We use ClickTime across our whole agency. We manage clients and projects, and everyone uses it to record their time. We pull numbers for weekly client meetings and monthly client reports, so that we can be as transparent as possible in how we are spending our time. It also helps us to manage our monthly hours and prioritize certain projects over others.
  • Easy to use - to input time simply choose the client and project, and enter your hours. It autosaves after a few seconds if you don't manually save.
  • Each time entry also has a note function, so you can leave a more detailed account of how you spent your time.
  • Adding new clients and projects is quick and easy, it's a very intuitive system.
Cons
  • I don't really have much that could be improved on - for everything that I have needed to use ClickTime for, it has been easy and intuitive.
ClickTime is perfect for agencies with multiple people working on multiple accounts. It makes is very easy for the team leader to be able to keep track of how many hours and being used, and on what projects. It's also great to be able to share this information with clients, who always appreciate the accuracy and transparency.
  • Tracking hours means we can see what projects are worth spending time on and which ones aren't; we are able to use our hours in the most effective way and deliver the best service.

We use ClickTime to record and track hours worked by each employee, as well as the paid time off earned and used. All employees use the platform to bill hours to specific projects or departments.
  • There are multiple options for entering time worked, so employees can decide whichever method is easier for them.
  • Completing and approving timesheets are pretty intuitive.
Cons
  • There isn't an option for employees to request (and for approvers to approve it) directly in Clicktime.
It is a helpful tool to use when you want a way to track how employees are spending their time, down to the specific department the work is for, the project, and/or task. There are also different categories of time off you can add, set, and use, which allows you to distinguish between paid time off, holidays, jury duty, and others.
  • I do not have insight into the numbers and impact on the business.

Solid time tracking tool well suited for nonprofit use.

We use ClickTime as our primary hours tracking and payroll tool across the whole organization. We previously had no hours tracking for salaried employees and only basic time sheets for hourly employees, relying on annual estimations when calculating allocations. As a non-profit, it is critical to be tracking our time spent on our mission vs. time spent on fundraising or administration, so ClickTime has offered a huge improvement in accuracy and accountability without a lot of additional time needed from staff.
  • Easy to use once you get the hang of it.
  • Many useful features in one place.
  • Many options available when needing to drill-down in detail or analyze time categories.
Cons
  • A bit of a learning curve - you get the hang of it but the initial interface is not super intuitive.
  • Reporting is tricky and inconsistent - I have a lot of trial and error when looking for specific information.
  • Not a lot of room for explaining categories in the interface - you have to already know what you are looking at.
Well suited for basic time tracking in a way that doesn't take a lot of staff time daily but stays useful for general reporting later. Not ideal if you need to track specific projects or inform future hours estimations. Great for non-profits that need to track hours by both general campaigns and type of allocation (mission, fundraising or administrative).
  • Better tracking and accountability with minimal daily time investment.
  • Less time spent on administrative data entering by payroll team than previous manual methods.
  • Good interface for managers to track their team's time efficiently.
ClickTime is the first product of its kind I have had to use at work. Previous methods were always based in Excel documents and involved a lot more manual and redundant work for the same end result. It would be great if there were a better tie to our project management tools for time estimation, but it does the trick.

Our organization uses ClickTime for tracking consultant's hours worked on projects. We also use it for employee expense report submission for the organization departments.
  • ClickTime expense report system and ClickTime app helps organization track and allocate project cost to each individual project.
  • Their website and ClickTime app is very user friendly and easy to setup in the initial phase.
  • Their website and ClickTime app tracks hours to each assign project very well and let's manager approve the hours that has been submitted by the employee or consultant.
Cons
  • The ClickTime app works very well and is simple to use, however, I wish to see regular updates to improve the design and the layout of the app.
  • The custom reports and templates for reporting hours or expense report should be updated regularly to include more custom reports.
  • Overall, ClickTime does a good job, just a bit of work on the website design and ClickTime App would make the experience feel better while using it.
ClickTime is well suited for tracking project hours and having a department head or supervisor approves the hours against project completion and progress. The system is very good for expense report submission.
Their system may not track real time cc transactions, you would need to enter each expense manually and sometimes that could feel overwork at times.
  • For small and midsize organization, ClickTime does a very good job.
  • Our organization has seen great improvement in tracking consultant hours and project costs and allocating these expense to each individual project.
Our organization was using Smartsheet to track project hours. We found out that our team was spending more time logging hours and didn't have the time to allocate these hours to their project. ClickTime solves that problem in our organization plus the added benefit that supervisors can approve those hours against the Job being done, now we use Smartsheet for program progress and contract deadline only.

We use ClickTime across our entire company in order to track the time spent on specific jobs by all of our employees. Being an ad agency means that will bill clients by specific jobs for the precise amount of time we spend on that job - ClickTime enables us to easily track that necessary data.

Cons
  • No areas for improvement that I can think of
I cannot think of a situation where ClickTime would not be suited. Whether you have 1 or 100 employees, 5 or 500 jobs, when time is entered into the system it can be tracked, compared, and managed. It's particularly good for any company that needs to track time for hourly billing or to look at the average times it takes to do various jobs for flat billing - both of which our company does.

  • Allows us to analyze time spent on "flat billing" jobs and make adjustments to those set rates as needed
  • Takes very little time to manage and enter time
