We use Commvault as a general backup solution for all on-premise backend systems and for part of our cloud environment. Our backup environment covers our setup globally, but with the largest part being located at our HQ in Denmark. The backup is managed by a team of 4, located in Denmark, China and the Philippines.

We are an MSP and use Commvault as our backup services solution. Also, our internal IT department is a tenant on this platform. Commvault helps us and our customers face the data protection challenges of legacy applications and SaaS offerings. With Commvault, we are able to backup all of it with a single tool and pane of glass.

Commvault is being used both for internal backups and as a backup solution for our on-premises customers as well. As of now, it is the only backup solution we use for on-premises customers/systems (we use Azure Backup for systems in Azure). Commvault addresses the business problem of having a scalable, dependable, and easy to use backup solution that supports multiple backup methods.

The breadth of coverage of the platform has met all our needs in one simple tool. The deployment was simple, and it is a quick thing to do with a lot of feedback and dedication from the support team to resolve any issues we raised. We now have a single platform to meet all our backup needs without a compromised backup process to back up with a suitable tool like the previous vendors. Being able to offer the same backup service to both local and cloud-based services has also allowed us to distribute multiple cloud loads in the cloud, knowing that existing processes and accessibility services can protect these loads anywhere.

CommVault is in use throughout the organization. The primary reason for the purchase at the time was for NDMP direct to tape backup of a NetApp storage appliance. However since the initial implementation in 2008, we now use it to solve several problems. It is used for email journaling compliance, archive replication to a DR site, server, email and SQL backup.

Disaster recovery, as it greatly minimizes the effect on business being able to get data back quickly. The functionality is dynamic, complex, and provides us the freedom to choose infrastructure and what not, as it works with just about every major vendor. We're also a reseller, and I've seen CommVault implemented in dozens of customer datacenters.

We are currently using CommVault by our IT department to backup our critical systems. We are storing backups to a storage device and retaining monthly and yearly backups for 7 years. This will address our DR needs to be able to quickly restore any of our critical servers back to any point that we have retained backups to.

We have been using CommVault 2+ years now, and let me tell you that now we have control of our backups on almost all of our IT infrastructure across the whole organization. Basically we began to make the backup of the most critical systems (virtual and physical). After a year of use, we made an expansion and now we almost have all the systems. Some big Oracle databases are also being backup. It is a feature-rich product where we can establish different retentions policies, schedule backups based on the time and date of the lowest impact.

We have been using CommVault for the last five years in my organization. CommVault is deployed on all data protection tasks from user endpoints to all server computing. Having one solution for all data protection with Commvault helped us in making IT life simpler by creating one console for infrastructure, monitoring, management, and compliance.

I, being a solution architect in TCS, need to suggest and provide solutions to my customers for their backup requirement. With the growing requirement of a hybrid cloud solution, backup using CommServe and other components of CommVault plays a major role. It is also being used for the on-prem solution as compared to the competitors we leverage the existing alliance partnership with CommVault to get better discounts and a great solution to our customers.

CommVault has been instrumental in obtaining a working and streamlined approach to backing up all of our department's data securely and consistently. With many painstaking hours and headaches every day with a previous backup solution, we needed something that would free up man hours wasted with troubleshooting backups but also gain confidence back with superiors with backup restoration. CommVault came in solving not only those issues but many other issues which have not only given us confidence back in our backup solution but has also freed up many hours of time with the CommVault backup engineer.

CommVault was used by the company as our global data management platform. In simpler terms it was used as our backup solution. The IT Department was responsible for backing up all datasets and workloads for the entire organization. Due to our regulatory requirements, long term retention was required (7+ years). We were backing up approximately 50TB of data per week and retaining it for 7+ years.

CommVault allowed us to provide access to datasets for recent recoveries or for things like legal subpoenas. We used CommVault to power our disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Used across the board, for all departments, for backup, recovery, and offsite DR. While the usual backup/recovery from disk is used, also, tape offsite is key to getting the protection we need. Daily reports and stats are regularly assessed on both the backup and recovery side of the house. It's managed by one Admin and one backup.

Commvault is being used in two areas. We have an entire Commvault environment installed in the cloud, backing up any application requesting backup in the cloud. We also have an on premise Commvault environment backing up new business/applications. Our go forward strategy in data protection is Commvault that will eventually and essentially replace our current data protection environment.

Overall, Commvault is easier to manage for our support team. It works very well. Commvault support is great and gets issues resolved very quickly.

We migrated to Commvault in our data center back in 2005 and which point we had less than 150 systems protected. Over the years as the company grew we also expanded the use to our remote offices (over 220) and eventually we were backing up over 2400 systems between our data center and remote locations. Commvault provides all the basic data protection for our systems. We protect Windows systems and VMs as well as AIX.

Commvault is our only enterprise data protection solution now in my organization. We use commvault to protect our physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure. [It's also used] for all our production and non-production data.
It is very easy to manage and a very robust solution for various [types of] data protection and it helped us to reduce our OPEX costs.

Commvault is used to back up our entire physical and virtual server environment. We use the software to back up a plethora of software suites, such as SAP, AIX, MSSQL, SharePoint, and MS Server 2008-2012. We use many of the features inside of Commvault for business reporting of backups and performance metrics. We are also replicating this data to a disaster recovery site.
