This Software allows usage, status of Crestron systems in your corporate environment. The setup is probably the biggest hassle, because you need to plan what items you want to monitor and configure the Fusion hooks to enable the devices to be correctly monitored. Once configured it works well enough, but needs continual updating as you add/ remove any new systems.
  • Monitor if a room is in use / on
  • Give you the status of your projector lamps / filters (timer based)
  • Gives you a one stop location to see the overall corporate status of all Crestron systems.
  • Every hook needs to be set to make any useful data to be created / shown
  • Interface needs to set up
  • Continual maintenance to make data accurate
The Crestron Fusion software is best for a site that has a Crestron Programmer onsite to configure and maintain said system. It works well but needs to have someone keep up on changes or additions. Any environment where you don't have a Crestron expert onsite could be cost prohibitive, as your data would be inaccurate after every upgrade, unless you built the cost into the upgrade.
  • Integrates with Crestron's devices
  • Room in use status
  • Projector lamp replacement info
  • without proper design your information might be lacking or wrong
  • This is not a set and forget program
  • As we replace 15-20 rooms a year, the ongoing maintenance takes time and or money
At the time Crestron fusion was the only software that would integrate well with the Crestron systems. Since we are fully Crestron site we needed a program that would help us to maintain and monitor all things Crestron.

Crestron Fusion is being used to monitor and control classrooms, conference rooms and for meeting scheduling at our university. We use it to ensure uptime, measure usage, and as a rough inventory [management solution].
  • Fusion is the main infrastructure for the Crestron Ecosystem and a result is a key components
  • It has a decent ui and is easy to group and find assets. We arrange things by classroom.
  • It requires a lot of understanding to set up for metrics. You really have to put what you want to measure into the code of each room so it can report back. It is cumbersome to add in a new metric.
  • It just seems like it can be easier to have the equipment autopopulate and do standard reporting and control without having to build each of it for each piece of equipment.
If you are using a lot of Crestron equipment in your environment you really do need to deploy this management software.
  • Fusion has helped us make decisions on what types of equipment is being used in each room. It helped us eliminate parts not being used and saving us money in design and supportability.
  • It has also helped us in that each morning we scan for what systems need attention. This has helped us create a much higher uptime.
We had several competitors to Crestron and in part because of Fusion and because of their DMPS line we have standardized on their products. Having this level of standardization really helped us have a much more solid solution. We have brought down our incidents from 90 per month to under ten.
