With Domo, regional directors, board of directors, brand leaders, and C-level executives have found a trusted reporting source that addresses the need for consolidated reporting on core KPIs and provides a quick tool for data extraction and analysis. This software has proven to be invaluable in centralizing data visibility and collaboration across departments, allowing users to connect and correlate data from different platforms for historical data analysis and visualization. Whether it is finance, HR, sales, engineering, product development, marketing, or client services departments, Domo is used to report key project indicators and metrics. The software's ability to combine internal and external data provides a holistic view of the organization's performance and leverages data resources effectively. Domo's features have automated reporting processes while reducing reliance on IT resources. It has also provided valuable insights into previously unexplored areas of the business. By aggregating data from various sources, Domo assists customer success teams in understanding customer behavior and performance. In addition, its intuitive user interface makes it an excellent tool for executive reporting by all departments within an organization.

Some reviewers have stated that Domo allows them to generate easy-to-read reports and share them with a wide range of stakeholders. The ability to export data in multiple formats is also appreciated by users, as it enables them to customize the information they need for different applications or uses.

User-Friendly Interface: The user interface of Domo is easy to understand and navigate, making it user-friendly. Many users have mentioned that they appreciate the seamless connectivity with other software and data sources, which enables efficient communication among users and spreads information to different teams. Additionally, the capability of connecting multiple platforms makes it easier for users to access and aggregate information from various sources.

Powerful Data Visualization: Domo offers a powerful report generator that automatically creates charts using different metrics, making it a top-notch tool for data visualization. Furthermore, the centralized platform provided by Domo where all data is stored has been praised by users for giving them access to all their data in one place.

Difficulties in Dataset Management: Some users found it hard to get a visual idea of where their datasets were linked to and felt that it would be helpful to see the schema like in other software such as Sisense or Salesforce. Renaming a field in a dataset caused issues and broke everything that was built. Users desired better tables and pivot tables with basic Excel functionality.

High Cost: The price was considered fairly high for small businesses. Some users mentioned that Domo is expensive and expressed dissatisfaction with the cost of the software.

Steep Learning Curve: The software has a steep learning curve, causing some users to give up and not use it. Users mentioned limitations due to lack of technical know-how, difficulties in navigating through the platform if they do not use it daily, and the need for more comprehensive training.

Users highly recommend integrating Domo with other tools for enhanced functionality and to meet specific business intelligence needs. They suggest exploring other options if Domo does not fulfill these requirements. Users also advise taking ample time for implementation and providing training for new users to become familiar with navigating Domo effectively.

Domo is praised for its ability to make data visually appealing and easy to understand. Users recommend investing time in learning the software as it simplifies live data collection and management, aiding in decision-making. They also advise checking if Domo supports the required type of business intelligence and upcoming upgrades.

The speed to market for Tableau is far too long. When APis are updated, the connections break creating a continuous cycle of development needed.

Cliq and PowerBI are the most common options, however I have not personally evaluated them.

Domo seems for advanced, but more difficult to gain critical mass with.

Tableau seems to be a less expensive option that does much of the same reporting, but doesn't have the online presence / Social media feel that Domo has.

Logi Analytics seems to require developers to set up, but once they are is very stable.

Domo had more of what we were looking for in a BI tool when comparing it to the competition. This is true of both simple and more robust features: from drilling capabilities and visualization management to beast mode calculations and custom app development. The team we work with now is also great and knowledgeable.

I think Domo's support is very good when compared to the competitors. I enjoyed fully communicating with them all. They where helpful and informative when we where setting up our domain for the first time. Domo's onboarding fee is very steep for a small business to swallow however, so please know what you are signing up for.

At the end of the day, end-user adoption and taking the burden of IT to build reports was my goal. Demoing and testing many BI tools, DOMO is the one that allowed both to happen.

Domo is more suited for creating visualizations for executives, and usually they tend to be high level data visualizations.
In this sense, it is not the most powerful tools for deep dive analysis, but it is intuitive and fast. Especially if your end users will access your dashboards using a mobile phone.

In my experience, Domo has been a lot more straightforward to set up data sets and visualizations for multiple users to have access to. I think the ability to share reports and export information is also a lot easier than experiences I've had with Tableau

We looked at all of these and the main reason we went with Domo is because it's a fully hosted solution. With these other tools you may need to host it yourself locally, or if you want to put it on AWS or somewhere else it sort of falls on you, or adds $$$$ to your overall cost. It wasn't something I like the hassle of, so you deal with the lack of some schema visibility b/c the hassle of worrying about your data are virtually (pun intended) eliminated. Dealing with hosting your own solution is not something I would recommend unless your org has dedicated people to do the job. Unlimited storage is a perk, so is the fact that AWS indexes and parses your data. Who wants to worry about that anyway

We've only used Domo, but I know there are a number of BI tools out there that many companies use. Domo might be more expensive but it is very powerful and easy to use and seamlessly connects to most of the software we use internally. Their support team is also excellent for when we need help building cards or troubleshooting data sets.

  • Tableau Desktop, Tableau Online, Tableau Public, Looker, Periscope Data, Chartio, JReport, TIBCO Jaspersoft, Yellowfin, RJMetrics, Zoomdata, QlikView and Microsoft Power BI
Domo is the only one truly all-in-one platform. For example, at the time of assessment (mid-end 2016), Tableau didn't have alert feature off the shelf,
Domo is the only one with powerful mobile apps, no other even come close.
Domo not only has alert feature but it's also self-service and supports SMS & mobile app notification.
Domo is the only one allowing collaboration with their in-platform chat (Buzz) and seamless sharing.
Domo has the most data sources connection supported.
Domo's datasets simply works, compared to headache in maintaining Tableau Data Extract for example.
Most other products would introduce heavy burden on the databases especially those relying on live queries to work.
Domo has the most user-friendly, intuitive and beautiful UI/UX.

  • Excel
DOMO, as reporting tool, is in another league compared to Excel. Excel is great at pulling in data and using it in complex calculations, not aligned to a table architecture, but lacks when it comes to creating and automating reports. DOMO is much better at bringing in different types of data, processing larger quantities, and is built to simplify how the reports are viewed and how user interact with them.

Domo was by far the easiest to use of all the tools we evaluated. From a user perspective, it was more visually appealing as well. From an admin standpoint, there were more built-in connectors and the ease of using ODBC connections was a plus. It was also comparable in price to other tools we reviewed.

The software also stands out for its collaborative nature. It can integrate with different datasets, including social media, spreadsheets, and most enterprise business systems.

Domo is positioned as a self-service BI tool for varied user types, from the department staff to the tech engineer. As such, it is easy to use and is conveniently accessible via a single dashboard. It is also useful for users that demand real-time insights.

I looked at 20 different BI tools before I chose Domo (even over the tools I was most familiar with). I went with Domo because it was the right fit for the organization I'm at. Every company will have different priorities and needs, but for us I wanted the following:
- Cloud
- Mobile ready
- Light, easy, simple (user friendly)
- Collaboration (including direct line to support)
- Pre-built connectors into common applications, and templates "domo apps" for common dashboards

Domo provides various features: ETL tool, project management, and also data visualization tools. You can do the data preparation and also create the data warehouses by using Domo itself. Compared to other visualization tools I've ever used, Domo's self service visualization tool helps a lot: you can drag and drop easily to view the data in a different perspective. Besides that, you can share the report to people in your organization. Domo also provides several access levels on the dashboard (we call it pages), as well as the data-set. It helps on governing data access within the company.

Low total cost of ownership, quick time to market, low maintenance footprint, enables business users to fish for the [data[ themselves, provides a single version of the truth on a single platform, enables access to cloud-hosted data and internally hosted data, mobile enabled, collaboration/workflow through Domo Buzz, and predictive analytics/machine learning.

We chose Domo because it was a tool that best fit our smaller organization. Unlike many of the other business intelligence tools, Domo does not need to be administrated by a developer. Our developer hours were very expensive, so a tool such as Tableau or Quick Sight were out of the question.

Our biggest push here was the magic ETL functionality and how simple the set-up was. Cost was also a factor, but our ability to connect our Zendesk and Salesforce instance quickly and build a complex dataset in roughly an hour was very impressive. Much quicker than we experienced with our vendors and we continued to do the same quick build out when we brought in some marketing data as well.

We had previously used Geckoboard. We also looked at Tableau and have begun exploring Microsoft's solution. None of the tools offered the ease of use and the myriad of data connectors that Domo has. Geckboard was less expensive but had some major limitations in terms of visualizations. Tableau was way too expensive.
