data set. The idea there is that we need, well I guess the problem we face is that we have a lot of servers that need fast network communication. The idea is that using this platform, we achieve cut through switching and we have no downtime. The platform's robust, it ticks a lot of boxes around security, efficiency, scalability, some of the best out there.
I think the Nexus platform is really well suited in the data center. When your requirements are zero downtime when you need, I guess just really fast communications. Where it's probably not suited, you probably wouldn't put it, it's probably not your home router. I definitely wouldn't recommend it, but sitting in the data center where it does its job, that's perfect. Have a place to put it.
This product is used in the data center networking environment to support the vm, SX and other third party service.
This is our data center core switches and it's suited for a big organization like us hosting 3000 plus VM and we are using NXOS in the core plus aggregation and remote campus areas.
My experience with Cisco NX-OS dates back to about five years ago, using it to prevent network outages and optimization of networks. My team uses the software to gain visibility into network data and ASIC telemetry. We have integrated Cisco NX-OS with other DevOps automation tools to simplify all NX-OS programming.
Cisco NX-OS is probably the best way to build a reliable data center network to prevent downtimes. While other solutions provide only the basic SRv6 architectures for networks, Cisco NX-OS goes an extra mile to help enable Data Center interconnection (DCI) with your WAN to tone down on the network complexity. NX-OS from Cisco would also bring in more flexibility on how you manage your networks and scale more easily.
This Cisco NX-OS switches were used as main switches by my client. It solved the business points like providing high performance in its job. EIGRP and VXLAN were configured on these without slowing down their performance. This NX-OS operating system run switches are mature enough and these NX-OS switches run for long durations without any issues.
Ease of use and learning is easier. The documentation for CIsco NX-OS is very good as it was in the market for many years. There are very good case scenarios and wiki pages written by well-experienced experts. These pages will provide quick resolution techniques for the most occurring frequent problems and misconfiguration issues.
Cisco NX-OS starting was very easy and effective through its clean, professional interface full of multiple and very functional components. Ability on networking and network monitoring Cisco NX-OS is among the best solution and its reports are reliable and easy to provide. Management of various operations this tool was the best and very responsive features with various capabilities.
This easy solution can be a great help for the big companies on easy multiple data processing and effective networking solutions for the various departments and also generating the real-time data reports with Cisco NX-OS is excellent. For the new users, it takes no time to become a pro on full manipulation of the features and offer the best and quality management services.
Reliable Cisco platform that improves the performance of the network and easy to implement the platform with high-performance functionalities. With this solution is quite easy to stretch VLANs and enhancement of multiple business operations and also a very effective Automation platform and easy data analytics and also a very secure platform.
Cisco NX-OS offers excellent capabilities for performance acceleration and easy to manage multiple business network operations and a very secure environment that provides multiple different features and is very easy to get started. Cisco NX-OS offers capabilities on easy use of API which allows effective interaction with the OS and configuration is very easy.
The Cisco NX-OS is a very good IOS software by Cisco. We are controlling all the necessary things using this OS. It is easy to work and administrate. It is easy to configure these nx-os moreover if you face any issues we can every time reach out to Cisco for help and support. overall a very good product.
The software NX-OS is a very good IOS developed by Cisco. It is very easy to configure and administrate these NX-OS devices. A lot of improved and high availability HA on the NX-OS. A lot of features and added advantages while we use the devices which have NX-OS. overall we are very happy with the product and we recommend it to all to start using.
Cisco NX-OS is used on some Nexus switches in our datacenter. These switches connect to both blade enclosures and individual servers, all of which contain virtual machines. The Nexus switches have the ability to connect to servers with 10GbE and can also converge Ethernet and FibreChannel on a single cable hence simplifying the data centre layout.
Cisco NX-OS is designed to run on data centre switches, and for me the key benefit is the ability to merge Ethernet and fire channel management into a single switch hence reducing cabling and management. However we don't require fibre channel at present so these are just being used for the fact they offer 10GbE on every port, which is still a useful feature in the data centre core.
Given we don't use the fibre channel features, having to learn the difference in commands from IOS is a little frustrating at times.
Cisco NX-OS is being used on core Nexus switches to tie together closets as well as tie in VM infrastructure. It is being used across the organization. Cisco NX-OS provides resilience to our infrastructure, because we have all closets tied into both Nexus switches. It also provides VPCs which are helpful with resilience.
Cisco NX-OS is an excellent option for a core switch if you need solid resilience. It provides a solid level of security for a core switch as well. If you aren't going to be running multiple connections from wiring closets or VM infrastructure then a less pricey option would be recommended unless you need the port bandwidth. Personally I think the VPC functionality within NX-OS is relatively easy to use and works well.
