File Storage and Sharing, Real-time collaboration, backup, and secure files. I made large files to share with my teammates and kept everyone on the same page. It offers an extra layer of protection against accidental deletion and other disasters. It helps for business continuity and minimizes data loss. Provides many security features like file encryption, password protection, and audit logs.
  • Storage and sharing files.
  • Real-time collaboration.
  • Security.
  • Version control issues.
  • Confusing file organization.
  • Search functionality.
Dropbox keeps teams connected regardless of location. Simple file sharing with external parties securely.Cost-effective and user-friendly. Backing up important files to the cloud offers peace of mind and protection against data loss due to hardware failures, accidental deletion, or natural disasters. Sharing and accessing documents with a small group of colleagues is where Dropbox excels. Its intuitive interface and real-time updates make communication and workflow seamless.

Dropbox allows us to share confidential information with our clients. Amazing and simple to use, I highly recommend it for any file-sharing needs. Our users and clients love the platform, and we have no intention of switching providers anytime soon! Love, love, love! A+ all-around!
  • Security
  • Ease of use
  • Robust
  • Integration into more software
Great for our purposes of sharing highly confidential information with our clients! Needs to be integrated with more software to win my heart forever.

We use it as a staff cloud and to share resources amongst teams. It helps keep track of file versions. We've implemented this across our staff as a way to distribute things like culture codes, handbooks, and then deliverables from our creative team.
  • Easy file management.
  • Permissions for certain people or groups.
  • Easy sharing of links and resources.
  • Video playback can be spotty with load times.
  • Search can be clunky when there are multiple files with similar names.
Well suited for teams that need to keep file history and share with internal and external users.

We use Dropbox every day to manage engagements with clients. This involves capturing their materials and even taking notes to keep everything together. Dropbox is a heavy part of our day-to-day workflow and is how we manage everything to do with our clients. There isn't anything else we'd consider due to the level of security Dropbox provides.
  • Keeps all materials together.
  • Allows for in depth note taking.
  • Integrates well with our tools.
  • It is hard to manage all the files.
  • Things get buried.
Gathering materials from clients and securing notes taken about the client. It's not so great at creating other materials like Google Drive.

We are a completely remote company with no physical locations. We use Dropbox as our internal filing system for our entities. We also have a filing system set up for each of our management services clients to store their business documents. Accounts payable and receivable and share those files with each client externally.
  • File sharing
  • File security
  • External limited file access
  • File collaboration
  • Conflicting copies
  • Intermittent file access issues
It's great for remote file storage where you have a wide range of sharing restrictions within your business. But also with external clients and vendors. You can easily customize access and create various hierarchical groups, but can also restrict access to specific folders deep within the structure of the system as needed for confidentiality.

We use Dropbox for file storage and sharing between members of our organization and members outside. We share files and information with our clients and also store the majority of our company files within Dropbox. We find it easy to use, and our customers do, too. We would recommend Dropbox and will continue to use it as we can access files from cell phones, iPads, and computers.
  • File Sharing.
  • File Storage.
  • Accessibility.
  • Exporting files.
  • Navigating on cellphone's.
  • Subfolder setups.
We use Dropbox for storing files that we need to access readily at any point. We access from our cell phones and update files regularly. I do wish for a connection with Adobe and office 365 as sometimes it won't open files on the first try. If you are on the go and need access to the same file from multiple devices, Dropbox is the perfect go-to.

I have 100s of GBs of data that I need to quickly analyze across devices as well as save for long periods of time. I use this service on all my devices to keep them in sync, and so do my friends. A majority of software, such as Emacs, that I use on multiple devices stays in sync via Dropbox. Unlike alternative cloud storage services, dropbox provides a Linux client, which is absolutely necessary for my needs. I have been using it for 10+ years, and now my storage requirements have increased to a couple of terabytes, personally. Dropbox is value for money and quite convenient.
  • Share data.
  • Keep softwares in sync via data sharing.
  • Store huge amounts of data for quick access.
  • Pricing for students could be better.
  • On some proxy networks, sometimes it fails to work on some PCs in my lab.
  • Allowing more free devices could be helpful for beginners.
Sharing data, as well as long-term storage, is a really good place where this works, especially because my SSDs crash, and it is hard to manage them across my travel from work to home. Moreover, I work across platforms, and there aren't many services that are cross-platform. It is less suited for personal use, though, because of the price.

It is important for me to have access to my files everywhere, to share information anywhere, organized files anywhere and update them anywhere. This has been a positive experience for me to have dropbox and it is why I still use today. I had updated 3 years ago because my private practice was growing and has been helpful.
  • make it to access file easier
  • moving files in dropbox easier
  • adding files easier
  • accessing the same files on different devices has been a challenge to navigate.
Running a private practice is important to have access to files daily and also monitoring business and personal files as well. Great for photos, fliers, EHR, assessment, large files, small files and the space those files are endless. I am using this for everything to make it simply. I use it more than I use Google Drive. Shhhh don't tell google.

Saving videos from shows and distribution them ; utilize as cloud backup for important files; sync it up with a NAS at home.
  • Retain files.
  • Share files.
  • Allow uploads.
  • Pricing is way too high.
  • Syncing is janky.
  • More features around collaboration and sharing.
  • Fix the outdated ui it looks like you're from 1999.
It's suited for sharing large files, retaining large files, and collaborating on them - but it is expensive, and I am about to look for alternatives.

For Gardner & Co. I use it daily for our client files. For Harmony Inc and My chorus I use it as a storage for planning and sharing documents. Gardner & Co is a professional consulting (speaking) and education; Harmony Inc is a non-profit and volunteer organization with users across the US & Canada.
  • Store items that I can access in day-to-day setting, collaborating with my team
  • Access with browser or with file explorer
  • Share documents (with versioning) with team members
  • The refresh rate can be different based upon your operating system and access. This can be frustrating when you are working with a team member, or on a document at the same time.
Very well suited where you are working on different stored documents across time/travel zones. It is harder when you are working on the same document at the same time - but I do this in a very limited arena.

Dropbox provided an easy platform for the design team of consultants to post their drawings and specifications on a 9-storey hotel project, during the design coordination phase of this project.
  • Easy way to upload large files
  • Easy way to provide access download links
  • Control who can or cannot edit folders and files
  • Integration with your desktop folder
  • Provide notifications if someone in your group has made any changes to any project files.
  • Provide notifications if someone in your group has uploaded or downloaded any documents.
  • Allow an option to add people from your contacts list from Outlook
Easy to setup folders and upload project documents, just like your desktop folder filing system, especially when install on your desk top, Dropbox is becomes another file path, which is easy to copy from your main local source of project file information.

We keep all documents that need to be saved to Dropbox. With having this platform anyone with access (staff) can access the files saved under the "General" network of files. It is easy to organize, create, edit each file that is saved within Dropbox. It is a safe and easy way to transfer documents to others not on your "network".
  • Organization of files
  • Transfer or share files
  • Multiple users
  • Ease of use
  • Securing individual files
  • Look the same on mobile and desktop
  • Faster download
With having people that work in the office and out of the office, a document can be accessed anywhere at any time. Example: It is convenient to have the document saved on a shared drive so that if I create an event flyer it can be approved right there or even changed by the other user.

Dropbox is my go-to for hassle-free file sharing and storage. It's a game-changer in collaborative work, offering a user-friendly experience. While it nails most tasks, I've noticed some quirks, especially with Storyline where saving can be finicky. Despite that, Dropbox is still my trusted companion for smooth document management.
  • File sharing
  • Cloud storage
  • Space saving
  • Selective sync
Storyline files don't save very well on Dropbox. They often create duplicates and version numbers can become quite confusing. This might be an issue with Storyline though. It works well when being used to store smaller files, I especially like the feature that shows whether it is synced or not.

I use Dropbox constantly. It allows me to share communications and files safely and securely with corporate and department heads in real time. I also like that it shows me who is currently accessing a file that I am trying to access.
  • Real time updates to files and communications
  • Information is safe and secure
  • Notifies me when files have been updated by others
  • Informs me when I am trying to access a file if another user already has it open
  • Allows me to delete a file for everyone or just me
  • The Dropbox Icon that appears when a file is opened while it serves an important function can be annoying because of its size
  • When doing a search for a file, Dropbox doesn't clearly display where the file is located for future reference
  • Recent files don't reflect accurately across different devices. If I open and work with a file on my laptop, it won't show as a recent file on my desktop.
Dropbox has been great for sharing reports with my area managers. They each have their own folder that I can input new reports and access their updated reports on an as needed basis. Dropbox also informs me when someone has made changes to any of the reports and which area manager made those changes.

  • Speed
  • Ease of use
  • Help with integration on other systems

Dropbox is great because it gives me the simplicity of being able to easily send a file or multiple files to a customer or collage without have to send multiple emails because the file or files are too large for a simple email server to transact. Drop box also helps us in sending one set of drawings to multiple vendors so everyone can download the same version of the file and we know that another version may not have slipped through the cracks.
  • Simple
  • User Friendly
  • Security
  • Price to add more users
  • Login Screen is sometimes hard to find
As i stated before the simplicity of Dropbox makes it easier to explain to someone even over the phone how to navigate the server for my company.

Photography uses - delivery files to clients, store image archive as a back up in the cloud for when I travel. It's great to access files while traveling and to feel like my files are protected if a hard drive fails. It's great to use to deliver images to clients, as well.
  • Easy to use
  • Always adding new features
  • Allows all file types and large files
  • Fee is high
  • Could be a bit easier to use
  • Not sure what else
It is great for photographers as you can upload and deliver/save any file type (including .psd) and high res files. It's great that you can access your files from anywhere. The app is fantastic. It does everything I need it to. I wish the yearly fee wasn't over $500.

My team supply archive footage to documentary productions. We use dropbox as the main file delivery platform for the media. Dropbox is a user-friendly and reliable product to do this and offers affordable large-scale storage that allows us to share files within our team and with our various clients.
  • Sharing folders of files with external clients and partners
  • Creating upload links for us to receive files
  • Long-term storage for future reference
  • easy search by filename
  • Annotation of files as is offered by Frame.io, Archive Ox, and others
  • integration with google sheets for cataloguing of files on dropbox
It's my top choice for basic file sharing, but other platforms such as Frame.io are better when annotation of video files is required.

-We use Dropbox for archiving, organizing and Sharing. -Problems: *Huge amount of data *Data scattered in many places. *Hard to access and share Scope of use case: -Storing data in one place. -Sharing data with the teamwork. -Professional presentation of the company's visual identity. -Security options like Deadline date shared links and shared Link's password.
  • Deadline date Shared links
  • Shared links' password
• sharing options
  • Visual identity options
  • Arabic user interface
  • Give access for period of time to allow the visitors or the outsource team to edit the data instead of forcing to signup and pay for Dropbox account.
Dropbox actually gave the company the feelings of professionalism by using it's own visual identity and also giving each link you share a deadline date and password and also sharing the link to anyone DOES NOT need a registration or an account to review the links that leads to a fast reach to the data by our clients.

We use it to store and share internal documentation, but mainly to share things externally with partners and other stakeholders. It's very easy to create a shared folder where they can upload files. It's also a tool that everyone knows, so it's easy to request to people that the use it for sharing files.
  • Great usability
  • Easy implementation
  • Different policies for sharing available
  • Some areas could be still easier and have too many options
  • Home screen is cluttered
It's best for any situation where you want to share files with someone, either internally or externally. It's not as great for collaborating on documents.

The Design Lead and all the Design team members use Dropbox to store various design files. Dropbox is convenient and easy to use. If a new member joins in, he simply needs to download and install the desktop app and have access to all the files, once the files are synced. If one can't find a file in the folders, we simply share the dropbox link over a message with each other. Dropbox was overall good to use except one feature that I suggested in my last interview call with Dropbox Team, back in September. I had discussed with them how it causes issues if someone's on the file making edits or has opened the file, so that as a designer the double work can be prevented. But now I see that it been taken care of. Helpful features like Activity, Version history, Lock editing have been added. Thanks a ton for the Lock editing feature, it's definitely going to help us designers and improve our experience with Dropbox. Keep up the good work Dropbox Team!
  • Lock editing feature
  • Make files available online/ offline
  • Ease of use
  • Activity and version history
  • No improvements required. Dropbox is in good shape as of now.
I feel all organisations need to have Dropbox. Especially for Graphic designers, UIUX - Product Designers. I really like Dropbox. I use it ever single day!

I use Dropbox daily to store documents, keep track of case information, send files and saved documents. This is a just a small explanation of what we use the Dropbox for here at our company. We are able to share a file and give access to our Dropbox to others who we collaborate with that are not in our offices.
  • Allows for storage of our many documents
  • Allows us to give access to others not in our offices
  • Allows for file sharing
  • The sharing ability
  • The capability to create multiple accounts
  • everything else is great
Using the Dropbox when saving large amount of data is very helpful. I am able to save data, store files, share files and the best part is when I get help from an outside source I can securely share a specific file from my office to them without having to worry about any breaches of other files.

Working across multiple locations, Dropbox replaced the need for a server as well as the ongoing costs associated with that.

It also allows us to transfer files from our locations to suppliers as well as clients, with tracked downloads.

Although we have our own backup systems, we have peace of mind knowing that Dropbox protects our data.
  • Syncing across devices
  • Transferring large files
  • Data backups
  • Some of our Government clients can not use Dropbox - this is a problem
The only major issue we have is the inability for some of our Government clients to work with Dropbox which makes smooth service delivery a bit more difficult.

Dropbox needs to address Government concerns for external users to be able to collaborate with clients inside Government organisations.

This is really the only pain point for us.

In our dynamic organization, integrating Dropbox has been a game-changer, elevating our collaborative efforts to unprecedented heights. Substituting traditional VPNs and file storage solutions, Dropbox seamlessly streamlines our workflow, fostering real-time collaboration irrespective of geographical constraints. This cloud-based gem transcends mere file sharing; it's a virtual workspace, a nexus of innovation. Its intuitive interface enhances accessibility, allowing our team to synchronize, edit, and share documents effortlessly. Unshackled from the limitations of traditional storage, Dropbox empowers us with unparalleled flexibility, ensuring that our projects evolve organically. It's not just file storage; it's a conduit for creativity, a digital symphony orchestrating seamless connectivity.
  • Lots of storage
  • Allows for many users
  • Can use from anywhere
  • I worry about security
  • I wish there was more storage without having to be online.
  • The online format is not as functional or user friendly as the one that is downloaded to my computer.
Collaborative Projects: Dropbox shines when it comes to collaborative projects involving multiple team members. Its real-time syncing ensures that everyone is working with the latest version of files, fostering seamless collaboration. Remote Work: For a distributed team like ours, Dropbox is a lifeline for remote work. Its cloud-based nature allows team members to access files from anywhere, promoting flexibility and productivity.Less appropriate - Large Datasets: Handling large datasets, especially those exceeding the available storage quota, might pose challenges. In such cases, alternative solutions or higher-tier Dropbox plans may be necessary. Complex Project Management: While Dropbox aids collaboration, it might fall short for comprehensive project management needs. For intricate project tracking and task management, integrating dedicated project management tools could be more suitable.

Everything we do, we do through dropbox so it's our central hub. Every team has their own folders and the main programs we use are microsoft and keynote and everyone has a macbook. Although we know we can use it online, the majority of the company sync their documents so that we have general access without having to be constantly downloading files. With a lot of shared files, dropbox makes getting real time updates easy no matter where we are working from, I think this works best for Keynote files.
  • Syncing files to allow live updates between the teams
  • Alerting you when others are in your files
  • Being able to restore files when clashes occur
  • It would be great if multiple people could work on one document at once, like you can do on google docs
  • It would be great if you could somehow merge conflicted files
I struggle to understand the difference between smart syncing and what I specifically choose to sync but I think it is super easy if you have the space to just keep everything synced!
