Cornerstone OnDemand is being used by our entire system of over 40,000 employees and contractors. It is both our learning management system and our learning experience platform. Being in healthcare, we need to make sure all of our employees are compliant, but in addition to compliance we are using Cornerstone OnDemand to ensure that our employees have the tools and resources they need to succeed in a constantly changing environment.
  • LMS database has condensed our catalog into a manageable library.
  • LXP allows for a great user interface that is visually pleasing and easy to use.
  • Reporting has been more flexible than any other LMS.
  • There is so much customization, it can be unwieldy for admins.
  • The test engine is confusing to use.
  • Reporting 2.0 can be difficult to get used to.
Cornerstone OnDemand is best suited for large organizations with a lot of content that needs to be managed automatically. If you're a small company or you don't need to store much content, I would suggest a smaller LMS. This one is perfect for 10k+ organizations with a lot of compliance. It's not going to mimic an academic environment, but it will be a great experience for your employees.

Cornerstone On Demand is our main Learning Management System. We had 5 LMSs before we brought in Cornerstone On Demandand we were able to eliminate them all and consolidate into one platform that made the user experience so much better! It was a great experience to implement the platform and help our users adopt the new technology.

Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) is used across our entire organization for Learning and Performance. Additionally, we have partner accounts added into the system and are supporting learning for our partners as well. Cornerstone is effective for us to manage goals, development conversations, custom training learning paths, multiple learning programs, succession and more!
  • Reporting - For the most part, there is a report for everything in the system. A few sections need more enhancements (e.g. Community Reports), but overall if you have the information in the system you can pull a data analysis on it. Reporting 2.0 has also made great strides over the years and the future is bright with this robust reporting tool.
  • Cornerstone Check-Ins - A lot of companies are looking at Continuous Performance and I think the tool Cornerstone is building is going in the right direction. Often I find myself referencing what Cornerstone is doing when there are questions about tools supporting continuous performance.
  • Reporting 2.0 - While this is also on my Pros list, I think it's still new and has some usability issues. One area that's difficult is the setup and permissions. There are A LOT of permissions to navigate through and recently I found that even if you have the reporting permission for one area of the system, if you didn't have the permissions to actually see that area of the system you couldn't get it to show up on a report. There are a lot of dependencies on these permissions and it's not always clear.
  • Global Product Support: As long as I've used Cornerstone, GPS has been very inconsistent. Sometimes you get tickets answered quickly, other times it can take over a month. Often you don't get the root causes to the problems. Support also doesn't seem to be localized, so if I open a ticket it may be answered by someone in a different timezone which also impacts time for responses to be received/reviewed.
  • Overall system enhancements - There are some enhancements that definitely are improvements, but they may not take into consideration how end users are using the system. For example, there was an enhancement to change what a button did in the system so that it could connect with new Cornerstone functionality. Unfortunately, this new functionality was still in Early Adopter mode and folks weren't ready to launch the new functionality. Would love to see more of an opportunity for customers to weigh in on the pros/cons and when people should enable smaller changes to the system.
I've only worked at companies that use Cornerstone where the employee counts are between 6,000 and 17,000. I can't speak to how the system works for smaller organizations, but for large organizations there is a lot of power to be able to handle and customize the learning and performance experience.

At our organization Cornerstone is used as a global user learning tool. Training objects are made available to users based on their location and functional role within the organization. Both compliance and development training is managed in this single instance of the Learning system. Base on the users metadata it is incredibly flexible and easy to tailor the user experience navigating and making content accessible.

We are using the learning platform only within our hospital. I am very pleased with the depth of options within learning that are able to utilize with our employees. We use Cornerstone across the whole organization for new employee onboarding, on the job training, on the spot learning, new skills training, Annual Mandatory training, and much, much more. Cornerstone allows us to provide online learning in a huge variety of formats and also track learning for compliance.

Cornerstone is well suited for providing a one-stop-shop for all things learning, engaging users in a multitude of different avenues. I wish I had a team to assist me in implementing all the amazing things that you can utilize in Cornerstone. I am a team of 1 - so the great benefits and features sometimes take me much longer to implement than I would like.

We use Cornerstone to deliver Instructor-Led Training, and E-Learning courses to internal staff and external students. The LMS allows us to have one registration system for all of our users, which makes it fantastic for maintaining accurate records.
  • Reporting is one of Cornerstone's strong points. With reporting 2.0 you can create data from almost any content in the system, and share it via automation with other users.
  • I love that you can set permissions for individual users and groups down to the smallest detail. One group of users can see, do and interact with one items, while others in another group only have access to items you have pre-defined.
  • Automated registration emails are fantastic. Once the defaults are set up, the LMS delivers emails based on various transactions that happen with the system. It is fully automated, and truly a set and forget function. It replaces a lot of mundane emailing tasks.
  • There is a steep learning curve. Due to that reason, a better customer service structure is needed. While the community knowledge bank is great, it takes time to search for an answer and you need to know the term you are searching for. Getting support via a help ticket is hit or miss, and takes a very long time to get an answer or solution for anything above a basic problem.
  • Parts of the LMS do not use the same terminology as others. For that reason, when searching for an answer you may spend hours only to realize, Cornerstone is calling it something else in help, when in fact it is listed differently in the portal.
Cornerstone has its definite scenarios where it is well suited. For course registration, record keeping, reporting, and certificates, it is great. The end-user experience has a bit of a learning curve and could be improved. The admin area is updated and modern in some sections, but not others. If using the Extended Enterprise modules, you can find that offering a view for other language speakers can have its own issues. There is no language selector in the LMS, and instead, the platform relies on a user's own set browser language.

We use Cornerstone OnDemand globally for our entire organization. It addresses the need for tracking compliance training and also for offering development opportunities and resources, both for individual interests and for building skills and competencies as a business.
  • Cornerstone has GDPR approved data security, which is required for our global use.
  • Flexibility in configuration allows us to tailor the user experience according to regulations and specific needs.
  • Up time. It is extremely rare that there is a critical problem that negatively affects our users ability to access.
  • Dashboards are very limited compared to what I am used to seeing in platforms like ServiceNow.
  • Sometimes the flexibility can be a double-edged sword, in that there are many ways to get something wrong.
  • Mobile app - while it is great for consuming content, some items, like banners linking to the mobile portal instead of keeping users within the app, could use improvement.
Cornerstone OnDemand is very good for 90+% of the use cases. I would like to see some improvement on the LXP platform to allow easier creation of learning journeys. The Curricula are good for very regimented programs, and the Playlists are great for extreme flexibility at the cost of reporting. Seeing something in between, without the need to create a custom page or multiple curricula & playlists, would be great. Flexible paths, but with robust reporting capabilities.

At my company, Cornerstone is used to manage the Learning and Training assignments for all 5,000+ employees. Annual compliance trainings, special initiatives and weekly specials are all offered to our employees through the Cornerstone Learning platform. This LMS helps us stay up to date, innovative and ahead of the curve in our industry.

Great for users once it is rolled-out. It's easy to access materials and find new training opportunities. Great way to roll out new compliance trainings and then follow-up with reporting. The reporting feature of Cornerstone allows you to easily customize and pull data. This is been crucial to many business functions that impact our entire organization.

Cornerstone onDemand is being used across the enterprise. We addressed several business problems with this solution. First and foremost, we needed to get a full suite to we were not in so many different system. SSO was very much appreciated by the organization. We are now able to track certification, onboarding and competencies without paper and numerous excel sheets. Our performance data is in one place from corrective actions, evaluations, and development plans.

  • Robust curriculum builder.
  • Global Product Support (GPS).
  • Ability to remove items you assign - some require GPS to address.
  • Requisition Template Management.
It is such a robust platform and allows for out of the box builds. I find Cornerstone well suited for performance and learning. But, I feel it has some room to improve in the requisition management arena.

My organization uses the performance module of the Cornerstone OnDemand product for both annual performance reviews as well as long term succession planning for our salaried employees in both the staff and field groups. We moved from manual processes in these areas to completely automated processes within Cornerstone OnDemand.
  • Lots of customization options.
  • Great support options available to guide decisions.
  • Lots of options for implementation partners.
  • Cornerstone is an industry expert in learning and development. It's not just something they've acquired from another company and repackaged.
  • Some of the processes are structured differently on the back end than the main platform so the same rules don't apply consistently throughout.
  • There are a lot of bells and whistles so it can be overwhelming for someone new to using systems.
Cornerstone is great if you know where you want to go but can be overwhelming in terms of options if there isn't a strong direction already in mind. It's important to know what you want before getting started so that implementation goes smoothly. External implementation can be costly so the system wouldn't make sense for smaller organizations under 500 users.

We currently utilize the performance management tool, along with compensation management for all employees in our corporate and wholesale locations. We also utilize it for our management level positions and above in the US and Canada. By utilizing this tool, we are able to provide feedback in real time to our employees, instead of just twice a year.

We also utilize the learning management system for a very small (less than 200) retail population.
  • Deliver on-demand training.
  • Provide a way for Performance Improvement Plans to be easily tracked.
  • Provide us with the ability to give leaders insight into the merit increase process.
  • Cascading of the merit budget can be difficult when a leader has more than one function.
  • Unable to cleanly utilize the compensation tool if performance reviews do not have a score.
  • Any significant work must be done with a third party as Cornerstone no longer completes the work internally (e.g., file interfaces, significant reconfiguration of the tool).
Cornerstone is well suited for organization with a straight forward structure. The LMS is still the primary focus and has quite a bit of support. While we have successfully utilized the performance management tool, the compensation management component is lacking.

Cornerstone OnDemand is being used by all our employees, and our pre employees during the recruitment compliance stage. It ensures we can get the right learning out to teams and staff swiftly. We are able to create learning and host it on the system very easily. In addition we can curate learning and host this and push out to certain job roles. This makes the system specific to certain roles while accessible for all.
  • Hosting learning - we can put learning into the system easily.
  • Making learning specific - we can create curriculums just for certain job groups.
  • Choice - we can have a choice of different learning objects which makes it flexible.
  • Would like to more affordable content through Anytime.
  • Support desk isn't always supportive.

Cornerstone is well suited to any type of organisation. However it is useful if you have team members that can understand the system and are conversant in using data.

Our organization is using CSOD for our learning management system. Prior to partnering with CSOD, we had a very unorganized learning management system that did not have a lot of functionality. We have since used CSOD to track and report learning as well as integrate online learning content. WE have cultivated a whole new learning culture with the help of CSOD LMS.
  • Makes it easy for users to find learning opportunities.
  • Makes it easy for administrators to track and report on learning.
  • Becomes a one-stop shop for learning in the organization.
  • Reporting capabilities and functionality.
  • UX for some of the functions that are still lacking.
CSOD is best used in an organization with centralized learning governance. For organizations without a centralized learning governance can become troublesome with maintenance issues. Allowing multiple system admins with different levels of access and no reporting control has many drawbacks. The system is great for managing training and offerings but can be harder when there are multiple admins adding content and training events.

We use CSOD across our global organization. Every employee is licensed, which helps drive a consistent learning experience. We utilize language packs to keep our non-English speaking employees engaged. The workforce is made up of primarily remote workers, meaning they do not have computers at their work stations. This requires a mobile-ready platform and CSOD delivers.

Cornerstone is great for a large organization where bells and whistles aren't so much a nice-to-have, but a need-to-have. We couldn't do what we do on a smaller-scale LMS because of the functionality that CSOD provides behind the scenes helps cut, if not totally eliminate, our administrative tasks.

Cornerstone OnDemand is used by the whole organization, which contains around 26000 employees. We were not using any digital learning options before using Cornerstone Learning. Now we can offer our employees all the tools they need to further develop their knowledge and wellbeing and give them the opportunity to keep on learning, even in this daunting time.

Cornerstone is very well suited for online training! There are a lot of different ways to offer online learning, for example via videos, e-learnings and materials. There is also a very good opportunity to report on the use of online trainings by employees. This is very interesting, because it allows us to improve the online learning further within the company.

We are using Cornerstone OnDemand to optimize our compliance and also upskilling and reskilling of employees. This is done through the use of ILT, online course, multiple curricula as well as other online vendors that supply content to assist the employees of our organization. We also use Cornerstone OnDemand to re-sell content to third party affiliates.

Cornerstone OnDemand is our company-wide, primary LMS. We use it to manage and distribute compliance and developmental training to employees in a variety of work environments.
  • Offers a variety of learning types/formats.
  • It provides detailed training history & features for compliance.
  • Has an updated User Interface.
  • Because the system is feature-rich, there is a learning curve for admins.
  • Some system updates are slow to happen.
Cornerstone OnDemand is well suited for companies that want a robust learning and training platform and are willing to invest in properly managing it. A company that does not have someone who will be able to devote the time to learning or managing the system may not find it to be very beneficial. It's the sort of thing that you get out of it what you put into it.

I lead the selection and implementation of CSOD for the entire organization. We have over 14,500 employees in 52 departments but had no clear strategy for learning and other compliance issues of all types. Everything from Courts to Public health, to road construction to the sheriff's department. This required a very flexible, robust system that was still straight forward to manage. We also needed stringent permission settings that could deal with the variety of department issues.
  • Outstanding Customer Service. Very responsive and reasonable--especially for a software company
  • Forward-looking design and development approach. But they still make changes based on customer needs and not just to have more bells and whistles than their competitors.
  • User-friendly on the front-end without sacrificing the power and flexibility on the administration side.
  • Reporting has come along way but Reporting 2.0 needs to be completed
  • More transparent when issues arise. As customers, we already know issues will arise. More transparency would save us the effort and time of trying to figure out if the issue is on our side or theirs.
Cornerstone OnDemand is excellent for large organizations (1000 users or more) where there is a diverse set of users and needs. Perfect for organizations that need robust security roles that allow for granular application to various use cases. Excellent for all organizations that have high compliance needs.

Not worth the effort for small organizations (<1000 users) where the need for security and automation is low or compliance needs are few.

Cornerstone OnDemand is a leader in the Learning Management space, provides robust reporting capabilities, and has an extensive content library. They also have a great product in talent to really help you identify gaps in your talent and where training opportunities lie. The Talent Management suite is lighter in the recruiting space and isn't as robust as some of the other ATS leaders on the market.

We utilize it for performance, succession planning, development plans, recruiting, and learning management. We currently are implementing it across the whole organization. Cornerstone OnDemand addresses needs we had in creating a formal and online process for recruiting, an electronic process for performance, and a more robust training system.
  • Learning Management is their strong suit and where they started. It is robust and addresses many of our needs as it can be customized in some ways to fit the business.
  • The recruiting platform really hits many of the check boxes for what a company needs to have a fully automated process. It time stamps and tracks all the metrics needed to understand how well the recruiting effort is doing.
  • Cornerstone is constantly updating their modules to better serve their customers. This has been seen in the Learning and recruiting modules.
  • Pricing! When we first contracted with Cornerstone OnDemand, their pricing was very competitive and implementation was extremely fair. However, now they have implementation fees that can raise the cost to a ludicrous level and that takes away from their good product.
  • Turnover: We have had several "Client Success Managers" over the short time we have had Cornerstone OnDemand as well as three Sales Reps.
  • The performance system is not very modern. Difficult to create and track development plans and reviews. The idea of always having to create a task is inconvenient and archaic in my opinion. They could make the processes much easier.
  • Succession Planning needs a lot of work!
Cornerstone OnDemand has a good product and continues to improve their product to be better suited to fit the needs and wants of their customers. That being said, they have significantly increased their price and implementation costs which may become a big issue if not already. Their support is average and assigned contacts to clients continually fluctuates. Of all the competitors in their industry, they probably have the best overall product to offer and it is all made by them and not something acquired of which they try to fit in.

We assign training, do performance reviews, and track employee engagement with Cornerstone.
  • Drag and drop filters for Custom Reporting 2.0 is nice.
  • Training assignments.

We use Cornerstone OnDemand LMS for our entire organization. Some are using the Performance Tool; however, they are not very happy with it. The LMS is a good tool and has many capabilities and with recent enhancements is good at managing compliance on a global level.
  • The LMS is user friendly. It allows for easy content replacement with reversioning.
  • The user interface is friendly and appealing. Like Netflix, you can browse with ease.
  • Communicating upcoming enhancements.
  • Too many easy fixes require a call to their technical team.
  • Not enough admin access to truly make the system our own.
  • Their Help Desk leaves something to be desired. The response times are terrible.
The LMS is good and has great capabilities, however the rest of the system is very unfriendly and cumbersome. Not enough admin capabilities and too many calls to the tech team to fix simple mistakes made by admins or end users.

We use the CSOD (Cornerstone on Demand) LMS (Learning Management System) for all our Learners in the USA & the UK. We use CSOD to let people register for instructor-led training; launch eLearning; track Learner's course completions; automatically display Learners certificate of completions on their LinkedIn profiles, and integrate their completion information with Micron (a system that tracks people's compliance with their certification/designation requirements).
  • It works well on laptops.
  • People can generally find the classes they need using the search bar.
  • The administrative function is clunky and not the most user-friendly. Entering a course description seems to require knowledge of HTML and takes a long time.
  • It's not the most user-friendly interface. (To be fair, we're using the old module and are in the process of switching to the new Learner Center home-page).
  • When people receive class information, they receive an Outlook invitation. When class details change, it would be really helpful to have a way to automatically update the Learner's Outlook invitation with the new information.
  • It would be nice if CSOD were more proactive about providing guidance on how to use their tool.
  • IT would be incredibly valuable for CSOD to conduct formal usability studies on CSOD. It's not intuitive to Learners.
  • For some reason, the mobile version of CSOD doesn't let us display all our classes. It would be great to have a fully functioning mobile version.
  • It would be helpful if we could have multiple people get notified when a Learner registers for training because we have dual reporting (e.g. the Learner's manager AND his/her Engagement Manager). Both people need to know the Learner's schedule.
CSOD works fine on laptops for the basic functions of an LMS (registering for classes, launching eLearning, and tracking participation). It's not the most user-friendly system.
