We are using CW Sell with Dynamics 365 in our organization. The integration with Dynamics 365 has been awful. When we had our first demo with the account rep and their engineers, we were promised the world and that everything was going to work. They answered yes to every question we had. We are about 9 months into using the products and every week we discover a new issue. Their support is not helpful and it takes a very long time to get things answered. Our main issue is that CW Sell DOES NOT work with Dynamics 365 nicely. There are so many bugs in Sell that we thought we were their first customer to have this integration. Some products from Sell don't transfer to Dynamics 365. Sell will corrupt your SharePoint environment if you use SharePoint as a document location. It is very difficult to make CW take issues seriously; it seems we are often ignored.
  • Proposal template looks professional.
  • The system is reasonably easy to learn and use.
  • It does not sufficiently integrate with Dynamics 365.
  • The system has had a huge number of bugs.
  • Most of the employees we work with do not take issues seriously, and it takes a very long time to obtain assistance.
  • The company seems to lack employees with sufficient technical knowledge to address issues.
ConnectWise Sell is probably well suited for a company with very basic proposal needs and plans on using ConnectWise Manage for CRM needs. If a company has anything beyond basic proposal needs and uses a CRM system other than ConnectWise Manage, that company should proceed with caution.

  • Implementing ConnectWise Sell and dealing with issues has drained a great deal time and resources. This has provided negative ROI because I have been dealing with issues and have not even had time to use the system in a strategic manner.
We were using D-Tools for proposal creation and that application is far better. The only reason we moved to Sell is that it has leasing capability.

Quosal is used by our sales, account management, purchasing, and accounting department. Since our transition to Quosal back in 2012, we have realized significant improvements in several key areas of our business. Our sales pipeline average has decreased by 50% while our hardware/software revenue has increased 200% without adding any additional resources. Quosal's API has given us the ability to completely automate our sales process; we are able to produce very impressive sales proposals in a fraction of the time. The manually data entry that previously consumed our sales and accounting resources is now achieved with the simple click of a mouse.
  • Quosal has integration with several accounting packages and CRMs. This is key if you want to automate your business processes.
  • Quosal's 'Order Porter' (e-quote system) is very end-user friendly. It can be setup to allow your customers to pick and remove products, change quantities, and electronically approve the quote. It can also be configured to capture payment via credit card, paypal, or leasing terms.
  • Etilize Live, a module within Quosal, integrates with most major vendor catalogs to provide real-time pricing simply by entering the product sku. It also allows us to place orders with our vendors from within Quosal. We can guarantee that we are getting the best pricing available without the need to shop each vendor website.
  • The first year we were using Quosal, they were consistently posting new 'How to' videos and live training sessions to help users become familiar with the software features and best practices. While those videos are still available, they are becoming less relevant with each software version patch. The help manual documentation should be updated with the software versions as well.
If you are producing sales quotes, this software is for you. It will help you create professional quotes with ease, automates your process, and reduces the errors associated with manually data entry.
  • 50% reduction in our average opportunity life cycle.
  • 200% increase in revenue without adding additional resources.
  • Significant increases in employee efficiency.
We used QuoteWerks for 5 years prior to Quosal - the difference is night and day. Quosal provided the scalability needed to grow our business and take on bigger challenges. Simply put, it was like going from using a spreadsheet to a fully-featured quoting tool. Any company that is looking for more out of their quote software should begin the transition to Quosal.
  • Implemented in-house
Quosal has very good support.
  • Shopping vendors to be sure that you have the best pricing. Quosal integrates with major vendors with a feature called 'Etilize Live." If you simply enter a manufacturer part number, etilize will return pricing for all vendors that carrying that product. If you do not have a manufacturer part number in mind, you can search by category or keyword and narrow down your selection (e.g. laptops or desktops). This process is much easier searching through each individual vendor.
  • Posting sales orders and purchase orders to QuickBooks or ConnectWise. Quosal has seamless integration to both applications; this process previously involved copying and pasting each line item from our quoting software (quotewerks) to QuickBooks, basically a part time job. With Quosal, the entire SO/PO can be posting with the click of a button. This was a huge efficiency gain for us.
  • Integration to our ConnectWise 'Sales Opportunities' was another function that is easy, we definitely take it for granted now. After sending a quote to your customer, creating the opportunity in ConnectWise is just one more click. This has made it a LOT easier to stay on top of sales forecasting. Before Quosal, our sales reps had to manually enter their opportunities into ConnectWise, this could easily sku our forecasting if they forgot to add the revenue to several opportunities. With Quosal, every time we send a quote to a customer, the opportunity in ConnectWise is updated with the most recent sales numbers.
  • The initial setup of Quosal and transition from our previous quoting software was fairly cumbersome for us. I don't blame Quosal at all for this though. When we were first getting Quosal setup, we did everything in our power to stay in our comfort zone and make Quosal work like our previous quoting software. We wasted the implementation session by having our Quosal consultant help modify the software to fit our needs. In retrospect, we should have started with the recommended setup and used the consulting time to learn all of the features and capabilities Quosal had to offer. We made the transition much harder than it needed to be. My advice for any companies new to Quosal: embrace the change. Start with the "canned" best practice setup and learn how the software was designed to work; don't try to conform the software to your process. You purchased Quosal for a reason, probably to improve your sales process and gain other efficiencies. These guys had companies like yours in mind when they created Quosal.
Yes
Quosal does have a mobile app for the ipad. We do not currently use it, but I have tested its functionality enough to know it would be a good product for a lot of companies. We don't use it because because most of our qoutes are created by our sales support team, an then delivered to our clients by our sales reps and account managers. If your sales team is more independent and create their own quotes, this app would be very beneficial to use. It is available for the App store; last I checked, you could demo the full product for 30 days with your Quosal credentials.
Quosal is a very solid product with a LOT of functionality. Quosal has two main products that they offer, 'Quosal Sell' and 'Quosal Create.' If you are looking for an "out-of-the-box" or "ready to use" quoting software, I would recommend Quosal Sell. If you are interested exploring advanced functionality and integration or have a resource on staff willing to assume an "admin" role, I would highly recommend Quosal Create.

Quosal provides quotes and sales management for over 300 proposals per month. I can't disclose the exact numbers but it's in the millions as to what we quote per month. It's being used throughout the company, from executive management all the way down to the customer service representatives. Its strength is the quick nature in which we can prepare and deliver a quote in a really professional way. Its weakness are the bugs that pop up from now and then but they usually get fixed in the monthly Quosal updates.
  • Professional looking documents delivered to customers.
  • The speed of rate in which we can turn a phone call to a quote to a opportunity to a win.
  • The accessibility from accessing our quotes on the web via a secure connection. Giving us the ability to look at quotes on our iPads and smartphones.
  • The ability to link to our CRM system which is on the exact page as Quosal.
  • There are bugs that seem to pop up every now and then but they are usually corrected within the monthly updates.
  • The database structure and API to our CRM has flaws in it that are due to the limitations of the CRM API.
  • We sometimes come in to the software being down after an update that happens overnight.
  • Quosal is a west coast company and they pawn their support off to their sister CRM company in the morning. Those support reps are usually clueless and give you wrong answers so its always best to wait till 11am EST to get a Quosal rep.
Quosal is well suited for VARs or managed services companies. But all non-retail companies could benefit from using it. It depends on what you are selling and how you sell it. You can customize the proposals as much as you want and really implement your own companies policy into them but...you only get out of it, what you put into it.

  • Positive - Faster quote processing leading to better visibility.
  • Negative - Poor reporting forcing us to use SSRS to create our own custom reports.
  • Middle of the Road - It always seems like some of the issues that pop up are always super visible since they stick out.
Quosal is a far superior product than QuoteWerks. It took some getting used to but after you get comfortable with Quosal and keep an open mind you will see that there is no comparison. It took some people a day to realize it, some people a year (everyone is different and hates change).

Everyone from customer service to executive management uses Quosal throughout the company. It seems everyone needs to have a little piece of Quosal in order to do their jobs.

Quosal is here to stay until something comes along that is better. Currently nothing on the market has its strength or power for serious companies.
Yes
Quosal replaced QuoteWerks in our organization and we have never looked back. It was the right decision for us. There will always be users that have used a product forever and they know nothing else. People have a tendency to resist change, but if Quosal is implemented right, your company can grow by 25% or more in sales. But you have to dedicate someone to it full time, creating templates, modifying the database when issues arise, supporting and training users.

Probably the seamless integration with our new CRM Connectwise was our deciding factor. But Quosal's API can link to other CRMs like Autotask or Dynamics or Netsuite etc.
If we had to do it all over again I just wish I knew then what I know now as far as technical knowledge. The people in your company implementing and deploying should really be super ramped up on their knowledge before implementation. This would have of saved us headaches if we just were a little more knowledgeable.

We did a slow rollout and let people get their feet wet before diving in.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled
It was ok.
  • Issues we didnt expect.
  • The change to our lives on a day to day basis.
  • The push back from users who hated change. This happens with all software implementations.
Wished I was better trained and more knowledgeable before we deployed.
Have to wait till 11pm EST time to get someone knowledgeable. That sucks truly. Almost half my day is gone. They need to provide premium support, where I can contact a "real" Quosal rep, anytime of the day or night 24/7.
Yes
I have reported a lot of bugs. Sometimes they get fixed quickly. Other times it takes awhile, as expected with any software company.
Well, when I was at IT Nation, I sat down with a developer and he actually fixed things as I spoke. That was cool and exceptional. I wish it was that way all the time but I take what I can get.
  • Quoting.
  • Winning a quote.
  • Analyzing what's out there as far as quotes.
  • Statements of Work but that might be because of us.
  • Item notes have become an issue and are cumbersome sometimes, especially when selling Dell.
Yes
It works pretty good on Ipads and on smartphones. Everything you can do on a laptop you can do on mobile.
It's an 9. Not a 10. No software package is a 10. None!! If a software package was a ten then it wouldn't ever be updated. Quosal has its flaws like everything else but it's not bad at all.
