Our organization primarily uses Clarizen through Professional Services. It is used to manage all the accounts of the customers.
  • Easy organization of customs.
  • Easy customization.
  • Easily accessible by all parties regardless of if they are in the field or office, being cloud-based is a huge advantage.
  • More functionality for UI customization
  • Easier navigation and ability to limit users to certain aspects
  • Slow response times
Clarizen's cloud based functionality is the strongest feature they have and something that has been very useful for our organization where half of the users work in the field or remotely. It eliminates the need to keep sending spreadsheets and everyone can log in and view all details at any given time.
  • Increased reporting ability.
  • Faster responses and constant updates for all parties involved - has significantly reduced progress meeting times as all project details and files are stored within Clarizen.
  • Immense organization structure that allows easily reporting within Excel with their Excel Plug in - allows pivot tables with data stored in the system.
We selected Clarizen for its cloud functionality and its ability to alow all users to be constantly updated with the same data rather than having one spreadsheet data base that is sent out everytime there is an update.

  • Clarizen merges a host of project, resource, and time management tools under one, integrated solution.
  • It improves visibility to our performance data. Up until now, we've had to use custom solutions or time consuming deep-dives to find out the facts.
  • It doesn't give good direction for how to do the things it does well. Some other PSA software have a method they ask you to adopt. Clarizen is almost too flexible out of the box, but it's also a strength.
This is the fourth PSA I've used and/or administered. So far, it's the one that does the most and is most flexible. It can be molded to fit a larger number of organizations than the previous offerings I've used or the half-dozen we looked at during our review process.
  • Recapturing productive time that was lost in the fog before.
  • Accurate profitability and performance figures. Now, we can capture it in near real-time, as opposed to one hour to one week delays before.

I hardly ever give a perfect score. Too much can change over time. Overall, though, I don't see us migrating away.
It's easy to access and frequently offered. Often I'm amongst only a few people on the call and get virtually individual attention. I also learn and share with the other attendees and we can see how we've each solved similar challenges.

  • Flexible, intuitive, but with the right balance of controls. This features in this product allow us to enable business processes as we grow.
  • You really need to know what you want and how your users will work in the system; the flexibility can be both a strength and a weakness.
  • Prefer not to disclose, but was an order of magnitude savings.
Smart Sheets and Task Ray
Clarizen was better suited to our immediate needs and long-term goals.
  • We use Clarizen for portfolio, program, and project management and communication.
We have seen nothing better in the market to meet our fast-paced and dynamic environment. And Clarizen support is outstanding.
We are a new company, this was our first implementation.

Yes! One of the primary reasons we selected Clarizen over other options.
Yes
They have been completely responsive and supportive, and the "on demand" flexibility for training and webinars fits perfectly with the needs of my team.

It is being used by most of the people in our organization across several departments. It solves our problem of accurately tracking the many projects we concurrently develop and allows us to better manage our project resources. It is improving our efficiency and also our project profitability. It was a good choice and we are pleased with our decision to purchase Clarizen over the other competing products.
  • Resource Management is much more straight forward and aligning project lifecycles with resource availability
  • Gives a graphical and numeric look to project status and utilizations
  • Is easy to setup and use
  • Solves time tracking and project management within the same application
  • Allowing for multiple project managers on the same project would be nice.
  • Build the user manual link within the application.
  • More interactive relationship with Salesforce.
For IT it works great, I can not make the determination if it would be equally as effective in other industries such as construction management or health. For IT and general business use, it seems to fulfill the needs of an organization quite well.
  • Better customer service through issue tracking
  • Provides a quick overview for project rollups and resources
  • Clients love the participation we can provide to them through Clarizen
It is much easier to use and provides more immediate visualization than MS-Project does. The learning curve with Clarizen is far shorter than MS-Project. It is also less costly than MS-Project.

I support it myself as the Operations Manager and also support SalesForce
  • Project Management and Tracking
  • Resource Allocation
  • Time Tracking
  • Use it for helpdesk function
  • Customer service
  • Client updates on projects
  • more client involvement
  • ther departments within our organization
It fulfills our needs, is easy to use and have not had any complaints about it. Unless they raise the price of it, I don't see why we would change from Clarizen at the end of our subscription period.

The most important was the price and functionality as compared to rival products such as MS-Project and the other cloud base project management products. After going through the demo, it was clearly the choice for our people and in turn our clients in providing quick, up to date project status.
I don't think we would do anything that different. We looked at many products that were cloud based and site based but felt cloud based was the way to go since we were also going to be getting SalesForce for our organization. We looked at all the factors and Clarizen was the clear winner.

Change management was minimal
  • None that I can think of
  • Implementation was fairly quick and no problems were encountered
I performed the implementation with our Clarizen provide trainer, who knew the product 100% and it went quickly and without a problem. It was a pleasurable process without the problems other software implementation often encounter. Kudos to the Clarizen team for making this a worry free process for their clients because it is worry free.
  • Online training
Our trainer, Alex, is exceptional and knows the product really well. I swear he must have wrote the product himself! His manner with training is very easy going, gives you homework that is applicable to what you need to learn and stages it correctly for you. It was a pleasure to be trained by him.
No
At this point, we just using the standard support since we are new users. If we determine that premium support is required to serve our needs, then we will look to address that at that time and see if it is cost justified to do so. For now we are very pleased with standard support.
Any questions we pose to Clarizen are addressed immediately and I receive an answer usually within a matter of hours as opposed to days with other software companies. Clarizen really works hard to get back to it customers quickly and it is well appreciated. When you have a question or struggling, timeliness is important.
No
All I can say is our sales representative and trainer are exceptionally good at what they do and I deeply appreciate their concern and responsiveness to my and my organizations needs. They should be the model for all other companies to follow because Clarizen really does a great job at this.
  • user setup
  • project setup
  • time entry
  • initial company setup wasn't hard but you had to pay attention
  • syncing to SalesForce required assistance from our Clarizen trainer
easy to use and it is very effective for meeting our project management requiremtns
  • Salesforce
It was very simple to integrate. The Clarizen trainer walked me through it and it was done within 10 or 15 minutes. No problems at all.
  • Maybe Quickbooks
Yes they currently support this.
havent used any of them yet
Integration with SalesForce was a piece of cake. Our trainer walked me through the process and we completed on the first attempt without any problems at all within 10 or 15 minutes. It was really very simple and stress free. Clarizen makes their intergrations to other products extremely easy to accomplish.
For anyone considering it, just do it. Our experience has been very good with the process and would not worry about attempting any other future product tie ins to Clarizen. If the process to tie in SalesForce was as easy as it was, then all other products tie ins should be even easier.
There was no problems dealing with sales at all, no pressure and they agreed to some of our requests that were not necessarily standard for them but the did it anyway. They are professional in how they treat potential clients and were a pleasure to deal with. Wish all software companies were this way.
They treated use just the same way as pre sale and did not ignore us since we purchased the product. My initial sale contact has followed up several times to make sure I was satisfied with the product and also wanted to check on how my training was progressing and if I was pleased with Clarizen.
Standard terms except for an out clause after 6 months if we weren't pleased with the product. Normally, the standard subscription term is 12 months. If we are satisfied and I know we will be after 6 months, we will sign for an extended period of time to get a better discount.
None was necessary. Everything went very well so additional tips or advice wouldn't be needed. They are very professional and respectful of you and your organizations needs.

  • Easy to track time in projects and see what is going on from a high level.
  • I'm not completely satisfied with the reporting. I have access to the Excel plug-in, but system users run ad-hoc reports directly in Clarizen. The issue is that the tables are not relational. For example, if someone wants to run a project comparing project variables to timesheets, they have to build pivot tables which is daunting for many users. Ideally, we would have a company wide reporting infrastructure that we could use in conjunction with Clarizen and we are starting to look into acquiring an appropriate data analytics / visualization tool.
  • The Clarizen system comes with some pre-set flags that are based on industry benchmarks. While these can be useful, they do not always apply, and I wish we could turn them or at least modify them to meet our own criteria. For example, red flags sometimes get generated if a budget is off track or a project is a day late. But these are often not real issues and we would like to be able to clear the red flags or set our own thresholds.
  • We were able to sail through our audits with ease and quick resolve based on having all the information in one place - in Clarizen.
It has worked well for us so far and it took a long time to get the users to adopt it and use it on a regular basis, I cant think of anything that would make us want to change.
The people at Clarizen are great to work with, always willing to help you out and have been more than generous with their time and attention to our needs.

Our department of 120 people was using a variety of software packages including a legacy DOS program called Microman, MS Project, Excel, Work, Access and some others.
AtTask, EPM Live, CorasWorks

There were many different reasons why we chose Clarizen but ease of use, functionality and price and adaptability were our top reasons.
  • Implemented in-house
Need better examples and assistance with customization of workflow rules.
  • Online training
  • Self-taught
Many video tutorials, offers of webinars are available all the time.
The GUI is somewhat intuitive, but training is definitely needed.

Have not decided to invest in additional support yet
Other than being in different time zones, the rapid response and resolution is amazing.
Ease of timecard use, Customization.
Sometimes it is slow when everyone is entering their time on Fridays or Mondays but other than that we rarely see downtime and maintenance notifications are well in advance.
Speed is very good considering the number of users that are on simultaneously.
  • An, as yet, unnamed reporting tool. We are looking at purchasing a company wide analytics / reporting tool which we would plug into multiple data sources (Cisco, Mozy, NexCom Mobility) including Clarizen.
Yes.
The salesperson is what really sold me on the product. Clarizen was not one of my top 5 choices until Gil Heiman really went the extra mile to do webinars, demos, send literature, answer questions, etc. He did a great job.
I was able to negotiate the Excel-Add In for reporting at no charge.
