We use Quosal as our primary quoting and request for proposal (RFP) tool. We have a deep integration with Salesforce so our uses have a single view into quoting, metrics, and pipeline. This also allows for our engineers and project managers a simple way to view project details, BOM's and overall management. Quosal replaced QuoteWerks due to their lack of a web solution and ability to integrate with other products in our stack. This has been a huge benefit to sales, engineering, project managers and executive management. The new BI reporting is going to fill a critical gap in our review process. Additional key requirements in our selection process was to find a solution that would continue to evolve, improve, and provide flexibility in the event our environment changed. Since we have joined Quosal we have seen nothing but excellent support, product enhancements and a great supporting community. I could not be happier with our selection.
  • We needed a web based solution that allowed for integration with vendors. This has provided an easy option for our users to quickly and accurately select products and create professional looking quotes.
  • Quosal was the only web based product that allowed for ingesting quotes from our suppliers. This is a key factor in our process and Quosal does this seemlessly.
  • Flexibility is key to our reps. Every rep has a different type of quoting template. Quosal allows our team members to quickly shift between these and create multiple versions with minimal efforts.
  • We would like to see greater integration and features with Salesforce and QuickBooks. These are two of the leading products in the market and I believe there is room for improvement with these products.
  • One of the benefits of technology platforms today are the communities and third party applications created within these communities. I would like to see Quosal start pushing their boundaries either vertically or horizontally in these markets quicker than they have. I like all of their advancements in training, but additional product offerings and solutions is critical to companies today. People expect more of a solution than a product today and this is the path.
I have not found any environment where this is not appropriate. As a solution provider, we are moving into the managed services business so we have an incredible platform to begin quoting these solutions. We also have strong sales opinions of quoting philosophies and Quosal provides an incredibly easy to use platform that all of our reps utilize.

  • The most important metric is our adoption of the solution. We struggled at first, but our reps love it now.

As I mentioned in my previous responses, this was the only solution that met our requirements across all categories. Many solutions are strong in certain areas, but Quosal provided the most balanced feature set. They also provided an incredible support staff for both the implementation and ongoing support. They honestly made us feel as the most important customer they had.

As a hardware centric Value Added Reseller involved in the Hardware, Software and Services game. We needed an intelligent, Integrated quoting tool that was both sales friendly and rich in features. Quosal allows our sales team to create beautiful quotes and proposals that have the flair and style our marketing team wants, with the back end data that our management and procurement teams needs while still being easy to use.
  • Custom made templates for Quotes, Proposals and profit sheets make document delivery easy.
  • Live data feeds from our vendors simplify the shopping experience for our sales staff and historical pricing alerts make the pricing experience for our customers smooth and intelligent.
  • The ability to mass import data directly from vendor spreadsheets helps to make complex quotes simple and quick.
  • We have found that removing the eye candy helps performance on older, less capable workstations.
  • We are currently looking to move our Quosal database to Micorsoft Azure cloud database to make our infrastructure more secure.
  • Adoption to any tool is tough, it's important to stay on the sales team to insure they understand the real business value of a unified quoting tool.
Quosal will really hit it's stride when management makes it a requirement from the sales staff and the sales staff sees the true business value of having all quotes and proposals come from a unified tool. With just a little bit of training, a champion can propagate the adoption rates up and unify the delivery and presentation of the companies offering in a mater of months. Quosal (through the IT Nation and it's usergroups) can provide training materials and best practice information needed to accomplish this goal. I highly recommend getting involved in the usergroups and attending when possible.
  • Quosal allows for a single presentation of our standard Terms and Conditions in a way that gives our accounting department confidence that the information is being delivered correctly and in a timely fashion. Having a unified document makes editing and distribution of Ts and Cs changes easy and efficient.
  • Our marketing department feels like they have a vested interest in the proposal look and feel now. Those proposals have become an extension of our marketing materials and collateral.
  • Our sales team can more efficiently and more effectively create proposals that win with less time spent creating multiple versions of the same document to satisfy our proposal, marketing and procurement needs.
Quosal is backed by the insight and financial investment of ConnectWise, (an industry leader in PSA software) with heavy hooks into the ConnectWise API set. These API hooks make the task of creating proposals simple and easy with just a few clicks to populate things like customer, name, address, sub-sites, etc. Because of ConnectWise's market reach, Quosal now has access to a much broader set of data for shaping and developing their product.
We are in our 4th year with Quosal and fully expect to renew again and again. With their development of additional features such as the Order Porter, Visual Quoting and others, we see the adoption rates continuing to rise while making our time to quoted shorter and shorter. Quosal and ConnecWise's vision of automated quoting is an exciting frontier that we are very happy to be a part of.

Quosal provides quotes and sales management for over 300 proposals per month. I can't disclose the exact numbers but it's in the millions as to what we quote per month. It's being used throughout the company, from executive management all the way down to the customer service representatives. Its strength is the quick nature in which we can prepare and deliver a quote in a really professional way. Its weakness are the bugs that pop up from now and then but they usually get fixed in the monthly Quosal updates.

  • The accessibility from accessing our quotes on the web via a secure connection. Giving us the ability to look at quotes on our iPads and smartphones.

  • There are bugs that seem to pop up every now and then but they are usually corrected within the monthly updates.
  • The database structure and API to our CRM has flaws in it that are due to the limitations of the CRM API.
  • We sometimes come in to the software being down after an update that happens overnight.
  • Quosal is a west coast company and they pawn their support off to their sister CRM company in the morning. Those support reps are usually clueless and give you wrong answers so its always best to wait till 11am EST to get a Quosal rep.
Quosal is well suited for VARs or managed services companies. But all non-retail companies could benefit from using it. It depends on what you are selling and how you sell it. You can customize the proposals as much as you want and really implement your own companies policy into them but...you only get out of it, what you put into it.

  • Positive - Faster quote processing leading to better visibility.

  • Middle of the Road - It always seems like some of the issues that pop up are always super visible since they stick out.
Quosal is a far superior product than QuoteWerks. It took some getting used to but after you get comfortable with Quosal and keep an open mind you will see that there is no comparison. It took some people a day to realize it, some people a year (everyone is different and hates change).

Quosal replaced QuoteWerks in our organization and we have never looked back. It was the right decision for us. There will always be users that have used a product forever and they know nothing else. People have a tendency to resist change, but if Quosal is implemented right, your company can grow by 25% or more in sales. But you have to dedicate someone to it full time, creating templates, modifying the database when issues arise, supporting and training users.

Probably the seamless integration with our new CRM Connectwise was our deciding factor. But Quosal's API can link to other CRMs like Autotask or Dynamics or Netsuite etc.
If we had to do it all over again I just wish I knew then what I know now as far as technical knowledge. The people in your company implementing and deploying should really be super ramped up on their knowledge before implementation. This would have of saved us headaches if we just were a little more knowledgeable.

Well, when I was at IT Nation, I sat down with a developer and he actually fixed things as I spoke. That was cool and exceptional. I wish it was that way all the time but I take what I can get.

Quosal is used as UTG's primary quote and proposal delivery tool. Quosal streamlines repeat quote creation, order processing, pipeline management, and real-time pricing & inventory from major distributors.
  • The Order Porter function was a game changer for UTG when we adopted Quosal four years ago. We can deliver quotes to clients via one URL, update the quote as required, and still use the same URL eliminating the need for bulky PDFs going across the wire.
  • Quosal Sell adds pipeline management and extended reporting functions to help SELL and keep track of customer interactions.
  • The integration with ConnectWise opportunities gets better and better with each new release!
  • The ability to look at two quotes at the same time would be beneficial.
Great for all quotes from manufacturer renewals to new hardware to multi-phase project to new managed service agreements.
  • Our renewals practice has grown by 30% while decreasing the FTE count by about 30% for renewal processing.
  • The sales cycle for run rate items has decreased from weeks to days and even hours in some instances. Responsiveness with a tool that provides timely information has been a key factor in increasing our run rate sales.
We selected Quosal four years ago because of order porter, sharing among teams, repeatability, and integration to ConnectWise. Since then we have not looked back and have adopted the new features Quosal has offered. Our next step with Quosal Sell is already looking to be a great addition to a fantastic product.
