I effectively leverage IBM Cloud Object Storage to streamline my data management needs. Its robust features and scalability ensure seamless storage and retrieval of crucial data. The user-friendly interface simplifies the process of organizing and accessing files, while its robust security measures guarantee data integrity. IBM Cloud Object Storage has become an indispensable tool for my data storage and retrieval requirements, enhancing my workflow and data management efficiency.
  • Clarity of dashboard layout (and the ability to edit the the dashboard to fit our needs) makes it easy and intuitive to use.
  • Ease of navigation allows for quick selection of tasks to complete and/or manage.
  • Clear and reasonable billing options for usage.
  • Would like to be able to add a favorites list as a dashboard block for quick access to the most frequently managed resources (rather than searching the Resource List page).
IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited for businesses that require scalable and cost-effective data storage solutions. It excels in scenarios involving massive unstructured data, like multimedia content, backups, and archives. However, it may be less appropriate for organizations with minimal storage needs or those requiring high-performance, low-latency access to data, as it's optimized for durability and data integrity rather than real-time data retrieval.

  • Some feature in "Computer Vision Learning Studio" is difficult or may not work at all, like for testing trained dataset/model.
  • "Computer Vision Learning Studio" notebook for dataset training runs slow, also no detail/description given when notebook cell is processing.
  • "Computer Vision Learning Studio" notebook needs python/tensorflow upgrade to meet current demand. From what I experienced, the notebook has python 7.x and tensorflow 1.x, which make it difficult to compare to latest version (like Python11, TF2)
IBM Cloud Object Storage is very good for storing online files/directories. I also love that IBM has "Computer Vision" project which is very helpful in making dataset training (from dataset collecting, annotation, training & deployment) to testing.

I am using IBM Cloud Object Storage in my organization for data archiving and backup. The product has been great for addressing our business problem of managing large amounts of data in a cost-effective and secure manner. The scalability of the service has been particularly impressive, as we have been able to easily adjust our storage needs as our business has grown. The user interface is easy to navigate and the integration with other IBM Cloud services has been seamless. We have also been impressed with the level of customer support provided by IBM. One of the key features we use is the data archiving feature, which has been a huge benefit for us as we needed to store large amounts of data that we don't need to access frequently, but still need to keep it available in case of an audit or legal request. The scope of our use case has been primarily for data archiving and backup, but I can see how it could be used for other purposes such as large-scale data analytics. Overall, we are very satisfied with IBM Cloud Object Storage and would highly recommend it to other organizations.
  • Data Archiving
  • Cloud Content Distribution

The IBM Cloud Object Storage allows me to scale the services I provide into the cloud. The cloud has allowed me to secure my data by managing certain permissions to ensure that my data is managed in a need-to-know zero-trust environment, but it also allows me to conveniently share my data and services with those I want to send them to.
  • IBM's cloud dedicated hosting is particularly important for total isolation.
  • The VPN allows me to have maximum flexibility.
  • It improves the performance of my websites.
  • It is very cost effective and we pay only for what we need or more.
  • The IBM cloud object storage is very network based that it cannot achieve performance like hardware.
  • Extra space do cost more when you do become ready for that expansion.
  • Pulling big project data across cloud platforms slows performance.
IBM's cloud object storage is very well-suited to be a database for big projects in big organizations. Important documents, files, images, or anything the organization needs to move to either make space or organize. The IBM cloud object storage is also well suited for this use, for it is very secure. The organization can rest assured that its data and files are safe within the IBM Cloud object storage.

In our organization we have a very large amount of unstructured data, access to that information was very complicated, now with the IBM Cloud Object Storage access is very simple, we can access the information from any of our offices in the country, in addition to Search capabilities that allow us to access information more efficiently
  • the simplicity of access data concurrently from any location
  • Scale performance and capacity
  • all the security features
  • file access from file-based applications
  • setting the configurations
  • setting policies
IBM Cloud Object Storage is a very robust product that can be deployed on-premise and allows us to store all kinds of information for uses like data archiving and backup, web, and mobile applications. It was a bit complicated for me to enable Kubernetes pods to access IBM Cloud Object Storage buckets, but in the end, it worked very well

I construct and deploy my solutions with IBM Cloud Object Storage. It is a great privilege of mine to play a role in IBM's ecosystem as a partner and business associate of the company. My IBM business is fully digitalized, and I provide my services via the cloud because of the company's innovative usage of hybrid infrastructures. Hybrid solutions help me get more done faster and bring my business up to date. IBM's user-friendly programs and top-tier answers are two of the many reasons why the company's tech is so well-liked.
  • Highly dependable cloud migration services.
  • The needs I have for the modernisation of my business have been met at a price I can afford.
  • The establishment of a consolidated hub for the creation of designs and developments.
  • Application to first-use of the system.
  • It's not simple to move a lot of data across different systems.
  • Configuring complex Cloud features is also challenging.
I recommend this service for creating and growing a wide range of solutions, from the simplest to the most complicated ones. Even in a very competitive market for professional services, the central and distinctive techniques that gather the most reliable solutions and suppliers in one location may be enough to meet demand. In a single location, I can meet all of my technology needs and get access to superior assistance.

1. We use it to store the data in different buckets and retrieve it on demand and update it.
2. External APIs put the data and keep watching for the bucket's contents if they have populated/created/ updated and remain in that state for some steady state.
3. Certain APIs upload the data into buckets which get utilized by third-party APIs.
  • Atomicity
  • Consistency
  • Ease of handling data
  • Refresh token implementation
  • Bulk delete
  • Bulk update using regex
Well suited: Atomicity is the best place. Until the file is fully uploaded, it does not show up, which reduces the chance of reading it by accident which results in partial data being uploaded.
Less Appropriate: Does not support regex.

IBM Cloud Object Storage is used to store and manage data in the cloud. The product addresses the need for reliable and scalable storage and provides a way to access data from anywhere in the world. The scope of our use case is to manage data for a large number of users and to make it available to them on demand.
  • IBM Cloud Object Storage is designed to provide high durability and availability for data stored in the cloud. It does this by replicating data across multiple Availability Zones within a region, and by storing data in multiple geographic regions.
  • IBM Cloud Object Storage also provides a number of features that make it well-suited for storing large amounts of data. For example, it offers infinite scalability, meaning that you can store as much data as you need without having to worry about capacity limits. It also offers a variety of data protection features, such as encryption at rest and in transit, and the ability to create snapshots of data for easy recovery in the event of data loss.
  • A few areas where IBM Cloud Object Storage could improve include:
  • Making it easier to manage data and permissions. It can be difficult to keep track of who has access to what data, and what they can do with it.
  • Adding more features for analyzing and visualizing data. It would be helpful to be able to see more information about how data is being used and to have better tools for exploring it.
  • Improving performance. Sometimes the system can be slow, particularly when dealing with large amounts of data.
  • Making it easier to integrate with other systems. It can be challenging to connect IBM Cloud Object Storage to other tools and platforms.
Some specific scenarios where IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited include: -Storing large amounts of data that need to be accessed frequently -Storing data that needs to be accessed by multiple applications or users simultaneously -Storing data that is static or infrequently accessed Some scenarios where it is less appropriate include: -Storing data that needs to be accessed in real-time -Storing data that is frequently updated or deleted

[IBM Cloud Object Storage] is utilized in our IT department, most specifically. I have found it [to be] a convenient and advanced tool for data storage as well as for the management of the data lifecycle. It is a solution that is great for data recovery, storage, cost-effectiveness, and time saver. A scalable tool that has the propensity to store massive files of petabyte data.
  • IBM [Cloud Object Storage] is great for the data [storage]. Even [with] bulky files and we can [still] get access to those data files without facing any complex or perplexing situations.
  • It is a scalable tool, and has made it easy for us to scale our data as the volume of our files increases.
  • It is a highly protective and secure platform, and our company’s secrecy is maintained with it.
  • It provides details of the usage.
  • I am not content with its collaboration feature.
  • Sharing data is not easy, and should be improved.
  • The condition to get access to IBM cloud storage by only utilizing an IBM Cloud account is a bit unsatisfying for us.
It is not good for individual users, but [for] organization[s], it is just perfect for data [storage]. For company data, one needs for a secure, reliable tool that would protect important files. It is cost-effective, so a company can easily afford it. As far as IBM is concerned, [they have] always been a name of trust for us.

For multinational companies, we use IBM Cloud [Object] Storage for regional and cross-region cloud storage. And that with a lot of data. We ended up "trying" IBM for having servers in specific countries and we wanted to lower the transfer times of data. This with the options to make private clouds and public clouds, to make specific files accessible, on [specific] locations based on geodata.
  • Security - We did many tests with many cloud solutions and IBM performed in the top options
  • They have a cold vault service that is perfect for backups
  • Easy to scale
  • Easy to setup with multiple devices
  • The speed, this was a important part, but we still have many desyncs.
  • Setup with specific rules and data migrations can be a hassle.
  • The UI can be daunting, it needs another look from UX perspective.
As told in the intro, it works well if you want a [globally] accessible cloud storage solution. They have servers in many locations making it great for big teamwork projects without thinking [too] much about the size because you can scale endlessly. And if you are looking for great security of data (and that is a big thing these days) then IBM has 1 of the best. Yet for us, they still are behind with the speed, and the UI is also [a] little bit outdated...Making it hard for some people to work with...In its price range we ended up with other solutions.

With the proliferation of cloud computing, object storage is being widely adopted for the management of unstructured data, and analysts estimate that this will represent the majority of all data globally in the near future. As a researcher in machine learning, I have huge data sets I use, for example, the TUH EEG Corpus, the world’s largest publicly available database of clinical EEG data, comprising more than 25,000 EEG records and over 14,000 patients. I use this dataset in my study.
  • Affordability.
  • Cloud compatibility.
  • Storing and/or managing unstructured data.
  • I cannot think of any area IBM cloud storage needs to improve. It is a complete service - where users can store and/or manage unstructured data, build, deploy, and AI models. Complete with videos to learn about Watson Studio.
Well suited for storing and/or managing unstructured data. Object-based data storage provides the most significant advantage of unlimited scale. IBM Cloud Object Storage comes in handy here.

I am creating my own pipeline for some bioinformatics analysis and IBM Watson studio comes in handy when I need high computing resources to train my machine learning models. There are other features of Watson studio which I am yet to explore. However, so far, I have really enjoyed using it in training my machine learning models.
  • High processing power
  • Support for AI/ Machine Learning
  • Reasonable pricing
  • Navigating the platform is cumbersome and a simplification would definitely improve user experience.
  • More tutorials on its usage in the field of bioinformatics with cancer and general OMICS data analysis.
  • Pricing should be reduced to make it affordable for many.
When you need high computing resources for a machine learning task, it is a great platform. However, for simple task, it will be most appropriate to run them on your local machine. All in all, it is a great platform that supports several needs.

I find IBM Cloud [Object] Storage as a very cost-effective solution. I would greatly recommend it to someone who is about to start their cloud journey because of its flexibility in learning and easy-to-use interface. It is highly scalable as compared to traditional storage which is there on the market and it also can store up to a large petabyte & exabytes of data. Our organization uses the IBM Watson Assistance chatbot to help our customers better guide through our website. It greatly helps by solving our real-time customer's issues with ease. A few issues we faced while running the services were adding multiple concurrent connection operations. Apart from that, it's very reliable and a great service which IBM provides.
  • Cloud storage allows you to save data and files in an off-site location that you access either through the public internet or a dedicated private network connection.
  • Cloud storage delivers a cost-effective, scalable alternative to storing files on on-premise hard drives or storage networks.
  • Cloud storage services provide elasticity, which means you can scale capacity as your data volumes increase or dial down capacity if necessary.
  • Business continuity of Storing data offsite supports business continuity in the event that a natural disaster or terrorist attack cuts access to your premises.
  • Security concerns are common with cloud-based services.
  • Offloading maintenance and management to a third party offers advantages but also can limit your control over your data.
  • Delays in data transmission to and from the cloud can occur as a result of traffic congestion, especially when you use shared public internet connections.
  • Regulatory compliance

This service is being used exclusively within the Computing department at the university. It is being used as an alternative to students accessing machines in person as we have students that work remotely. This significantly reduces our outgoings on high end technology as we don't need to have 300+ machines with high end specifications.
  • Runs without delay
  • Processes large amounts of data quickly
  • Accessible for users of different technical levels
  • The UI and layout of applied storage should be simplified.
  • Commercial rates should be easier to quote.
[A specific scenario where IBM Cloud Object Storage is well suited would be] as a replacement for any in-person processing that needs to be done. This could be anything from training a neural network down to setting up a backend for a CRUD system. It is less useful for quick projects that are more driven by time rather than long term investment into developing a secure bespoke system.
