As with all servers, if you know what you are doing you will be just fine with the Dell PowerEdge R. They are easily maintained, serviced, and upgraded. The IPMI interface is also great.

The Dell PowerEdge R range is just intuitive when you have skills engineers managing them in-house, although even with new members of staff on the team, the learning curve is very low providing they have previous general service hardware management experience. From the specification through to the management of this range, the usability is excellent.

Dell's PowerEdge line does not deviate from standard enterprise architecture norms and those that are familiar in this field will have no issues adjusting to this environment. While some aspects of the ecosystem are highly proprietary (e.g. management tools), the learning curve is not difficult and should also not cause any problems.

Usability of Dell servers on high level. They work fine with different operation systems like MS or Linux.
DRAC management GUI is handy and provide good access to every day maintenance. Monitoring, logs and notification are well suited for the current model of support. You can easily monitor all server components, storage, performance, power supply, and temperature, etc.

Most of our applications are on-premises thus computer servers are an essential part of the IT infrastructure, we use Dell PowerEdge Servers to keep our applications and VM systems running, control our domains, storage, and permissions, connects our users to the clouds and to the internet, they connect all network elements with each other, they are highly usable and we can't run the IT infrastructure without them.

Since these servers use Intel processors they can be used very extensively i.e. as Physical Hosts for VMs running Hyper-V, VMware, Linux, Microsoft Windows, Nutanix HCI etc. They are also certified by many software vendors and can thus be used in many environments from the branch office requiring entry to mid-level performance to enterprise workloads. Once it has been sized correctly, you can't go wrong with this server.
