ShareFile is helping us to send sensitive information securely via email, thanks to its encryption in the transfers. The fact that it is so simple to use, it doesn't take up any time and the possibility to confirm the transfers with signatures is ideal to have total guarantee that the client has received the information in a satisfactory way.
  • Easy and intuitive to use
  • Encryption of information
  • Data validation
  • Maybe it could be integrated with even more applications but for email it is ideal as it can be used with Microsoft 365 and Google
  • A lower price per user would make it more attractive
  • It would be appreciated if the standard plan could include more functionalities.
Sectors such as government, law, research centers, investigative agencies, R&D, or similar in which information protection is essential.I think that this type of sectors should work with this platform or similar mandatory in order to protect and shield the information with which they work on a daily basis.

As part of the organization that heavily uses data from a research facility, we have a huge need for a system that securely sends sensitive data heavy files from multiple users to multiple organizations. So ShareFile is heavily used in the organization as a way to securely package the file and send it to multiple parties.
  • Clean Interface
  • Security
  • Unlimited Storage
  • Ability to add Comments/Notes with Files
  • No editing available for files
  • No Project management capability
ShareFile is a great resource and application for sharing files that are data-heavy and have sensitive information. The software is built for businesses that deal with multiple users and external clients and need to share sensitive information securely. Sharefile also has multiple features that can customize the sharing experience based on the business needs.

In my insurance industry role, there were many documents I had to process that required signatures. In the new virtual work environment, companies need a way to sign important documents securely; moreover, it has to be easy to use and this is where Citirx RightSignature played a big role. There was no need for me to print, scan, and email and insurance related documentation.
  • Ease of use
  • Reduces waste (reducing need for paper)
  • Provides a free trail
  • Occasional outages
  • Manual signature can be difficult
  • Compatibility issues
Citrix RightSignature is well suited for companies that have shifted from an in person work environment to a 100% remote work environment. This product is well suited for insurance, legal, medical, or any other field where reduction of paper use would be encouraged. For organizations utilizing hybrid or in-person work models, this product may not be necessary.

Sharefile is mostly used by the two largest departments in our company...Preconstruction and Operations. We use it in lieu of running/hosting an FTP site. Its main purpose in context is to host files we would like to share and collaborate with people outside our organization. The Precon department uses it to host files for bids and if we win the job the Sharefile site moves to the Op's department to share files for the rest of the project. It solves the issue of trying to share large files outside of our company. We also use Sharefile's Enterprise capability of making internal based files available to our remote employees in a mobile app from Sharefile.
  • Sharefile is very good at making [our site] appear as an old fashioned FTP site to our non-technical contractors and customers who just want to be able to download files with no technical knowledge needed. This helps keep down support calls from outside the company.
  • Sharefile also has a great Outlook Plugin, which we do not use anymore as we standardized our email platform elsewhere, that allows your internal users the ability of sending any file size up to 2GB. It is seamless and does not require user knowledge.
  • For those companies that host files on-premise but want to "cloudify" them and make them available anywhere via a mobile app, Sharefile's enterprise grade capability works well for us. We have several drive letters that all users in the company can see and I can now make those available to anyone whether on or off premise.
  • Although their FTP like sharing capabilities are good, the ability to set up a site for many to share, there is a limit on how much granular config you can do on it. I would like to see them expand that to more capability.
  • I would like to see them have the capability to save the attachments from the Sharefile plugin sends longer. As it is they expire and one cannot go back a year and see what actual file they sent.
  • Their tech support has gone under the umbrella of Citrix's main support line so it takes too long and too much hassle to get to an actual Sharefile support person.
Sharefile is best suited for companies that already leverage CItrix or have no specific ties to any remote access type products. However, if a company is completely standardized on another product such as being a 100% VMWARE shop, that company may receive less benefit though even in that case Sharefile could be made to work pretty well despite the lack of continuity with the base products.

ShareFile was used for encrypted file sharing between clients. One of the biggest concerns in our industry was sending information that contains PII through email. ShareFile offered a way to both sends files through an encrypted portal as well as sending emails through the same portal. ShareFile was implemented throughout our organization as the go-to product for these situations.
  • Ease of Use. Outlook plugin integrates effectively.
  • File retention policy (automatic deletion, archiving).
  • Users grow quickly (each client gets a separate account). Automated pruning would be nice.
  • I'm not aware of integration with Office365 online (only the outlook app). This could make it harder for some users.
  • It would be nice to have something that auto-scans emails and attachments for PII and would require Sharefile for those emails.
ShareFile works very well for sending encrypted attachments through the Outlook app. The one-click feature makes it intuitive for users. There are two scenarios I can think of where it wouldn't fit as well. If you have a significant user base who does not use the Outlook app ShareFile may be harder to implement as users would have to go to the web portal. Additionally, the Outlook app has an automated feature where it will encrypt files over a certain size. This inconsistency can annoy some users but that will be more of a deployment detail.

Citrix Right Signature is the platform we use to develop the templates to have potential clients sign contracts. It is very easy to use software where I input the pdf and add an overlay letting the client as well as our VP of Sales where they should be signing. It is super simple to use for every party. It allows us to save time in waiting for them to sign documents and then forward them via email or fax. This tool is used in our Billing department as well as sales.
  • Easy to use platform.
  • Great features.
  • I wish it kept me logged in all day long.
I am sure there is similar software out there that offers this similar service but I will say that it takes me about 2-3 minutes to create a service agreement and forward it to the client. All over the phone, I can walk them through the signing process to get it back and continue to the next portion of the sales cycle.

RightSignature was used in my organization to communicate and obtain signatures from clients on vital documents for quoting and binding insurance policies. It made our jobs easier because of the electronic capabilities as many of our clients are contractors that work on site and do not readily have access to a computer. This was really the only part of the program that I was able to use, while some other users have experienced other capabilities. We had recently switched to another, more comprehensive system to better fit our business needs, but this program certainly did the trick for what we needed it for and the time used.
  • Electronic communication
  • Ease of use
  • Integration with business management systems
  • More comprehensive system
  • Editable documents rather than use of only .pdf
  • Allow Multiple users/signers for one document
This program would be best suited for an organization who readily requires signatures for documents and needs them quickly. The capabilities of this program would be great for that. An organization that conducts business face-to-face and can obtain signatures that way would not necessarily benefit from this program. Additionally, organizations that do not use signatures or documents requiring them would not benefit from this program.

We use ShareFile for all of our field teams to be able to easily access the project documents while they are on site throughout our area of operations. Using ShareFile has helped our "out of the office groups" have access to all their necessary project documents while having them backed up, all without having to wait for long download times from remote servers. It also allowed our teams to share pertinent information with our subcontractors as needed while still keeping them safe from tampering.
  • I think that one of ShareFile's greatest strengths is its ease of use. With the outlook plug-in sharing large documents is so quick and easy.
  • I also like the security and control that is provided for who can access the documents and tracking the changes within them. I think it does well at protecting information that leaves the company.
  • I also think the website is well organized and easy to use. It was very easy for us to implement and train our employees on the proper use of the website and software.
  • One of the downsides that I noticed was that there is no document lockout tool so if multiple users were to access and edit a file at the same time there is potential for version errors.
  • Strong internet coverage is required. Without good internet, accessing files and syncing them to the cloud could be difficult.
  • The price can be a bit high especially for the smaller businesses but you do get the support that is not available for free cloud services like Google Drive.
Industry-tailored workflows: ShareFile has 10 key industries and the workflow will match that industry. For example: for accounting, the app will display options for clients to sign documents, which cuts out on them having to post or fax documents. I think it is not as good for small businesses especially if you have part-time employees as paying for their access as well can add up quickly for overall costs.

It's being used by the finance departments and it's used in IT. Customers can send users secure files in a ShareFile. Our staff gets notified and is able to download the files. It's a great way to send large files securely. We can place links in our email auto signature and on our website so our customers can send files to us.
  • It stores files securely
  • It provides email notifications when files are uploaded, viewed and downloaded.
  • You can provide customers and employees URL's to either upload files to you or download files from you.
  • ShareFile has a widget that you can use to build a form that can be placed on your website so that customers can upload files to your shared folders within ShareFile. If you need to change the widget you have to start over and create a new widget. It would be helpful if you could just edit the widget.
It works very well for sending and receiving applications, sensitive documents or Excel lists. You have the ability to monitor when someone views, downloads, or uploads files. I also like how you can put a retention policy on files so they can be purged automatically after a set time period.

At our financial institution we use Citrix ShareFile to send and receive important documents from our customers that contain confidential information. This secure way of transferring data is a very useful tool. Our IT department manages the administration part of the cloud based software. However, its used all across our organization.
  • Citrix Sharefile solution has great features. It provides a secure portal for file sharing. You may access the content from any device.
  • Integration with Office 365 is a great way to collaborate and create powerful workflows.
  • Encryption of emails and files. The plugin allows the implementation of these useful tools into Microsoft Outlook.
  • Better reporting: A detailed report of total usage company wide would give a great way to provide statistical data to auditors and examiners on who uses the tool and frequency.
  • Customizable dashboard: A better way to see activity would be a great way to have a visual representation of activity and usage.
You can increase productivity by automating workflows. Also, send files for legally binding e-signature right from the ShareFile account. It's a perfect business solution for sending secure files back and forward. End user simply registers via an email invite. The requirement is that you must have an active email account to register.

On the product side, we use ShareFile to upload documentation to support our physical products (i.e., web content, FAQs, dimensions, etc. for reference on our website).

On the marketing side, we use ShareFile to upload imagery used for the website and for email campaigns. It's an easy way for us to collaborate on projects, annotate files, access those files anywhere, and keep a running log of what our marketing efforts are.
  • I love that I can annotate directly on a file. For example, I can mark the area where I find some weird imagery or mark some content that I'd like to change. I can make annotations on the side for the designer to review.
  • It's so easy to upload content, add recipients, create a workflow, review annotations, reply to annotations, upload new versions, and so on.
  • The file system is like any other you'd expect so there is no learning curve. You can create folders and sub-folders (both personal and public), star items, share/request files, and more. It's so quick and easy to get started.
  • Annotations, annotations, annotations. I love them, BUT there is this very annoying problem where, if I begin typing an annotation, someone else starting to type in an annotation will stop me (even though I started before them) from writing. It actually removes anything I wrote. You'd think this would have been caught early on, but it has been an issue for over a year and is very frustrating for me. Our workflows typically involve 4-5 people, but sometimes up to 10. When a workflow gets initiated and we get the notification email, many of us pop in there at the same time and fight over who is annotating what. When we have a doc that is 8+ pages long, it becomes highly time-consuming for this reason alone.
  • Back to the annotations again, if there are many markups on a page, it is nearly impossible to figure out where the annotation belongs. For example, if there are 3 on one page, it's very easy to follow the line to the area the annotation belongs. But when you get conversations in the annotations (e.g., 'Change this to XXXX' and someone replies 'Would you prefer if YYYY were moved to replace XXXX?') which naturally happens, and when those annotations stack up (such as in our product mailers that display 6 product images, titles, prices, SKUs, sub SKUs, content blurb), that takes up space FAST. You can't click an annotation and follow its track. You're left to figure it out on your own.
  • There is no animation support for .gifs. I don't know if this is intentional, impossible, or what. But we are moving more into .gif graphics and it's impossible to see the animation within ShareFile. We also cannot annotate .gifs, so there's that.
It is well-suited for most organizations that require approvals from multiple points of contact inside (and outside) an organization, for companies who need a cloud-based solution where they can store files and collaborate amongst teams to get that file to its optimal form.

I don't think it would be well-suited for organizations that don't have an extensive approval process. There are other cloud-based file systems that can do this function for a lower price. The collaboration/approval aspect is a large component of it, so a small team that can quickly jump into a meeting to discuss something may not greatly benefit from this tool.

We are an AS9100 company that must conform to the NIST 800-171 and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Clause 252.204-7012 due to doing business with the US Government. Citrix ShareFile is being used by our organization to securely transfer engineering data from our engineers, project managers and estimators to our vendors and customers. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information), it is required for us to safeguard the information and know where it has been and where it went.
  • First and foremost, it is simple to use. Within minutes of our purchase of ShareFile, we were up and running with our first user and client.
  • Second, there are multiple ways to use and take advantage of ShareFile. There is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, a desktop app as well as Sync. All options are easily implemented and simple to navigate.
  • Third, When thinking about simplicity and making it as seamless as possible for your end users, you can also set up ShareFile as a Drive Map that allows your users to take advantage of the Windows file system without dealing with synchronization of account content.
  • There are so many advantages to this product, however, I feel that the simplicity and functionality are the main advantages. Citrix ShareFile tech support is amazing and they really (if you need help) answer all question extremely fast.
  • In my experience with Citrix ShareFile, I have not found any significant CONs to report. Many people may have Drobox and other products...I would say that these products are not an apples-to-apples comparison. There are significantly different pricing structures between products, some of them being a little on the pricey side if you are a small business.
  • I have heard of a few people having issues with browser compatibility, however, I have not. We have about 20 users that are using IE11 as well as Edge w/ Windows 10 Pro and we haven't experienced any issues at all.
  • The only function/feature I would like to see improved is the audit reporting and logs. You have to go to each folder/individual to obtain the activity log/report and to me that is cumbersome. I would like to see a centralized audit log generation tool that categorizes the users and the folders and provides details needed.
Well suited for people that need to transfer large files between people or businesses. We were using FTP & password (AES256) encrypted Zip files to transfer data, which is fine for an every now and then function but was becoming a hindrance to productivity. The communication between sender and recipient was slowing down the process of delivering and receiving the content due to providing the decryption password etc...With ShareFile, you simply set up the recipient as a client and they get a welcome email to create the account for seamless transfers.

I can't think of any reason where it wouldn't be appropriate to use ShareFile other than it may be cost prohibitive for small businesses. My company found it very affordable when compared to other larger products in the industry. One of the great aspects of ShareFile is that you can add unlimited Clients as you only have to pay for per Employee use.

We use RightSignature to sign any and all contracts we use within the company. It is mainly used by the executives in the company and our contracts manager.
  • RightSignature makes it very easy to enter text fields, signature fields, and check boxes wherever you need it in the document.
  • RightSignature allows you to set a deadline for completing a document, and allows you to send reminders to people who have not yet signed something.
  • The filing of files is not great. All of them are stored in one big pile, and you need to know what you called something or who signed it in order to be able to go back and locate it. There might be a better way to organize them, but I have not yet figured it out.
RightSignature is a really great tool for e-signatures. It captures all the data fields you need, and sends the signature request to the people very quickly. We use it for all of our contracts needs, it eliminates the need for execs to print out a contract, sign, rescan it and email it.

We currently use sharefile within our department to send and share documents in a secure fashion. It is used as a department within parks and recreation, but I believe the entire organization that I work for uses this program. Sometimes it shuts down randomly or won't send files as quickly as we need them to be sent.
  • Clean looking
  • Excellent support
  • Easy to use
  • Error loading
  • Restricted viewing
  • Slow sending
It is well suited for internal sending and within the organization. That's where I use it mostly. It is harder to use with outside sources and you have to both have this program to get the best use out of it. At least that is what I was told before.

RightSignature allows our company to produce documents that can be digitally signed and distributed to small and large groups of people. We no longer have to rely on paper copies and scanned signatures. Also, it makes auditing those signed documents much easier with the use of reports.
  • Reports allow for easy auditing.
  • Search functions allow you to quickly see if someone has signed a document.
  • Being able to send documents to remote personnel allows for a quick turn around.
  • Assigning permissions to documents and groups maintains document integrity.
  • I'd like to be able to create a task for someone to sign a document that reminds them on a preset occasion until they sign.
It works well with documents you may find in an onboarding process where information needs to be inputted before a signature is applied. It may not work as well with some websites where the PDF can be embedded.

I manage a real estate team for a large independent real estate brokerage. I use Citrix sharefile predominantly to store and send our contracts/other documents to the main office and to my team members. I also use it to send sensitive documents to parties when the situation calls for it, like our CPA for example. It allows me to transmit the documents which many times have large file sizes without touching the storage capacity of my Google account.
  • Unlimited storage.
  • Easy to use for most of our tasks, the graphics are appeasing.
  • Allows us to send documents securely.
  • Allows us to send documents with large file sizes much easier.
  • Doesn't impact our email storage capacity.
  • The phone app works very well! I use it a LOT.
  • Isn't very compatible with Microsoft Edge.
  • Cost.
  • Would like to be able to better track what was sent/received in their system. Or make it easier to determine that.
Well suited for the banking and real estate industry where sensitive data needs to be shared/sent. Especially large file sizes and lots of documents. Might not be as good for a casual use business or creative arts. Probably not cost effective there at all.

I use Citrix Sharefile to exchange large documents with a client. I manage the shared folders and grant them access to specific folders based on their role.
  • Great at managing users and providing direct access to folders you want to share.
  • Files are loaded quickly and easily.
  • Easy to share individual files with people who do not have accounts.
  • It's not always clear what users see on their end. Hard to provide support as they see different screens from what you see.
  • Windows integration is a tad confusing and cumbersome.

We primarily use ShareFile for sending large file attachments via Outlook (Windows). We are also using it as a storage tool for housing files for organization prior to ingesting them into Nuxeo (DAM), allowing both clients and users access to files for organization and management. ShareFile is also used to secure distribute sales and marketing materials to our remote devices (iOS) for offsite presentation purposes.
  • Integrates with MS Outlook (Windows) fairly seamlessly
  • Web and iOS remote access
  • Desktop client that doesn't require full "synch" to desktop like other cloud storage solutions
  • Lack of Mac OS mail client integration (Mac Mail or MS Outlook)
  • Inconsistent desktop synching
  • Lack of ability to add internal company "clients", requires full user license for those even needing read-only file access
  • PDF view in iOS can't display documents in single-page format or at full screen with no visible controls. It scrolls through entire document, and has a menu bar constantly present.
  • Cost - per user, all of the cloud storage solutions are more than using a full Office 365 w/One Drive solution.
ShareFile works great as a tool to send files as links, but if there is a request for a name/email when downloading, it does no verification of these emails and it creates "clients" of each one. We end up with inane client names and non-existent emails, so I have to weed through the clients on a consistent basis.

Across the whole organization.

All working and final documents (client and internal) are warehoused there.

It addresses the need to share information and have multiple people access it.

  • Great for sending links to documents - prevents including confidential information in email attachments. For example benefits forms to suppliers.
  • Easy security role definition and folder taxonomy.
  • Regular updates to improve functionality and speed.
  • Left-side menu is half-a-step higher (removed) from the main window.
  • Persistence of headers - they scroll up as one scrolls down.
  • Ability to see thumbnails instead of mere file names and extensions. Especially with photos and graphics - you need to download all to view and select.

Great for sending links to files.

Fast uploads make it easy to work with - on an occasional basis.

Not great for finding things that you are unsure of - you need to know the exact file you want.

My company consists of a central office and several site offices at apartment buildings we own and manage. We also have leasing agents who work from a virtual office environment. We use Citrix ShareFile as a cloud-based file server for group access to forms and lease templates, floor plans and photos for each property. We also use the secured sharing capability to share leasing documents with future residents to review prior to signing their lease packets. It is a convenient and secure way for us to work cohesively from multiple office locations.
  • Citrix ShareFile works well as a central library of several forms and templates which are used at all our sites. It also functions well as a central library of multi-site floor plans and photos.
  • Citrix Sharefile's secure features give our residents and prospective residents peace of mind when sending us sensitive personal documents such as government issued photo ID and pay stubs.
  • Citrix ShareFile allows us to integrate with RightSignature to easily send documents to residents and applicants for eSignature.
  • Citrix ShareFile's mobile interface allows us to send documents "from the road" on our cell phones and tablets.

Currently, it's being used to store and organize client documents and databases. It allows clients 24/7 access to files we've built/generated for them. It's being used by multiple departments. It solves the problem of manually reaching out to clients each time an updated file has been uploaded, the platform will notify [them] on our behalf.
  • Customized notifications and alerts, negates the need to reach out directly
  • Organization/ease of access of files
  • 24/7 access inside our organization and externally for clients/vendors
  • Based on my usage of the platform I have not see any areas that need to be improved
Well suited for sharing files, client portal system, need for 24/7 on the go access. Wouldn't be appropriate for a user that doesn't have the need to share, manage and update files on an ongoing basis.

[It] allows us to quickly and securely deliver thousands of large files to hundreds of clients either through the UI or via the API or FTP integration with our data application. Internal roll-out had to be so easy that no training was required.
  • Easy UI
  • Fast response times of the application
  • Reasonable pricing and feature set
  • Customer support and adding new users requires phone calls and emails
Anything from small offices needing to share files to highly integrated applications that require a data delivery service

Our company uses sharefile mainly to send larger files that cannot be sent through an email. It is convenient for us to upload large files and be able to either save them on the sharefile site or use sharefile just to provide a link so our clients/partners can download files. Files that we send include large PDFs, AutoCAD/MicroStation drawings and zip files that contain many files.
  • Upload files with a large memory
  • User-friendly upload and download
  • Easy to send downloadable links via sharefile
  • With cloud enhancements with other software (i.e. Microsoft Office), saving files on sharefile may not be the best option.
  • Harder to retrieve deleted files that were shared through a link that has expired.
  • Integration with Microsoft Outlook not as easy.
ShareFile is well suited for sending larger files to clients or business partners. Some examples where I use sharefile are when I send large PDF plan, AutoCAD or MicroStation drawings, and zip files that can contain numerous files. Sharefile makes it easy to upload files and send downloadable links to other parties which makes it easier for them. Because of new improvements to Microsoft Office 360, we are now starting to upload files to Microsoft One Drive, so saving files to ShareFile is inconvenient for us. But ShareFile is our number one [tool] for providing downloadable links.

Sharefile is currently being used by our entire company. We use sharefile to transfer files between employees outside of our office and also to send files to clients or media partners who do not have access to our internal shared file servers. We also use sharefile to quickly update and send new presentations for employees who do not have access to a VPN.
  • Shared file links
  • Easy deletions
  • Detailed uploads
  • Buggy GUI
  • No MAC desktop app
  • Unable to delete accounts
Sharefile is well suited for transferring files when users are not inside of the current office. The transfer speed is fast even on slower connections. Have not have any issues with users not being able to download files even in a pinch. Would recommend for users that need to transfers a lot of files.
