We originally started to use Dropbox Business as a solution to share data with other external users, consultants, and customers. We really loved using this tool in the beginning as it was easy to share large files, but when sharing to users that do not have enough storage on their personal account. It turned into more unnecessary work. But I love the secure sharing features that it provides and allows you to password protect as well as expire the link. Those are features that have been available for years.
One way we like to use it create a shared folder for a specific need and provide read/write access to non-pro users to access it. This works just fine as most company users do not have the need for the premium features and this helps with cost and efficiency.
We are now using Microsoft SharePoint/OneDrive a little more but always go back to Dropbox when need to share securely. If wanting to purchase this product, please use a trial and have a plan prior to starting to make sure the features you need and want will work well for your organization, before spending the money on the annual subscription.
  • Secure File Sharing with external users
  • Share link expiration
  • User control
  • Keeps track of user file changes
  • When dropbox.com detects a user creating an account, it will suggest to have your IT department add you as a user
  • Not require the external user that is trying to access the shared date to have enough available storage
  • Reconfigure the folder structure for sharing
  • In order to configure your company branding, you need to have a certain amount of paid users under the account
Dropbox Business is still very useful when sharing secure data with external users and providing them with a password and link expiration. I still think that this is a secure way of sharing data. I normally share the link via a new email and if the possibility is available, text the password to the user.
Sharing data internally is not ideal as we can now use Office 365 SharePoint/OneDrive which is making things a lot easier for us as a company.

I have used a personal Dropbox for years, so I was excited to use it in the workplace as well. We needed a storage and file share solution that could quickly transfer 4K videos. We also use Microsoft OneDrive, but we ran out of space. My boss and I both use Dropbox for personal use, so it was an easy transition.
  • Easy, intuitive interface.
  • Sync with desktop.
  • Push-button sharing.
  • I’d like to customize the sharing settings more easily.
  • More storage space is always a need.
  • More perks for long-standing customers.
Dropbox Business is great for a small business like ours. Companies that deal with sensitive data (financial services, government, etc) might need a solution that’s more focused on security. I could see a lot of scenarios where links get shared and forwarded. If that’s not a concern, this would be an excellent solution.

I use Dropbox within the math department at Davidson Academy. We have a departmental dropbox with shared folders as well as a subfolder for each individual within the department.
  • Real-time Shared Documents
  • Ability to access all department documents in one place
  • Ability to edit work without having to send a single document back and forth between team members.
  • I wish there was a way to better manage conflicted copies of documents.
We keep track of student calculator codes. We have one master spreadsheet that all members of the math department have access to. That way, we can all add information from our students to one centralized location. In addition, we can look back at past years to check students' calculator codes from years when they were in a colleague's class.

We use Dropbox Business across our department, whole company as well as with vendors. It allows for more storage so we could easily share photos, large documents even to vendors. It makes the process a lot easier, faster, it's secure, allows a significant amount of storage.
  • store large amount files, photos, videos in organized way
  • easily share files among colleagues, vendors
  • easy to navigate the platform
  • access files quickly , filter by searching
  • unable to tag files, photos , could be better way to organize photos
  • synchronizing is a little slow
  • large files take long to load
  • mobile version could be more user friendly
Dropbox is one of the best compared to competitors. It's appropriate for every business need and size of company. It's great for sharing large files among coworkers and outside vendors. They are a little expensive so depends on company needs and budget. Your company may be able to just use the free version however you just have to delete files after sharing because of space available.

Dropbox has not been fully adopted at our company but with so many personal preferences to file storage we find ourselves supporting elements of it all over our network or others. Currently it is being used within certain aspects of our company but more so when our end customer uses it. It solves a quick and easy to use file system/file sharing system that is not complicated and straight forward.
  • Dropbox Business is quick to deploy
  • The learning curve to use Dropbox when coming from other file services is easy
  • Dropbox is used in a lot of personal file spaces so working with the business element is not much change
  • Their ability to enhanced security
  • Child parent relationship permission settings
  • Proactive notification based of criteria when trying to control centralized filing errors
I see Dropbox Business being well suited as a platform to share documents with end customers. This is a quick and easy to deploy system that allows for collaboration under a well known secure cloud framework. The ability to access it through all sorts of devices via web server, app, desktop app make this easy to use on the go. I do not see Dropbox Business being the ideal solution for a full centralized filing system that wants to really manage permission level settings. If you come from Sharepoint to Dropbox you are going to feel like your security legs were cut out from under you.

Our entire organization uses Dropbox Business. It's a great way to transfer files between teams, consultants & clients. Also, it's a very simple way to backup data.
  • Dropbox Business makes it very simple to backup files on-line
  • Dropbox Business allows team members to access files on-line as if they're working locally
  • Dropbox Business provides a secure location to store files on-line
  • Dropbox Business currently does not allow multiple team members to work on the same file simultaneously
  • Dropbox Business should let other team members know who has the file currently opened for editing
  • Dropbox Business web browser interface should allow for files or folders to be dragged & dropped from one location to another
Dropbox Business is well suited for situations where large group of files need to be transferred from one team member to many other team members. So it becomes a file repository for others to retrieve the files when they get around to it. Dropbox Business should not be used like a network drive since it does not do a good job locking files that have been opened by others. You can risk lost of data when multiple team members open the file for editing simultaneously.

Dropbox Business has been a life saver for my business, my clients snd my colleagues. We have locations all over North America and need to maintain consistency between them. Just this week I found one of my locations actually deleted a key file and either the ability to restore we did not miss a beat. This is a must for any business.
  • Maintains consistency with multiple locations
  • Files that may be accidental deleted can be restored
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to train all users
  • A note to user prior to deleting a file
It is best suited in an operation that is either in multiple location or even multiple offices in one location. For an individual user a professional version of the software could work just fine. Also use this over local storage. I have tons of local storage I don’t use any more since this works so great.

Used to share files within groups and also to be able to access files from different devices
  • Great for storing documents
  • Great for being able to collaborate on file
  • would be nice if multiple users could modify documents at the same time and see modifications by others
It works best when you have a good internet connection. We use on the job a lot and we don't always have a good internet connection

We use Dropbox Business for data rooms we set up for potential and existing clients. We chose DB for the unlimited space and the ability to collaborate and control what is shared. The platform is well-known and user-friendly which is important to our clients.
  • User-friendly platform is accessible to everyone, regardless of tech experience.
  • The ability to easily collaborate with a team.
  • Editing files in real-time within the app.
  • I wish the price for a business account was less expensive.
Dropbox has been extremely helpful when we need to share large amounts of confidential data with clients. People are familiar with the brand and find it efficient and easy to use. Unfortunately, we cannot store files permanently due to SEC compliance issues.

the solution of Dropbox Business is used on both levels at the whole organisation of the university, along with the usage of most of the different depts and faculties. It aims to manage the filing of all formal documents that are handled, shared, and modified by most of the staff.
  • easy to intall
  • easy to maintain
  • simple to understand its usage
  • it could improve the way that folders are created
  • there is also room to improve notifications received when changes are done
  • visual organisation could also be improved
the tool works well in small and limited environments, where all users are realativeely close to contact among them. In bigger organisation, the lack of a better visual display that include all the folders, accesses and doc's is somehow a limitation for a big acceptance from the forced users that do not have the chance to choose another tool.

Whole organization - cloud based file sharing, no central servers in use
  • File syncing
  • File sharing outside of organization
  • LAN Based Synchronization for new copies
  • File history for admins for accidental deletes
  • Policy enforcement on internal team
  • provides a lot of space
  • Cost
  • Conflicted Copies
Easiest to use of the file collaboration bunch. However, has a reputation for not being as secure as box -- and as such many companies block access to Dropbox.

As an internal tool, its ease of use is King -- compare this to a sharefile or OneDrive/sharepoint experience & you'll immediately see the benefit.

The biggest selling point for Dropbox is -- do I want my users to work in the cloud in cloud apps, or do I want them to work locally. If in the cloud, there's better choices (despite Dropbox making good improvements here, they're still not the best -- box is, or google is for google apps customers) but if there's a need to have a localized sync (think autocad, other big files where you don't want them to be cloud based) Dropbox is the best hands down.

We primarily use it to swap video and image files between us and our clients for Amazon listings. It makes it super easy to share various documents across platforms and between different individuals and agencies. Especially when you are attempting to share larger files it is a great option to streamline that process.
  • Sharing large files between clients
  • Streamline the sharing process of assets
  • Makes integrating new clients information and assets seamless
  • Not as user friendly as google drive or other cloud based softwares
  • I wish that it was integrated into your browser like google drive but I am not sure if that is possible
  • I would say that it works great for what is advertised but there are better options out there in my opinion.
I think it works great for what it is designed to do. I personally prefer just sharing things via google drive links but I still utilize Dropbox all of the time in communication with my clients and sharing various documents and assets. As said before it works great, just not my preferred method.

We use it across the organization. It is a good backup with history support and helps me easily share content with different team members in my organization and/or clients.
  • It has top-notch security, which is highly appreciated by my clients.
  • The history feature saved us numerous amounts of time from re-doing work.
  • Ability to track who made changes to a document, and comment on it helped us with keeping content organized and avoiding conflicts.
  • Recently we started integrating Dropbox into other product management and communication tools such as Slack and Monday. Works really good.
  • Once we had a major problem where one of the employee accidentally deleted lots of data and had to restore. It appears that this mechanism work much less effective than restoring a group of files. Eventually it took Dropbox about 2 months with resolving the issue, and us additional 2 weeks of cleanup afterwards.
  • Dropbox is getting very expensive and there are today some alternatives that have better price to value ratio.
It is very good for small organizations or very large organizations. Everything in between may have problems with the sheer cost of maintaining the users' costs. Also, it is not recommended if your company has a huge amount of data as currently, Dropbox lowered the amount of storage they're offering for small businesses.

Dropbox Business is used is my business unit as our major cloud file storage platform. It is secured , accessible across different mediums ( mobile and computer) , and it integrates with a host of third party applications deployed in my organization.
For me, I see Dropbox Business as more than a file storage platform, I see it as a workspace where efficient collaboration takes place.
  • Integration with major third party software applications.
  • Easy accessibility from anywhere.
  • Secured platform.
  • At the moment, Dropbox Business does not offer support for an in-built spreadsheet.
  • Dropbox Business document creation tool - Paper, lacks an effective spell check feature.
Dropbox Business is well suited for file sharing.

Dropbox Business is well suited for collaboration between multiple people, by using Dropbox paper.

It is ideal for on-the-move usage, due to the availability of a smartphone application on android and iOS.

The most important feature is, it keeps my data safe and secure. It can be accessed very easily. It introduces us to splendid ways of optimizing the workflow. It let us work more smoothly. It can be handled easily. Moreover, we do not need to worry about our valuable files. It plays a very significant role in sharing raw images as well as sharing huge size of files very conveniently.
  • Its synchronizing program is advanced and rapid.
  • This valuable tool has introduced new paths for storing documents as well as files very conveniently.
  • It is enriched with bundles of interesting powerful features that do a great job on mobile phones too.
  • I would say it is kept on fascinating me with its amazing and reliable featuring.
  • It is a cloud-based storage system that is completely valuable for me. I am [a] satisfied user and have experienced its customer support many times, every single time I had a conversation with them was amazing and beneficial for me.
  • I rely on Dropbox because it is giving reliable services.
Dropbox is one of the most preferable suggestion for those who are finding a safe platform for their personal as well as business data. What I like most, is its task collaboration that allows us to work at the same time and gives advanced kind of data sharing options with different kinds of permissions.

Dropbox Business allows us to share files with each other, customers, and vendors. This helps us because we work with many people that we can't just go see. So the ability to share drawings, files, pictures, and videos is essential to moving a project forward. Dropbox helps us do that and makes sure we can access the information anywhere we can get online.
  • The ability to share information.
  • You can invite others to your files.
  • You can keep the information separate and limit who gets access to what.
  • The interface has been a little clunky at times and any time it updates you may have to relearn how to use it.
Dropbox Business is great for getting larger files back and forth between people. We use it because we have a team on the road and they can share pictures to it with our team in the office. Also, customers or vendors have used Dropbox to share files with us as well. This is especially useful for sharing videos, which we need to see how machinery is functioning to understand if there are issues with it.

Dropbox Business is used by our Product and Design teams to showcase the work they're doing. It's a useful tool for sharing and previewing large files as well as collaborating once feedback is received.

We used to use Dropbox across the whole organisation but that changed due to overhead costs.
  • Great tool for previewing large files and sharing them quickly with people in and out of the organisation.
  • Good collaboration tools - it's simple to give feedback during revisions.
  • Nice UI and search function so it's easy to find files you're looking for.
  • Some PDF previews can be a bit wonky in terms of colour, but downloading the file and viewing it fixes that issue.
  • Overhead costs for larger organisations.
If you're looking for a reliable and safe place to store your files, Dropbox is definitely an option you should consider. It makes it simple to share and review different types of files and you can use it to streamline your whole revision process.

However, the overhead costs can be an issue if you want to use the tool across your growing company because most people simply need to have access and are not necessarily using the tool at all.

Due to our company growing, we switched to Google Drive which is free, however, the search function and folder structure are pretty messy! If cost were no object for the company, I'd choose Dropbox in a heartbeat (just like I do for my personal work).

We use Dropbox Business for all of our important files that required shared access. Internal employees, customers, and other 3rd parties all have varying levels of access to files in our Dropbox Business account. It makes it easy to share photos with creative teams, spreadsheets with wholesale customers, files for download to retail customers, and so on.
  • User and group permissions are straightforward and easy to use
  • Creating a link to share files takes no time at all and is easily revoked
  • Web and desktop apps work seamlessly
  • Smart Sync and Selective Sync allow you to save hard drive space by selecting what you need to sync
  • They need to fix the ._Filename.doc (or any other file type) issue on the web version when syncing from Macs.
Any business that needs to sync files and create shareable folders should consider Dropbox Business. We once "lost" hundreds of files because we didn't set our employee permissions properly, and someone accidentally deleted an important folder from their desktop. The Dropbox support team worked with us to figure out the day and time this happened and then rolled back our account to fix the issue. It feels good to know even when we mess up. Our files are still safe and accessible.

Dropbox is used as a cloud-based file management tool for most of our organization. We use it both as a backup and as a way to share information easily without email attachments. We also occasionally use it for sharing large files or folders with outside vendors or other organizations. This is particularly handy with albums of photos.
  • Backup information.
  • Makes collaboration and sharing documents easy.
  • Compatible with lots of tech including phones, laptops, etc.
  • It can be a bit slow to navigate when you have a large amount of folders backed up.
  • Automatic imports can be a bit worrisome when sharing content.
  • Tough for some older users.
Dropbox is well-suited for backing up information and sharing it throughout an entire team without having to use email attachments. It is perfectly suited for multiple devices and the automatic backup features help data to be backed up very easily. The tool could be a bit more user-friendly for me.

Dropbox Business was (and still is) being used for safe file storage and easy and comfortable file exchange. It allowed us to use shared files between locations and devices quickly. We have been using it on several web-browsers as well as on mobile devices. Windows plugin that enabled shared folders inside native Windows File Explorer was especially useful as it allowed us to very quickly and comfortably accessed the files. Live-sharing and live-control over our shared files collection were superb, and real-time synchronization between devices using the same account was excellent.
  • Real-life access to shared files folder between devices
  • Great native apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS
  • Easy file sharing and management
  • Remote control, allowing the user to erase stolen quickly, lost or damaged devices
  • Sometimes synchronization has to be manually triggered by launching the Dropbox app on mobile devices.
  • Mobile devices - some of them don't let the app run in the background due to the batter saving modes - but that is those devices settings, not the Dropbox issue.
  • Dropbox Business is very well suited for all environments, where a lot of images are being taken. They are quickly accessible on all devices accessing that account, so they work great while doing visual documentation while capturing industrial processes, etc.
  • There are two scenarios where I would not be using Dropbox:
  • - working with medical projects - as far as I know, Dropbox security is not certified for medical records. Hence I would not be keeping data regarding medical projects there.
  • -using a lot of Word and Excel documents - as far as Dropbox Business can use deep-linked native apps on mobile devices. It means going from one app to another; I would stick to Google Drive if I would need a solution for storing and sharing a lot of Google-suite documents.

  • Good price for cloud storage space.
  • Easy to share secure files.
  • Doesn't translate to mobile as well as some other similar services.
It has good integration with Windows interface. Like many cloud storage services, you can sync the files directly to a folder in Windows. This allows you to upload or remove files without even opening any Dropbox app or website, just manipulate the files directly on your PC.

Dropbox Business is used to sync files across multiple users' computers, and the entire organization uses it. We also use it to send large files to people outside of the organization rather than trying through email. Dropbox Business serves as a cloud-based backup for our files and a central location for anyone in the organization to locate images, documents, or software they need to install.
  • Quick and easy synchronization to the cloud
  • Ability to access information across platforms
  • Price compared to other options
  • Being able to handle communication over a VPN
If they need cloud-based storage, then I recommend Dropbox Business. There is a ton of storage, it's the easiest platform to use, and the integration into Windows and Mac OS is excellent. It can also generate links to files if you want to share them with other people. Plus, if other people in your organization are already using it, it's a must-have.

Our marketing department currently uses Dropbox Business to facilitate large file data transfers, proofing, and overall content storage. It facilitates both internal use as a repository and external use for sharing content. Our organization is a content powerhouse, so having an easy system to use is critical for efficiency in our work.
  • Easy sharing
  • Simple categorization of assets
  • Starting to be blocked by certain agencies and companies
  • No real categorization feature like a mainstream DAM

Dropbox Business is used across all verticals in my organization. It is a one-stop solution for file storing and sharing. It is very flexible and stable when it comes to transferring large size files and documents. From the point of view security, it provides a great platform to store proprietary information using encryption key security. Such features are critical in helping organizations to trust and migrate exhaustively to cloud storage like Dropbox Business. Smart sync feature in the Dropbox Business allows you to sync and autosave files from your desktop to the cloud. This way, an auto backup is created the moment you start working on a file. Dropbox Business allows you to add members and share your folder with others. Dropbox Business integrates well with enterprise software, where information collaboration can take place across different software.

  • Collaboration is very fast and secured.
  • Document storage is seamless with auto arrange. Folder views are very graphical, and navigation is easy.
  • Dropbox Business mobile phone app needs continuous updates, and the app only works after update.
  • No traceability or tracking logs, this is a major issue.
Dropbox is an excellent channel for file sharing and collaboration. We share files across many verticals, and dropbox is excellent for that purpose. Very effective file encryption for security works well when you have more than 800 users using the channel at the same time. Auto-sync is a great feature. Your desktop client syncs and backups your files daily. Working with Dropbox with anything other than your laptop is a big challenge. The smartphone app is hard to use, very frequent updates that lead to disruption in sync and file share. File previews are not good, very blurry, and hard to read. Also, no tracking logs to keep a record of the file transfer.
