Integrations with Master Data Management Platforms, Customer Data Platforms, and CRMs enable automated data updates and anomaly detection through the identity resolution engine. Territory Management Mainly. But also for account enrich, and contact enrich. We also have started to use the CDP (Visitor Intel) modules. D&B Connect has a ton of features that help research total addressable market based on a vast number of filter criteria. this includes revenue segment, geography, sector, industry, NAICS, as well as internal fields that can get mapped into D&B Connect.
  • Relationships between accounts in established - this includes DUNs with Immediate DUNs, as well as Domestic ultimate parent DUNs - this then extends to global ultimate parent DUNs
  • Visitor Intelligence - de-anonymizes visitors to your tagged websites. Provides for a way to understand clicks and footfalls within the web pages so that prospecting and customer service can be improved
  • Keeps account data real by providing near-real-time enrichment.
  • The data is sometimes stale and does not reflect the reality. I found that when contacts leave thier organization, the details are not updated
  • we have had some challenges in integrating the several modules with our CRM. also tracking credits across these modules is not intuitive
Account (Prospecting) management is great - also if you need to establish relationships between accounts / companies; Contacts data needs to improve. Instances of stale data and lack of mobile ph etc. is a bummer. Another thing is it is difficult to track monitor and manage credits (RUM, Account, Contact) across the various platforms.

We are currently using D&B Connect for account level information to integrate to our customer database to populate firmographics. We found that other companies information was less trustworthy than Dunn and Bradstreet and decided to segregate the data between two sources: Firmographics and Demographics. D&B Connect was used as Firmographics as we found their information the most accurate.

We found that Dunn and Bradstreet has a very supportive team that has helped in our implementation and continue to answer our questions on the correct way to implement including questions of records under management which is the main cost driver after implementation. The data is pretty complete and we can insert a snapshot of what information they have on companies into our systems.

Our data is riddled with missing attributes or incorrect values. D&B Connect helps to provide an easy and straightforward way for me and other members of my team to cleanse our data to a standard that matches our data governance expectations.

  • There are tons of data attributes. It would be nice if there was a more straightforward way to sort through them to make sure you have all the right ones for your search.
Any scenario where core data is accurate but supplementary data is missing or inaccurate, D&B Connect is a great tool that would add value to any organization in their efforts to maintain high quality master data. It wouldn't be as useful in a situation that's very niche to a particular industry such as FDIC or NCUA codes for US banks and credit unions.

We currently use Connect for the granular batch matching capabilities that other solutions cannot support. This is primarily useful for companies such as ours whose growth strategy is largely M&A focused. For us, the ability to quickly determine the corporate identity of the acquired companies' customers in order to differentiate between existing and net-new customers is invaluable during both the due diligence period as well as post-acquisition integration.

Already given well suited scenarios. Less well suited would be in situations with incomplete or lower quality starting criteria and multiple candidates would need to be evaluated to determine the "correct" match rather than the one D&B chooses to be the best out of a bad lot.

It is well suited if you need company details. D&B Connect is used to get the company address, company employee strength, the domain of the organization, and its size. These parameters are necessary for us to take some of the decision-making questions. D&B Connect is a market leader in this regard and quite resourceful and useful for this activity. It's not well suited if you are looking to get contact information for the company or any of its branches.

I use DBC to research companies, understand principals, understand what the internal networks might be, and use it as a base start for potential contact information.

We Used D&B mainly for sales intelligence, we used this tool to find people who had the intention of taking services similar to what we offer. We used the tool to search people mainly in the US and India. The main problem is the reach the right people at the right time, D&B helps in identifying them, this narrows down the number of people we need to approach to make our pitch. I guess they use cookies to identify the people from companies who search the net for particular services and thus letting us know the intent to buy.
  • Searching people who have the intent to buy your services or products.
  • It has as very good filter that helps pinpoint your targeted audience.
  • It has a large pool of contacts within the company, so helps to reach out to the right person via several connections.
  • The data available is fresh and current.
  • Further breakdown of industries can be done.
  • Executives who are decision makes can be indicated in a better way.
  • Too expensive.
It is best suited when you don't want to just spray and pray kind of a scenario, this helps in targeting just the right people for making a sale. You can search people based on industry, function, level of seniority, geography, designation, etc. Mostly there are no scenarios where it is not appropriate in particular, if you don't want buyer intent data then in that case it is expensive and you can look for other options.
