Honestly, I am quite happy with my current services with D&B Hoovers. There are some challenges, but more on my end. The company is so big that I cannot necessary make any decisions for the platform on behalf of the whole company. In addition, we potentially have deals in other countries and I was told that we might get one centralized account. Unfortunately, the company is so big that I wonder if this might have been pushed aside. Therefore, I cannot do anything to improve things and when I do reach out on a global scale, it feels like it gets brushed away.

Many consultants in our company look for a new chaselist whenever they start or are looking to expand into a new market. The D&B Hoovers tool helps a lot when it comes to this. In addition, there are requests that want to see how the market is broken down per industry and we tend to use Hoovers's data as a benchmark to see if it would make sense with our specialties.

Good system for an affordable price vs the competition. It does find some good D&B Hoovers info on companies and can verify accounts, but the contact info is not as updated and accurate as the competition. Looking up companies - is the best solution.

In my organization, I utilize this platform primarily for prospecting and list-building. One unique function that would be helpful is if there was a filter to mark that the headquarters of the company was in the geographic location you are searching.

I use D&B Hoovers to find Phone and email address contacts within companies in industries that our one/stop production shop can serve. D&B Hoovers offers company profile information including employee head count and annual revenue which helps me stratify which prospects have the most promise.

Our sales team is the primary user of D&B Hoovers.
  • Easy to filter a list of hundreds of contacts to pair it down to just a few key people in either purchasing or engineering departments.
  • Searching for a company by their web domain instantly brings up the profile.
  • Once I have identified a company I wish to speak with, I can also see corporate linkage to other satellite offices or divisions under the corporate umbrella.
  • Sometimes the contact information provided is quite out of date. For example, I will call a cell phone number of a person listed in the database and find that that person either has never worked for the company in question or they left years ago.
  • Occasionally a company comes up on the list but the company is permanently closed.
I recently was asked by my boss to try to drum up some business with a certain 500 million annual revenue company. When I searched for Contacts, a list of over 800 employees popped up. I was able to filter by department, and this pared the list down To a much more manageable 15 names with associated contact information. I was then able to sort further and select the names of all the employees that had an email or phone number listed.

We use D&B Hoovers to do market research and build calling lists for both internally and for our clients. We use it to help identify target markets. We search businesses and find similar businesses to help identify clients target markets as well as for our own sales and marketing teams. We will also use it to look at specific types of other businesses in the same demographics, such as SIC code, NAICS code, Sales revenue or general metro or zip codes We also use it to look for contacts at the prospect businesses we are looking to target.

If you are looking for a data provider with pretty good company profiles Hoovers is a great choice. They are currently NOT a leader in contact data. If you are looking for the best data provider for contact data, maybe not your best choice, but if you want to be able to be able to analyze all past clients or prospects to develop a "best fit" prospect profile, Hoovers could be a useful tool. If you are looking for a data provider to get direct phones, direct emails and every employee at a locations this is not the best option. Some of the other competitors who excel at contact data are lacking heavily in the company demographics, where Hoovers is does a good job.

When I try to search on a particular account I found all the respective details of it in Hoovers like parent company, revenue, employees, mail id's, company address and more information about the company and their recent information. Sales is our primary team using Hoovers. I'd like to see it more simplified when searching for companies & individuals. We spend several hours a day searching for data & many times the data is not current (i.e. left the company, took a different role, etc.). Creating watch lists is not helpful without receiving notification on what was updated.

  • There's so much!! You pay X for ALL the services, but only end up using a portion of it.

Taper it to use with software (i.e. AI). It's good for basic searches, but I am not sure how else to use it. I called customer service/account manager to assist, but I just kept getting confused on how to use it efficiently. I need C-Suite level people & there is just not enough information about the C-Suite individual. Many times, there aren't any email, mobile, or correct LinkedIn links.

The biggest challenge that D&B Hoovers helps our business overcome is business intelligence. While we were building a business case to enter a new marketing, D&B Hoovers was a vital tool to researching market opportunities.

We use D&B Hoovers for vetting leads and keeping our data clean and accurate! Other tools are useful, but nothing gave us the results that D&B Hoovers has and there's a reason why it's highly recommended by business professionals of all industries. We struggled for a long time to find the right solution for us, but D&B Hoovers proves to be best-in-class. Worth every penny!

I think the most useful aspect of D&B Hoovers for us has been lead vetting, by far. Before D&B Hoovers we were usually going in blind, but now we have the tools to start informed discussions with potential clients and have more confidence right out of the gate! It's also helps us decide where to use our time. Some leads aren't worth too much of our time and being able to qualify them quickly has been a huge plus!

D&B Hoovers is an excellent source for us to identify key decision makers for our internal use, and for our clients. The information is easy to access, and the quality of the data is as good as it gets for compiled data. I like being able to identify and search for companies by sector and geography, in addition to by role, seniority, and position.

If you're looking for a comprehensive data set that is extremely accurate on company details, D&B shines. The larger the company or type of company that you're looking for, the better the D&B data is. It's very good at identifying who the key players, and decision makers are. It also excels at identifying the headcount of specific types of companies, and if they have locations domestically and/or internationally, where those locations are located.

We seek to identify qualified leads and centers of influence that we can connect with to grow our revenue. A challenge that D&B Hoovers addresses for us is quick access to email addresses. Access to accurate contact data (emails, phone number, job title, etc.) cuts down on time spent researching leads significantly.

More companies should be listed on D & B Hoovers and more specific NAICS code information - seems to be quite a bit of Non Classified companies. Data Remediation teams and Credit Teams use D & B Hoovers

D&B is good to do a quick lookup to see where the Company is based and what its NAICS code may be, although both of these things, especially NAICS code, need to be changed as they are wrong a lot of the time.

Challenge I can say is if you don't have paid access of D&B Hoovers then it provides a limited details on their page which is not useful if you are looking for financial data in a detailed manner. Opportunity- I believe D&B Hoovers is best for me and my teammates for company research profiles. As it provides relevant data with appropriate financials and very user friendly database. Research team and newsletter creation team are primary user in my organization.

  • Best for getting alerts if any changes in leadership for target companies and about their recent acquisition news.
  • I can say one thing is that it doesn't provide the complete information of the company when your paid access is completed. You have to completely depending on the paid version to get the full access of the document .
  • Although as such nothing dislike from my side as I am using from the long time approximately 5 years+ and it is easy to use.
As I am from the research team and it is very useful and suited for me to to get the detailed information about companies including about their geography locations, their products, their recent and historical financial at one go and at one place without wondering here and there. It saves my time alot while doing researching. Also I have set my alerts for weekly newsletter so no need to set alerts again and again on their database just one time creation and everytime you get it in your inbox. Sometimes I feel for private companies data is less and it is less useful. They can improve this thing.

Our New Business Intake and Conflict teams use D&B Hoovers the most. It is perfect for allowing us the opportunity to conduct due diligence on almost any company and help us cross reference our findings with the date stored on Hoovers.

I really enjoy the product and find that it is very efficient compared to other products on the market. Our Sales team is the primary user.

D&B Hoover’s allows me to do market research on other companies without having to purchase large market reports. Some of those reports can be $10k+ so having all that relevant info on the D&B database eliminates me having look in multiple places and spend outrageous amounts on single market reports

If you’re looking for an easy, user friendly, searchable database for company info, financials & corporate contacts, then D&B is perfect. I use it solely for market research for medium to large size companies to get financial data and corporate contacts. It’s helps me build my Salesforce opportunities and it helps me to pass along that info to our sales group

D&B Hoovers provides information needed to enrich our master data which allows us to do reporting. D&B Hoovers is being used by a group of Data Analysts who used the DUNS no. and other related information to validate the business entity of our customer, partner and prospect records and to perform data enrichment. We are then able assign the company unique code created internally based upon this validation and data enrichment.
