Sending files securely. I like sending files with the link, so that the files are not emailed with passwords.
  • Sending files to clients securely
  • Need to spend some time training for more uses.
  • Some of my clients are not able to open and download files.
  • I don't know how to troubleshoot their problems.
  • In order to help my clients, I don't know what questions to ask to allow them to download files.
I use the software to send completed tax returns for client review. This process usually works very well. Sometimes when I send files clients do not know how to download the files. I do not know how to troubleshoot their issues.
  • Sending files securely.

I like ShareFile much better than Mango Practice Management. I think the navigation is much more intuitive and user-friendly.

Citrix ShareFile is has been an incredible asset to our marketing department. We needed to find a better way to work with our remote partners without having to worry about security. Citrix offers secure file sharing and it allows numerous members and contractors to collaborate on projects without having to worry about being in the same room! The customized workflows keep us organized but for us, the biggest win is the ability to collaborate on content through the Mircosoft Outlook integration.
  • Ability to collaborate on content with remote members
  • Share large files securely and quickly
  • Access to our library of branding assets from anywhere - even mobile!
  • Some hang-ups with large files only being accessible in view-mode
  • Mobile viewing can be slow as files have to download first to be viewed
  • Search features good be better as you are limited to filtering options
Citrix ShareFile is great for companies that have a lot of documents and need to collaborate with multiple departments/members with ease. The ability to seamlessly exchange files among multiple devices makes it super easy when you are on the go and still need to take care of business. Workflow features make it easy to integrate into Outlook and quickly reference shared resources.

  • Increased Collaboration
  • Seamless Integration with Email
  • Increased productivity due to workflow enchantments
Dropbox and Box are both great file-sharing services as well but offer minimal integration features for the programs. The UI for both is simpler but the workflow features of Citrix make it a win for us as it gives us the ability to automate many things we used to manually do, such as having to copy accounting on all billing relating emails or ensuring our remote copywriter is informed of the new project we launched.
We have experienced some hangups that happen when viewing mobility and even sometimes via desktop. It depends on the file size and the type of file but does not happen often and when it does it is typically creative related. We barely pull reports so have no issues there. The integration features with Outlook is extremely easy and makes references files super easy.
Citrix ShareFile allows us to store all of our important documents in a secure, easy to access location that makes for collaborating with a remote workforce a breeze. The automated workflow features help to increase productivity and the integration with Outlook makes sharing even easier! Citrix ShareFile is super easy to use and doesn't take long to teach to newcomers. A win in our book!
Yes
We replaced Dropbox with Citrix. Our remote staff was not happy with the Dropbox sync features, the management of files, and the system was simply not as secure as Citrix. We made the switch based on their input and our need to increase collaboration and clean up our file management system.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The features and usability were neck-in-neck for our most important factors in making the decision. As stated prior, our staff was unhappy with our current system and due to that not using it to their best ability. Citrix offers a cleaner interface which increases usability and the integration and workflow automation features make it easy for staff to collaborate on projects.
If we have to do it again, I don't think we would change anything. We took into account the needs and wants of our staff and selected a program that could meet or exceed them.

We are an AS9100 company that must conform to the NIST 800-171 and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Clause 252.204-7012 due to doing business with the US Government. Citrix ShareFile is being used by our organization to securely transfer engineering data from our engineers, project managers and estimators to our vendors and customers. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information), it is required for us to safeguard the information and know where it has been and where it went.
  • First and foremost, it is simple to use. Within minutes of our purchase of ShareFile, we were up and running with our first user and client.
  • Second, there are multiple ways to use and take advantage of ShareFile. There is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, a desktop app as well as Sync. All options are easily implemented and simple to navigate.
  • Third, When thinking about simplicity and making it as seamless as possible for your end users, you can also set up ShareFile as a Drive Map that allows your users to take advantage of the Windows file system without dealing with synchronization of account content.
  • There are so many advantages to this product, however, I feel that the simplicity and functionality are the main advantages. Citrix ShareFile tech support is amazing and they really (if you need help) answer all question extremely fast.
  • In my experience with Citrix ShareFile, I have not found any significant CONs to report. Many people may have Drobox and other products...I would say that these products are not an apples-to-apples comparison. There are significantly different pricing structures between products, some of them being a little on the pricey side if you are a small business.
  • I have heard of a few people having issues with browser compatibility, however, I have not. We have about 20 users that are using IE11 as well as Edge w/ Windows 10 Pro and we haven't experienced any issues at all.
  • The only function/feature I would like to see improved is the audit reporting and logs. You have to go to each folder/individual to obtain the activity log/report and to me that is cumbersome. I would like to see a centralized audit log generation tool that categorizes the users and the folders and provides details needed.
Well suited for people that need to transfer large files between people or businesses. We were using FTP & password (AES256) encrypted Zip files to transfer data, which is fine for an every now and then function but was becoming a hindrance to productivity. The communication between sender and recipient was slowing down the process of delivering and receiving the content due to providing the decryption password etc...With ShareFile, you simply set up the recipient as a client and they get a welcome email to create the account for seamless transfers.

I can't think of any reason where it wouldn't be appropriate to use ShareFile other than it may be cost prohibitive for small businesses. My company found it very affordable when compared to other larger products in the industry. One of the great aspects of ShareFile is that you can add unlimited Clients as you only have to pay for per Employee use.

  • POSITIVE IMPACT: Considering the process we were using prior to ShareFile (FTP and WinZip), our ROI was almost immediate. ShareFile took the complexity out of the process and gave us control and audits over our file collaboration functions.
  • POSITIVE IMPACT: We all know that a happy user is soo much better than an unhappy one. I have approximately 20 users at this time and they have provided nothing but POSITIVE remarks about how simple and fast it is to use.
  • POSITIVE IMPACT: Centralized management as an IT Manager is paramount. ShareFile is easy to manage and deploy to end users. I would say it's as close to effortless as it can possibly be.
Alternative #1: 7-Zip or WinZip
We were using this technology prior to ShareFile. If you are busy and need to exchange secure files with many individuals "zipping" is a cumbersome (IMHO) way to perform this task. Can be pricey and will have overhead in managing the applications from an IT perspective. This method created issues with securely distributing the decryption passwords to the recipient in a timely fashion. The ShareFile method is a far better solution to the problem as you can deploy as a web-based cloud product without ever installing any software on the end users workstation. Additionally, you can control access to the shared folders and if needed remove access if necessary. With the other products, you cannot tell what files were transferred and who transmitted and received them.
Yes
When we started looking for a product/method to replace WinZip & 7-Zip as well as FTP, we looked at several products. We are a small business and found that the products that target large businesses such as Boeing are quite pricey and not cost effective for us. We reviewed 2 products MOVE-IT and EPIC. Both products were more complex and significantly more expensive than Citrix ShareFile. The biggest issue for us with the other products was their licensing structure was significantly more expensive and complex. That is what drove us to Citrix ShareFile...they license on a per user base and allow you to have unlimited clients. In the end, we needed a streamlined approach to file transfer and collaboration and Citrix ShareFile gave that to us in a simple and affordable package.

Product ease of use, functionality, simplicity in deployment and cost were the main factors to our selection of Citrix ShareFile. There wasn't really a single factor...I guess out of the three I mentioned, I would say the products ease of use was the most important driving factor. Second would be the cost of the product. Due to the issues we had with utilizing file compression / encryption type products, it was important to me to provide an easy and comprehensive solution to our problem...Citrix ShareFile got us there fast and affordable.
I wouldn't change a thing...I am very methodical in my process of evaluating products. First, I discuss my requirements and needs to the vendors sales team. Second I request a deep dive into the product over a phone call and live demo. If I am satisfied with the outcome and comfortable with the support team, I will then be open to discus pricing.
I give it a 10 for an overall rating for several reasons.

1. Technical Support is one of the best around. I get immediate help and resolution to any issue I have faced.
2. The product is simple to use and provides businesses with amazing features to streamline the sharing of large files.
3. The product is easy to deploy and manage. As an IT Manager, it is important to have control over your data.
  • Deployment to end users and clients
  • End User friendly, easy to invite new clients to transfer files to / from
  • End user training is a breeze with the Tutorials provided on End User Dashboard.
  • Integration Apps are readily available to end users and simple to install and use
  • Audit functions are not available from the main screen of dashboard, you must dig a bit. Other than that, I can't find anything cumbersome or difficult when utilizing Citrix ShareFile.
Yes, but I don't use it

We are using RightSignature to generate conditional offers of employment (COEs) using a semi-automated system integrated with our home grown applicant tracking system. By doing so, we have greatly reduced the amount of paper wasted in printing signing and scanning documents. In addition, we have eased the procedures for both hiring managers and Human Resources personnel charged with tracking the hiring process. We are currently using this for a significant subset of our new hires, with plans to expand into other categories, eventually encompassing most, if not all, new hires.
  • Excellent API for integrating with your own system. Well documented and easy to use.
  • First-rate technical support, and great customer support overall
  • Flexible billing options to meet a variety of needs
  • An overall low cost solution compared to some of the really big names out there
  • User Interface for manually creating documents is less than intuitive
  • Many aspects of the document creation process are also non-intuitive, so that if you create a boilerplate and find a mistake, you may need to start all over again
  • Limited support for PDFs with checkboxes and essentially none for selection lists
  • Some technical shortcomings in how to handle sending or retrieving links to documents for signing, especially for embedding iframes in pages
For small to mid-scale companies and needs, RightSignature is a fine solution. It has certainly proven to be a cost effective solution to creating about 6 documents per day using their API from our internal system. Limited support for complex documents might be a hindrance if you need really fancy outputs. Effective use of RS requires a bit of a learning curve to negotiate their interface for creating and processing documents, both manually from their webpages and through the API.
  • Much improved efficiency through ease-of-use for front-line hiring managers, as well as easier tracking for HR personnel
  • Cost-effective replacement for old-fashioned paperwork
  • Potential expansion to other uses.
  • Adobe Echosign,Sertifi,DocuSign,e-SignLive
RightSignature was by far a much cheaper solution than Echosign, which would have cost 5x - 10x as much and didn't necessarily have an easy-to-use API for integration with our existing systems. Most of the other solutions I explored were unresponsive to my queries for information on pricing and technical information on how best to make use of their offerings.

Very affordable pricing, and a logical format for us: Their pricing is based on the number of documents being produced rather than individual users capable of logging into the system, which seems to be the norm among other vendors I investigated. Also, the sales and technical representatives I spoke with were fantastic right from the very start and have continued to be so.
I would only refine my search based on pricing tiers, product support and usability. We have been very happy with the service provided by RightSignature. They would certainly be my first go-to if I needed to resolve a similar issue in the future. I doubt that another vendor could outdo the service we have received so far.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
I started with some some basic development testing before releasing the new system in a limited fashion to selected locations in our organization. After a week or so with very positive feedback, and none to indicate any problems, we moved to a broader implementation encompassing a particular category of use across the whole organization. We have plans to expand our use to other categories in the near future, once those departments finalize some of their specific needs for implementation.
Change management was minimal
The roll-out of the new functionality of our system integrating with RightSignature was handled through our regular change management system. Nothing out of the ordinary was required, and the implementation at each phase was relatively seamless. End users were given a heads up and training materials on how to use the new system prior to implementation. The only glitches were people not following directions, and additional improvements have bee rolled out to handle those situations.
  • End users not following directions.
  • A technical glitch that interferes with a desired workflow for us. This is currently being looked into as a bug. We have a work-around in the meantime.
  • Did I mention end-users not following directions?
Good documentation for the API. With a little help from RS tech staff, any competent programmer should be able to integrate RightSignature with an existing system in a week or three. That help is easy to get as well.
Overall customer support has been great, with questions getting rapid, accurate, and complete responses routinely. In addition, their technical support has been second-to-none! I have gotten one-on-one help from a programmer with technical support on how to best utilize their API (which is well-documented besides) and been able to get problems resolved quickly and efficiently.
Not Available
Yes
I've reported on a couple of bugs or at least things that needed improvement. They have been resolved directly or indirectly very quickly, usually within 48 hours, and often within a week. I do have one outstanding bug report, but I am sure it is still being worked worked on diligently, and hope it gets resolved soon. We have, with RS's help, implemented a work-around in the meantime.
I have received top-notch support from the very beginning! When first trying RightSignature out, I was greatly assisted by a member of their technical support team in getting set up to use their API. I have had marvelous interactions as I have returned with new questions and implemented improvements as our system has developed. If there is any one great selling point to RightSignature, it is their support.
Some of the clunkiness in the user interface and the processing of documents could be made more seamless. However, once you get over that learning curve, it's straightforward enough. The API for integrating external systems is well documented, and the support crew is great at getting you over the rough spots. There's nothing bad about their system, just a few things I thought could be more elegant.
  • Basic use of the API using sample code they've provided.
  • Simple production of documents from a template.
  • Sending emails with links or retrieve tokens to access signing pages for documents.
  • Prefilling of checkboxes is clunky, as that's not a basic type.
  • Manual readjustment of templates during testing. Several times I found that a simple change required starting over from scratch.
  • The user interface for accessing and creating documents by hand could be more intuitive.
