The Event in a Box system was very useful for registering attendees at a conference, and then being able to check them off and print their name badges as they arrived. The Lead Capture element worked well with this too, with the QR codes printed on their name badges providing the information needed.
  • Print name badges
  • Lead capture
  • Seeing who has arrived out of those registered
  • Tricky to upload attendees in the correct format
  • Logging in for the first time didn't trigger a password email
It is well suited for in person events - tracking the registrations beforehand and then when the event is happening checking people in, printing their name badges (that attendees can double check for any changes) and using those name badges for processing leads with the Lead Capture app.

The Cvent Event Management tool is being used across the whole organization to help set up virtual and in-person events with employees and clients all over the world. It's a powerful tool to maintain a clear record of who has registered for an event and who hasn't, allowing us to get clear reports for marketing use. So far, the only issues we are having are because our account is so big and we handle so many events at the same time (50+ per month), creating hundred of reports every months and importing as many contact groups (with thousands of contacts), documents and images, that it's looking a bit cluttered on the backend. Reports can be mass deleted, but documents, images and contact groups must be deleted one by one. Contacts, on the other hand, cannot be removed, even if they are no longer valid, so we need to merge the outdated contacts with each other to "delete" them
  • Send invitation to huge amounts of people
  • Making reports for easy access to the data
  • Allow integration with virtual platforms such as On24, Zoom and MS Teams
  • Session emails can't have multiple customized headers and footers
  • Widgets can't be easily duplicated across several emails
  • Some functions enabled for website design are not enabled for email design
  • Virtual session links cannot be imported
Cvent [Event Management] will be perfect for complex events where you have multiple sessions taking place across several days, as it will help you keep track of which session has each invitee selected. However, if you're planning on having a more informal type of event and just setting up appointments, or tentative answers, then you might have some difficulties and will need to use a few workarounds.

Cvent Event Management is a robust platform with a lot of different options for event management of all kinds. My organization utilizes its services to support in-person conferences and webinars throughout the calendar year. There are many options for building out the registration, developing the event's website and sending event-related emails to invitees and registrants.
  • Complete histories of attendance and email traffic with all parties associated with events
  • WYSISYG Website and Email platforms that are easy to use for those not familiar with HTML
  • Stored libraries of assets like speaker information and registrations questions that can be utilized across multiple events
  • More streamlined user interface
  • More flexibility for users that have better familiarity with HTML
  • Less clunky design tools within the pre-made widgets used in the web interface
We regularly utilize Cvent Event Management for our larger in-person conferences and it is extremely well-suited for this purpose. For smaller events it can be a little bit more cumbersome as there are so many features that go unused and just kind of gum up the works when you're looking to put together a small event site very quickly. We have also been utilizing Cvent Event Management to manage nominations for an exclusive event that we host. This has been a bit of a square peg/round hole thing as it's not what Cvent Event Management was truly designed for. We've tried a couple of their products for this purpose and have been utilizing the Abstract Management product for this purpose. It's not wholly ideal and can be a little clunky for our uses, but it has been a relatively successful solution.

My company uses Cvent to offer online registration for live, virtual and hybrid events.
  • Online Registration
  • Reporting
  • Marketing of Event
  • Emails to potential and registered attendees
  • Would like a better way to view Speaker Resource Center uploads.
  • Would like more flexibility in design of website and emails
Cvent Event Management is well suited for any event that wants to advertise the event, accept registrations, and communicate with prospective and registered attendees via email. Reporting feature is also very good. Cvent does have a bit of a learning curve and is not for the casual user.

I use Cvent Event Management to build and create conferences for professional development. I just learned how to set up the speaker website and have really enjoyed exploring all that it has to offer. The registration process is easy for attendees as well as in the back end. One thing I hope will improve would be the badges and certificates designer it is very hard to create them in this way, I prefer the way it is to design emails.
  • Integrations
  • Collecting data
  • Registrations
  • Needs to be a little easier to find your way around
  • Step by step navigation
  • Easier to follow
  • Badges and Certificates designer
I truly enjoy learning Cvent. I would hope that as you're using it, it gave better navigation as well as better ways to learn things. There is still so much I do not know that would be more helpful to find out how to use. Please update the way to design badges and certificates it is so hard to design them in the current designer.

We use Cvent Event Management to handle Boston Scientific's Strategic Meetings Management Program. We collect data on most meetings & events held at the company through Cvent. This allows us to collect multiple data points within Cvent in order to determine the amount of spend for meetings as well as who is holding them and when. We also use Cvent Event Management to collect meeting registration information.

Cvent Event Management is well suited for registration websites, registering meetings within Cvent, entering budgets and collecting data for an SMM program. From my experience, some products are not user friendly and take a significant learning curve to be able to use them. Cvent is trying to improve this.

We use Cvent Event Management for our annual in-person event and virtual master classes. It helps us with collecting registrations, and revenue, updating event information, email reminders, and surveys after the event take place. Our company requires a platform that hosts every aspect of the events we host from preplanning the agenda to invitations, to registration launches, to post-mortem feedback opportunities.
  • Clear display of agenda items
  • Easy-to-use attendee reporting
  • Quick weblink customization for marketing analytics
  • It's really difficult to know if an attendee actually showed up to the session
  • Subsequent surveys that are contingent upon attending the event are not possible. Only surveys to the general attendee list are possible (so you don't ever know if they attended)
  • Exporting reports or agenda items is not easy or sometimes possible.
  • The agenda builder / editor is very tedious and not as user friendly to an inexperienced user.
If you have an event with lots of attendees and are not issuing rigorous CE credit certificates then this will pretty much do everything you need it to do. However, if you have a lot of sessions over a period of a few days, the prepping of the agenda items is a long-winded process. The system is not as robust as it could be for events that require tweaking and tailoring. For example, you cannot copy and paste course descriptions without experiencing heavy code embedded in the syntax box. You have to copy/paste it into a notepad to erase the coding and only obtain the text. So, if your event shifts courses around or things need adjusting, this process takes much longer than it should. If you have a dedicated Cvent person on your team, this process shouldn't be an issue. Our team does not, so we have to constantly test and test and test our events before we launch.

We have been using Cvent Event Management for over 10 years to manage two types of events: our annual customer conferences (up to 400 people in-person and now hundreds of online attendees) as well as our smaller hands-on product training registration.
Cvent Event Management has continued to evolve their solutions to create an ever better registration experience for our customers. The platform has the tools we need to handle complex curriculum and now the extended needs for virtual and hybrid events.
  • Handling complex curriculum with a large number of attendees and sessions
  • Support the experience of both in-person and online attendees through the Attendee Hub and companion app
  • Reporting
  • Cvent team support is excellent
  • Waitlist management
  • Attendance management within the basic event management features (versus the need to go premium)
  • Some Cvent products aren't always well integrated with other Cvent products (appointments, speaker center)
Cvent Event Management has an excellent support team at all levels. This is extremely important to us, and it makes up for some of the occasional issues or feature unavailability.
Most of our events are not complex, but we host dozens of them each year and around the US. Cvent Event Management allows us to easily duplicate events.
For the more complex events we run annually, Cvent Event Management has all the tools we need to handle an experience both in-person and online with intricate curriculum and pre-event content.

I really appreciate all that this software can do for my events. It allows me and my team to use it as an overall project planning that seamlessly connects to other areas with timelines and real-time updates. I like the capability for virtual/hybrid and even some basic CRM along with marketing, revenue, and lead generation.
  • Project Management
  • Self Registration
  • Reports
  • Price Point
  • More robust CRM capabilities
  • More networking and scheduling options
This software is great and useful for programs with a good budget as it helps to streamline the many areas of the planning for educational and academic conferences, virtual seminars, workshops, and business meetings. The size of the event is not a limiting factor as the software can handle all sizes. In the other hand, it may be too expensive for smaller and more unique events with a focus on production and design.

We host an international event with around 2,500 attendees from over 50 countries every year - we require a registration platform that is fully multilingual, can handle taxes, discounts and a combination of online and offline payments, multiple registration types, adding guests, donations, optional items and sessions, produce complex reports, and so much more. Previously we had to create different registration processes for different members in various countries/languages, and our accounting team was having to do a lot more work to track purchases of various additional optional items.
  • Robust and flexible registration process
  • Relatively quick helpdesk
  • Updated website and registration builder is much more intuitive with a modern look
  • Robust Reporting capabilities
  • Fully Multilingual registration process (not just machine translated)
  • Expensive
  • Variable pricing structure meant to save money makes budgeting difficult
If you have an event with complex needs, you really can't beat Cvent. They've been in the game for a long time, and while there's other cool solutions up and coming to keep your eyes on, Cvent is still miles ahead. That being said, if you have a relatively simple registration or ticketing process, you can save yourself the expense and contracting headache and look elsewhere.

Within our department, it is used heavily as a communication and registration tool in event management. We use it for sending advertising emails and building registration and information websites for events with over 4,000 attendees from around the world. We use it for check in at events, to collect fees, and for data and statistic management after the events.
  • Provide design options
  • Easy-to-learn system
  • Sata and analysis
  • Managing all parts of an event in one system
  • Some products have too many features
  • Help articles are sometimes outdated
  • Phone app is outdated
Cvent Event Management is great for coordinating communication and registration associated with large events. You can send a variety of communications automatically with a range of triggers (at specific dates/times, whenever someone leaves a certain page, whenever someone registers, etc.) and because you can build using data tags, you can easily customize those communications for each recipient. It also allows for complex registration and payment processes with lots of design and function options. This is ideal for multi-day events, conferences, reunions, and workshops with a lot of people. It collects and easily displays tons of analytic details and makes them easy to review. For very small or simple events it is perhaps not worth the effort, but to manage the details of large and complex events it works wonderfully.

We use it to manage multiple events. The business problems I mainly focus on would be the onsite solutions within Cvent. But we use Cvent all the way from the registration website build, exhibitor management, crowd compass, mobile application, attendee hub, passkey, and OnArrival. It would depend on which services are contracted with the respective clients we have that would depend on what services we use within the platform.
  • Ease of use
  • Graphical interface
  • Reporting tools need a report builder functionality where we can build a report with any/all data points collected within Cvent and the ability to organize the data how we see fit.
  • Designer tools like badge designer need snap functionality to align fields more cleanly, also conditional text needs to include if/else conditions.
  • OnArrival needs to be more robust and capable of copying advanced logic for new registrations.
  • OnArrival needs to be able to also print tickets along with a badge

We produce hundreds of live, virtual, and hybrid events across the United States each year. This ranges from small, corporate meetings in hotel ballrooms to multi-day music festivals. We have used Cvent for in-person events prior to the pandemic, and we have been encouraging our larger clients to invest in Cvent as a long-term event management solutions for their live, virtual, and hybrid events moving forward. We enjoy the registration portal options, easy use on the attendee side of things, and customization options that Cvent offers.
  • Easy registration portal options
  • Great virtual event analytics
  • Better design/customization options for non-web designers
  • Stronger one-on-one customer training options
Cvent Event Management is especially ideal for organizations that host multiple events throughout the year. It's also ideal for organizations that are hosting conferences as the data management for live, virtual, and hybrid scenarios is impressive. I would not use the Cvent platform for one-off, smaller events.

We use Cvent to track attendees for all of our external client events, and many of our internal events. The platform makes it easy to have all of our data in one spot, so we can use that for customer analytics.
  • Attendee Management reporting
  • Easy and intuitive options to build registration websites
  • Meeting requests forms, that can be used for approval or review process when determining meeting relevance or importance
  • Cvent could improve on their mass update actions. Many times when something needs to be updated to a group, it's done individually.
  • In a recent update, some of the standard reports that appeared in all events were whittled down to templates. This allows more customization, but also takes more time to recreate in each event.
  • Increase the ability to test the website, survey and all elements without completing registrations.
I think Cvent Event Management is well suited for companies that need to show the ROI on marketing effectiveness etc. It's a great way to gather attendee information and keep it all centralized. It takes events up a notch with some very nice touches on the website aesthetic and onsite technology for ease of check in with On Arrival On Demand badge printing.

We use Cvent Event Management for sourcing and complete event management. We use the platform for attendee registration and management.
  • Allows our team to create templates to be used repeatedly, making registration website creation much easier.
  • Existing report templates and the ability to create or modify reports to pull the information that we need for specific reasons.
  • The ability to revise the website for specific meetings is awesome. I love that we can add additional questions for attendees to answer during registration -- saving us the time of having to follow up with each one individually afterward.
  • Allowing any report to pull in any text field
  • When canceling an event, allow the planner to turn off all future communications to attendees
I had a recent event where attendees for a focus group needed to pre-order their meals. I was able to work with the amazing Cvent help desk, and we set up a scenario where attendees would select to attend, and then the appropriate menu would pop up for them to choose their entree. It probably seems simple, but it saved me so much time.

We are an events and experiences company. We utilize Cvent Event Management every day for our event registrations. We have hundreds of events each year that require registration and Cvent Event Management is the platform that helps us complete this task. Without Cvent Event Management, our jobs would be much harder. They have been a good partner for us.
  • Easy event registration set-up
  • Tracks sessions well
  • Easy communication with attendees
  • Cvent Event Management has been down quite a bit in the last couple months.
  • The hotel registration feature is clunky. Needs improvement here.
  • Reporting could use some updates.
Cvent Event Management works well for most of our events. It does what it needs to do in getting all of our attendees registered and sessions selected. It seems to be pretty user-friendly on the user end. I can't think of any scenarios where it would not be appropriate in our line of business.

Cvent Event Management allows our organization to manage consistent, accessible, and user-friendly online event communication and registration. It allows our users a one-stop shop for all event information and our team can manage all of the data collection, analytics and reporting in one place, which increases our ability to offer engaging and successful events.
  • Online registration
  • Centralized reporting
  • One-Stop event information and access
  • More formatting options for invites
  • Additional design options
Cvent Event Management is especially helpful for complex events that have registration sessions, payment, accommodations, and speaker info. It may be less appropriate for very small personal events, in which a custom invite is most suited.

  • Keep event details organized.
  • Lets speakers input data, relieving time and tasks off your plate.
  • User friendly.
  • Purchasing license.
  • Getting in touch with team support.
  • Language barriers.

I use Cvent Event Management both firsthand and as a delegator. CEM allows us to seamlessly manage event metrics and communicate with our attendees in a polished and professional-looking way. In my current role, I don't actually get to use Cvent a lot. We have a team who builds events for us using Cvent, however, in my previous role I used Cvent every day so I have a decent amount of experience with the platform.
  • Attendee Management
  • Marketing emails
  • Ease of use
  • Hard to use sometimes.
  • Too many back-end settings.
  • Unable to move widgets around with ease.
  • Can't place widgets anywhere.
  • When building a page in another language it is very difficult as you don't have the same layout. Too much guesswork, especially with formatting.

We used Cvent Express for all of our in-person events as well as Webinars. Thanks to the WebEx integration. Most of the events we hosted were not large (i.e. we did not need to book hotels, have tickets for entry, etc.) so Express made the setup process quick and easy. After that was done, it also made registration, pre-event follow-up and post-event follow-up seamless.
  • Provides an easy way for guests to register for an event.
  • Invitation/Event Reminders Emails.
  • Being able to check attendees in/quickly pull a participant list.
  • The landing page build process could be more user friendly.
It worked very well for our small events. While I don't have experience using it in a larger capacity, having heard about all of its features I would think it would be a useful tool for conferences, tradeshows, etc. I have attended a conference where they used Cvent for registration and, from an attendee perspective, I had no issues.

  • Easy to set up and maintain events
  • Well designed site and widgets to personalize
  • Zoom integration - more seamless and integrated with the AttendeeHub Q&A/chat for speakers
  • Closed captioning added to video
Cvent Event Management is perfect for hybrid events abs virtual events! It makes the experience seamless for the virtual viewers. It makes them feel a part of the event! On the planner side, it keeps registrations organized and traceable. The metrics you get out of each event is also extremely helpful. Exhibitors virtual and in person also get great feedback and reports directly to high saves us a huge step.

I have used Cvent Event Management for 10 plus years and continue to use it. It has been pleasant to watch Cvent grow over the years. In my current role, I use Cvent Event Management for reporting and communications as well as Cvent on Arrival. I have been extremely happy with Cvent and the products that they offer and continue to offer.
  • Cvent on Arrival is easy to use and helps the onsite registration process move quickly.
  • Using the communications function of Cvent Event Management is easy to set up and use.
  • Conditional logic is an important part of my registration sites and Cvent Event Management's ease of set up removes the headache.
  • Report - The updated reporting function with Flex is at times frustrating or cumbersome.
Cvent's one stop shop provides everything you need for an event from inception. From site searches to post conference surveys, you can utilize it for all aspects of your event, whether onsite, virtual, or hybrid.
