Use Cases and Deployment Scope
CoSchedule is our primary social sharing tool. We use it to manage, schedule, and measure our content sharing across our social channels. The key advantage has been creating a schedule before content is published. We used to use Buffer exclusively, but found we had to scramble the day an article was published to load up future schedules. This allows us to create and manage the sharing content on our own terms and schedules.
Pros
  • Pre-scheduling social media shares before content is published
  • Calendar view to clearly see what's going out, when
  • Metrics on what content is doing well, and easy to repost top performing posts
Cons
  • Would like to replicate some of the functionality of Buffer (sharing other content easily from multiple sources) to consolidate our marketing calendar in one place.

CoSchedule was used for connecting our social media activities and efforts with all of the actions taken on our content marketing strategy.
We found CoSchedule extremely useful when it comes to WordPress, and it also supported our search engine optimization processes, with intuitive stats that it provided. We could plan the whole distribution of content using just one platform, and I find that the biggest advantage of CoSchedule.
CoSchedule will be of help for marketing departments, especially for content marketers and copywriters, but also social media marketers who need to work on content.

  • Connecting content strategy (WordPress) with social media posting.
  • Social media scheduling.
  • Simple SEO hints.
Cons
  • The panel is overwhelming -- a better onboarding would help.
  • I find the pricing quite high.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you work in an organization where you need to combine content with social media, CoSchedule is one of the best tools in the business. Especially if you work with WordPress, and if you work with several clients from different industries. You can keep it all together in CoSchedule.
However, if you are into social media only, without blog content creation, there are a couple of better tools for managing social media and supporting more social media forms.

CoSchedule is my top social media scheduling tool. It gives you the ability to integrate with all major social media platforms quickly and easily. The mobile app is one of the best social scheduling apps available.
Pros
  • Great pricing structure -- 1 person, up to 10 social profiles: $49/month or $40/month billed annually with the free 14-day trial.
  • Updates and new features. CoSchedule is continuously making changes to better the application. I always feel like they are looking ahead to keep the tool relevant.
Cons
  • For single users and smaller teams, sharing completed calendars is tricky. There's not really a place for feedback or edits without signing up a second user.
Likelihood to Recommend
CoSchedule is ideal for social media managers and project coordinators. CoSchedule might be unnecessary for product owners and those not handling marketing efforts.

We used CoSchedule to manage our own social media, as well as schedule the social media for some of our own clients. Additionally, we set up CoSchedule for other clients who were managing their own social media accounts, so that we could monitor analytics and activity, and provide support when necessary.
Pros
  • Creating and scheduling posts is extremely easy.
  • Easy to fill up open slots with recycled content, through their ReQueue feature.
  • Good support via the Facebook group.
  • Mobile app works quite well.
Cons
  • Quite expensive.
  • Interface isn't user-friendly when it comes to admin.
Likelihood to Recommend
CoSchedule is great for businesses or agencies who need an overview of all their marketing efforts, and who want to establish collaboration between multiple departments. The calendar view is one of the best we've worked with and makes it easy to see exactly what's happening. There is some slight clunkiness when it comes to admin-related tasks, and a few things aren't easy to find, but there's great support.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that CoSchedule solves more problems than one--some that you might not even know you have. CoSchedule makes scheduling posts and keeping track of your content calendar a breeze.

  • Allows you to schedule content across multiple platforms within one location

  • Can be a bit pricey
