  • Cision PR Software
We selected Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* because we liked its advanced analytics and visualization and the ability to find individual journalists' interests and target them with specific pitches. We also heard that TrendKite has best in class customer service and support. But we missed the content distribution capabilities of Cision and found configuring TrendKite for our day to day and ongoing use challenging.

Cision Communications Cloud helps me quickly choose my articles and add links to access them in my page. It changed my "email with attachments" to an actual newsletter. The format is completely different and looks more professional. It also allows my readers to link articles of interest to their social networks. And the tags separate articles by category which makes it easier for my readers to go directly to the articles that interest them most.

I prefer the user experience with Cision (TrendKite)* and the account management experience is much much better. The Cision team are very well trained and love helping us to solve our problems quickly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • Cision PR Software
Cision Communications Cloud (with TrendKite) is heads above Cision PR Software (pre-TrendKite acquisition) in terms of the data you can gather from your campaigns. The widgets and reporting are extremely helpful. I think Cision PR Software may capture more articles that Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite), but the edge goes to Cision Communications Cloud because of the amount of data gleaned and how you can slice and dice it and present it.

Cision (pre-TrendKite acquisition) wasn't as modernized or approachable, and seemed to lag behind (as it turns out, our rep just hadn't kept us in loop on new features); Cision Communications Cloud (now with TrendKite)* had more welcoming UX. At the end of the day, other brands' word of mouth reviews determined Cision Communications Cloud was the best investment for our purposes.

Originally we selected Cision (TrendKite)* because we thought it was the superior option. We just made the switch over to Meltwater due to cost. It seems that Meltwater performs equally as well as Cision at a fraction of the cost.

Critical Mention is good at organizing coverage, but it is more difficult to add our own coverage that was not grabbed by the algorithm. In Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)*, it is as easy as dropping a link and the platform grabs all relevant metrics, but on Critical Mention, I have to add all of the metrics for manually added coverage, including viewership.

Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)* is far and away better for our needs. The other platforms provided number of media hits, but could not indicate who was quoted where for what.

  • Cision PR Software
Cision Communication Cloud (TrendKite)* has easier user interface, is quicker to set up dashboards, and is better for comparative purposes between competitors on coverage. Cision Communication Cloud is worse due to pulling in more irrelevant coverage, and its support staff/help features.

I haven't used either of these competing tools, but evaluated both before selecting Cision (now with TrendKite)*. Cision (before TrendKite)* was overkill for a small company like ours - too many features/functions that we didn't need. Meltwater was not capable enough - Cision (with TrendKite)* had a lot more of the capabilities we were looking for compared to Meltwater.
