Sales representatives have relied on DocuSign to complete business transactions remotely, saving time and increasing revenue. It has been widely adopted by vendors for vendor contracts and forms signed during sales calls. Moreover, it simplifies the signing process for agreements, contracts, and other documents requiring signatures in sales and marketing efforts.

Furthermore, DocuSign has brought positive changes to industries such as finance and mortgage lending. It has significantly improved the online mortgage process, allowing critical documentation to be signed quickly while benefiting compliance departments. In finance, it has facilitated order management and enabled prospects to quickly agree to terms while making purchasing decisions.

Across all these use cases, users appreciate DocuSign's user-friendly interface that is easy to train users and signers on, making the transition to digital signing seamless. Its secure and efficient paperwork capabilities have made it a go-to solution for organizations seeking a contactless and efficient signing process. Intuitive User Interface: Many users have praised the highly intuitive and easy-to-navigate user interface of DocuSign. They appreciate the user-friendly design, which makes it effortless to perform tasks quickly and efficiently. The simplicity and accessibility of the interface are particularly helpful for individuals who are new to signing documents using the platform.

This feature streamlines the process of obtaining signatures from various parties, saving time and effort. Users find it convenient to send documents to multiple recipients with a single action, reducing the need for individual calls and emails.

Real-Time Notifications: Users value the quick turnaround time of receiving notifications and signed documents back immediately after a recipient signs in DocuSign. Several departments use Docusign. Docusign allows us to have [a] secure web-based signature collection instead of relying on access to notaries, fax machines, scanners, or other means of relaying hard signatures. The electronic signature also opens up more doors for accessibility such as mobile and for customers/clients who do not have access to those means.
  • Ease of signature collection effort (fewer steps, fewer location/technology/knowledge requirements)
  • Speed of signature collection (from transmission to signature to receipt of signature)
  • Ease of user account management (administrative function)
  • Tracking, particularly when collecting signatures through connected applications, such as an ATS, is not always clean or easily traceable.
  • Formatting documents to handle electronic signature types (signatures, initials, etc.) is not always easy, and highly dependent on the partner's technology.
  • It is not convenient to have to use DocuSign as a stand alone product if the signatures are required for 3rd party applications. It definitely excels on its own, but the scope of that usage, at least for us, is slim.
This [software] is [amazingly] helpful in any situation requiring a signature. Legal departments, Human Resources departments, Procurement, Auditing, Recruiting, etc. There are tremendous application possibilities.
  • Electronic signature
  • Signature fields for 3rd party documents
  • This has cut our signature collection time by 70%
  • Electronic storage of signed documents has given us a secure backup for sensitive data
We used home grown electronic signatures and were not pleased with the maintenance required.
50
The departments who currently make use of the technology are our Legal, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and Information Technology groups. The heaviest use is Talent Acquisition.

Skilled HRIS tech with knowledge/understanding of HTML and advanced document formatting skills.
  • Need for electronic signature
  • Distance between requestor and signature provider
  • Lack of scanning/faxing/etc ability for signer for a wet signature
  • Electronically secured/stored signed documents
  • Policy sign offs
  • Formal Acknowledgements (policy, disciplinary actions, annual review)
  • Job Offer signatures
  • Pre Background Check Screening Authorizations
  • I'm not sure. I'd be curious to see other ways companies are using the technology.
The interface is simple enough. However, customization of documents requires differing levels of development, mostly dependent on the platform in which DocuSign is going to be used. This is especially true when there are embedded DocuSign fields being used in a 3rd party app.
Yes
Docusign replaced the home grown solution we had developed for capturing signatures. It was a very manual process and there was not uniform tracking. We wanted something automated and consistent. Docusign gave us that.
  • Product Features
  • Product Reputation
It worked. Plain and simple. There were other options out there, but DocuSign had a good reputation and it delivered in the areas we needed most. The selection was not that difficult once we saw the platform perform.
If I had to do it again, it might be with different software to integrate. I believe however, that I would start by asking about compatibility with my product. Fortunately enough for us, DocuSign had plenty of experience with the platforms we had in place. Second I would want to see a demo of the software in action in 2-3 different use scenarios. Third I would want to see what reporting/tracking features I would have. Lastly, I would discuss licensing and cost.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
First stages were discussions with the 3rd party for integration
Once expectations were in place we created templates
Then we added the users and me as the admin
Then we went live.
It was fast fast fast, and we were up and running in no time. The longest part was the document configuration for 3rd party email templates.
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation
There will always be persons who prefer to try and do things their old way instead of conforming. Squash that immediately so that stakeholders have a consistent and audit-passable method.
  • User error
  • 3rd party integration slips (on 3rd party, not DocuSign)
Nothing wordy. It was efficient and quick.
  • Online training
Docusign is super easy to use, and apart from a few administration details, there was really nothing to train on. Post implementation, there were issues with configuration of auto-filled documents with the integrating 3rd party. That training required some time, because the DocuSign expert took the time to walk me through the 3rd party's configuration (how often does that happen?) so I could see how DocuSign should be best used to overcome weaknesses in the 3rd party platform. 10/10 expert care.
Service is fast and courteous. There is not a lot more to say beyond that.
We did not need it, so we did not purchase it. Once our initial setup was complete, we had no need. This system does not break.
No
I can't think of a singular incident. I can only recall the initial setup. Most of the time, we had questions regarding the integration with a 3rd party, and DocuSign responded quickly and with clarity to resolve the matter. In fact, they had understanding of the 3rd party that I did not, even though I was an administrator.
DocuSign is simple to use. Even docusign template fields are simple, once you've used them a couple of times. This is very user friendly, and I have had zero issues as an administrator.
  • Document Status Monitoring
  • Reporting and Filtering
  • Document Management
  • Integrating fields in 3rd party software, due to instability in the 3rd party platform, not DocuSign
Yes, but I don't use it
In my years of using DocuSign, I have never had an outage. I haven't even encountered a bug.
It does not go down. I have had zero issues with DocuSign, approaching 4 years.
Everything loads quickly. Reports are generated in a reasonable time. No noticeable difference in integrated software processing speeds.

Our company recently implemented DocuSign as we often have agreements and licenses to share and cosign with clients and vendors. DocuSign makes it so much easier than printing, signing, scanning and saving in secure locations. It is a time-saver while also making sure that we have legally executed documents on file. Not to mention that it saves lots and lots of paper!
  • Easy to implement
  • No training needed on use!
  • Other clients and vendors use so it's seamless
  • Super easy to add additional users across the company
  • We have not found any ways to improve yet! (Just rolled out in the past 6 months, but so far, so good!)
Easy to get any legal documents shared and signed quickly. No need for paper copies or using a scanner. It's a time and resource saver!
  • Eliminates the need for multiple paper copies
  • Eliminates the need to scan copies
  • No need to save copies in multiple places on a server or personal files
  • Much more secure and legally binding than previous methods of getting signed copies when needed
  • Much quicker turnaround on sending and receiving signed copies
We did not have another product. That meant copies were sent out with signature lines for signature, cosign, copy, scan, then saving in a file somewhere. This eliminated all of that!
Everyone who has access to this solution loves it. As noted, it saves on so many resources, both materials and time! We also know that documents executed this way are legally binding. A+ all the way around. I am not sure why we didn't have this sooner, based on the amount of legal documents we share with clients and vendors.

It started out being used by just myself, then after showing my company how easy it was to use and how it benefited not only our company but the parents, students, and other organizations we work with, it was a no brainer. My company decided to begin using DocuSign throughout. It has been a wonderful addition to our company and saved me (and others) countless hours, money, and relieved a lot of stress in getting our documents signed quickly and efficiently. Sometimes I have to give a bit of direction to the people/organizations we send DocuSign to, but overall, it is very simple for everyone to use.
  • Ease of sending the same document out to multiple recipients, at multiple locations, for multiple signatures
  • Quick turnaround - once the recipient signs the document, we receive notification and the document back immediately
  • Can resend, alter, change, and/or add to the email and/or document that is sent out very easily
  • The recipient can save the document after signing, so they too have their own electronic copy for their records
  • Until you get used to the size/area for signatures, you can accidentally overcrowd the signature area if there are multiple signatures
  • Some recipients have stated that they have no problem with the signature or date sections, but are confused as to how to navigate to a check a box
  • Until I played around with the program, I didn't see any specific instruction that told me I could just click a box and have multiple documents sent out in no particular order; at first, I thought they went out in the order I put them in. It took trial and error to learn that by clicking certain boxes, they can go out in any order, and then I can just remind one or two people to sign, not everyone
Where several of our companies facilities are located, we are very remote on military bases. So, using regular postal service to get our paperwork out wasn't a good option and was very time-consuming. It also wasn't very secure or a 'sure thing' that the paperwork would get to where it needed to go. So, DocuSign is a HUGE timesaver and money saver. Our parents can't come to our site, so we needed an efficient way to get our paperwork signed within our legal timeframe without being near the recipients. DocuSign fit the bill, and we love it!
  • Save money on postage and supplies.
  • Saved time having to mail, wait for the mail to return, return it again if not done properly, and every other bad scenario that could happen - DocuSign has fixed them all.
  • Being able to get my paperwork done in an extremely time efficient manner - a most important aspect when we have time frame laws to abide by and can't afford to be missed.
To be honest, I found out about PandaDoc after we had already signed a contract with DocuSign. I researched PandaDoc, and while they seem fine and are a wonderful up and coming company, we've had such success with DocuSign, and they've been around longer...they have a good history and a longer track record - why change a good thing?!?

Administration and the Special Education Department
10
Our administration department supports everything related to DocuSign.
  • Special Education documentation
  • Administrative documents
  • Contracts
  • Simple one-page documents such as revocations, addendums, and logs
  • Also used it to date/time stamp certain SPED documents
  • Not sure - started as a strictly Special Education necessity
It has worked well for all of our sites across the state of Georgia - each site it a bit different in its needs, so the versatility of DocuSign has been wonderful and so very helpful.
  • Placing the signature box and date box where needed
  • Sending to multiple recipients
  • Adding a check box
  • Finding out how to NOT have the emails sent out in a particular order - found out through trial and error
  • Placing multiple signature lines close together without overlapping, causing us not to be able to read the signatures
  • Directing recipients how to correctly check a box
Just a couple things I had to learn through trial and error that I don't remember seeing mentioned - it would have made my life easier if I had known certain things prior to my first use. Perhaps more tutorials or suggestions for use.

We started to look for an e-signature solution to help streamline internal processes within the HR group. We built systems that relied heavily on the POWERFORM modules. What started out as a way for other departments to provide necessary information to the HR group soon became "the way" for interdepartmental communications. We totally eliminated missing and tardy information and were able to produce efficiencies within the company that produced savings in excess of $80k for the first year.

As our knowledge grew and we and our peers became more comfortable with docusign, we were able to expand on our uses, especially in the HR realm. We started with simple change forms for position, reporting structure and pay and ended up moving to taking our entire new hire process paperless. This included everything from the offer letter to pre employment paperwork that the candidate would receive in their email box. For our employees we gave access to powerforms through a kiosk that allowed them to make changes to benefits, beneficiaries, emergency contacts, personal information such as address and phone number changes, suggestions, HR contact (complaint) - anonymously, and many more.

With building these processes we were able to transition into a paperless employee file environment. NO MORE PAPER.

  • Support and training - There was always somewhere to go or someone to go to when there was a need for help. Not only that but the assistance was helpful.
  • Thinking outside the box - we came up with some pretty crazy scenarios and workflows but never once was able to stump DocuSign.
  • Ease of use - the mobile solution is great but we really relied on the DocuSign ink for outlook. So easy to use!!!
  • I would love to see a better tie in with our active directory (external database) so we could code HTML to better feed the powerforms
  • I'd like to possibly see a little better internal branding options. The look and feel is very docusign and isn't very customizable

In the HR realm DocuSign is great. There are so many uses that after a short while we were asking how we managed without it. It really streamlines processes. When sending documents for signature it is fantastic to have the ability to see where the document is in the process (who the form is waiting for) and even see if and when it was viewed by the recipient even if it was signed immediately. This allows follow up.

When I try to think of a use where DocuSign couldn't help, I honestly can't.

  • Process efficiency - we have and continue to save time and are able to maintain a "one right way" of doing things.

PowerForms were a big part of the decision to go with DocuSign. The fact that there was practically an unlimited size allowance of the workflow and approval for a form was a winner for us.

When comparing a couple of e-signature solutions the things that we felt Docusign did better were:

DocuSign for outlook

Mobile solution

Powerforms

Ease of use for non-company people

The majority of our admin users are either in the HR function or the IT group. The admin users are setting up new processes etc but the main use comes from the people that access the processes that are put in place. Once we look at that number we are into the 1000s.
4
We have 4 people that have been through the DocuSign university and have become DocuSign certified. These were split between HR and IT. I think the ideal people to go through this would be someone that isn't afraid to get in there and try something new. They need to be able to ask "why" and "how" so that they can address gaps and build solutions.
  • New hire forms
  • Position - manager - pay - change forms
  • Vacation and time away from work requests
  • PowerForms - PowerForms - PowerForms - PowerForms
  • Docusign lead us to question how we managed employee files. We are now completely paperless
  • Sales contracts - we are looking into this as an option now
I can't imagine doing business without DocuSign now. I would never want to go back to the way we used to do things. The "new way" is "the way" is "the right way." We can honestly be proud of a "one right way" process and not have to suffer through "5 ways for 5 days."

We needed, no had to have, ease of use. If the product was difficult to use then implementation would be tough. As it was we rolled out DocuSign and took off without any fight or pushback. I couldn't have been happier with the ease of implementation, we simply demoed the system and processes and the users ran with it.
I wouldn't have waited any or our time looking at other options and would have pulled the trigger much quicker on DocuSign. There really wasn't a need to grade any other system against DocuSign as DocuSign was clearly superior and fit our needs and requirements perfectly right from the start.

Docusign is used for various workflows by several departments. We mainly use DocuSign to receive and send electronic RESPA documents to our mortgage borrowers to make the process easier. We also use DocuSign in-house and send expense reports, authorization forms and employee applications. Using DocuSign makes it easier to track and see outstanding documentation that needs to be addressed.
  • Docusign's legal team keeps up with the trends in the finance industry so we are in compliance.
  • Enterprise support offers quick customer service for any troubleshooting issues.
  • The website offers easily laid out how to guides at hand.
  • The only issue I had in past with docusign was matching templates but they resolved this issue for us recently.
When you have two signers and one might be out of the country on business- that's a perfect use of DocuSign so there is no delay. It is also well suited when you have a rush deal or closing and need the documents signed ASAP!
  • Increased employee efficiency- we make sure when setting up the package- all necessary signature lines are tagged so we don't have to bother the customer again.
  • Saves ups and postal cost!
  • When someone is out of the office we can easily share mailbox accounts.
  • ala mode
Docusign has an easier to use portal - we tested both about 10 years ago and DocuSign offered a better price and it seemed easier to use.
