  • I learned so much from this instructional exercise, and I appreciated how the educator is an expert all-day colorist.
  • The section on sound reduction was particularly instructive. I noticed a few inconsistencies between certain methodologies in this instructional exercise and approaches suggested in the Advanced Color Grading in Resolve 15 instructional exercise (e.g., where to place sound reduction in the hub tree), but this is to be expected given that there is no one right way to do any of this.
  • I also learned a lot about Resolve's "Restoration" modules for working with authentic film. This instructional exercise will come up again and again in my work.

  • Bringing all our video development inhouse has helped us save over $9,000 annually. And a huge part of doing it successfully has been because of DaVinci Resolve.
  • In our first year, we pivoted between DaVinci and Adobe for which would be our primary video production software. The results of both test runs showed that DaVinci needed half the total time investment needed to take a novice through training to completing their first major project when compared to Premiere.
  • DaVinci's hardware requirements were higher than what we mostly had, so we have had to invest more in better equipment to be able to execute. But overall, it's still a significant positive net return when we consider how much we have saved and earned directly as a result.

  • Davinci Resolve allows us to make quick edits and improve the sound on our company webinars and demo videos. This adds a lot of polish, and since we can do it in-house, it's cheaper and allows us to post and share those videos quickly.
  • We've used the software for some flashier marketing videos, and that does drive some positive attention and business our way. Most of that higher-level work is handled by outside agencies, but the fact that we can do some of it in-house saved us money.

  • The software is free (hardware is optional). I love that the company is great at getting you in the door at no cost.
  • I was able to get all of my dialogue recording done in a month with no hiccups.
  • Blackmagic (the parent company) is great at getting back to you quickly when you have questions, which in turn saves me time and money.

  • DaVinci Resolve has resulted in a lot of happy customers. When comparing revisions to the visual style of projects, a client 9 times out of 10 prefers the look of a video from Resolve.
  • DaVinci Resolve has had a positive effect on the users in our organization. Color-correction can be done in a fraction of the time with more accuracy, helping us feel less pressure when approaching deadlines.
  • DaVinci Resolve has helped on our bottom line as we do not need to license multiple users, and often the free version of the software is more than enough to achieve the final product we are looking for.

  • All media delivered that is produced by internal personnel is of, at least, a basic standard which means that the business comes across in a more professional way.
  • Media personnel are able to spend less time on doing basic editing tasks and are able to spend more time on designing high impact videos.
  • Customers are left with a better impression of the company when they have seen any of our videos due to the high standard presented.

  • The ROI was well worth it. Our videos have never looked better.
  • Color Correction has also taken us less time than before. It's been fantastic.
  • Making videos faster and better looking is a definite win-win!

  • We received dongles for Resolve when we purchase BMCCs for work, so it was an easy choice to work with Resolve for us. Buying the software outright might be different.
  • Resolve allows for professional coloring work, which means you can tell clients you can have the specialized software used to create custom looks for their videos. This is a huge benefit.
