What is DiscoverOrg (discontinued)?

DiscoverOrg was a sales and marketing intelligence tool used by technology vendors, staffing companies and consultants targeting IT, finance, marketing, engineering, technology and product development departments of Fortune-­ranked, mid­-market, and SMB companies in North America and Europe. DiscoverOrg specialized in mapping out org charts, including verified email addresses, direct-dial phone numbers, reporting structure, new projects and initiatives, and technology installed base.

ZoomInfo Technologies (formerly DiscoverOrg, which acquired and merged with ZoomInfo in 2019 and now operates under the ZoomInfo brand) has since combined all of the capabilities of the DiscoverOrg sales intelligence database into its flagship product, ZoomInfo. Readers interested in the DiscoverOrg database should investigate the ZoomInfo product instead.

  • With utilizing triggers and OppAlerts you are able to target companies when they are opening the buying window, increasing lead efficiency.

  • I would have to come back in 6 months or so to provide this information. I'm not sure how much ROI we have received in our sales dept., but marketing probably has seen great ROI in building email campaigns.

  • I have been able to get through - and have meetings with (or through) CxOs at some of the nations largest companies. This has led to RFPs and/or solution presentations with major airline and automobile manufacturers, the largest of regional banks, and many others in the Fortune 100 space. This is also true for mid-market and smaller enterprise opportunities.
  • These meetings have resulted in significant revenue for my self and teams that I have led. In other cases, it was a huge shot in the arm for our brand awareness!
  • I have personally benefited from increased vertical and org chart knowledge.

  • Our new sales team has had a 70% or higher success rate of lead conversion.
  • We have expanded our sales team this year and now most of our guys are receiving specially designed lead lists monthly for potential new clients and they are finding more success with that than any we've received from expos etc.

  • Definitely increased efficiency - it provided one stop shopping for all our research needs
  • Faster lead conversion for sure - we were able to get pitches and background packets done quicker allowing us to close deals faster
  • Attorneys were our customers and they were always happy with turnaround times which was helped by DO
