Duo is the easiest one to use and definitely has the fastest turn around for sending you a code. I really enjoy using Duo and would recommend that anyone use this for their MFA.

Cisco Secure Access by Duo, against WatchGuard AuthPoint, is a broader tool with more applicability across applications to my knowledge. I also find it to be faster, and simpler for users to understand. For example, with Authpoint, the tokens that appear and "count down" seem to confuse users. Cisco Secure Access by Duo avoids this problem by not showing the token - reducing the stress of the users and resulting in a better overall user experience.

Cisco Duo is superior to Google or Microsoft Authenticator. At their most basic levels all three do a fine job of providing MFA access codes and all three can work off the same QR code to set up new MFA configurations. Cisco provides a centralized management with policies and very nice recoverability vs. just a nice, basic authenticator app that the other two products offer.

We use Microsoft O365, and it looks like I can leverage my existing license to save money by moving away from Cisco Secure Access by Duo. I am still in the research phase, so we might or might not stay with Cisco Secure Access by Duo.

As previously mentioned, I have used email/text verifications but that requires typing or copying/pasting. Duo is much simpler. Since I wasn’t involved in the purchasing process, I don’t know what other products were considered, but I’m glad my company went with Duo.

Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is not a free application and requires a user license, unlike other solutions such as Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. However, you do get what you pay for. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo provides great backups of stored tokens, central management, granular policies, and integrations with several cloud-based applications. The free applications lack the advanced features we desired for enhancing our security.

Okta had some different methods and features which stacked up closely with Cisco Duo but we went with Cisco Duo for the assurance that the system would perfectly integrate with our other cisco products and the ability to acquire support from one vendor instead of having to bring in two vendors for any potential issue that could come across in the future.

I would like to setup a lifecycle management process like Okta in Duo.

It's easier to deploy. When comparing the quality of technical support, Duo Security is the preferred option. Duo has better integration options for out-to-the-box on-premise and cloud applications. The dashboard brings you more reports, and the access event logging is very complete. The quality of end-user training and documentation is superior.
I think the relation price vs. value Cisco Secure Access by Duo has the best rating: service & support, integration & deployment, licensing, and capability.

When we were researching Multi-Factor Authentication platforms we also looked at Okta. Okta is also a decent product overall, but we just were not as impressed. It’s definitely not as slick as Duo. It didn’t let us in the server the first time, but that could have been a timing issue. It doesn’t seem to remember when we told it to remember to auto-Push and just seems a bit clunky. Also, Okta does not work with the SSL VPN solution we are using and doesn't work to authenticate Linux servers. We found that overall Duo was a much better product and fit our needs much more closely.

Both systems are great but Duo Mobile's security prompt allows us that extra layer of protection that we need with our organization. We deal with a lot of clients' private information that needs to be maintained confidential.

We choose Duo as we found the end-user interface much easier and more intuitive than other solutions. The push notification feature also worked very smoothly and was a factor in the decision. From the Administrator and security team side - the features and capabilities of Duo were more granular and answered our requirements for visibility and monitoring of this important tool.

I have used other security dual-factor authentication apps such as pulse and other VPNs but i would say they are not as user friendly and would not recommend going to them by choice. one of the key merits that duo has is that it is a continuous log in where the authentication is just a click of the button rather than a sign in every day

Yubico also works with Duo, however, the setup and use of Yubikey's tend to be for advanced users. The lay audience will never be able to successfully deploy the use of these keys. Duo mobile apps simplify life with the bypass code creation or via push notifications. Google Authenticator is sufficient, however, Google is known to have Orwellian amounts of information about me already versus Cisco is known for "security".

The duo is highly configurable with multiple ways to authenticate. You can access a 6 digit refreshed code, we use the push feature that is life when your device requests a handshake Duo prompts the user automatically and very quickly, replying then completes the handshake. Duo also supports creating rules and user groups.

Our school is based in Microsoft 365. Azure has a product built into their licensing (provided you have purchased the appropriate level or the add-on product.) The MFA in Azure is a work in process and doesn't offer broad integration options as Duo does. We didn't look into any other commercial products.

Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo stacks up against the competition pretty well. I would say it is probably the most secure system that I have used personally; however, the level of security may be too high in some aspects, as I log in multiple days and I need to keep requesting access every day and it can be tedious at times.
