Comcast Business VOIP (VoiceEdge)

It is used by our organization to communicate with our offshore client. We are using it mainly for communicating with remote office people. Previously few teams have started using it but after some time many teams in our company are using it. Overall we had good experience with it.
  • It is very good, full-featured business phone for long distance offshore call. We had been using this phone for long for our day to day communication and it was working perfectly without any noise.
  • This voip provides few cool and nice features like unlimited international long distance call, Voicemail to email,
  • Directory listening etc, call recording is also good.
Cons
  • Actually, this product has most all of the features which one voip device should have. There is nothing I dislike but the portable phone battery is an issue. If we continuously use this phone for long meetings then sometimes battery the dies. So that is the only problem I have seen.
It is well suited for long distance offshore calls, meetings, group meetings, Team meetings etc. In the places where you are not having power backup at that location, it is very less appropriate.

  • We are using this phone in day to day business communications and in meetings between remotely located teams. Nothing negative for me.
  • Polycom
Actually, our organization has selected this phone for the organization. Previously we were using Polycom phone. We had good experience with both devices. At some points, both the devices are having pros and cons but I think Concast wins at many points.

Great way to phone and communicate. Great for medium business and more.

At our organization we have eight to seventy users, that lacked best practice communication tools. We also needed a solution for our community to reach out to us and communicate with the correct point of contact. During our usage of Comcast Business VOIP, we were able to develop a useful phone tree system for office-based staff.
  • Voice calling.
  • Smart device apps.
  • automatic attendant.
  • Phone tree system.
Cons
  • Remote usage.
  • Siloed users that shouldn't be part of phone tree.
It is well suited for a large business environment that wants state of the are technology, that works seamlessly. Users that vary in job duties can integrate into the system well, as long as they are available and using the system. However, it is not wet suited for small organizations. Features and number of users adds up the price quickly.
  • Calling.
  • Call management.
  • Auto attendant.

  • Community outreach increased.
  • Accessibility for employees increased.
  • Confusing for some users.
Comcast Business VOIP has a robust number of features and a well-focused UI. If you are already a prolific Comcast user the system works well and integrates well. Many of the other systems we tried - Vonage, Google Voice, etc. - were not as robust and difficult to set up in our environment.
Very helpful and quick!
We did not.
No
We had issues with setup, local versus app-based. Customer care was informative, responsive and willing to train around issues.

Solid Service With Low Barrier To Entry

Rating: 8 out of 10
March 20, 2018
Comcast VOIP came packaged with our business internet service and has since become our primary source of incoming and outgoing phone calls throughout the whole company. It was pretty easy to setup, is simple to use and as long as there is internet service, it works as we expect it to.
  • Makes it easy to send and receive phone calls, setup extensions, and generally handle incoming and outgoing phone calls.
  • You're able to receive business calls wherever you go, whether you're in your office or on your mobile device.
  • The Voicemail to Text feature generally works well enough for you to know what a message is about without having to listen to it.
Cons
  • It's low barrier to entry makes advanced features a little more difficult to use. For instance, you can use any telephone with this service, but using a regular telephone makes it more difficult to remember how to transfer a call, whereas dedicated equipment has the functionality built into them.
It's a solid service for small business in particular. It is wrapped in with our internet service where it is actually cheaper for us to have both than just one. The entry cost is low and the on-the-go features are useful if you need to receive calls when you're not in the office. Their mobile app allows you to administer the service from wherever you are, so if you have an emergency, it's easy to reroute calls from wherever you may be.

  • This is difficult to really quantify. Any business needs an operating phone system as part of their infrastructure and this one has been a really solid, low-cost option for us.
  • Ooma Office
It is competitive with other services like Ooma Office and offers more robust call screening features than Ooma. We have an Ooma Office line that consistently frustrates us because it lacks key features we would really find useful and seemingly stops working for reasons we have a hard time discovering.
