Dashlane to the rescue!

Rating: 8 out of 10
October 16, 2019
My company uses Dashlane to store and manage hundreds of sensitive data points from passwords to credit card numbers. The Dashlane app is used by our top-level employees based upon their access needs. This application addresses the problems created when there is not a universal management solution for company passwords. These problems include low-strength passwords, lost passwords, and the sharing of passwords insecurely.
  • Dashlane does a great job of detecting the password creation process on new websites and prompting users to store the data on the app. This saves a lot of time and eliminates the need to remember to save passwords manually.
  • Dashlane syncs well across devices. That password you created using your laptop is immediately available on your smartphone app without the need for double entry.
  • The Dashlane application provides a variety of data save types beyond just passwords. You are able to save account information, payment methods, and personal data in a categorized way.
Cons
  • Dashlane can be frustrating to use on my Mac. There are often times where the app is open but simply will not display the dashboard. I am forced to close the app and relaunch it to gain access. Support has been unable to fix this for me.
  • There are times where Dashlane tries to interact with a web form that it should not interact with. It feels like it is getting in the way and hindering the form completion rather than helping with efficiency. Better detection of form types would be a big improvement.
  • Refining the way that Dashlane deals with replacement/updating passwords would be a welcome improvement. It is very easy to get duplicate entries into the system so that you have 2 or more logins to a website to choose from even though only one of them is current.
Dashlane is well suited for a company or individual who likes to stay organized and is willing to take the time to really make sure they are using the application as it is supposed to be used. It has a learning curve. In a scenario where a company just wants to start throwing passwords and logins into an app and expecting everything to run smoothly, Dashlane would not be a great fit.

  • more items that passwords can be secured with this product.
Cons
  • An easier way to share information between users

In small businesses, it is a great product for sharing between users security information. I don't know how well it might work in very large organizations.

It's a fundamental part of our everyday work life. We log into countless servers and machines where unique and complex passwords are a necessity. Dashlane Password Manager allows us to securely store all of them without any worry of causing damage to our system through viruses, malware, or hackers. The secure notes feature is a highly utilized feature as well.
  • Creates unique and complex passwords
  • Facilitates using complex logins across different domains and across countless servers.
  • Secure notes allow for important yet controlled information to remain locked down and protected.
Cons
  • There is not really an room for immediate improvement as it does everything we need out of it and more.
Creating complex passwords is fantastic and very easy to manage. If you need them to be more complex, there is an easy to use slider. Or maybe you want to include symbols or have no repeated characters. There is a way to fit it to your company's needs very easily.

Dashlane Password Manager is undeniably helpful in our clinic. It's a private clinic so it is most certainly a business. There are passwords that need to be saved for both cases. The first being the clinic as a place of providing therapy, so there are always going to be new passwords needed. Whether it is insurances or portals for providers, we need Dashlane Password Manager to keep track of it all. Similarly, it is a private business. We have all kinds of password needs for that, government (local, state, federal), social media, payroll, the list goes on. At the end of the day we require a vault for all of those instances, all of the spheres we revolve around. Dashlane Password Manager delivers that vault consistently and efficiently. It is built into our browsers for ease. It is secure with each step it takes to verify we are the only ones accessing our browsers, in an unobtrusive way. All in all, I'd recommend Dashlane to any business or clinic.
  • Secure vault
  • Efficient interface
  • Ease of access
Cons
  • Choice of non-browser heavy implementation
  • Tweak how extensively it associates passwords
  • Desktop app
If it is a colleague, they already know just how useful a password manager in general is. The amount of websites, interfaces, and logins we need to keep track of would be impossible without something that keeps it all together. Not only that but securely is the big ticket. Anyone who works even adjacent to any clinic like care will agree, passwords need safe and easy storage.
