The Dell X1052 switches are primarily used in server rooms to provide network connectivity to all the servers within a rack space. Users have chosen these switches because they are compatible with Dell servers and offer a cost-effective solution. One of the common use cases for the Dell X1052 switches is to replace aging HP ProCurve switches in networks that use a single VLAN.

These switches come equipped with four SFP ports that support 10GB/s Ethernet, although they are currently uplinked on 1GB/s wired connections. Users have praised Dell's support for their quick next-day advance shipments and minimal downtime in case of device failure. To ensure compatibility, it is recommended to use Dell-branded SFP adapters for the SFP ports as pre-made 10GB SFP cables from other brands may not be compatible.

The Dell PowerConnect line of switches, including the 5500 series and N2000 series, have been widely used in organizations for several years. Their versatility and easy management through a web interface make them suitable for various clients. These switches have been utilized in VOIP and camera implementations, providing good support and cost-effective solutions. They offer stable and reliable network connectivity, easy management, and effective secure connections for businesses. For example, Vivo's Infrastructure team has praised Dell PowerConnect switches for their affordability and support.

In addition, Dell PowerConnect switches are seen as a cheaper alternative to Cisco switches while offering similar solutions for mid-sized businesses. They are often used for core and secondary switching in networks as well as in small and medium-sized data center deployments. For LAN connectivity, the Dell PowerConnect N2000 series switches provide high-performance switching and good security features. Customers appreciate how easy these switches are to set up, along with the helpful manuals provided by Dell and the outstanding support they receive. Overall, Dell PowerConnect switches are widely regarded as reliable and high-performing options for LAN connectivity and are the primary switches used in many networks.

We have implemented Dell PowerConnect 5500 series switches to various clients ranging from 5-500 endpoints. They are versatile and easily Managed though the web interface. We have also implemented the 5500P services for VOIP implementations and camera implementations. Dell Support for the switch series is very good when needed. The switches are work horses for cost conscience clients.

When it comes to performance and functionality, they are pretty good. Dell PowerConnect Switches is cheaper compared to other similar systems but it offers the same solution that is needed in our organization. It is perfect and suitable for midsized businesses and a very good and secure alternative for Cisco switches.

Our strategy is to use 10/100/1000 manageable switches with POE technology for the access topology. We have used the Dell EMC PowerConnect N2000 series of switches to connect devices such as phones and access points and corporate workstations. The switch is very low cost and has much essential management functionality, layer 2 as well as layer 3 with static routes. The 10GbE SFP+ ports we use to interconnect to other racks and to the distribution switch. The switches helped us solve connectivity issues in the different rooms.

We've been using Dell PowerConnect switches in our data center for more than 5 years now and so far we are very impressed with its speed and performance. It provides very good security for our network. Another important thing to note is that it is very simple to set this up and the manual provided with the device is superb. The support we receive from Dell is outstanding.

Dell PowerConnect Switches are used in small and medium-sized data center deployments, primarily for SMB clients. In some cases, PowerConnect is used for ISCSI storage networks that are isolated from other production environments. Dell's competitive advantage is phenomenal ProSupport (technical support) and reliable firmware. My organization also actively deploys Cisco, Meraki, and HPE/Aruba switches.

Currently, Dell X1052 switches make up the majority of my core switch rack for my server and desktop connections. We have 7 switches in three racks and they replaced aging HP ProCurve switches. Our network is relatively simple and uses a single VLAN, so the use of the internal management interface was only used to set a static IP. They have 4 SFP ports that will support 10GB/s Ethernet, but we're uplinked on 1GB/s wired connections. I use Dell due to the cost, the warranty/support, and years of previous experience with Dell's networking hardware. Across 20 years of using their network hardware, they have proven to not only be reliable but extremely cost-effective compared to competitors with similar traits. Their support has also been really great with next-day advance shipments means we have minimal downtime in the event one or more devices fail. I have absolutely zero hesitation in recommending their products to anyone interested. One item of note, their SFP ports may require having Dell-branded SFP adapters, as we found pre-made 10GB SFP cables for an HPE switch were not compatible. From what I've been told by support representatives, this isn't unusual with several vendors so now we know to order those specifically in the future.

I have been using Dell [PowerConnect] Switches for about 7 years in virtually the entire organization. They are robust equipment that leave nothing to be desired for your competitors, their functionality allows me to create multiple security layers with Vlans, access tracking with radius and so many other features.

Dell Powerconnect Switches are used by Vivo's Infrastructure team for access and distribution. These are well-priced and cost-effective switching technologies. We use the 24 access door models, 1524 and the 48 access door model, 1548. Both have up to 10GB uplinks on SFP + port. They are great switches with good support too.
