I do wish reports were a bit less clunky/easier to create and share, or were more insightful. That would help our team the most.

Reviews
(201-225 of 259)Best SEO platform.
- Easy comparison between your and your competitors' keywords.
- Generating reports is fast and simple.
- Analytics enable you to track how you're ranking overtime.
- Mobile app is a plus.
- Customer service is top class.
- Naming convention is a unintuitive.
Conductor is awesome!
- Does a good job at providing recommendations that we can use as a starting point for website optimizations.
- Integrates with our analytics and GSC to provide our team insights in one place. Analytics access here is stingy so its useful for us to at least get an idea of traffic coming to the site, etc.
- The user experience of this tool is much better than our old one, and the live support is incredible.
- Would like Domain Explorer to be able to be utilized on a page level basis. Diving down into detail is very important and getting domain wide data doesn't help as much as page level would.
- I don't find the link center particularly helpful so expanding or improving this tool to be more helpful in generating insights would be great.
- Its tough to tie organic search success to dollars generated. Developing a tool to better help tell that story or tie it into business cases would be great.
Best SEO tracking and content tool
- Keywords Ranking
- Competitive Analysis
- Content Optimization
- Inbound links analysis
- Deeper integration with Deepcrawl
- AMP pages tracking
Conductor - Excellent Platform for SEO and Content Optimization
- Finding recommendations to improve search rankings is easy
- Exporting reports
- Competitive analysis
- Limitations on how many metrics you can add per workspace. Should be unlimited.
- Date ranges for comparison reports is always one week. We'd like to be able to customize date ranges for reports.
Conductor Review
- Competitive analysis and market share reporting
- Provides actionable suggestions for improvement
- Provides a wealth of data pertaining to keyword rank as well as performance trends
- Easy-to-use interface with how-to suggestions baked in
- It isn't cheap
- It doesn't cover technical SEO but it does have a nice integration with DeepCrawl
Conductor - 5 Stars
- Keyword Tracking
- Page Rankings
- Content ideas
- Link tracking
- Keyword discovery
- Page ranking for keywords not tracked
An extremely useful SEO suite with an amazing customer service
- Keyword rank trends - useful to keep track of the rank history of a keyword
- Audience intent explorer - particularly useful to find long tail keywords
- Categories and segments - extremely useful to group pages and keywords into clusters
- Technical SEO - recommendations are still too general and only about on-page factors
- Backlinks - would love a comprehensive backlink audit tool
The best way to democratize SEO in your marketing Services.
- Tells you really fast what words you should be focused on.
- The user interface is really easy to handle, even when you don't work in IT.
- Results can be exported fast and you can share with colleagues in a couple of clicks.
- Search console integration could be really useful in Conductor.
- The way featured snippets are displayed using answer boxes.
- Profiles by users (limit the access to certain types of reports in our different teams).
Best SEO tool I've used, and I've used quite a few
- I like that I can do easy competitor research on more than one competitor. Extra handy is that I can tag competitors as SEO or business, so it's easier to see.
- Their chat help is solid. I've needed to use it a few times and their responses are thorough. They also send along extra info at the end concerning your problem for extra context and email you the correspondence in case you need it for later.
- My favourite thing is the insight stream. It takes all the important things you want to know about how you're performing and packs it into one view. I also like that I can pin them or message someone on my team about what is appearing.
- I still feel a bit confused about how to build a report based on specific keywords, like for a campaign. I know we went through it in training, but when I did it myself it was more difficult than I remembered. Maybe it would be good to ask teams to think of a campaign or report they'd like to build before that training and actually build it in the training.
- The names are confusing. I know it's probably hard to fix them, but I can never remember which thing does what.
- We'd like better reporting about knowledge boxes. I know we can see basics, but giving tips for how to optimise, and combining reports for a more comprehensive view would be good. I believe we already gave this feedback to an account manager. (This is more my manager's feedback than mine so I don't know all the ins and outs)
Conductor Review
- It's very easy for me to make sense of the data that's presented, and filter it the way I want to.
- I like the weekly reporting that's automatically emailed to me.
- I wish that I could remove recommendations that aren't relevant to me or that I don't want to do. The recommendations tend to get cluttered and hard to sort through because of that.
SEO Agency Services Utilization & Review of Conductor
- Reporting is the biggest area where Conductor really stands out. One of the reasons I chose this tool over others is that reporting comes with templates designed for people at various business roles. From an SEO agency perspective, I get a more productive relationship with my clients if more areas of their business understand how SEO aligns with their goals. Conductor also pulls data from sources that are troublesome for our Business Intelligence department, which creates channel integrated reports for our clients.
- Data and insights are very important for providing SEO services. I have a huge variety of SEO tools and browser plugins at hand. But Conductor is valuable in that it provides connections between keywords, typical SEO KPIs and content performance. Other SEO enterprise tools like Searchmetrics and BrightEdge (and maybe Moz if you want to include it here) also provide meaningful insights and recommendations. But Conductor is easily competitive and holds its own here. I'm really excited about enabling Google Search Console integration, since up until now we have been pulling this data into spreadsheets with a free API that is only supported by a single unpaid person.
- Conductor's content mapping is a really cool way to conceptualize content marketing. I love how it gives a visual representation of the customer journey and enables you to apply KPIs to each - giving you a clear idea of the business value of content and how well it performs across each stage of the journey and segment of customers.
- Customer support is done really well by Conductor. This is a big area of difference I noticed right away during the evaluation stage between Conductor and my previous enterprise SEO tool. The Conductor team has jumped in and created reports for me numerous times. They don't hound me when it is time to renew the contract. Chat help is really helpful in solving problems.
- Creating content maps and assigning pages to each segment is difficult. I would like to see more options in ways to associate a page with a segment. For example, allow a custom field to search for something in the code. This way, we could create a custom tag or even pull a visual element off the page that determines which segment the page belongs.
- When looking at rankings, I'd like to be able to quickly see historic trends for a keyword. Currently, it's a little cumbersome to get this -- takes multiple clicks and waiting for the page to load each time.
- I don't get much out of Conductor's backlink reporting. When I need this, I go straight to Majestic. Whether its to dig into backlinks or basic overview reporting, I go straight to Majestic and export data.
How Conductor Works For A Small Content Team With No Dedicated-SEO
- Keyword research and competitive intel.
- Making suggestions on how to improve SEO (the insight stream is incredible! Every tool should have this!)
- Their customer success team and helpful content is AWESOME.
- The UX and naming of features is a bit confusing/tough to learn at first--especially if you're a content person and not in the product every day. They are working on an interface for content people vs. SEOs, which could be helpful (Note: I haven't checked it out yet).
- Set up of all their best tools features can be a bit tough/time consuming at first. They do have great workflows, but it can be a bit overwhelming and hard to get done.
- Some of the insights (while they're really helpful as a feature!) aren't always the best for us. You have to double-check some of the page level recommendations. We're B2B, and the suggestions actually put us in competition with B2C pages, which we're not interested in currently.
Try Conductor
- Great for tracking predefined list of keywords and their historical trend.
- Also, it's good for finding adjacent keywords for major product keywords through Audience Intent Explorer.
- Keyword grouping in another great feature, which allows to see how positions for groups of keywords are changing over time.
- Great UI and very intuitive navigation.
- One of the biggest pain points is lack of good backlink explorer to check backlinks of competitors.
- Search volumes for long tail keywords are not always correct (i.e. do not match numbers in Google Keyword Tool).
- The price is to high, there are lot's of tools that would provide similar value for 1/15th of the price.
Usable & Insightful SEO Platform
- Support: Conductor provides timely and on-point support for business challenges, newest changes that impact SEO, and approaches to shaping up your SEO strategy to increase KPIs.
- Usability: We found that the usability of the Conductor platform provided immediate actionable information helping to jump start use of the platform, but also quickly get to the bottom of data that guides action at all levels/roles.
- Exposing how clients are using the platform to further their initiatives could be great - almost a VOC use case of webinars to show successes and help others learn.
Everything you need for your SEO strategy
- Building good looking, modular reports
- Identifying opportunities for optimization for published content
- Measuring visibility for content
- Identifying competitors in the search engine marketing world
- Sometimes modules don't line up correctly when building dashboards
- Not having all features in the platform available at the enterprise level
- Mobile app analytics would be a nice add on
Conductor shed light on our search ecosystem.
- Allows us to identify threats to our SEO rankings. We can find duplicate tags or missing tags across our site and even assign tasks right in the tool.
- Conductor has become our central database for our keywords for both SEO and PPC.
- Provides important data and reports to anyone within the company that needs to know.
- Integration has been a bit daunting.
- Some of the keywords they provided during setup were nonsensical, but in the end, it's easier to remove keywords than digging them up in the first place.
- Conductor is a very large and complex tool. There are times I wish it was simpler.
Great for Advanced SEO professionals & Agencies
- Reporting & Analytics
- Prioritization of activities
- Business case planning
- Cost for lower level campaigns/clients
Analyze keywords and find nuggets with Conductor
- Provide insights for content creation and optimization - this is very helpful as it shows "real" time keyword movement and allows us to optimize for keywords that we might not have thought of.
- Reporting - the reporting dashboard is fairly easy to navigate and includes various metrics geared towards content optimization and trends.
- Make the platform more intuitive to navigate.
- Improve tutorial videos.
A reference for measuring organic performance
- Pivot data in many ways
- Great user interface
- Report customizations
- SEMRush integration based on lower-tier plans
- Link building features too superficial
- Hard to keep track of market share over time
Stop Searching, Choose Conductor
- Conductor provides excellent product support with regular ongoing meetings to help maximize the benefits from Conductor.
- Conductor provides both standard rankings as well as their "true rank," which is basically where you really are on the SERP, not just where you are on the 10 blue links, but where you are with the maps feature or news or other kinds of universal features.
- I love their competitive market share report, where you can get a clear picture of who owns the marketplace for key terms.
- Just a couple of minor functionality issues, like having tables that remember your number of rows visible and ranking type.
Pleased With Early Impact
- Tracks "TrueRank" for Google Searches on keywords.
- Shows progress over time. Strong visualizations of performance of what's improving and what's slipping.
- Provides actionable intelligence of areas that can be addressed.
- Helps prioritize tasks based on impact and estimated level of effort.
- Shows competitor rank and allows you to understand how others competing with you for traffic are positioning their content.
- The amount of data that is available to you can be a bit overwhelming to users.
- A quarterly "health check" would be a great value add.
- Some basic tools to optimize content when it's being created would be great. Such as guidance on length of headlines/titles, meta descriptions, meta keywords. It tells you a week later when something is "too long" or "too short", but on the front end, before it's saved and published. Also more specific suggestions would be great.
- The weekly nature of updates is a bit limiting.
- Sorting through recommendations and action items, some of the sort options reset themselves too much. I haven't been able to figure out how to make certain criteria selections save/persist.
Shining the Light on Conductor
- Keyword tracking is Conductor's bread and butter. Additionally, searches can now be segmented by geo-markets, giving you greater insight into your actual ranking - particularly for those longer-tail, hyper-local keywords.
- The reporting functionality is excellent. Once you take the time to build a template that meets your monthly (or whatever time-period) reporting needs, it's easy to pull a great looking, client-friendly report.
- Conductor recently made a lot of new updates that provides insight into SERPs - specifically what type of media is appearing for any given query. This is key to a content marketing strategy, for pinning down the real value of keywords, and for identifying areas of opportunity.
- Sometimes the search functionality of Conductor isn't as user-friendly. BrightEdge (a Conductor competitor), for example, has a much more user-friendly interface.
- There is no way to copy reporting templates across accounts/clients. This seems dumb.
Conductor - Saves time for a small team
- Reporting on status over time of particular keywords. This is their core competency so it is no surprise that they do it well. It is incredibly simple to build out groups of keywords, conduct optimization experiments and track the success or failure of your efforts over a longer range of time.
- Providing insight into the competitive landscape. At any moment, I can see how my competitors are for a particular keyword and how we stack up as well as pulling in information about their page meta information alongside my own.
- Tying search engine ranking to more typical measurements such as revenue, event tracking on a website etc. With the analytics integration you can get very granular in how you want to measure the success of your search engine optimization projects beyond just where you appear in a single generic Google search.
- Mobile reporting - You can (with associated fees) see exactly where you (and your competition) rank for specific keywords from mobile devices from specific locations. Very valuable to know how your efforts are impacting not only local to our business searches, but also those in places that are further away. As an international distributor, but with only a single storefront, this is particularly powerful.
- Keeping notes and information on the tests and techniques that you've employed can be a bit cumbersome. They have been working on streamlining this. There ARE ways to keep all of your notes and info right in the platform, it just isn't always within a single click from where you are in the platform.
- Automation of tasks isn't really a priority. I wish there were some ways to automate outbound link requests from within the platform. There are tools to pull this data up and make it visible and if it was then tied in with WhoIs data to pull a technical email contact, that would be super awesome and timesaving.
- Some of the content segmentation tools aren't very intuitive. They take some getting used to. However, the good news is that the help documentation is available a single click from anywhere in the platform and there are lots of training resources. it just takes a bit of time to get up to speed.
C1 Loves Conductor
- Conductor is great at identifying opportunities in search. I've found more opportunities for new and for optimizing existing content than with any other tools I've used.
- Conductor is great on reporting with their workspaces. My challenge is in coming up with my own individual workflow to organize those reports, as I've created many. Their staff is great with helping to identify workflows and work through each task.
- Conductor's team is awesome! We have our regular support calls where they always have an agenda and are wanting to teach me something new about the platform or provide new value to our organization.
- The recommendations section of Conductor is a weakness. The recommendations themselves are great, but I can't use the section well because I can't easily sort and organize recommendations or mark off which recommendations I've implemented. I'd ideally like a way to mark each recommendation as a task, give those tasks organization or subtasks, and then bulk mark tasks as completed. Right now to create a task and mark it as complete is so manual that I can't use Conductor to keep track of my SEO tasks.
Conductor Has Changed How We Execute SEO for the Better
- You are able to easily slice and dice data and the interface is relatively intuitive without training in comparison, to its main competitor.
- Conductor also provides fantastic consumer support on an on-going basis.
- Conductor also provides comparisons of your data against search competitors, which we have found valuable.
- The tool's insights are only as good as your data and I feel it is a little clunky to import and export data to clean up keywords and preferred URL's. Instead of a spreadsheet upload, I wish you could just modify the data directly in the web-based version.
- I also believe that with the trend of consumers using mobile as their first screen, the Conductor data needs to be more focused on mobile insights.
