[Cvent Event Management] can be used org-wide, however usage is limited due to current support model internally. It is centrally managed but requires thorough onboarding and training which can be a significant barrier to wider adoption. We use their online registration and their virtual event platform. Online registration is nice but it is somewhat limited and some areas of the platform have been in need of improvement for a long time now. Simple things that could really help are not being addressed.

It is being used my certain departments (that are dedicated to client accounts) as needed. It addresses problems will centralizing and collecting data around meetings, contracting, and spend.

  • Customer Service: I've never had a great experience with my reps or calling in for assistance to customer service.
For the most part, I think Cvent is still the best product on the market. However, they are lacking in customer service with reps and when calling in for support. I think there are some areas that are glitchy that could be corrected.

The Cvent platform saved graduation! Our K-12 school operates in an ever-evolving atmosphere, and Cvent allowed us to pivot on a dime during the pandemic. We were able to grant a better than expected graduation experience to the Class of 2020 through the help of Cvent and Crowd Compass. We have upped our game in communicating with our participants registering several devices. We are kicking off the new school year with season ticket passes for sale through Cvent. We just finished up an elementary summer camp that consisted of over 113 different camp sessions. Our event manager was able to keep track of 5additional weeks of camps with over 113 sessions and 325 registrants. She loved the flexibility of OnArrival because she was able to register walk-ups on site. Our only issues we have with the platform is we are stretching the platform further than the platform can perform. We have minor children without email addresses, and that tends to confuse the parents who are trying to register these children for our events.

The Cvent Event Management is my company's current tool for the Client Support Services Department across all North American territories (4 - including Western, Central, Mid-Atlantic, and Eastern). This tool is being used by 3 super users who help train and guide other users on our team. In total, we have 10 users on our team and 2 support staff who know the system. The Cvent Event Management gives us ways to connect with clients, track their interest in events, collect and reconcile payment for events, and there are many stylistic tools available for the "look and feel" of an event. My company hosts between 150-300 events each year, ranging from 25-person professional learning opportunities (think "workshops") to 700-to-800-person multi-day conferences. All of these events are managed through the Cvent Event Management. Our marketing department designs the annual theme, color scheme, and marketing components for each of our event types. Our improvement services and professional learning staff craft the event descriptions. These parts and pieces are easily uploaded and useable in the Cvent Event Management right away. It is easy to create a template event, a template event email or session message, and to upload and utilize very targeted registrant lists to connect with clients and potential clients. There are fantastic reporting functions that serve all arenas, including transactions, participation, registration, attendance, and trending event types. Overall, it is easy to use, easy to learn, and can be leveraged to communicate effectively with external sources.

Cvent Event Management system has great functions for small-to-medium scale workshops and professional development or professional learning offerings. One-day to one-and-a-half-day conferences can get more cumbersome without proper training and planning. Two-day conferences require team help to accomplish, track, collect payment (especially if offline payments are made), and to foster along the way. Having pre-set marketing themes and pre-created event descriptions is a major help with the load of creating several events for a season. Cvent Event Management is well suited for following attendees along their journey in the system. You can see all touchpoints made with a specific attendee or registrant, and you can monitor trend data for certain institutions that show more interest.

Cvent is used throughout my company's Event Planning Department to source hotels and venues based upon our clients' needs. Cvent Event Management allows my team to do our work much more efficiently and seamlessly. We are able to contact a wide variety of venues all at once and deliver results to our clients in a timely fashion. Planning events and monitoring attendees is a breeze with the help of Cvent.

Cvent Event Management is well suited when it comes to sourcing events at venues or hotels. Finding the space to hold each event and delivering the specs to a variety of venues/hotels all at once makes sourcing 100x easier. I am able to save a tremendous amount of time versus having to contact each venue/hotel individually and find out if the space is available AND if the space can properly support event setup.

DMA has been using Cvent’s platform since 2013 including: Supplier Network, Event Management, OnArrival, and Inquisium. DMA also leverages the Salesforce integration and was the first Cvent client to implement Cvent’s native Zoom integration. We use it for events, webinars, and roundtable promotions, and registrations. We also use it for client trainings and distribution of CPE certificates.

Again, great for event registration and payment. It is so easy to use and makes conference organizers' lives easier. The bid process for other services is also really good. The only problem I have experienced is the departments are often siloed—each department does not seem to know the organization was already a customer.

Cvent is used by a few departments within my company. The software is used for big (over 3oo people) to small (6 people) events. Having one platform be your "home" for events has been a huge time saver for our company. Some of our events there is a fee associated with them, so Cvent can easily work with the marketing team and finance team to ensure we get our money! Additionally, we utilize reminder emails depending on a person's actions of the event. For example, if a person has looked at the event invitation but hasn't yet registered, we can send an email to them to remind them to register or ask why they aren't attending.

  • Have checks and balances.
  • Have a "what you need" to start your event.
Cvent is ideal for collecting information from the attendees coming to your event. The attendees could just be attending your event or taking an extra training session, Cvent allows you to supply tracks attendees can pick at registration which will allow them to go down the path that is ideal for them. Additional, if there is a fee or an extra step for one type of attendee vs another one, Cvent handles that seamlessly!

As stated previously Cvent [Event Management] offers everything needed for a successful event. The product sales itself, you just have to wise enough to utilize it.

We use Cvent Event Management to manage all our registrations for our public education programs. It is being used by our teams in APAC and North America (HQ). It helps us seamlessly manage registrations, receive, invoice and track payments in conjunction with Stripe.
  • Payment management - seamlessly integrates with our Stripe accounts
  • Registrations - collect participant information, payments, detailed reports for finance
  • Event Management - I like using the very convenient Cvent Event Management function for Supplier venue RFPs
  • Website and Email templates - Makes the creation of great looking websites and emails easy
  • Payments - Cvent Event Management is incapable of having more than one currency account active for an event. This would be useful as we have multiple currency accounts and our participants are from all over the world.
  • More intuitive reports or reports that capture all possible details from an event. As it is, I have to create more than 1 report if I need it to display certain types of information from a participant registration.
  • Integration with Netsuite and Hubspot is difficult to set up.
Cvent Event Management is perfect for all kinds of events. The recent upgrades and updates that make it easier to manage virtual and hybrid events have really helped us in recent times. The only caveat is that it is so powerful, packed with features and constantly upgrading that there is a high learning curve. I have been using it for almost 10 years and I'm still learning new things every day!

We use Cvent Event Management within our Marketing department. It is used primarily for our annual client conference event although there are potential applications for other events in the future. It's unlikely we would have it used throughout the organization as the Marketing department bares the responsibility for events within our company.
  • Intuitive interface: it's straightforward, and if you have questions, the help documentation is plentiful.
  • Organized: it helps keep complicated events and details organized in one system.
  • Registration: our event is a little complex, and we're able to handle multiple registration types and paths within the system.
  • Reporting: Sometimes the reporting doesn't hit on exactly what we need, or it's not exactly clear to understand.
  • Customization: Within some screens/modules, there could be some additional customization options
  • Spell check! In email builders, it would make proofing a lot easier
For our Marketing department, to put on a complex event the scale of what we do and with the limited staff we have to handle said event, Cvent Event Management helps serve as an additional member of our team. We don't have the bandwidth to handle manual tracking, and Cvent helps keep us organized and on track.

We have used [Cvent Event Management] for the registration at our annual conference and expo for several years. We also made good use of the crowdcompass mobile app, contracted through [Cvent]. This year, we used it to pivot to a virtual event and host the entire thing using [Cvent's] Virtual Attendee Hub. In the future we may be moving to hybrid events and will probably continue to use them for both.

As a registration platform, [Cvent Event Management] suits our one event per year model, the mobile app was useful, but did make our simple conference website a bit redundant. If you have a really extensive website in place for your event, [Cvent Event Management] may not provide a lot of extra value beyond streamlining and handling your registration. If you're hosting a virtual event, either be prepared to pay the high cost of their support services or be in an awkward position of being able to handle the technical aspects but having to jump through a hoop or two to get the small amount of support needed to troubleshoot small problems.

Cvent is used by many departments within the company including Medical Education, Meetings & Events, Audio-Visual, Videography, Culinary, etc. Mostly used for event management, registration, headcounts, space booking, and data collection. Cvent addresses the problem of not having everyone on the same page. The system allows anyone to log in and see all necessary information for each event in one place.

  • Data collection: quickly pull up historical data.
  • On calendar view when trying to click on an event sometimes pop-ups from other events prevent you from clicking on what you are trying to click on. it's extremely frustrating.
Collecting registration information and easily organizing it for us is much needed and Cvent does a great job of that. We need these for our events when we pull the registration list for multiple different reasons: create lab station assignments, provide headcount and dietary restrictions to culinary, and report the HCP spend.

Cvent has been a great attendee management tool for several of our larger learning management programs—the platform streamlines our registration and payment processes, builds in account security, and interfaces with an easy registration process for trainees. Separate events for private, public, and virtual training.Good for scheduling.
  • The platform is user-friendly. Without much training or experience, you can easily figure out how to create registration sites, set up reports, and manage meeting requests. The celebrity and community forum is very useful.
  • Cvent is able to manage events from end to end—from RFPs and budgeting to event registration and feedback surveys.
  • Cvent does a good job keeping up with the updated technology. They are constantly updating their system based on feedback they've received (enhancement requests) or industry changes.

Cvent Event Management is being used by my organization to create registration pages, manage different types of registrations (within the same event), and track attendance for various in-person events. It is being used primarily by the marketing department, but as the marketing department is in charge of in-person external events, the entire company makes use of it through them. It addresses the business problem of conveniently being able to collect and analyze registrant and attendee information for in-person events.
  • Cvent Event Management makes things easy for our customers, in terms of registering for an event, modifying their registration, and checking in at the event to attend.
  • Cvent Event Management allows for the export of registrant and attendee data.
  • Cvent Event Management allows for integration with other tools like HubSpot and CrowdCompass.
  • Cvent Event Management does not have the best user interface, and has a noticeable learning curve.
  • While one can download registrant and attendee data from Cvent Event Management, the report/data export tool is overly complicated compared to data exports from HubSpot or Qualtrics.
  • Setting up a new event can be a bit difficult, due to the user interface, and is more time consuming than it otherwise could be
  • In my experience, their customer service has not been particularly good. More often than not, when seeking help for technical issues, I've been left on hold for upwards of an hour at a time, and that has happened multiple times.
Cvent Event Management can be useful if a tool is needed to collect and track registrations and attendance for events. It would be less appropriate for online events, in my opinion, compared to designated webinar tools like On24. If one is less experienced with event management, Cvent Event Management may be less appropriate due to the steep learning curve and difficult user interface.

We use Cvent across the organization for registration, but select teams are also utilizing the budget and survey modules. We are saving time on data entry and will eventually save time and effort to pull Excel spreadsheet “reports” for that data.

CVENT is really great for any SMM program. In an age of tech that likely will not change, I can’t imagine not having a cloud-based tool for registration and all meeting info. Big and small events are a good fit for this platform.

We use Cvent Event Management from sourcing our meetings and events to planning events, to executing events to billing events! It is widely used by every department in our company. I specifically like Cvent for keeping my budgets in line from an initial budget to final budget. It's so easy to go into the tool and update everything and then be able to pull a report to send to my clients so they are always in the loop on what their spend looks like.
  • Training - Cvent always has training sessions to explain how to use the platforms
  • Communication - I get multiple emails on what is new and changing and how I can utilize their services within my company.
  • Ease of Use - Cvent is very easy to understand and use!!
  • When calculating tax in budgeting, sometimes the final numbers are off.
Cvent [Event Management] allows us to do our jobs in one tool, which is huge! We can do everything in one platform. When you have a questions about functionality or changes, there is an entire community that is available to walk you through any process or problem you are having. They give you the ability to ask any question and get simple answers in return that you will understand. Cvent really is a true "community" of users that are there for each other!

I use Cvent to gauge customer reaction to our loyalty program. It helps us to identify pain points and areas for improvement, while also measuring the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. It is an invaluable tool that is so user friendly, both for those using the tool on our end, but also for people responding to our engagements.

We use Cvent Event Management and the Cvent Attendee Hub in the conference department. It allows us to plan complex events, from governance meetings to statewide conferences. The challenges for us in particular were our complex registration paths and payment methods, such as group registrations with group payment + individual guests, or gating registration based on a membership status check with an integration to a third-party database. For the virtual events, which we pivoted to due to the pandemic, the challenge was to have a platform that was as simple as possible--a one-stop shop for the attendees.

  • Seamless integration between the event info for the website and for the virtual event platform
  • Readily available customer service
  • Steep learning curve--everything in one place means a lot of tools to learn at once
  • Some of the satellites tool, such as the Exhibitor Management Tool and Speaker Resource Center are small, standalone websites that need to be designed separately from the main event website--there was some repeated work to make it all look coherent.
  • All-in-one tool is super practical but it does mean that Cvent is often behind on features compared to the best in class companies that only do one thing but do it better.
Cvent Event Management is well-suited for complex events with lots of moving parts, such as a conference with a call for presenters, exhibitors, multiple types of registrations, lots of parallel tracks and sessions, etc. If you have a simple event with one type of ticket and the one main stage for the whole time, don't bother learning how to use Cvent Event Management and go with something more barebones such as Eventbrite.

We use Cvent's Event Management for managing our yearly internal conference. It's primarily used by me in our department, but reports are able to be access by non-Cvent users, which increases visibility into the event management process. It has tremendously streamlined our registration, mobile app, and onsite check-in/badge printing - and this year, we're planning to work with a few integrations that will allow us to fold travel and hotel stays into the process as well, giving us more consolidation of relevant information.

For us, it's perfect because it's an end-to-end platform. From venue sourcing to reports and ROI, Cvent allows us to do everything we want to set up the conference our attendees want. We've not yet tried it on a smaller scale (like with our regional holiday parties), but I imagine it'd work just as well. In my experience, it's just been more well-suited for larger events.

I have a love/hate relationship with Cvent Event Management. I've used several other event management tools and can say that Cvent Event Management is the most complete of any I've tried. It is a purpose-built software that serves its purpose well. However, it can be difficult to use.
