Users praise Discord for improving communication in the workplace, enabling fluid and streamlined interactions. The ease of connecting and communicating with different groups is another standout feature, making it convenient for organizing gaming meetups, social events, sharing resources and memes, and creating communities of like-minded individuals who can exchange interests and organize meetups. Discord's video chat and streaming capabilities have proven valuable in learning workshops, where screen sharing facilitates teaching sessions for audiences. It is also being used by employees for internal project communication as well as by companies with independent teams aiming to simulate a real office environment. Utilized by remote workers, Discord enables fast and effective communication between teams and groups no matter their location. With its inclusive nature, Discord allows users to connect with others, find creative communities, network, and create a sense of community through feedback requests and support channels. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic's remote work shift, Discord was easily deployed within 24 hours without extensive training requirements. It is lauded for its comfortable interface that helps IT teams stay connected and offers seamless daily communication through file sharing and lag-free screen sharing. Whether facilitating large-scale conference administration or serving as a hub for project management and interdepartmental conversations, Discord proves itself as a versatile tool for organized collaboration on various projects in different industries. Users appreciate how it makes text-based and audio-based communication effortless between groups of people regardless of their geographical location or time differences.

They expressed satisfaction with the quality and reliability of these communication features, noting that they experienced minimal disruptions or dropped calls during their usage. This stability contributed to effective remote team communication and enhanced productivity.

Lacking Aesthetics: Several reviewers have expressed disappointment with the visual design of Discord's user interface, particularly considering its target audience within the gaming community. They feel that the interface could benefit from a more appealing and modern look.

Notification Setups: A number of users have experienced issues with message notifications due to inadequate setup options, resulting in missed messages. Some users have mentioned that they did not receive timely notifications for new messages or mentions, leading to difficulties in staying updated on conversations.

Difficulties Adding Specific Users: Some users have struggled with adding specific individuals to a server, possibly due to functional limitations within the application. They have reported encountering challenges while trying to invite or find specific users by their usernames or email addresses. This can be frustrating when trying to connect with friends or colleagues on Discord.

Our team uses Discord for both project and interdepartmental communications - essentially as an alternative to Slack. Discord allows us to keep our conversations organized by topic or project, and serves as a great point of reference when we need to catch someone up to speed on a project or topic.
  • HD Video Streaming
  • Organization
  • Keeps It Fun
  • Integrations
  • Notification Customization
  • Muting Customization
Our creative production team has found Discord to be an invaluable resource when conducting live editing sessions. The ability to screen share in 1080p at 60fps allows producers and editors to remotely collaborate in real time. While the platform is primarily meant for the gaming crowd, we've been able to use Discords superior streaming capabilities to Slack to our advantage.

We are having a community of more than 3000 on Discord where we have different channels for different topics or tech .We have different bots to automate every thing. For a community to serve the members is the big priority so it is serving that for us ,as the community helps to grow our business.
  • We have implemented different roles to everyone so they can access that part only
  • We have used bots to automate things like greeting of every new member.
  • Different channel feature of Discord is really helping a lot to us
  • It has server limit on free version which could be increased
  • It has many spammy links so their should be some protocol for it
  • Some more free themes could be provided
For managing the community we need a proper platform so it makes a base for the firm so anyone can make proper channels and we can implement different bots on it like music bot, greet bot , rule assign bot named Carl bot ,etc.

Before we started using Discord, communication in our work environment was not as fluid, and we did not have so many communication tools in our favor; in any case, we had to use communication applications that were completely outdated and outdated, or that simply did not meet the standards to be able to implement them in a calm and prolonged way in our work and internal communication. In addition to this, thanks to Discord, we have been able to create a community of our company with our clients, getting closer to the end user and potential new users, creating a brand union with them.
  • Easy and simple file sharing.
  • Voice and video call channels with great stable performance.
  • The possibility of adding very useful and varied bots on servers for communities or work areas.
  • Great security.
  • The support is not the best in the world, and sometimes it is not up to what the user expects.
  • Very low file transfer limits.
  • Initial setup a bit messy.
Personally, Discord is a great tool to create online communities for your company or product, especially when our target audience is young. I would not consider it appropriate to use this tool for people over a certain age, nor would it be suitable for companies of considerable size.

I use Discord for my daily communication. I use it to share files and for sharing screens. Discord is great because it lets you connect with people in other countries without any experience of lag. You can create as many channels as you want and invite other people. And there is a direct message feature for private messaging.
  • Community Support
  • Pricing
  • Screensharing
  • Voice Quality
  • Beautiful UI
  • File Sharing
  • Reporting messages feature
  • Deleting multiple messages at once
  • Shareable file size limit
Discord is a great platform for communication with people online. You can have video chat, voice chat, or text chat on your preference. And Discord does these beautifully, it's easy to use with its basic interface. I dislike that we can't delete multiple messages at once. Also, you can't report specific messages.

Discord is a great place for fans to connect, hold polls, contests, make announcements, and the like. I use it, in particular, to notify fans when I'm about to go live, when I'm marketing something, and when I need to check in with my moderators off steam. I also use it to connect to other streamers in the community.
  • Connecting fans.
  • Organize the chat.
  • Notify community members.
  • Create video and audio calls without giving out personal information.
  • Recovery when servers are down.
  • Better Nitro Deals.
  • Better bot enabling for going live - Slow sometimes or doesn't work in certain discords.
It's really created when you want to voice something to many people at once without being a massive mess of a chat room. It's a great place for people to find support without having personal information involved. It's limited sometimes with certain features at the free limit. I wish there were more tips from the company as to how to grow Discord and best practices.

I use Discord to connect with one on one calls, screen sharing, and even sharing any types of files I needed. It proved to be quite useful since I can connect with people in any country without any net lag.
  • Has 1080p screensharing
  • Easily usable
  • Interactive UI
  • Automatic region detection can be improved
  • Screen sharing needs to be improved
  • Loading is a bit slow
I have been using Discord for my office uses like screen sharing, file sharing, and even speaking with an individual person. Discord can also be used to have a video call with team members

We use it as a communication tool to ask for feedback and support people with [their] problems. It's also an amazing place to just chill and get to know each other some more. You could hop in a call or game [together] because discord is all about bringing people and community closer [together]. And that's what we do.
  • Voice calls are high quality
  • Screen sharing is good quality
  • The option to change people there permissions is very usefull
  • a way to report people in the app itself should be added
  • you can only get in 100 servers and with nitro (discord premium) you can get in 200
  • you can't mute a person for x amount of time
Whenever you wanna call somebody while working or doing something on a different program is very easy if you use discord. You can also use it for gaming sessions or to give lessons if you're a teacher. Discord is for a lot of things the perfect tool. Even for listening to music [together]

We started to use Discord all across the whole organization right when Covid19 forced every company to work from home. This platform was easily deployed within the first 24 hours and required almost no training. It's now our main application for internal communications. We set up every team/department on both, text and voice channels.
  • individual or group audio / video calls
  • screen sharing
  • Send attachaments
  • attachment size (free version)
  • Searching text or images in DM
  • Color adjustments for the camera in video calls
One-click access to the voice channel for a quick meeting with the team. No need to schedule or program meetings. One general message is enough to bring every member of the team together in a second. Saves a lot of time and has all the required features to allow a complete demonstration

We use discord for our gaming meetups and social events. I have joined various hobby and interest channels and love how easy it is to use. We use the voice chat for our gaming nights, and don't really have any problems with sound and setups, it just works well. We share our resources and memes. Some channels we use to create a community of like minded individuals, a space where we can share our interest and organize meet ups. The video chat and streaming works well in our learning workshops, and can teach our audience through screen share.
  • video chat with team - screen share
  • text chat with multi channels and hastags
  • control over roles and members
  • sharing files and resources with team members
  • Interest groups and hobby community building
  • change profile name /details for different channels
  • how to find other communities
  • getting mass adoption - business clients don't use discord
Discord is great for communities and teams. Especially around hobby and interests, such as gaming. The only reason why I don't see it being used in a business environment, is that businesses have so many other options already in place, like Zoom, Google Meets, Slack, etc. The best thing Discord is best for is voice over for gaming. It's also cool to socialize with like minded communities in voice or share thoughts and ideas in text.

Ever since the pandemic started, the whole company switched to Discord for internal communication. Especially in companies that have small independent teams, discord rooms act like real office rooms.

That way, every team can act like they are in a real office. Voice calling, screen sharing, and team rooms are the main reason why Discord is so appealing.
  • Chat Rooms for Inter-team communications
  • Screensharing
  • High video quality
  • The app can use a lot of CPU and (interestingly) GPU. This has been a long lasting issue and has improved a little lately.
  • Fullscreen mode can be hard to navigate.
I'd suggest Discord to any colleague or friends as it's both good for professional communication and casual communication.
During the pandemic, I'd stay in my company's server and my team's room. In the evening, we would meet with friends again on Discord instead of siting alone during the lengthy lockdowns everyone experienced.

In our company, Discord is used to communicate between employees. It is very convenient that only a browser is required to use it. Discord is well suited for simultaneous communication with a large number of people because [it] allows you to have a conference "administrator" and other useful things.
  • Simplicity and ease of simultaneous communication of 5+ people.
  • It is possible to "administer" the conversation.
  • The ability to work through a browser makes it easy to use Discord on a wide variety of operating systems without any problems.
  • Through Discord, even through the paid version, it will not work to transfer huge files in size some Gb.
  • The Android client still has problems on many smartphones.
Discord is a simple and convenient software product for communication. Discord has clients for Windows and Android, it is also possible to work through a browser. However, it is absolutely not suitable if you need to transfer large files.

Currently Discord is only being used by my department but we've found it to be an excellent communication tool. Because we minister to primarily young people, 12-18, Discord is a platform that many of our students are already on. We use Discord as a communication tool for specific groups; small groups, leaders, age ranges of students, etc. and are easily able to connect and communicate with these groups whenever we need.
  • Discord allows easy setup of servers for specific groups.
  • Discord allows one-on-one private messaging as well as group communication.
  • Discord is easy to install and setup for any age group.
  • Because Discord has been used primarily by the gamer community it sometimes lacks in aesthetics.
  • Sometimes, without proper notification setups, some messages may be missed.
  • Occasionally it's been a struggle to add specific users to a server.
Discord is a phenomenal tool for communication, especially when dealing with a younger demographic. With the ability to create servers, specific rooms, and to voice chat, Discord is really flexible. Because it's used primarily by the gaming community, sometimes it lacks in a professional presentation and can seem a bit more casual.

Discord makes text and audio-based communication between groups of people extremely easy. We use discord weekly for meetings and to communicate on various projects and social interactions.
  • Free plan is perfect for most people.
  • Audio quality is decent.
  • Chat works well and has lots of customization.
  • Dark theme is easy on the eyes.
  • Sometimes communication is laggy.
  • Speech detection is delayed and doesn't work well.
Discord is an excellent platform when you need rapid communication and feedback in either work or social environments. Discord is superior to voice-only conference calls because the chat can be utilized to provide links to additional resources or to share imagery. Discord doesn't have the video capability that other meeting apps have, but for audio/text only it works perfectly.

Discord is being used for internal communication between employees about the projects we are developing. We use channels divided by projects so that information is grouped and organized. All employees work remotely and Discord has become a great ally for us to discuss aspects of each project with each responsible team.
  • Team meetings.
  • Channel separation.
  • Individual conversations.
  • Sometimes we have problems with the audio in the voice channels.
I believe that Discord is quite suitable for use within the company, especially companies that are 100% remote. The division by channels provides easy access to information regarding each project. Individual conversations also facilitates communication between company employees. Permission levels also help a lot with each project's level of confidentiality.

Since lockdown in the UK we implemented Discord to give us a fast and effective way to communicate between teams and groups. Discord allows us to jump straight into voice chats in meeting rooms and share content. Perfect for fast efficient design meetings. As we are all working remotely it was the ideal tool to bring us together, and while we are now can visit our office we still utilise it for some remote workers.
  • Streaming Live Desktops to share content
  • Individual Groups for Different Parts of the company
  • Voice Chats
  • Seperate Meeting rooms
  • Ability to keep yourself online without the app timing you out, this can't be changed
  • Auto Unmuting
  • Integration with other services and applications
Discord is an excellent way of keeping your team together and have team discussions when remote working is taking place. It brings all parties together and works extremely well. Even if a user is on the road the mobile app allows you to still be part of the conversation. Users felt integrated into the company as we can start chats at any point and simulates the office environment.

Discord is used within the IT team. It is used to help us stay in contact. There are a few other messaging apps that we use (Teams, Slack) but Discord feels very comfortable and familiar. The ease of use that Discord provides is great. It is also very nice to have during the pandemic because it is an easy way to keep in touch with your friends and family.
  • Messaging is amazing
  • Fun little perks
  • Easy to use
  • Random call quality drops
  • Access to more emotes without paying
  • More color schemes
Discord may a little less professional when it comes to a professional setting, but everything else about it is just so easily accessible that I would not mind using it in a professional setting. Discord is just extremely easy to use. It has made pandemic a lot less stressful because i do not have to scramble to find ways to talk to friends. Being able to jump in and out of a call is an amazing feature.

Discord is a great way to connect with others. As a freelance artist, I am able to find and connect with creative communities for networking and strategic purposes. Especially in this time of global pandemic, it makes communication and idea sharing easy. I use it both for business and personal uses.
  • Organizes groups of people
  • Promoting ideas and strategies
  • Growing a brand
  • Could use more customizable features such as alerts
  • Search function is not the best
Discord is great for promoting a brand's awareness and engaging new users. Recently, I helped on a campaign for Energi cryptocurrency, and Discord provided an awesome environment for bringing in new users and promoting the brand. We were able to share creative memes, 'birthday cards', and the company could even share the coin among active users. It was a unique application of Discord that I was very impressed with.
