We use it to store design files, related images and final assets. If we are working on a big presentation, we save the working file there but also another folder of all the images in the presentation. We use the sharing function to share final assets with stakeholders for feedback who can leave comments directly in the Dropbox link.
  • Desktop sync
  • Folder organization
  • Large storage
  • Creating sharing links - we've had issues with this before. The UI for creating a sharable link for a member outside the Dropbox account is not very intuitive.
Most of my company prefers Google Drive because it's more universal and the sharing settings are more intuitive. It also integrates directly with our emails. Dropbox is only better in instances where we want to leave comments on images and drop them in specific portions of the page to annotate.

Our team uses Dropbox as our main way to connect, edit documents, and save important files within our organization for optimal sharing. Since we have all been remote since COVID-19, finding one platform to connect and do everything we needed to do was hard until we moved to Dropbox. Now, we can be anywhere and access what we need.
  • Accessibility.
  • Organization folders.
  • Availability
  • Sometimes too vast.
  • Better organization.
  • Personalization
Where Dropbox is more suited: You have team members who travel a lot, perhaps overseas. Dropbox is easily accessible no matter what country you're in, leaving less hassle to connect. Where Dropbox is less suited: need documents signed? We leave this task to do within Docusign and simply upload it to Dropbox once the new document is done.

I used Dropbox for every day file management as we work in an ecommerce ecosystem of havinga lot of digital assets to hand off but also easily send around, delete, file, organize, and upload. Dropbox eases this process through features like being able to access files even when offline and having activity views.
  • file management
  • sharing links to specific files
It is a great way to organize any project and team through easily accessible file storage and management. I would dock a point from my review because of the specific line of work I am in I sometimes need specific links to every single file in a folder but that is not made easily possible by Dropbox.

We use dropbox to store and share files that we need more security on. It's helpful for our company as we have people located all over the world on our board and across the U.S. for our grantmaking work. Dropbox gives a place where we can store and send folders of materials and not have to worry about zip files, files being too large, and can lock down access to our documents.
  • We store board meeting files from the agenda prep, final agenda, resolutions, meeting minutes, actions, and more and can send the entire folder to our board for ease of finding and referencing.
  • I use dropbox to store all of our accounting and financial data that can then be used by auditors at the end of the year.
  • I appreciate the search function in dropbox so I can locate files that may not have been saved in the best location for later retrieval.
  • Changing the name of files directly in dropbox would be useful. I've found spelling errors or new naming conventions don't happen easily when you need to download and resave with a new name or the file link is broken.
  • Searching for batch documents with the similar name in them to copy and save would be helpful, i.e. board resolutions. Maybe there's a way to do this and it's user error in not knowing how. I can search for the files but I need to move them all at once to a new location.
Dropbox is suitable for sharing final documents. It's less suitable for collectively working on shared documents. It'd also be helpful to upload a document from Google Drive rather than having to download to word or pdf. Perhaps there's a way to do this and it's user error; but would love some how-to info if so.

I use for storing files and images that are shared between our organization as well as external companies that we work with. The main problem that is being solved is organizational and having enough storage space for all of the various documents and even having multiple iterations of the same document in case older versions are needed.
  • Large capacity for storing files
  • Tagging capability for finding files in various locations
  • Folder organization
  • Color Coordination
  • I also don't like the update where you can see different files in the folder instead of the folder icon because it looks visually messier, I'd prefer this feature to be optional/hidden and revealed when you hover over a folder
  • Being able to hide or lock folders that may be within a shared folder from access
I enjoy the simplicity of Dropbox, being able to share files quickly and efficiently

Dropbox has always been a very efficient system of file saving and sharing for us and we have nearly our whole structure of operation built in Dropbox! We are very pleased with the functionality and ease of use. Would recommend to anyone! We have made some attempts to try different systems for file sharing and none have so far worked as well for us.
  • Keeps workers in the same office connected
  • Makes working remotely easily possible
  • Flexible set up allow us to control the file creation and maintenance
  • Gives many file types to save under making multiple softwares to be accommodated for storing
  • Maybe just a bit more storage space for the price
  • A function to drop off files (with permission) that have been unused for a specified period of time to keep storage under control and records clean
  • Really can't think of any other, we like Dropbox!
For businesses of all types, if it is a multiple person office where the employees are potentially working on the same thing, it makes file sharing easy and efficient.
One thing that it lacks (didn't think to include in previous comments) is real time update or inability to "create a conflicted copy" when a second person tries to open the file when it is already open.

Well-Suited Scenarios: Team Collaboration on Documents, File Sharing and Collaboration Across Devices, Backup and Sync for Remote Work. Less Appropriate Scenarios: Large-Scale Data Storage and Management, Complex Project Management, Strict Compliance Requirements.

I use Dropbox daily for work so store files that the company is using and to send some files to clients/publishers we work with. The main challenge is to have more than one person editing a file, it can create errors in Excel for example. A warning that someone has the file open already would be nice.
  • Cloud storage
  • File sharing
  • Integration with MacOS Finder.
  • colaboration on documents
  • preview of Gsuite docs in MacOS
  • All good otherwise
Better than the competition in a lot of ways but I'm missing the doc interaction from SharePoint or Google cloud. Much better for a profetionnal use but I still prefer ICloud to save my personal files because of it's integration with MacOS and IOS apps. I would consider using Dropbox if there were some added features.

We use it for all of our files. My favourite thing is that you can open it online and click view in finder as I keep most of my files locally. We have a whole server of our whole design projects so we needed a lot of space and the ability to work remotely.
  • Open in finder from web
  • Lots of storage
  • Good for remote work
Remote working with lots of files. Or lots of people working on different files. It is also great when we have to send files and folders with production content to clients or printers. Easy to send one link. It's also good for people where you need lots of files with lots of different versions and links.

I use Dropbox to send project files that are too big to email to clients. Working in the AEC industry, we are often having to send construction drawings to architects and contractors. These can be very big files so being able to send a Dropbox link makes it easy to ensure they received the files. Also, we can collaborate with Dropbox by putting in files that need to be reviewed by the other party and having a place where all the reviewed documents live that we can both access.
  • Clearly see if files are still being uploaded.
  • Ease of uploading multiple files into folders.
  • Ease of creating folders.
  • Ease of sharing specific files with others.
  • Have multiple times tried to share a folder and share the entire Dropbox instead.
  • When I do share a folder, I consistently get requests from people to get access to the entire Dropbox - I don't think they understand what they are requesting access to.
  • it would be nice if the search function was easier to work with.
  • Finding a folder shared with me that I did not create sometimes causes issues with where the folder went.
I work in the AEC industry, and we are consistently sharing big files. Dropbox makes this easy, as most of our clients have used Dropbox previously. These files contain construction drawings or product reviews that need to be accessed in a timely manner and clearly shared with the design team. Dropbox allows us to create a project folder and share several files/folders within the original folder so all the information is in the same place.

Used to store all information and files, by state and by job. Accessible to all site and office staff, avoiding ineffective communication on the front of commercial, construction drawings, and tendering.
  • Uploading collaborative excel sheets
  • Organisation of folder structure
  • Keeping record of changes and by whom
  • Sometimes poor communication in what is being uploaded
  • Sometimes when backing up it seems to change all file change dates to the backup date
Appropriate to run tenders and jobs from. You can save all drawings and it is easy to use for the less tech savvy site staff

Not as good as Teams for example to work on the same thing at the same time. Probably only time I move away from it

We store an entire image library as well as all our design assets on Dropbox for quick access and collaboration across our team. It works great because everyone can access these resources at any time and we can see who and when any modifications were made. Anything deleted can be recovered which is also nice because that happens from time to time accidentally.
  • Easy to share links
  • Plenty of storage capacity
  • Great search functionality.
  • Signs me out in the middle of a search
Dropbox is great for storing files securely, but not necessarily for reviewing or perusing them. We store a lot of images on Dropbox to be used by multiple parties, but if we wanted to learn more about those images, what rights we have to use them, etc. a digital asset management tool would be better. That just isn't our need though.

Dropbox stores all of our company files that contain images, pdf files and everything in-between. It is a great place to store everything since multiple people can have access to the same folders so it's not a constant flow of coworkers asking for things. It's instant access to items you need on a daily basis. It's very convenient.
  • stores images
  • stores logos
  • sorts folders
  • sub folders
  • more customization
  • more options for organization
It's really nice to have all of our images in one place. It would be nice to be able to connect it to other Apps more easily.

Shared Documents across multiple offices, employees in the field upload photos from job sites. Share quotes and receipts across offices. We also back up the majority of desktops across the company to Dropbox as an added layer of backup security. Allowing access to documents from any of our office locations is a huge help to our staff.
  • Folder Management.
  • Desktop/Mobile Interface.
  • Fast Loading.
  • Auto Updates.
  • Alerts on storage.
  • Better looking interface.
Excellent for companies that have remote offices. It allows staff to seamlessly interact with each other digitally. Our company has field representatives who perform service calls and installation jobs. Dropbox allows them to upload job site photos from the field to be reviewed immediately by the staff back at the office.

We use Dropbox for cloud storage, to have everything backed up, and also to be able to access files from different devices. Dropbox is installed on our computers and phones, and all business files are saved there instead of locally or in another cloud/drive storage. We also use it to share large files with third parties.
  • Cloud Storage
  • Sharing large files
  • Automatic file backups
  • Hard to find options to downgrade to a different plan when our business needs changed
We love Dropbox for sharing files both internally and externally. We use it as our primary storage for all business files, and also use the Dropbox link feature to send a single large file or folder to an outside party (e.g. a large presentation doc or high res images).

We use Dropbox as our entire server for multiple businesses within our organisation. With work from home, remote and travelling workforce plus external consultants - access to current information and files is critical. Access must be simple and streamlined across multiple platforms - web, app, android & apple plus offline activity is required for remote locations. Dropbox does this with ease.
  • Access via multiple platforms
  • Integrations with Apple for simple uploading & access
  • Offline activity with immediate uploading when in wifi
  • File access tracking
  • Sharing folders outside of organisation (such as contractors/consultants) can sometimes be clunky & want to add them to my organisation for a fee.
  • Took a while to learn how to give different users access to different folders. Still struggling to make this a simple action to be honest!
  • Retrospective activity reports of file/folder activity is difficult to navigate and I actually haven't worked out how to do it
Ease of access, superior integration into multiple platforms (apple/windows/android), offline activity and seamless upload/download makes Dropbox an excellent choice for our business that has remote & travelling workers.

We use Dropbox to save/manage company documents, and to be able to share documents with members inside and outside our organization. Some members find that it's not user friendly not being able to edit and save directly in Dropbox, but it's not a big concern.
  • Organized
  • Differentiates between team and member files
  • Can access offline
  • Editing directly in Dropbox
  • maybe password lock on files

  • Allowing folder access for a large group
  • Without the app, it's not always easy to use on mobile

I am a supply chain analyst who works in the US headquarters. We have an operation team in Europe, and they use Dropbox to get work documents; I use Dropbox to update vital reports and save them in a folder in Dropbox so our EU team can view and edit the report. I also created a training video of the work process and stored it in Dropbox so our new team members in the EU can easily access the video content in the folder stored in Dropbox.
  • Easy File transmitted.
  • In Time file sharing capability.
  • Provide more file storage space in cloud.
  • To provide more security protection of file stored.
  • Please provide summary review image of file store in the Dropbox.
Dropbox is well suited for companies operating across different regions, Including companies that do not have a large cloud-based saved system. Dropbox helps protect file privacy. I work from the office and at home. Dropbox allows me to start work at the office and finish it at home. In regards to music, we upload masters, stems, alternate mixes, etc. so that they are all in a safe, easily accessible place. This is great for file management with music supervisors, producers, editors, etc. We also use it to share promotional videos, pictures, etc. It is also a great spot to share sessions.
  • Provides a homebase where we can keep our files
  • It's visually appealing and easy to track items
  • It's nice to be able to share files with people who don't have Dropbox accounts
  • Sometimes (often-times) it's slow when using it on the web
  • It often won't allow us to change the title of a file. For instance, someone may forget to capitalize a letter, and if we try to change it, Dropbox will not allow us to do so since it's the same title
  • We often accidentally move a folder and try to undo, but the undo function does not always work
  • It does not display images in MP3 or AIF files

I use Dropbox to organize my files on my work computer. I also use it to share information between coworkers who also use it at work. It's similar to having a share drive, but even better because you can share links to your documents to other companies. It's incredibly easy to use. You have the ability to move things offline as well in case you go through internet connection difficulties. I definitely recommend this product to anyone in the need for organizing files/file share.

Easy online storage of large project files. Makes accessing archived projects quick and easy and we can keep all our files in one place. We don't need to access all the files we can download files individually. I like the desktop app which allows quick and easy access without a web browser
