CrowdCompass is a versatile app that is widely used by event attendees to access schedules, event information, and communicate with organizers. Users have reported that the app offers a unique and interactive experience, making networking more enjoyable at events. The advanced functionalities and mission-critical security components of CrowdCompass have made it a preferred choice for Siemens AG and its subdivisions. One of the key benefits of the app is its ability to easily download and load event information across various platforms, making it convenient for users.

The use cases of CrowdCompass are extensive, ranging from regional to global events. It provides valuable information on schedules, sessions, handouts, event communications, and even social media engagement. The app supports gamification features, custom content creation, and personalized schedules for specific groups. This has proven to be particularly useful for small events management departments, as it enhances their efficiency and enables effective communication with attendees.

CrowdCompass has addressed several common problems faced by event organizers. Its ability to eliminate the need for printing handouts not only helps reduce costs but also promotes environmental consciousness. Additionally, the app generates additional revenue through banner ad sales while providing trackable attendee engagement data. For large conferences and events in the travel incentive industry, CrowdCompass has successfully tackled on-site communication challenges by offering personalized schedules and push notifications.

Integration with Cvent SMM has been a significant advantage for many users, as it saves time and provides real-time updates and changes during events. The software seamlessly integrates with other registration sites as well, making it simpler for organizers to provide a better experience for attendees. Furthermore, CrowdCompass serves as the main source of event information for annual user meetings and conferences, eliminating the need for printed materials.

Overall, users appreciate the value that CrowdCompass brings to their events by providing a clean and usable mobile app experience for any size event. Its features such as delegate lists, agendas, notifications, and maps have proven to be highly valuable for managing events and providing information to attendees. Push notifications are particularly appreciated as they enable timely updates and important announcements during events. While there may be room for improvement in terms of the app's interface, users express overall satisfaction with CrowdCompass and its contribution to enhancing the event experience.

Based on user reviews, the most common recommendations for CrowdCompass are to customize the app to meet specific needs, consider integration with Cvent for seamless registration and unique content, and explore alternative vendors for additional features.

Users highly advise becoming familiar with CrowdCompass settings and taking the time to learn all of its features. They recommend customizing the app to meet specific event requirements and being patient during the initial setup.

For events that integrate with Cvent registration and require tailored content, users highly recommend using CrowdCompass. They also suggest using CrowdCompass for events that don't need frequent changes in Cvent. Easy integration with Cvent and GDPR compliance are prioritized.

While users appreciate CrowdCompass for its event engagement, connectivity, and cost-saving benefits, some suggest exploring alternatives that offer more gamification and connection options. They encourage comparing CrowdCompass with other event smartphone/tablet apps and considering data export requirements.

In summary, users recommend trying CrowdCompass for instant communication, meeting evaluation/surveys, event engagement, connectivity, cost-saving benefits, and organizing large corporate events. They highlight the importance of customization, integration with Cvent, and considering alternative vendors if specific features are needed.

I am being contracted to build more and more apps throughout both Higher Education and various companies for both larger commencements, orientations to smaller internal meetings. So far it has reduced a majority of the email communication, as well as printing cost and any last minute changes!
  • Incredibly easy for those creating. Easy to manage changes and flow within the integrations or separate. Can add custom branding, information!
  • As well as easy download and to find information once you are in the app. It is clean and can show branding and sponsors throughout letting everyone shine!
  • Easy last minute changes, editing, adding or removing additional content! For instance it seems that there is always some last minute changes to the room, speaker, etc. instead of printing out I can make the edits and if needed do a push notification!
  • Additional features are great; Live Polling, Q&A (great for internal meetings), Push Notifications (need to send a reminder), Surveys (pre, during and post)
  • Grouping attendees understanding how grouping works and if you have attendees going to see multiple things but only one them to see a certain selection.
  • Social Media integrating Instagram and Facebook, not just Twitter and Flickr
Suited for groups of over 50 for both internal, external and larger events (Conferences, Orientations, Graduations). It allows all information to be updated and at the hands of the attendee within minutes with all the answers there (instead of one-off emails/phones calls).

I would not recommend for smaller 40 and under groups as long as it is a basic meeting with not a lot of features being used (Polling, Surveys), everyone is staying together as on group as the system may be too robust!

My company used CrowdCompass for our big annual event. The app was available to all attendees and people who registered for the event. We utilized the app for people to register for sessions, communicate with one another, to post important information, and upload the property and conference space maps. Almost everyone who attended used the app and loved it!

We use the CrowdCompass Mobile App for our two largest events each year. Since we started using the app, we no longer print handouts for individual sessions, we have additional revenue from banner ad sales, and we have trackable attendee engagement data, which makes reporting to our stakeholders so much easier.
  • Provides attendees with their personalized schedules at their fingertips.
  • Facilitates networking through the ability to set appointments and send messages with other attendees, and inspires competition with The Game and Click challenges.
  • Gives attendees the ability to view handouts, take notes and download the information to their personal computers when they get back to their offices.
  • The session surveys are easy to overlook on the session detail screen
  • When you create a new event by copying a previous event, the survey questions don't copy. That means you have to recreate your surveys from scratch each time.
  • On the list of invitations that have been sent, you get an exclamation point next to anyone whose email didn't go through, but there is no other detail provided about the problem.
We like CrowdCompass because it is integrated with Cvent, so all the information we enter in Cvent gets pushed out to the mobile app. That saves a ton of time on our end because we don't have to re-enter all of the details twice.

Currently we use CrowdCompass for our regional events in North and South America (150 - 650 attendees) as well as our 3 annual global conferences (1500-3000 attendees) as a hub for information on our schedules, sessions and handouts, event communications, and as a social media hub. Additionally, we utilize gamification and banner ad sells to improve the outreach of out exhibitors and sponsors as well as bring in additional revenue. Finally, we regularly host popular giveaways for our users at our events using the scavenger hunt.
  • Provides a single source for important event information, notifications, and scheduling/agenda assistance for our participants.
  • Easy to pull metrics on adoption, use, and session feedback
  • Excellent Live-Polling, Q&A, and resources for Speakers
  • Easy Build/Set-up
  • Gamification Features - While popular with our users, limited ability to customize or alter the features and set-up.
  • Finding Session handouts can be difficult for attendees - would be helpful to have a central hub for their downloads.
  • No duplication of events means a lot of time repeating features of a build for repeat events.
CrowdCompass is wonderful for medium to large events with a variety of sessions, speakers, and breakout rooms or locations. It's an excellent tool for planners to push messages and information to attendees and a great way to see feedback or interactions through the social wall. The tool is popular with our users with adoption pushing up into 80% and 90% for our recent events.

My company uses CrowdCompass for our annual company client conference. We use it in lieu of an agenda booklet and it goes above and beyond just replacing that. It allows us to be interactive with our attendees, gathers feedback from them on sessions and events, notifies them directly of event changes, connects them with other attendees, and so much more.
  • Connects users with one another. You can easily contact and send a message to network with another user and schedule meetings.
  • Gives you the ability to contact and reach all of your attendees with important updates and information via push notifications.
  • Allows you to gather critical feedback on your events via live polls and surveys. What worked well, what didn't, to make informed decisions on how to optimize future events.
  • I think the design and color schemes can be more unique and updated.
  • More reporting metrics.
Crowdcompass is well suited for all types of events, especially those with a large number of attendees so you can easily connect with them. It can be used for events with sponsors or smaller events without sponsors or exhibitors. It is less appropriate for small meetings, where the group can more easily connect with one another.

It's being used as our events mobile app. We include details for travel, agenda, and notifications to attendees and staff for updates.
  • Push notifications are great when changes are made to alert the attendees and staff.
  • Fast updating of the agenda sessions when our teams need to change things.
  • Smooth downloading.
  • Publishing the app: we have to re-upload our images for the publishing to complete.
Making the boxes bigger when copying an existing event so they are easier to see so they don't get missed in the process.

CrowdCompass is being used by our event teams across all divisions (5 total) of the company. CrowdCompass is used for both internal and external attendee events which include training session, hospitality events, and information sessions. We are trying to implement more green initiatives and this one one way to reduce needing printed materials on site.
  • Personalized Agenda
  • Ability to share links, documents, presentations, etc.
  • Customer Service
  • API integrations
  • Live Chat
CrowdCompass is great for multiple session events, when you have speaker information to share, when you want you attendees to connect with each other live, when you want immediate feedback, when you want to share documents and links, and when you want to cut down on printed materials.

CrowdCompass is not best for a single session event. You wouldn't be able to fully utilize all the great features with such a small program.

  • Simple for the user
  • Relatively modern feel
  • Could improve some integration points with Cvent.
  • Additional customization with certain features.
  • More ways to work with the Support department (can only call or email).

This app platform is one that will do just about everything you would need in a program for the right price. They look into many features and navigation options gearing you towards building a social media network during your entire program . Many features are available but not necessarily known right away. A deeper dive into this software can really open up your creative side. A mobile iPhone, Android and iPad friendly version is available along with the "web" view for those who dare to be different with their Windows and BB devices or just want to play on their PCs instead.

Since it is a Cvent product, any event setup in Cvent can be integrated into CrowdCompass so you can have a full featured app almost completely built without having to do the same work you already did to set the event up originally. Additional customization and options are available to tailor the app experience so it is unique and more useful as a tool for attendees. The best part of it to me is the Map feature where a diagram of the event location can be uploaded and then any area on the map can be pinpointed and associated with other content throughout the app. This means precise locations can be easily pointed out and found by anyone using the feature and it is invaluable for events where there are a lot of different specific spaces. Registration, session rooms, exhibitor booths, meals and breaks can all be pinned and found directly on the map or from their own detail pages.
  • Integration
  • The Map tool
  • Ease of use
  • Event apps are becoming consolidated into one platform app that contains events from all the clients who use it.
  • No branding of your own app with your own name and your attendees having to download a third-party app with events other than just yours available in it.
I've been using this for our big events for the last few years and it has worked out very well. Some of the login features are quirky, but they keep adding updates and features to make everything run better and more smoothly. It can be customized for many looks and you can use your own launch icons that you create to really make the app branded to your events. The attendee experience has been very positive through the app because it gives them the ability to network and makes everything from the program and speaker information to on site locations easy to find. If you use other Cvent software, it can all be synced so it saves a lot of time without having to enter the same details in two or more places.

I have used CrowdCompass as a user, and recommend to our clients the use of CrowdCompass whenever an on-site app is requested.
  • Only needs to be downloaded once EVER, not once per event!
  • Syncs automatically with registration data - huge time saver.
  • Creative engagement options.
  • Small learning curve.
  • Cost-prohibitive for smaller organizations.
Great for groups who meet with your organization often, or for 3+ day events.

Not ideal/not worth it for shorter (two days or less), one-off meetings.

We are currently using CrowdCompass as a TMC. We create apps for the events our client's host. We customize the app to have the same look and feel like the registration site.
  • CrowdCompass is easy to use and learn! something rare nowadays with any technology.
  • CrowdCompass is linked with Cvent which makes importing your attendee information and sessions so much easier.
  • This app is user-friendly! We have all kinds of demographics for our users and everyone absolutely loves it.
  • The Maps feature, while intuitive and great to use, does have a bit of an issue. When creating locations you have to be careful not to misspell their names as there currently isn't a way to edit that information.
  • The Maps feature allows you to create locations but often can't block info on the map, so location is important, but depending on your program blank space maps isn't a luxury you will always have.
Our clients love using the apps for conferences as it is great to be able to send out notifications in an instant and show personalized schedules. We have had a harder time implementing the app for incentives as most people simply want to enjoy their time at their leisure and not be glued to their phones.

We use it for our yearly Customer Conference. It is an amazing resource at the conference. It holds all of our information for our staff, such as schedules, alerts for meetings, maps, and program agendas. For our attendees, they are able to connect with each other and vendors, check their schedules, ask live Q&A, post pictures, and play our game. Our exhibitors use it to secure meetings with our attendees.
  • Their Sessions tabs allow for live polling and live Q&A inside each session, as well as downloading the decks and connecting with the speakers.
  • It allows for different push notifications per group. So your staff can be reminded of their daily meetings, while your attendees are reminded where breakfast is.
  • It is really fully customization to your show, you can add as many pages, sessions, etc for what's right for you.
  • The game is not customizable.
  • It would be nice if LeadCapture was part of the app.
This is perfect for any corporate event spanning more than a day, or with more than one session. I would not use it for a one session event, or a webinar. However, any time you are having multiple days with multiple sessions, this would be ideal to use. Even a single day event with a lot of concurrent sessions.

For us, CrowdCompass is used as the event app for our annual conference only. We do not currently use it for any other events as they are much smaller - however, I look forward to one day using the app to be a branded container for all of our events.

The CrowdCompass app allows us to integrate the entirety of a program into someone's phone - offering a quick review of all the session offerings as well as additional background information that was not/will not be printed. We have been able to send out special information for specific registration types as well, allowing for personalized communication through a generic app.
  • Easy to navigate - it's clear based on best practices from the app industry where to place information, what information to have standardized.
  • Very easy to integrate information from Cvent as well as updated directly
  • Great extended features - like hidden icons that only appear once you log in!
  • Always updating and adding new features to enhance the product
  • It's sometimes too structured.
  • The help section on the back end is VERY hard to use.
  • It's not yet fully integrated into the Cvent branding, so the vocabulary is not always exactly what you're used to from Cvent event creation.
Well suited for:
Large conferences with lots of sessions and participants
Adding depth to your content by offering additional reading materials on any one session or your organization

We are using it for our annual conference. It is being used by all of the conference attendees and our staff.
  • Shows the schedule
  • Incorporates social media
  • Allows people to connect at the conference
  • Scheduling tool is a little wonky
  • The Excel sheet you have to use sometimes is hard to work with
  • A bit slow to update
It is great for big conferences when you go paperless and don't have printed agendas anymore.

We use CrowdCompass for our internal annual conference. It is used by all attendees, and it addresses the need for improved communication during a large event and helps reduce printing costs. In addition, having an event app provides attendees with a unique, interactive experience that is fun, engaging and perfect for networking.
  • Easy to setup/build and maintain
  • Provides unique and engaging features such as gamification, live polls, and social sharing
  • Good reporting tools for capturing survey feedback and attendee engagement
  • Additional features to drive engagement, such as customizable games
  • Social sharing features are good, but could be made simpler to get more folks engaged. Would also be great to have Instagram
  • Even more robust reporting and analytics
Highly recommended for any event, regardless of size. It was particularly well suited for providing detailed event information to attendees, and giving them the chance to socialize, network, and immerse themselves in the event experience. As an event app, I can't think of scenarios where it is "less appropriate" during an event, it serves its purpose well.

Trying to incorporate it into our event both pre-event to drum up excitement, on-site to enhance the attendee experience as well as communicate important and often urgent messages to all attendees. Used by the Event Team within the marketing department. Addresses the issue of needing to streamline the event experience on-site.
  • Streamlines the process of creating an app.
  • Helping planners understand the value of the app and how best to utilize it.
  • Collect attendee engagement at the event.
  • Continued flexibility in the build is always appreciated.
  • More recommendations on how best to incorporate the app into the overall event experience.
While I am not extremely well versed in the program/platform as we are relatively new to understanding its capabilities, it is a great option for those companies or event planning teams that are looking to start incorporating an event app into their event strategy but don't necessarily understand where or how to start.

We use CrowdCompass to augment our event experience. We no longer have to print out programs (which are outdated the minute we send them to the printer due to changes). We can also interact with our attendees with games, and get photos that we can use for marketing during and after the event.
  • Linking with Cvent, we can push updates to the app via Cvent so we don't have to update in 2 places.
  • With push notifications (both scheduled & unscheduled), we can update our attendees.
  • Integration from Cvent to CrowdCompass is great, but the other way around is not 100% yet.
  • There is some localization, but only on the parts of the app that are hardcoded; there isn't yet a way to do localization for the parts that one can edit.
If you use Cvent, CrowdCompass is amazing with the integration. If you don't use Cvent, it's still great to use with how easy it is to set up the app and to have multiple events running at the same time within the app.

  • Event information available to attendees in one centralized place.
  • Push notifications can be customized by attendee group.
  • Surveys can be done quickly and during the event.
  • It can be a little difficult to get your content organized if you have a lot of pages (it’s not super intuitive).
  • We sometimes have people who don’t “get” how to sign in for personalized content.
Best for large and complex events to keep multiple groups of people organized.

It is being used in our Group Travel department mostly for incentive trips but also for a few meetings/trade shows. It helps us get all of the information into the hands of our attendees without giving them lots of paper. It also allows us to provide up to the minute updates to the attendees should there be any schedule changes.
  • Love that it provides each attendees air travel and hotel information so attendees can have all of their important information in one place
  • Push notifications are great to get out information quickly to attendees. Have not had any issues with them not working as I did in the past with other mobile apps.
  • The map feature where you can drop pins to show where events are throughout your trip is great. And it can be accessed from a session or just by looking at the map and clicking pins directyl.
  • I believe the setup can be a bit cumbersome at times.
It is very well suited for trade shows and meetings and some incentive trips. There are some incentive trips where it does not make sense to use such as on a cruise ship where WiFi is not very good and they also have a newsletter and communication system on board.

Our company uses CrowdCompass as the meeting event app for programs we manage. We also help clients with managing and learning to use their CrowdCompass account. Instead of having paper material handed out during an event, we use the app to relay all necessary information, including agendas and travel information. CrowdCompass is managed by our app team, but content is given by the planning team, and attendees are the real users.
  • Social Wall -- Sharing internal and external content onto a digital wall
  • Personalized Agendas -- Multiple ways to personalize, either between assigning sessions to people, placing people in groups, or restricting access.
  • Importing Contacts and information.
  • The "My" Section such as "My Schedule" -- we sometimes have a generalized schedule we don't assign to attendees, but the My section shows first in the app menu, and they want to go to the "My Schedule" and get confused when they don't see their schedule, and we then have to explain that they need to go to "Agenda".
  • Uploading graphics to different sections -- If we want a section with descriptions about activities, adding graphics and then viewing them in the app is not very intuitive.
  • Container App -- Not having the ability to do private distribution for apps, and trying to make clients understand why people have to go through a container app.
When the client is very adamant about branding (i.e. needing a private distribution app) and when having a basic agenda, needing to group attendees into multiple groups, and possibly modify an existing uploaded group assignment -- look at other options. When connecting to a Cvent registration site, personalizing agendas, restricting views on different sections, and grouping attendees into those groups all works great.

CrowdCompass is being used by the whole organization and attendees at our events. CrowdCompass creates a way to connect with attendees and staff onsite through banner ads, push notifications, etc.
  • CrowdCompass allows us to connect with attendees during the event
  • Through CrowdCompass, we can send targeted push notifications to particular regions or attendees of particular sessions
  • Through Click in CrowdCompass, attendees have a different experience through a Scavenger Hunt
  • Reporting could be updated to include, how many people are clicking on notifications, who exactly is clicking/spending time on things within the app
  • Visually it could look more updated
  • CrowdCompass should send notifications directly to the phone, rather than only when the app is open
  • CrowdCompass could improve how people connect within the app
Due to its cost, CrowdCompass should be utilized for multi-day events and with large crowds.
